The office WONT ANSWER THE PHONE AT ALL. They are ABSOLUTELY I COMMUNICATED WITH THEIR CLIENTS. I even called an emergency number and asked for them to leave a message in the office and THEY SAID NO WITHOUT GIVING ANY REASONS. The house is UNHEALTHILY DIRTY, with broken things and the fridge and kitchen screen must be replaced.
At first when moving here I read these reviews and was very nervous . But I feel these reviews are wrong or just isolated incidents . Tolbert Realty (NOLA apartments) was timely and responsive with communication and handling any concerns or questions I may have had. I had a wonderful experience and would rent with this company again . The only reason why I’m no longer renting with them is because I moved to Arizona. If I come back to New Orleans I will do business with them again . The office and staff is very professional and I loved my apartment as well .
Dont let negative reviews fool you. 👍
Beware of these people! I can’t stress it enough! They will fix nothing (ive had a faulty water heater, leaking windows and a hole in my ceiling all for months at this point) Property manager blames it on busy schedule they also forced a showing on my unit during the current pandemic (hole still in ceiling). Not to mention they will cash your rent check only to claim you haven’t paid two weeks later. I know its hard to find affordable places especially in the area so if its a must keep all your receipts these people are careless greedy slum lords! Im not the only one with similar experiences.
Been in our unit for almost 2yrs finally had enough been trying to get them in to fix the collapsing wall from water and wood rot damage since hurricane Barry now the building is sinking and separating from the foundation this is Craig’s property at 2031 Marengo st. Not to mention the building is infested with rats you can hear them at night running around the walls and ceiling. Please if you value your health do NOT rent any of the units in this building.
They are taking people money. I called kelly and she blocked my number. They are scamming people. Please dont waste your money or time.
The experience overall was very positive. The management was always attentive to my needs and requests. Denny is an amazing person and very considerate. The property was old yet charming. I wouldve stayed indefinitely if my income was more stable.
Been renting from NOLA apartments for a while now. They are pretty good, but they do have their rules and dont bend much. Im sure that is because they have a lot of properties. If your cool with them, theyre cool with you kinda thing.
Bad service. Apt had flying roaches and mice. Do NOT go with nola apartments. The administrator (Kelly, didn’t forget about you, you POS) is rude, will not return calls, and will use personal responsibility against you when it is they’re duty to service you; they’re taking your money after all.Go literally anywhere else.
If I could give zero I would. DO NOT RENT!! they are money scamming heartless individuals. I lived in an apartment from them for 2 years and there were CONSTANT maintenance issues. Clogged sinks, no hot water, broken toilet, you name it. I had to constantly call their emergency line until they would finally send someone out. And often they would never even fix the problem. They love to put band aides on the issue to shut you up. But a few days later same problem will occur. Not to mention whenever I reported a problem they seemed annoyed with me as if I was bothering them and making them work for once in their life. Also when I moved out I made that place spotless and probably the best clean it has seen in 20 years (it was disgusting when I moved in). They had the audacity to take $50 bucks off of my deposit for wiping bathtub/toilet. Clearly Craig was just reaching for something to scam me out of money one last time. I bet he did not even look at the apartment. Its really a shame because it is in an amazing location Uptown and if they actually kept up with the building it would be an excellent place to live. I only suffered through it as long as I did, due to convenience of location & rent price. However it was an extremely stressful, unpleasant experience interacting with Craig Tolbert and his employees. I look forward to the day his slumlord days come to an end.
Craig Tolbert is a terrible excuse of a landlord. His apartments are rat and insect infested, and he does not care about his tenants whatsoever. I had to get my own exterminator, after they refused because our apartment was completely filled with roaches. The emergency line does not work, and they will screen your calls.
No answer, no response
I have seen some Apts. Some are Spacious some have one bedroom Kitchen dining room Living Room Bath.Beautiful inside. Some are Rentals that are furnished.Cleaned inside before you move in.The ones with yards are kept up.A little Pricey but you have to consider the Area. Some in other areas are not as Pricey. Some on St.Charles Ave., Broadway, and other areas The Owner also has Apts.close to The College out by Audubon Zoo close to Tulane University. Nice Area if you have Children going to College.
Scam, they don’t care about you or your well being. They love your money though
Went to see a property (2107 Broadway) and it was disgusting. The tenants clearly had no idea we were coming. The interior and exterior desperately needed a repaint, and the top floor porch was slumped down like the foundation couldnt support it anymore. The tenants also told us they had a cockroach infestation that they had reported and no one had done anything about. I texted the company to inform them of this, and they responded by suggesting I research other landlords in NOLA (duh, how else would I have found out that this guys a slumlord?) and then blocked my number. Take 5 minutes to google Craig Tolbert and youll find plenty of horror stories about renting from these people. Dont waste your time.
NOLA Apts and Craig Tolbert are the worst landlords I have ever had. The property I was at was infested with TERMITES AND RATS. All they did to combat this was put ONE thing of rat poison outside after they received multiple complaints. They dont care about you as a tenant or their properties at all and I would avoid renting from them in entirety, if I were you. Looks can be deceiving -- I would give 0 stars if it were an option.
This could probably be the worst landlord you could go to. I do not recommend renting from anyone associated with Nola Apartments. The landlord doesn’t keep up with properties and from what I’ve learned he likes to boast about it. After Katrina, for multiple apartment complexes he bought out afterwards, he only fixed from the waterline and down. Pocketed the rest of the insurance money. If you live here I highly recommend getting a city code inspector to come and check out the insides of your walls for mold or the electrical work for being totally outdated. You’ll never get in contact with the landlord, Craig tolbert, and his assistant kelly has the tendency to neglect following up on issues. The two were caught up in a settlement for neglecting a deaf man trying to contact their office, which resulted in a $75,000 settlement. Don’t waste your money here, demand fixes before renting.
Just dont do it. Not worth it.
Absolutely terrible. Management does not really care for your safety as a tenant, and I have had nothing but terrible experiences for the 7 years renting from this money grabbing, self-serving, disgrace for a human being.
As a neighbor to one of their apartments, GARBAGE has been piled in front of the building going on 4 plus weeks now, drawing bugs, drawing animals, and it makes our neighborhood look terrible. I can only imagine how terrible the inside, and management of their apartments are. Let the buyer beware -
