The vehicle we picked up (mini van) was dirty and still had spills on the center console and back door. I would be happy to send you the pictures that are time-stamped from when we picked up the vehicle. The paperwork we received, even stated that due to Covid, our vehicle had been disinfected and cleaned, which is clearly not true.

Rented a car in Nashville even upgraded from a suggestion of the receptionist. New car with 700miles gets flat 40 miles out of Nashville. No spare tire and the road side assistance was terrible. After dealing with all the touch tones and 3 different transfers hrs later they tell me they can not find anyone to assist and police will be called after waiting 4 hrs for road side to fail. police show up and find a tow truck to come that I have to pay out of pocket for. The next day road side states the case was closed bec it was resolved. When in reality the police assisted us and I paid for my tow truck and hotel. Then they couldnt even give me a ride to the rental place and I had to pay again a large fee for a driver to take me. Too many issues with the customer service. Still waiting on my reimbursement.

Overall...I had a great experience renting a from budget and definitely would use them again.I did have a few recommendations:I waited in line for over an hour to get my car. I along with other renters plane landed early. The sign at the indoor Budget counter by baggage claim stated we had to go outside to pick up rental car. So, I walked to that location, only to be 8th or 10th in line. At 8am the agent announced that the counter was now open and if anyone wanted to go inside could do so, but by this time the line was 25 people behind me. No one wanted to move, and the agent received some backlash for making that announcement. After all, that walk was extremely long and no one wanted to lose their spot in line. So, better communication to renters on times of counter opening.Also, please dont have signs in car staying this car has been thoroughly cleaned and sanitized, when clearly it wasnt. It wasnt filthy, but it did have Cheetos under the drivers seat and a few hand prints on the main dashboard. It could have been from the person that clean it, but a handprint is a handprint in this pandemic age.Last but not least, the agent was very great when I got to the counter. I commend her on doing her job for trying to upgrade/upsell me another vehicle. However, when the lines are that long please just give the renter the car he/she purchased. Trying to upsell already agitated customers makes the check in process annoying.I did love the car I was given and red is my favorite color!

Worst airport car rental location, staff was very rude and very inconvenient. Staff barely knew what they were talking about, specifically a lady named Tina tried to get me and my fiancé to pay the under 25 fee even though that is one of budgets best deals for young adults obviously. Further into the scenario the manager Jason was also clueless and knew very little about the business he was managing. In conclusion i was very unhappy with the service

I drove the car from Nashville to Chattanooga, TN for a college visit with my son. We had a tire blow out on our car while driving on the highway at 9pm on day 2 of our 4 day trip. I immediately exited the highway and made it to a gas station. I tried to fill the tire with air to make it to our hotel, but I could hear the air hissing out as I filled it and didnt want to risk damaging the car by driving it. I called the Budget roadside assistance number and proceeded to deal with several hours of incompetence over the next two days. Please review the system for information because I truly dont want to spend anymore time dealing with it, but it was horrible. SO many errors were made, by so many of the employees working the roadside assistance phones, from tow trucks being told to tow the car hours away (and therefore not being able to get a tow truck), to Ubers being sent to pick us up and take us to random towns over two hours away late at night, instead to our hotel four miles away, to asking a tow truck driver to take us to the Budget counter at the Chattanooga airport after midnight to pickup another car that was waiting for us, only to find the airport Budget counter closed. Thank goodness for the nice tow truck driver who got us to our hotel after 1am! This all would have been bad enough, if I hadnt of had to deal with even more incompetence by the roadside assistance folks the next day when trying to get a new car. Basically, I went a day without a car, got a lower class of car than I paid for when I finally got one, and was late to dinner with extended family that drove 2 hours to see us because of roadside assistance taking an hour and a half to get me an Uber to the airport (7 mile drive), and verify a new car would be available for me when I got there (even though I called earlier in the day to proactively make sure we would be good to go). I am 52 years old, and it was by far the worst customer service experience I have had!

BEWARE OF AVIS & BUDGET, Bad experience with Avis 2 years ago, then the same issue with Budget. Masters of the bait & switch with prices they advertise and what you are actually charged per day for the vehicle.Budget is owned by Avis Budget Group, Inc., (NASDAQ: CAR) The same identical tactic was used. They never tell you when you rent the car what they are charging per day. They go over all the things they want to charge you more for but never what the price per day the vehicle will be.I will NEVER use Budget or Avis to rent from. I will permanently have on my license plate cover, DO NOT RENT FROM AVIS OR BUDGET!!! Tried to get my $$$ back from Budget, They wouldnt budge. I booked thru Southwest airlines. They advertised 50$ to $60 per day on their website, but they billed $81.67 per day. Called the agent at Budget, they said I have to go thru Southwest to get the discount which now becomes time and stress to get my refund. I HATE BUDGET/AVIS!!!

First the counter at baggage claim was closed and had to walk a great distance to get to the area. Trunk of car smelled very strange. Tried to exchange the car twice in Tennessee because service engine light came on and tire light also came on. Neither place had any cars available and I was told I had to go to airport. I was no where near any airport.

Initial checkout was a pleasant experience, as it was pretty seamless and the representative at the Nashville Airport location was very friendly and helpful. The car we had, a Mitsubishi small SUV (Outlander) performed well and was comfortable. The final bill was way way higher than the estimate and I was very disappointed by the exorbitant final bill. It seems that my AAA discount was not applied and the initial $129 estimate was obliterated by the $202 final bill. Likely to be hesitant to rent again due to this.

The vehicle I reserved was not available and I was not offered any other option other than a gas hogging SUV. It was frustrating as my gas cost more than doubled. I also needed to extend my rental by a day, and was very displeased with the highway robbery rates charged. It would have been much less expensive to return the car and get a new one day rental than the cost of extending one day. I felt like this was a poor business practice.Returning the car was the worst experience Ive had for a rental car company. The sole staff member was overwhelmed and very surly.

If i have a chance to give a zero i would give him a zero.I had a problem with the vehicle as they were lot of bugs coming out from the truck.Sometimes from A/c, some from the doors.I called 10 times to them asking to change the vehicle for me as my kids were getting scared in middle of freeway.Everytime we have to pull the vehicle and get those bugs out but the customer service was worst, absolutely worst.One guy even said if you dont like it just go to the nearest place and get a vehicle which is absolutely trash as they didnt let me change the vehicle.He was extremely rude,trash customer service.

All in all, the people were great. Renting any car at BNA will be strange as it is a very long walk to the car. I am glad my wife was not with me as she is disabled and would have had allot of difficulty getting to the car and then back to the airport after the return.The car smelled a little strange but was not intolerableThe main reason for the 3 star rating is that the final price of the car was hire than the quote at the time of booking. This is never acceptable and should only be possible if a tax rate changed between booking and renting. Even so, it would be wise for a company to absorb the extra few dollars to get a 4 or 5 star review rather than a 3 star review. For the audience, I think it was the 3% mystery surcharge that made the price exceed the quote.

We rented the vehicle in Tennessee - 90+ heat w/ 90+ humidity. The Air Conditioner did not work. I tried to call several times and did not get through. My son had a very important National event and we were 1.5 hours away. There was no way we had time to exchange the vehicle. NO AC in this kind of weather is uncalled for! I request for someone to call me immediately. I do not want to pay full price for something that didnt work.

New Chevy Challenger was in pretty rough shape, drove like it had been wrecked and had bald tires. Not great on slick roads. You would expect better shape for the price we paid. Kind of scary to drive in the pouring rain.

When I turned in my vehicle, I was charged a Fuel Service fee of $15.99 when I brought the vehicle back full, and a late fee of 20.00 when I brought the car back BEFORE noon. I also charged for an additional day when my rental period was exactly what I had booked for. I was also charged an incredible amount of fees which I was not expecting. My total charges were to be $255.83 and I was charged $428.58. I will never recommend Budget to anyone due to the nature of the business practices.

Customer service was above and beyond. I was behind for my flight, and happened to leave my phone in the car. Car had already gone to the cleaning crew, but the staff got me to my phone and then to the gate on time. Honestly, would have given a 10/10, but system charged me an extra $20 for refueling even though i had filled the tank completely less than one mile away! Not sure how i could have been 2 gallons short.

Waited in line for 30 minutes as expected. Once to the front the woman behind desk comes out and tells everyone in the normal line to go inside that they will now only see Preferred. As I was next I waited. She did everything possible to find someone who was Preferred and not help me. After all that car smelled like smoke and woman at the gate was annoyed that I wanted to note that it smelled like smoke. Couldnt sink another 30 minutes into waiting for a different car. Usually have a better experience with avis/budget.

I never received and email conformation with any kind of info as to where to pick up our car. the airport had no signs as to go in our out of the airport. everyone going towards the rental cars were ALL confused and feeling the same. when we all finally found the place. there was one rental agent and 30 people in line.

I checked in 1 hour prior to reservation time. The agent was not helpful, telling me I was too early and would have to wait. He instructed me I could not wait at the counter and directed me back into the terminal. I decided to take the only upgrade available. The car was dated. It wasnt very clean and the navigation package was antiquated. The agent receiving my car on return was professional and courteous. Overall, it was a poor experience and I doubt I will use Budget in the future. I booked my reservation through Southwest Airlines. I will echo this review through their site as well.

The outside of the vehicle you can tell had a quick wash and the inside was not thoroughly clean as we found someone elses sock. I usually like budget, but the cleaning could of been a little more top notch, especially for how much we paid for a jeep.

Estimated bill was 108.00, I rented for 2 days but had to return the vehicle after 23.5 hours due to a change of plans. Your bill was $246!!! I can understand charging a two day minimum, but I consider what you did as unethical business practices and will not be using you in the future.

Everything went perfect. Had a great Ford Edge SUV with only 3,500 miles, quick time at the counter getting the vehicle and return was also very fast and efficient. Couldnt have asked for a better rental car experience other than the price was expensive but Budget was cheaper than most others for the standard SUV at this time of rental car shortages

This was the worst car rental experience I have ever had. First, they gace us a car that was dirty inside and out....but we were going to deal with it. Then we found out it had an entire colony of ants living in it so we took it back. The lady at the desk was rude when we explained the situation... The replacement vehicle smelled like cigarette smoke so bad my daughter and I were gagging. We ended up with another car that was not vacuumed out at all....so if they didnt bother to vacuum it you know they did not take any disinfecting measures either....so much for extra sanitizing for covid....what a joke. Dont use this company.

These guys turned out to be really a cheat. I usually rely on them to be honest with their billing with respect to the reservation. Here I reserve it online, go pick the car, return with full tank of gas. And they charge me twice the money without any explanation. See my attached pictures of reservation and charges. On calling them up, the would transfer my calls from one to another without having the guts to resolve it. I travel a lot but never had to waste my time over such dishonest billing.Edit: After some effort, I was able to print a receipt (Budget would transfer the phone to Billing and the billing would simply not pick my phone even after waiting for over an hour). Apparently they charged me $105.76 for an additional hour, concession recovery bill of $30.40, and an optional service of $56USD. Shameful, disingenuous and simply disgusting!

The car was wonderful and everything of that nature went swimmingly. However, after checking in, I was directed back to an empty parking space, which Im sure happens on occasion. The problems arose when I was blatantly ignored by several employees who, within five feet of me, choose to look the other way and failed to acknowledge me asking for help. Then the employee at the customer service desk saw me approaching and then continued to exit the booth and quickly walk away and never returned after waiting at the desk for about 20 minutes. So I had to wait another 20 minutes in line in order to ask for directions when I was offered a car in a different space. It went great from then on, no problems at all. Overall I spent an extra 45 minutes from the time of check-in to the time of entering my vehicle which I feel could have been avoided.

The agent did not tell us they substituted an SUV for the standard car we purchased, we found out at the end when we were handed the paperwork. Also, they did not tell us the car had moderate damage, we discovered this upon our walk to the car. All 4 sides and inside had damage, including a crack in the windshield. There were no warnings provided by any agent, so we took pictures at the car, hoping we did not later get charged for any existing damage. It was not professionally done and also not the cheapest, so next time we rent a car we will go with someone other than Budget/Avis. Especially since we were given an old, damaged rental at the rate we paid.

Rented a car from Tammy for 2 days and possibly extend an extra day. Tammy disclosed my rate for an addtl day. With the rate in mind, it was worth it to just extend for another day so i did. Long story short my final receipt reflected a late fee tacked on to my addtl day rate disclosed. Tammy never told me i had to actually call to extend. I called CS and they wouldnt refund me this late fee. Ive been in CS 15yrs and this is UNACCEPTABLE. First time using Budget and will be last. I WILL BE SPREADING THE WORD

We did not drive our rental for 3 days after picking it up. We had work to do while visiting family and used their truck. On the 3rd day we were rushed to finish many things before getting to the airport to return home. The battery was now dead on the rental and it took an extra 45 minutes to get it started. During this time, I called Budgets road side assistance in case we could not get it running. Nobody ever answered after 15 min. of waiting. This could have been a bad situation if we had been stranded in a undesirable location. These vehicles should go through better maintenance testing before being rented.

We rented a car from BNA airport. When we got our rental car the service and transaction was fine. When we returned the rental car it was a different story. The lady that was at the booth. Was shacking her head at us from across the parking lot. Eventually she drove up to my husband with her continued attitude and said, Hey bro! before she could finish her sentence I told her his name wasnt bro it was XYZ. Later after going to the booth to turn in the keys for the rental car we were told the car was parking in the wrong place for Returns I get it thats fine. Airports are confusing and sometimes guests get a little turned around. All the young lady had to do was tell us were to go instead of giving us such an attitude. We wont be working with Budget Car Rental anymore.

Had to go way too far. The person pushing the wheelchair was confused where to go. We were told we were in wrong place but she helped us anyway. I am concerned how to get a wheelchair to the airport upon return. Found one. My companion with a wrist brace had to try to maneuver it. There are ADA 2000 and Travel laws that make this a violation for those not accommodating the disabled. Loved the car. Not a fan of the service.

The vehicle was dirty inside, smelled like smoke and that someone had been living it without showering for days, dog hair and dirt in seats. This has to be the worst rental I have ever had and have been renting cars for years. I am allergic to smoke and dogs. When we picked it up, the windows were down at about 11pm at night. We headed out and didnt realize the smell until we were already gone on the road. I sent the next day sick because of it. One day lost on our family vacation for no reason other than some employee being lazy and not pulling it out of service. It also had a warning light on the dash that said maintenance was required. Very disappointed in this rental.

Scam alert: Nashville Airport Budget.Just rented from them. Returned the tank full. They would not provide a receipt at the counter and said they would e-mail one. The e-mailed receipt showed the tank returned half empty and a $53 fuel charge. Returned to the counter with a photo of the fuel gauge at return time and a fuel receipt. The manager blamed it on a known glitch. Based on the reactions of the employees at the counter, they are aware of this problem. So, be sure to keep photos of your car including the fuel gauge and any fuel receipts, and be ready to go back to the counter, because they wont deal with you over the phone.

The absolute worst experience of my life with a car rental company, and I travel A LOT ! Picked up the car in Lexington KY, car was a mess and had no sanitation sticker on it (during covid), could care less honestly but its just one of the many problems with this rental. Chose the church st location in Nashville to drop my car off, happened to be in February during the middle of a snow storm, so they were closed. Ok I understand, I called to ask if I could return tomorrow. They informed me to bring the car to the airport or I would be charged. I let them know there were accidents all over the roads, not plowed and completely unsafe. Also I never chose the airport location. They would not allow me to park the car at the church st with the keys in the car. Then I would have to get into a car back to downtown with a local who has never driven in the snow. Completely unsafe and inhumane that they wanted me to risk our safety but they get to close down the location I was supposed to drop of the car for their employees safety. For two days the location was closed and the roads were a mess ( I grew up in Boston I am well aware how to drive in snow.) We dropped the car off at the airport on the last day of vacation. We got charged $250 for returning it late, again none of that was my fault. 4 months later to the date I get a letter in the mail, an invoice for $76.00 stating there was tire damage and they were charging my card for it. Im sorry, what?! First of all we inspected the car and tool photos and there was no damage. And 4 months later I get this letter?? Dated exactly 4 months after the date we picked up the car! I will never in my life use this company again. Adios budget, stay true to your name.

The Nashville representative was accommodating and provided great customer service. However, due to our flight being delayed by Southwest we were still charged for the day we missed. Also, the Kia Sorrento was not cleaned on the outside. It clean on the inside. When returning the car in New Orleans the customer service was lacking. Not very friendly. Thanks.

This particular budget is acting outside of budgets own terms and conditions. I confirmed my reservation made online through a third party, with the budget Call Center and they confirmed the reservation was good and I shouldve been able to collect the vehicle. Instead at the desk the staff refused to release the car because the voucher I had, had a certain code which indicates that as a US resident I am unable to enjoy the low rate I obtained online?? so budget clearly offer a lower rates to non-US residents? I eventually booked another car with Tipoa. This particular budget location is obviously using devious tactics to get people to the desk and then offer them a much higher cost vehicle on the basis they cannot provide the vehicle I booked because of this code. Be very careful with with budget. Even their own Call Center is unable to contact the desk directly and have no control over the staff.

I left a disability play card in the SUV.I called Budget on retrieving the card, and got such the run around, and never got a number to get the card back.One of the numbers said I needed to do a claim, which I did.The problems is I feel I should not have to pay $37.00, that is my property .I have not received a call as of yet.Budget has my number and email.I will appreciate if I get a call and and get the disability card back as soon as possible.Sharon Lacy

I got double charged by both Priceline and Budget for the car I rented. The voice said less than a 30 min wait both times I called. Then I spent 30 min on hold waiting to talk to someone. Im confused and intrigued by how many extremely specific subsets of financial customer service it navigates you through. Yet despite the specificity, my 2nd call lasted over an hr also with 0 response. It regularly prompts you to hang up and comment on their website, because they dont believe in human service to customers. Just 90 min of bounce obnoxious music to drive you off the line. How many people are having problems with Budget that they cant manage to operate a functional customer service hotline???

I was given a car from Nashville Airport with expired tags. Once I got to my Kentucky destination, I realized it and I called the same day I rented it to inform Budget. I was told to drive to Evansville Regional Airport (2 1/2 hours round trip) to get an exchange, but the Evansville Regional Airport Manager said she was not notified of the exchange plan and was very rude to me. So I drove this same car from 5/1/21 to 5/4/21 with expired tags, which made me very nervous. Plus I was out the time and gas it took to get to the Evansville Airport. I was told I may get a one day credit, but Im not sure that will happen. Plus I never received a final receipt in my email, like I was told I would, when I dropped off the car. I was very unhappy with Budget and the rude employees that I dealt with. I will never ever rent from them again.

The gentlemen Mohammed who served me in the beginning was great,courteous,&took care of my needs. He was also very professional..But then when the vehicle was returned charges were added that werent supposed to be added like an extra day and fuel charges. And if I hadnt of checked my account nothing would have changed. And I have never experienced this from any location except for this one. Yes it was taken care of but the fact that it happened disappointed me.

The walk from getting my bags to the rental cars was really l o n g. Im ADA. When I ask for a shuttle, they said there wasnt one. I had to walk. Not good... For me particularly.There were bullet holes, 2 in the door and one in the roof. The drivers seat was totally coming apart. The car smelled terrible, like old and musty.There was no one to tell theses things to when we drove off the lot, we literally just drove off and werent trying to hassle with getting another car.

The check out and check in was seamless, but we were disappointed in our car. The tires were very worn and about an 15 minutes into our drive - the oil light message came on stating it was time for an oil change. Every time we started the car and randomly throughout the rental it beeped at us. We mostly worried about the tires being bald as we were driving in some wet weather. We upgraded to a SUV (Toyota 4Runner size) and got a Dogde Journey. We understand the car shortage but but there were other cars on the lot that were more compatible with a 4Runner. Disappointing.

Part of the time I was driving the car on vacation I had to drive in rain. The windshield wipers on this car were absolutely awful. Wasnt even worth turning them on as all they did was smear the rain. I would think that everything on the car would be checked over to make sure it is safe for people to drive. This was NOT safe.

As a walk up customer I will not rent from an airline location again but from a stand alone store. The car was not properly cleaned. I found sand in the back bench seat of the van and splattered drink on the inside of the passenger side back door. The front passenger tire needs to be replaced. The tread was low and uneven indicating poor alignment or air pressure. I did not see the tread issue due to poor lighting in the pick up area. My wait to get my paperwork was long due to one attendant actually working. The other was busy telling people they were in the wrong line and ignoring those who walked up to her counter. The vehicle itself was a good choice for our trip, but I will not go back to the airport for rentals ever again.

Once we got to the rental office there were a lot of up charges that were unannounced and unexpected. The biggest kick in the gut was your agent attached another whole day to the contract, without telling me first because we were less than 30 minutes early for pickup. I feel that Budget is a ripoff!

As expressed to your customer service team, my wife was deliberately misquoted on the price and coverage of the reservation, and then quickly asked for her credit card. I was unable to attend her 30th birthday trip to Nashville, so she was unaware of the details of this reservation. This aggressive behavior from Budgets team in Nashville is a clear lack of controls in Budgets business operations, and I believe she was targeted and taken advantage of by the rep in Nashville. After agreeing with me, Budgets service team offered to split the difference of the additional charges that were acquired, again, through Budgets own predatory up-charging. The justification for this was the coverage we received while in use of the car. While a decent rebuttal, this is the equivalent of hiring an hourly security guard for my home while Im away, then receiving an invoice upon return for the 24/7 para-military body guard services I was actually charged for, then being offered to split the difference. I will never once use nor recommend Budget again.

Price on pickup was almost double what was quoted on the reservation. When I asked for an explanation and to remove extra added expenses the representative began to get very rude. He was extremely condescending when I asked about the change in price and did not hide his frustration when I refused to pay for more expensive options. It is not unreasonable for someone to question the price almost doubling when arriving for pick up or to know what each expense is for. If this information was clear upon reservation I could make an informed decision on who to rent with. I have never paid this much for a rental car before and would never have made the reservation if I had known how much Id actually have to pay.

Would rate zero stars if possible. Please be aware the Budget at the Memphis International Airport is a privately owned location. Calling the 800 Customer Service Number is useless and futile. Be mindful this location CLOSES AT 11pm. DO NOT LISTEN to the Budget Customer Service agents. They will not wait for your flight if it arrives after 11 pm. They will not make any alternative arrangements. They will leave you stranded at the airport overnight. Also be mindful, Lyft and Uber service has limited availability. If your flight is going to arrive after 11 pm, IMMEDIATELY make other arrangements with another rental company or you will arrive at the counter and no one will be there. To add insult to injury they will have the audacity to charge you for a NO SHOW/CANCELATION. Atrocious!

From the moment I went to pick up my rental car, I was constantly hounded to upgrade, or get additional coverage, etc., etc. Courtesy-wise, the person with whom I dealt was okay, but I never got the feeling that she cared about me one way or the other. In addition, it seems that my cost has been inflated somewhat from the original price I was quoted, not to mention that there are two $250 charges pending on my credit card. I understand one (to cover any incidentals that may occur), but not two. Ill have to wait until the final charges are posted. As far as the car itself, it was a great rental. I have no problems with it. I did return the car with a full tank; fuller than when I got it. Like I said, Ill see how the final tally looks before possibly taking any action.

If you can go anywhere else but here. I was charged for two vehicles once for 600 then up graded to larger vehicle and was charged for both ??? When I called to figure out why i was told charge would come off as soon as I return vehicle so here i a with a 1300 charge for 400 dollars of car :( no help no way to figure out or fix just screwed.

The lady at the Avis counter was fairly rude she just wanted to upgrade us to a bigger car. After leaving the parking lot we realized that the car had not been cleaned properly the brush scraper for the snow was broken and the cars traction control would not turn off we could not even make it up the hill to the hotel I called Budget a nice gentleman named Daniel helped us. He sent us back to the airport terminal to get a bigger SUV upon arriving there the same lady from the Avis counter denied the opportunity for us to have a bigger SUV I finally did get an all-wheel drive car out of her there was a another gentleman with his 85-year-old father arguing with the manager on the budget side of things and a third person in line that was having issues with their car as well No windshield wiper fluid!! I will not be running from budget again unless someone can contact me and help resolve my concerns with your rental car customer service! Best Jason Arnold

The car was not what I expected. The class I selected was mid size SUV the car I got was small SUV at best. But the reason I would not be renting from you again is because the service was not acceptable. 19 people in line and only one person writing contracts is not acceptable. Then I called customer service and was hung up on.

I was overcharged for fuel. I rented the car for one day, turned down the fuel option, only drove 53 miles, topped the car off with gas prior to returning and I was still charged $19 for fuel service. I disputed the charge and it was reversed, but I suspect this may be a systemic problem. Has anyone else been overcharged for fuel service at Budget?
