The manager here is AMAZING. Super knowledgeable and generous with his time. He could tell we were a bit nervous prepping for our new pup and spent 20 minutes walking through the ABCs of what we would need to prepare.

UPDATE: The team of associates and managers were super helpful in rectifying the situation and gave us a free bag of dog food as well as refunding the whole training program. I still hope nobody has to go through what we went through, but the sales team is definitely the best out there.Tonight we went to our 3rd group training at petsmart in New London and had the worst experience I could ever imagine. Coy, the trainer not only refused to work with Lexie (my puppy) because she was difficult, but turned his back towards both me and my puppy the entire class. This all started because she wasn’t interested in the fake bone he was using, and I can only assume it made him insecure to not be able to get my dogs attention in front of the class. The only time he addressed Lexie and I was to tell the entire class that Lexie will leave last because “she will not get it” when we were practicing to “wait” before going through doors. This was extremely embarrassing for both me and Lexie. He was on the floor giving all the other dogs treats and love and attention, but told me to hold my dog, singling us out. Coy had no problem working with the other dogs/owners, but paid no attention to Lexie and I. I did not pay $136 to be ignored and embarrassed. His body language and tone of voice was extremely unprofessional as he talked down to both my dog and I. She is the happiest most playful and energetic and loving dog you could imagine, yet she cried the whole car ride home and cried herself to sleep on my pillow tonight.

The ONE THING Ill mention (since its winter) is this store has pet-friendly ice melt in stock almost always.Please remember the dogs who get walked on your sidewalks when you choose an ice melt product. The regular Salt & ice melt products are highly corrosive to their paw pads.Store has a knowledgeable & friendly staff as well

This is my go to place for all my pet needs. I have 2 cats and a dog and not only do they have almost everything I could ever need in one stop, but the store is emaculent (considering all the fur/feather babies that visit daily), and the staff is always helpful and friendly. Not to mention their grooming and training services that have continued even through the pandemic, as best they can. This PetSmart was clean and organized. The workers in the grooming department were very friendly towards my animal and me. I was very satisfied with the grooming and my dog looked great! The gift bag was a very nice touch. I will definitely be returning to PetSmart!

Store was well stocked with items I needed for our cat, Yuki.

They usually always have my cats brand of wet food in stock. Her dry treats vary but thats only because she likes certain flavors. Haha also theyre good about opening a second register if theres a crowd which is always nice but especially during covid times.

Good place for pet supplies and fish. Look elsewhere if you want an actual pet though. There was about 5 birds and 2 frogs in the place.

I had gone to three different pet stores looking for a specific brand of rabbit food for my foster bunny and this Petsmart was my last hope. It looked like they were sold out on the shelves so I asked an employee (her name was Morgan) if she might know where I could find some. She literally searched for over half an hour through a huge pile of stock boxes they had in the back of the store and ended up finding exactly what I needed! I am so so thankful. She is a 10/10 employee.

I went with the intention of buying a cat tree/scratching post or something similar but everything seems to be very flimsy and expensive for what it is. I just dont know how to justify that when I can get the same quality for cheaper through Chewy. That aside, employees are very helpful and there are plenty of options for food, treats, toys, etc.

The employees boast about being SO KNOWLEDGEABLE when it comes to reptiles, but don’t seem to care about the CLEARLY MALNOURISHED, DEHYDRATED BALL PYTHON WITH STUCK SHED ALL OVER IT. I really hope they adopt it out instead of making a profit off of an animal that’s going to need a lot of work to get back to good health.

Always clean, stocked and overall friendly staff. Convenient location. I think it has a much bigger selection for small animals and reptiles than the nearby PetCo in Waterford.

Staff so nice. But everyone asks if you need help. Not many toys for little little dogs. One of mine is 8 lbs and needs little toys for little mouth. I found about 4 to 6 that she could play with. Lots of fish and fish supplies. Very clean and store made me feel good. Something there for all pets.

Love the customer service here. I came in and started picking out some treats when an employee asked if I needed help and I explained to her that we just got a new puppy and it turns out the treats I was grabbing were too hard for my new babys teeth. She walked me through better options and even gave me some samples to take home!

What a great experience. The site for ordering was very user friendly, the confirmation my order was ready came within an hour, on arrival there were designated parking spots for pickups, and once I called to let them know I was there, the order was outside within 5 minutes. New London CT does it right! Will be back!

The Pet Smart in New London is very convenient but pricey compared to their competitors. They usually are very well stocked and seems to have what I am looking for.There has always been delays at the register even though there are only 3 customers in the entire store.

Small selection of dog toys and leashes/harnesses. Lots of low quality food on their shelves as well. Small animals were in very small cages, and the reptiles had like 5 beardies in one cage barely fit for one baby.

I sent my dog there for her first grooming experience. Shes had a double ACL/cranial ligament tear in both rear legs and shes very sensitive, and shes about a year and a half old. We left her in the care of Erin, and when she came home she was shaken up, traumatized, I tried to say thank you at the time in store to her, she ignored both my mom and I, as well as a shocked response from the cashier. Rude. And I dont know what the heck she did to my dog but Im appalled because she wont even leave her kennel without shaking and crying to go back in to her safe place. I will NEVER let her back there again. Disgusting.

After waiting weeks for my dog’s grooming appointment, I turn up on time only to have them turn me away!! I showed them a couple of mats (was getting defurminator treatment thinking it might help) and they said they couldn’t “spot shave them” since they were busy and that’s that. They just turned me away without other options...except for rescheduling and waiting weeks for another appt. I even told them I could trim those mats myself but they refused. And manager was kinda rude...

This PetSmart is always clean and the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The prices for some items are a little high (like bedding and hay) compared to what you can buy at Wal-Mart or Tractor Supply. Overall, PetSmart is a great place to shop and bring your pets!

I called before I went to get a price on bath for my two dogs. Just a bath. I set up an appointment and I took my guys in. When I arrived, I was asked about ear cleaning and nail clipping, etc. I told them repeatedly that we did not need all of that. We just needed a good bath. Their vet takes care of their nails and such. The staff said, its all included in the price. You might as well get it done while theyre here. I told them it didnt matter that it wasnt necessary. I finally said they could if they wanted to. When I arrived to pick them up...my bill had increased by 25 bucks for the add on services I requested. I was NOT HAPPY. The manager apologized and did refund my difference in price. However, be aware of the scam.

First visit I will definitely pay many return visits. I was looking for a particular brand of Purina cat food. I had visited 7 other establishments with no luck, PetSmart had what I was looking for. The staff was friendly and helpful. Ill be back, keep up the good work.

Sean provided the best customer service I have experienced in a long time. I used to shop at the other P pet store which is close to my house, but I am now a loyal Pet Smart shoppers.

The groomers are sweethearts! Taylor did a fantastic job on my 5 month old black labs nails! The nail grinding is an awesome service to choose. The nails come out so smooth!

Great place for getting the dogs nail grinding done, though $14 for 10 minutes of work seems a bit on the high side (wish I could do it myself!) Pets love it here, and I love it more when humans clean up after their dog. Always fun to visit the cat or two thats waiting for their furever home. Lots of choices, and occasional sales. Make sure the register rings up the sale items correctly, and get a free item if it doesnt ring up right (see the sign in the register lane - its a law).

Very helpful staff

I want to like this place, because they have a good inventory; but some of the employees are just flat out bad. I tried to bring my dog into the grooming shop and was told rudely by another customer to wait outside because her dog isn’t good with other dogs, and the employee stood there and said nothing. As I was waiting outside, multiple employees walked by me without even making eye contact, let alone asking if I needed any help. My two friends were looking at fish, and neither of the two employees working in that department spoke a word to them, because they were too busy looking at their cellphones. There was also only one employee ringing at the registers with a line of 8-10 customers while multiple other employees stood there doing nothing but watching her instead of opening another register to help. I know it won’t make a difference, but I won’t be spending anymore of my money here.

Dog Trainers Holly and Kelly are great and Hillary the manager of grooming is awesome!Joseph knows his small animals and reptiles.Would highly recommend this store oh and they price match! Nice, clean pet store. Grooming salon for dogs and dog classes here. They are wonderful with my dogs. Nice friendly staff. They also sell a variety of fish, birds, cats, reptiles and small critters like chinchillas and guinea pigs. They do not have a dog cookie/snack bar here.

Please be aware of using their grooming services, I brought my dog in several times until they started messing up, she would come home after a day at the groomers banging her head on the floor from too much water in her ear, also limping from cutting nail too short. They only informed us once that they “accidentally” cut her nail too short and she was bleeding but its happen multiple times since then, when I called to complain about it they pretty much said if it keeps happening go somewhere else. And so we did, Sharp K-9 clippers in groton. DO NOT BRING YOUR PET TO PETSMART!!

Grooming was great. My dog celebrated by peeing on the floor while slipping his collar while trying to control my toddler. Staff was very helpful in the ensuing chaos.

My dog & I visit almost every day for the past two years and the staff are welcoming and friendly. Two days ago however, following our routine visit we purchased pet treats from an end cap facing the register with a sign Treat Special 3 fo $5.00. The guy at the register said that must be an old sign and said he is the manager. The bins and the sign face the register and easy to read!! That signs been there for two years!! What kind of manager wouldnt know that that sign has been there? Visually impaired?? Poor manager in my opinion and not customer service oriented which shouldnt reflect on the staff who are great.

Holly the trainer was helpful with training tips for our dog. The cashier with the long beard is very knowledgeable about the products they sell and its very obvious that he loves his job.

I scheduled an appointment for my dog weeks ago for a bath & haircut.. I received a confirmation call Saturday and then received a call that following Monday hours before my dogs appointment & they tell me that they had to cancel my dogs appt because his groomer hurt her back (understandable because things happen) but then whoever I spoke to, tells me that they don’t have anything until Feb 2nd. They couldn’t squeeze me in and when I asked for something sooner i was told that the only other person who probably can is, 30 weeks pregnant but she’ll try BLAH BLAH BLAH. First of all, idc about anyone’s business and second clearly she can still do baths and haircuts if she’s still there, don’t try to make me feel bad about asking to be squeezed in after I booked the appointment WEEKS ago. The customer service here is terrible and pathetic. I won’t be returning there again.

CK was very Interested in making sure the product I was buying was the correct product for my needs. She was vet supportive of pumpkin who has anxiety and really helped. Love seeing the correct customer service.

They always have items to keep my reptiles happy- whether that just be food or habitat needs, and great sales and offers to make things more affordable.
