Seth put us on tons of big trout and is incredibly helpful with inexperienced anglers such as my dad.I’ve had nothing but positive experiences with action angler for the past 7 years. They always took the time to help me learn the knots and techniques when I was new and continue to give great advice as to what flies are catching fish!

I have fished the Guadalupe River with Chris Jackson (among others) for about seven years. He is the best guide on the Guadalupe hands down. He works his tail off to put you on the fish and make your trip a great experience. He taught my sons how to flyfish and is great with clients I bring along on trips. I highly recommend him and the entire Action Angler team.

Not warm and inviting to say the least. I get it, this is very exclusive and expensive sport but the common man walking in does not need to be made to feel as such. My idea of any great hobby is invite as many folks into the hobby as possible and show them how much fun can be had. This place will do just the opposite. Maybe I caught the older gentleman running the store on a bad day but I work in the retail/customer service space and this guy was flat out rude and cold.

Ive taken a dozen trips with Chris over the past 4 years on the Guadalupe and the Gunnison Gorge in Colorado. His knowledge of casting, fishing, and adjustments to what the fish are biting on, is simply excellent. Hes always personable and safe while on the river, and I would recommend his guide service or the Action Angler fly shop to anyone in the Central Texas area.

Came from out of state to fish with a friend who fly fishes. After paying a fee to park and spending money in his shop he tells my friend and I to leave simply because I had a spinning rod. I will not do any further business here and don’t recommend it to anyone else either.

Just took the 2 hour intro to fly fishing from Chris. Very well done. If you want an intro to fly fishing, this is the place to do it. Highly recommended.

Great outing with Action Angler. Its apparent they know the waters, the bugs and the fish. Even though the bite was slow, Chris still put us on some fish for the day landing plenty of nice sized rainbows in the net.

Spent a full day with Chris catching numerous rainbow trout. It was an amazing experience that was just as exciting for me as any other guided trip I have had in Colorado. Chris was a very patient and helpful guide who, even though he was not feeling well, stepped up and showed us a wonderful time. All the staff at Action Angler are personable and helpful. I will be visiting in the future and recommending them to everyone I know.

We wanted an easy introduction to fly fishing on the Guadalupe and Chris provided that in spades! We signed up for a notional half day (8-12ish), myself (Dad) and a first-timer 12 year old daughter. All the equipment was provided and a simple matter to either sign up at the shop (we did) or on line (you can). I had a quick chat on the phone the night before, largely so Chris could guard what kind of experience we were after. I can tell you that I have been with fishing guides in Alaska, Gulf of Mexico, New Zealand, Tasmania, Gulf of Thailand, and several places across the UK, and Chris is as good as any of them and better than most. Polite, patient, responsive, engaging, knowledgeable. All the things we were hoping for. My daughter was delighted with the two feisty decent sized Rainbow trout and 2 spunky perch she pulled from the river with Chris’ help. A truly memorable trip enhanced by Chris’ wider knowledge of the culture, history and nature of the area. He also enjoys learning and listening to clients. Great trip, thanks Chris!
