My family has fished with Dylan the last 3 years in Colorado. Ive been fishing the Gulf coast forever, but was new to fly fishing. We couldnt ask for a better guide. He was great with guidance and patience, and most of all makes it fun. His enthusiasm for fishing and just being on the water is infectious. I especially enjoyed the day with my daughter (not a fisher-person), she was so thrilled. We had a day on the Colorado that was epic! I might never see so many massive trout again. Dylan is a consummate pro! My son (11 ) and I floated the Guadalupe on a crisp, stunning January morning. Shortly after launch, Dylan put us on several sizable Bows and Browns. As the river woke up, Dylan was on it, changing our flies several times to match the bite/hatch and keeping us on bigger and more aggressive fish. He’s super knowledgeable about the species, the river and the history of the area which made for a fantastic morning of fishing. Dylan is an incredible angler and a super enjoyable dude! Dylan is one of easiest Otto get along with and very patient. He took whatever time(considerable)was necessary to teach/show my son and I roll casting and away we went. Our family has used Dylan on two separate trips, Texas and Colorado with tremendous success both times. He is a professional both in fishing knowledge and customer care. In November of this year, I went fly fishing on the Guadalupe for the first time. I hired Dylan, and that has turned out to be one of my best moves in 2019. He worked with me on technique for various situations as well as changing tackle to keep the lines tight! Dylan is very knowledgeable and is very diligent in his game plan. I have had my fair share of fly fishing guides, and Dylan is by far the favorite. Wether fishing the Colorado River up north or the Guadalupe River down in Texas, Dylan is a true master of his craft. He constantly changes the setups to make sure you stay on the fish all day. He recognizes different levels and was a true professional in helping my father learn how to fly fish. I have floated with Dylan multiple times on the Guad, and it has never disappointed! His love and knowledge of The Texas Hill Country is evident. Ive spent around 25 years fly fishing the West and have to admit, I was at first skeptical about trout fishing in Texas. Dylan quickly changed my mind on that front. He keeps you on fish all day and makes it seem easy. Dylan is extremely helpful and patient. My girlfriend had previously fly fished maybe twice before our first trip with him, and she caught fish all day long. I look to plan trips to fish the Guadalupe River around his schedule, not my own. He has fished these rivers since a young boy, which makes for fun stories, great knowledge of the sport, as well as where to enjoy the rest of your trip when not on the water. Dylan is and outstanding, very knowledgeable guide. I have fished with him in Colorado outside of Glenwood Springs and had an amazing float full of healthy brown and rainbow trout. The gear was top notch and Dylan was great at throwing some pointers and tips our way throughout the day to help us become better with our presentation. As a professional fishing guide and hunting outfitter for almost 3 decades Now. I have had the privilege to meet so many in the industry. Few last very long. It takes a special passion and a demeanor to guide fisherman with any real success, it requires you combine that passion with a skill level and personality that sets you apart from the average guy. My fly fishing experience is very limited. It’s so far from what I do for a living. and yet with that limited experience I have fly fished several big western rivers and with multiple other guides throughout the years. Dylan will make a trip on the Guadalupe as challenging as fun and as successful as any place you could conceive of fishing.
