I joined LA Fitness a year ago and its a great gym. They keep the machines and restrooms super clean. Everyone is nice and very helpful. Its not very crowded so you can always find an open machine. I really enjoy the Zumba classes, its a great workout. Also, the monthly fee is very reasonable.

I tried calling this location a while back to inquire about their training program. The person I spoke to was very dodgy and never answered my questions. I wanted to know how much it cost for a training session and he wouldnt answer. (not even a simple we dont offer that) He pulled up my account with another LA fitness location to dodge my questions.Anyway, please google LA Fitness scam. LA fitness just targets vulnerable people like me to sign contracts that have a hefty buyout for no good reason. I got legally scammed out of $869 and only got one training session out of it.The guy on the phone here mustve been trained to dodge my questions. LA Fitness knows what theyre doing and I cant fathom why anyone would go to these locations.

Zero stars. Its a superficially high end facility. but in reality it is a prehistoric gymnasium with Neanderthal technology. They can freeze your account and charge you $10 monthly with a touch of ONE button. But are oblivious to cancelling a membership the same way. Unbelievable the run around I had to endure to cancel my membership. This place is the definition of Larson, Tyranny. Avoid this place at all cause. Unless you like a Business that bleeds out your wallet as much as possible and makes it practically impossible to cancel an account. Beware !!!

Staff are amazing greeting you. Friendly environment and personally recommend getting your self a trainer. Really helps to see what you want and need to work out on starting off.

Decent gym, good amount of space, lots of cardio stuff. Has a pool. Kinda wish you didnt have to pay such a high upfront fee in order to get the lower monthly rate for membership though.

Free guest pass is not free! Tried to go to check it out because Ive been looking at gyms to decide which one I like, good equipment here definitely can get a good lift session here BUT, one girl that helped me did not know much about anything, and someone else that helped me pushed it too much trying to sign me up for a membership when I had a guest pass. Even saying my commitment was not high because I didnt wanna purchase a membership there and then. Too pushy! Lost for the gym I love lifting but I can see him scaring away brand new people that just want a gym membership. Ended up giving it a shot by buying a day pass, but I think I am going with a different gym just because of the staff.

My car was burglarized in the parking lot and from their actions they dont care. If LA Fitness corporate contact me Im willing to share my experience will make things better for them and everyone else.- police said they have 4 burglaries today this mall packing lot.- I was able to track my stolen property to a particular address three blocks away. LA Fitness showed some desire to stop this problem, Im certain the person who burglarized my vehicle does this on a regular basis at the LA Fitness parking lot.- For 6 weeks I attempted numerous times to get LA Fitness interested. Unfortunately LA Fitness wasnt interested. Some people just want to their 9 to 5 and not get involved.

This gym is ok right before they closed again the lady at the front desks kept pesterning me and my sister to pull our masks up and litreally it was so annoying this gym is pretty cool but a bit small and the vending machine is overpriced.

Cleanest gym ever! A big shout-out to the cleaning crew who are ALWAYS present and working hard. The entire staff is very nice. Its great that most of them speak Spanish. I enjoy the group classes! Hopefully they can add more yoga classes. ♡♡♡

The music was too loud it give us headaches. The type of music is only for young people. We voice out our opinions and requested to lower it down but it seems that they don’t care. They say yes but didn’t do anything. I hope they will select the type of music that cater to all types of people and lower the volume. The younger people in gym are listening to their own type of music anyway from their headsets. Thank you!

I have been a loyal LA customer for 3 years now. Had to resign a contract with this location due to military reasons. The staff here pretends to be nice. The trainers just annoy you to sign up for their program. Was interrupted on multiple occasions during work out sessions to see if I wanted to sign up. I was deploying sooner than thought, asked if they needed a letter showing this. And I was told no we work well with military members. two months later, still being charged fees. When I asked to speak wish a manager the front desk woman hung up on me then refused my calls. I am now officially never going back to LA fitness at all, 3 years of being a customer, and they just make you feel YOUR the inconvenience. Save your money! This place is a scam!

Friendly and informative staff, clean environment, great adult exercise classes for all age groups. Especially like the track on the 2nd floor. Makes walking and jogging enjoyable. Like the jacuzzi, they keep it nice and toasty!! We have Silver Sneakers and this location let us know a benefit that we didnt know we had that our home location never told us about.

This gym has very low standards in cleaning maintenance and they do nothing to get better. Ive been a member for months and Im very disappointed. The pool is way too small for so many members.

Nice LA Fitness, big locker with TVs. Cool track on 2nd floor for running, jogging or walking, which occasionally opens up as a balcony and makes the loop interesting. The lap pools length is a little short though- but the upside is that there are 5 or 6 lanes, so more than often theres no issue getting in the pool. Large hot tub and showers available so people can shower BEFORE they enter the pool-- just wish everyone did that. There is ample parking also and very easy access from freeway.

Facilities are great, unfortunately you are not allowed to use all the equipment and areas of this gym unless you are paying for personal training.if you are willing to pay a few hundred bucks a month for personal training I recommend you to join a reputable Crossfit gym. You will get trainers with more knowledge and experience than at any box gym such as LA fitness.If you just want to pay a low monthly fee to be able to use the gym equipment then I suggest you to look at a 24 hrs Fitness gym. they have very good deals by paying for 24 months in advance and have no equipment restrictions.

Its a nice and clean place, there are a plenty of space so you can workout as you want without any problem, the only thing is that they dont have many machines to work legs other than that the gym is well equipped, it has a second floor where you can go and do some cardio. I think is one of the best in town because Ive try others before.

I went in as a guest today, with the potential of becoming a member, and I have to say it’s the Worst gym I’ve ever been to, weights were missing and/or in the wrong spots, the restrooms are disgusting, poop in the toilets, on the floor, used toilet paper all over the place, the sink counters were nasty, I felt gross just washing my hands there, I never write reviews, but I paid $15 for a one day pass and it was a disgusting experience, I think it’s hilarious how they have 10 people behind desks trying to sell memberships as if they are trying to sell you a luxury car, but the car they are trying to sell is a 1990 Honda Civic hatchback with 423,000 miles and a fart can exhaust. Embarrassing, NEVER returning there again.

The gym is too small, the pool has only 4 rows to swim and its always packed. This gym isnt as clean as the East Lake location. The catch says 29.99/ monthly. The reality is they charge $70 for initiation fee + $29.99 + 29.99 for first and last month and three months later they charge $49.00 for anual fee.

I’ve tried the guest pass for a couple of days and am really disappointed.. everything is a mess.. Weights wrong misplaced, nobody ever wipes down after use, people drop weights..Restrooms kinda dirty too.. only good thing is that there’s a swimming pool..

Just recently relocated to San Diego from Seattle and I must say this LA Fitness is rather unique. Yes, it does seem small however once you venture up stairs there is a lot more to offer than what it appears from the entrance. There are a variety of additional cardio machines, heated pool (that is actually heated), weights, 40 man sauna,yoga mats, a running track if the treadmill gets crazy boring and not too mention Brandon, the sales manager? is pretty sweet ! Definitely a plus to feel acknowledged :)Apparently there was renovation as the site was previously operated by Bally.thumbs up!Branden

Pretty solid gym. I always come in google to see when they are busy. Only complaints are that when it is actually busy, its not worth even attempting a decent lift, and the weights arent always put in correct order, but are usually easy to locate. I enjoyed my time with this gym.

There are a lot of improvements. The machines are new, they remodeled. The staff has good costumer service. There are some spots around the track that can use a little pick me up, still. Best time to go is at 5am, there is hardly anyone there. I havent dipped in the pool yet, but it looks the same as it did before the remodeling.

Gym looks better with the remodelation. If you like for someone to see you but and stick wile taking a shower. Well this is the right place for you. The showers are made to permit two people to shower together separated by visible glass. So say hello to you shower buddy because you will see all his glory. Other than the lack of privacy the gym looks newer.

On vacation in San Diego area and I spoke to Jesus Cruz who was amazing enough to give me a complimentary pass for my 7 day stay!!! amazing customer service!!!!!

I registered at the Otay facility but I wanted to try the National City location, it was not a good idea ... their treadmills are outdated and somehow the heart rate monitor get in the way when running, I hit my hands so many time that I decided to stop running, before I left I asked if I was going to be charged and the lady said “yes” they charged me because I didn’t paid the extra fee to go to any location and I’m glad!The pictures in their website are not from that facility, their swimming pool is smalI . I want to be positive, so .. one good thing about this location I will say is the indoor track.

Here is my original review, based on first impressions:Two businesses visited, actually. Member of LA Fitness, which is my reason for the visit. Opted for their trainer-assisted program. Costly, but a great aid to all levels of fitness, Im sure, but particularly beneficial for 69-year-old clients like me. Unlike gym facilities of years past, current staff that focus on individuals fitness levels produce remarkable results. Knowledgeable in areas such as kinesiology and nutrition, clients like me have hope for overcoming many of the physical limitations people of my age develop. The rest of the facility is chock-full of amenities like treadmills, weight machines, swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, spacious and semi-private shower stalls; and a lesser used, but for me major attraction, an indoor track housed on the second level. Finally, the staff have proven to be incredibly friendly. I think the only mention of anything less than appealing may be the component of solicitation for the services they offer. I assume most spas fall into this category and must be accounted for. However, even that slight criticism is tempered by my own example of choosing their trainer program. For me, well worth the cost.-- Since then, Im afraid the experiences havent been all that great. Mainly, the program I enrolled in was due to expire in Sept 18. The fees should have ceased at that point. They didnt. Before I was aware of what they had done, they continued charging me for the monthly training sessions. The staff I inquired to were unaware of continuing charges, informing me the payments should have stopped. Corporate, however, had different ideas. I finally put an end to the program, paying an extra four months, yet unable to go anywhere near the complex. I had a knee replacement in December of 18, which eliminated working out. Even though the contract was to end that September, I have no recourse in recovering those funds. Added to the problem, like many gyms, I suppose, members must submit their termination in person. Since I couldnt walk or get around, that was impossible. Their response: You could have gotten someone to pick up the forms at the location for you.Ill keep the rating at two stars, against my better judgement.

Great layout, not overly crowded like some gyms, great pool and spa. Clean, friendly and plenty of free parking for all.

The place is nice, but they remove a sauna and a steam room that was there when ballys own it.

I didnt have a good experience. Ive been with this gym since it was Holiday, then Ballys, now LA. Ive had previous issues before with LA and cancellation of my membership but I thought I would give them a second chance. The staff has always been friendly and helpful, but the cleaning lady got real nasty with me in the locker after I got out of the pool. The showers and sauna were closed for maintenance and I couldnt dry off in the shower area (apparently they had an electrical fire when someone poured water on the rocks of the sauna)....I waited so I can be semi dry before getting my gym bag, but I had to get my bag and clothes from my locker. I tried ringing out the bathing suit in the shower area but I wasnt 100% dry. There were two ladies in there who thought I didnt understand Spanish and they started talking about me, so I grabbed my towel and went back to the shower area to dry off when one of the members said I hope you fall down in Spanish. I guess they thought I didnt understand. They then called the cleaning lady over and said she had to clean again because I wet her floor. Ugh. At this point I had had it. I told her and her friend straight where they could go. The cleaning lady approached me and said I wasnt supposed to be in the lockers, now she had to wipe the water off the floor. I told her where am I supposed to go I need my clothes and your showers, and sauna are off limits. She said I shouldnt be in the locker room and if I didnt like it I could complain against her at the front desk and she gave me her name and walked off. I gathered my gym bag, and things and decided to leave when the cleaning lady came back with a member of the front desk and said she was being attacked, and she was crying. IDK, but I thought the cleaning crew was there to um, clean. Im very considerate of the facility and other members, but the locker rooms at the LA Fitness in National City is a complete witch hunt. Every morning I can hear those birds cackling in the locker room back biting and talking about other members. Guess what, some folks understand Spanish! I cancelled my membership. I explained to them how uncomfortable all 3 (2 members of the gym, and their cleaning staff) made me feel. Too bad that some people cant mind their own damn business and ruin it for others, or just have a little tact for that matter. I wonder how the cleaning crew feels after water aerobics.....they must fall apart!!!!

I went here since 1984 until now.I am comings everyday here before and after work. I have been around total 30 LA finesss club in California. however this place is still the best for me after 31 years later. Thanks for everything. Keep a good work to all people at this club from Bally to LA fitness.

I love this place super clean and everything is brand new.

If I could give a 0 out of 5 I would. I rarely give a poor rating but this place is nasty. The drinking fountains smell like mold. One of them leaks on the ground in the free weights area. The free weights area is too small as it feels like machines are on top of each other. Corporate should seriously fix this dump. Ive been to 6 different locations in the US and this one is the worst.

This place is most of the time dirty on the pool area, its the only part I can use because I am in wheelchair, the manager needs people skills, very rude with disabled people, the first time I complained about the pool chair for disasable people she said I can cancel your membership and you can go find somewhere else

Good gym. Not as much equipment as I hoped for

This is one of the cleanest most organized LA Fitness clubs I have been to in the US.

Nice because everything is new, and somewhat clean. Youd think with a 4 million dollar remodel they wouldve upgraded the juice bar too but this new one doesnt have one and also doesn’t have a decent power tower for an workouts. Made up of about 76% cardio machinesStaff is less than friendly.

I used to have a membership with LA a few months ago and I wanted to get it back today ended up running out. The smell was really bad and just from the entrance it looked super nasty. I will go to my old LA even if its a little out of my way. This one is convenient but not worth going.

BMember since it was Holiday Spa, back then it was awsome! Now it is sad to see how deteriorated this place is getting, not just the site but also the programs are not what they used to be Rules get broken in sauna and steam room, and theres no use complaining nothing is done about it. Seriously considering terminating membership, but for now my friends are holding me. How I wish someone pays attention to these reviews and help this place be what it once was.

Place could use a face lift. The Staff could also use some customer service training.I was there to workout, the equipment was kept up and clean. The spa are was awesome. A huge jaccuzzi and swimming pool.Rude people and freaks you are going to find anywhere.

My experience at the National city LA fitness has been outstanding! Great friendly knowledgeable staff i get greeted with a smile from the moment i step in, every single time... yes i notice stuff like that its competent empathy at its best ... Terrible gym dont waste your time the only reason Im giving one star is because the corporate office was so helpful (and I cant give zero stars) in getting me a refund because I regrettably paid for three years up front as part of a special offer. The staff lied about the remodel how much it was going to cost and what would be added. The staff is rude and not helpful at all. This LA now decided to not allow gym bags in the weight room. First one employee approached me and told me to bring a lock next time I came which I was fine with. Not five minutes later another employee contacted me and told me to put my gym bag in a locker after he had seen me talk to the other staff member. This employee gave me the only option of leaving my bag unsecured and harassed me until until I finally decided to leave with no apology for the inconvenience. DONT WAIST YOUR MONEY THEY WILL LIE TO YOU FROM DAY ONE. Look at all the lawsuits against LA Fitness before you join. Theres a reason theyre rated so low.

If you were a member before the remodeling then you know it has had a major improvement in every aspect great gym now, machines and weights always free to use no waiting.

The facility is badly in need of at least an upgrade but better, a complete remodel and expansion. It currently suffers in comparison to modern clubs or even other LA Fitness facilities.

Gym is remodeled like most people know so the gym is like if it was brand new. My review is being based on only a couple of days that I happen to train at this location as a guess when my friend brought me since he is a member.Pros:New equipment, clean and functional.Has all the right equipment, lots of cable stations first time I seen that many on a gym, I counted 5.It didnt seem that overcrowded at all.Has a big pool and even a Jacuzzi.Big parking area since theres not that many things close to interfere with the parking lot from the gym.2 floors with most cardio stuff on the second floor and weights on the first one, high roof makes you feel like you have so much more space.Cons:Is not open 24 hours.Seems pricey, probably the most expensive gym around the south bay area, 35dlls a monthly plus 100dlls initiation fee.Staff was ok, Just not super friendly at least at the front counter.Overall 4 stars in the little time I got to trained here. Good gym, considering joining as a full member in the near future. If money is not the issue I would highly recommend it.

The remodeling is an improvement. A lot cleaner then it used to be. But I preferred the old workout machines. Im thinking of switching over the Eastlake location.

Great place to work out

Trainers guide you on how to use the equipment, relax in whirl pool or swim on pool or walk some laps indors.

This gym is always packed. You cant even workout here because all the machines are taken. You have to wait 20 mins just for a squat rack. It also closes way too early on weekends.

Id like to preface by saying, I am only a member. Theyve all been way awesome! Jupe, the Sales Manager is the Man! He went way out of his way to help me get my membership. Sommer and Jasmine are both extremely helpful (and HOT, but Summer has a ring. What up wit cha Jazzy?) Neli offered to help with my fitness goals even after I told her that Im a Vet, and wouldnt be paying for any support. Mida helped me set up my app on my phone. I dont remember her name but theres a goddess working at night with piercing eyes, and Sales Rep Brian has great hair! Yeah! They get a 5, because they truly, and honestly exceeded my expectations! Im super psyched to be a member of such a promising club! Really, awesome, super, great job guys!Its AaronMr Hansome (if youre nasty!).

Sad that there is no lower than 1 star this review isn’t really about the place it’s about the workers I recently visited the Walmart near it and they were promoting la fitness and I said no to a flyer and the workers laughed at me never ever going here not in a million years.

A The horrible culture of overselling and then trying to milk you for as much as they can by making it difficult to cancel. This is not to bag on the individuals or facility but the company structure.

My only con is that towels aren’t provided :( but I’ve been going there on/off for a couple months now and I’ve had nothing but good workout sessions when I’m there

Gym equipment ok guess, what really upset me is canceled online. 4 months later started getting billed again and told me I have mail cancellation? Said get back to me and they would handle. Low and behold next month rolls around charged again...called again and now can cancel on phone.Very shady wont even deal with again.
