Parking out front. ATM inside. $20 for a mens haircut.
I got my haircut here 4 or 5 times a couple years ago. But I could never get them to cut it short enough. I stopped going to them for a long time because they wouldnt listen. So Ive been getting my haircut at another place for awhile and have been very happy with the cut but I needed one last minute today and they had no openings so reluctantly I gave Belle Mead Barber shop one more chance. Before I went I called and asked them if they could do a bald fade. The guy on the phone laughed and said sure he can do it just come on by. So I got there and asked him again because his laugh made me wonder if he knew what I was talking about. He said he laughed because ...only black people call it a bald fade. White people call it a taper or just plain fade. (Im white) I didnt care much for his racism or his attitude but I figured at least he could do the cut. So while he was cutting away I was explaining why I call it a bald fade instead of just a fade and how if I dont call it that then barbers will never cut the fade short enough (bald=down to the skin how I like it). So after explaining in great detail what I wanted he gets done and hands me a mirror. I took one look and said this isnt a bald fade at which point he started arguing that it was. While his father (the owner) chimed in to tell me this is what they call a bald fade. I had to actually explain to them that Bald doesnt mean short. Bald means BALD. As in down to the skin like with a razor. He then said well we dont do that here. And charged me $18 for the haircut. What kind of BS barber shop is this. Racist, arrogant, dishonest, and will never get this customers business again.
A true barber shop! No appointments required cash only ATM on site fast friendly and professionally done! Dont get fooled by fancy barber shops that pretend to be old fashioned but use computers and the internet to schedule appointments! If your barber requires an appointment chances are your at a salon. And if youre at a salon double check to see if your a man! Great place here!
I’ve been going to Belle Meade Barber Shop for a about 50 years and it continues to be a great place.
Chad was awesome! A real barber shop!
Great place and haircut. Professional, honest, and awesome haircuts!
Awesome barber shop! Got a great haircut for a great price! The barber was very professional and friendly. If you are going to haircut chains, you need to come here instead, for a better experience and results!
They are not professional and their racist as well...This was my cousins experience....I just came up here to get a hair cut I ask for a line and a taper. First thing, if u dont know how to cut African Americans you should of said just that. I paid 15 for a patch in my head, then when my girl call he said my hair was nappy. Your job wasnt to judge me, your job was to tell me that you didnt really know what you were doing, then you laughed in my face. I would never spend money with this suppose to be place of business. Im sitting up talking like ever other man in a barbershop, they treated me like I didnt exist, didnt even respond to me when I joined the conversation. They also mentioned that black people should comb there hair before coming to the barbershop. Now I went to International Barbering and learn from the best. You are trained to cut any type of hair, just say you dont cut people of color hair.
Its a nice place, good price at 15$. I went on a Monday and did not have to wait at all. The guy that cut my hair had been cutting hair for 38 year. There experienced and can help get you looking good
I have a toddler who has screamed bloddy murder through his first two haircuts (at baby orientated specialty shops no less) The younger gentleman with the long black hair (kicking myself myfor not getting his name!!) cut my sons hair this morning and was so good with him, there were no tears! He was slow and explained what he was doing and kept my 2yr old from freaking out. So thankful!
I cant recommend Belle Meade Barber Shop enough. Theyre just a great group of guys and are fantastic at their job. Its a true family owned business where you can feel right at home anytime you come in.
Ive gone here exclusively for a few years and have never received a bad haircut. The barbers are all super friendly. The only reason I cant give it 5 stars is because sometimes theyll go into conspiracy theories and right wing politics which Im not a huge fan of. If you like that sort of thing or can bite your tongue like me, great place. If that type of conversation is a turn off, you may want to look elesewhere for a haircut.
Best haircut Ive had in years! Traditional southern barbershop with very welcoming and friendly barbers. After going for the first time I will defiantly be a return customer for the foreseeable future.
I’m usually not one to say any store deserves 0 stars but if I could give them 0 then I would do it in a heartbeat. I came in and they sat me down pretty quickly which was great so far so good right? Wrong he sat me down and I tried to start a conversation with the man i asked how long he had been cutting hair and he sarcastically replied “I’m old enough to be your grandpa” I ignored the comment and tried to start up conversation another way only to meet more sarcastic remarks. Then I asked him to use clippers on the side with a two guard and I asked him to scissor cut the top and take a inch off the top. He did alright with the sides but I could have done a better job with it, but then he started on the top of the hair and instead of using scissors he just grabbed his clippers and cut the top with those. If that’s what I wanted I would have asked him to do that for me. In the end he took off two and a half inches off the top and he didn’t even get the sideburns even then they had the nerve to charge me 18 dollars for the trash haircut they gave me. I will not be back and I don’t recommend even giving them a shot I could have done a better Job cutting my own hair.
{Edit: Take note of the people giving rave reviews here, their haircuts are very simple. This just isnt the place for a person with more hair style. They dont use a razor at all if that tells you anything. & going through other reviews it seems theres a trend of racism, sarcasm, unprofessionalism and lack of skill in their art}I don’t ever review anything so this is a first but it’s all I can do since I was disrespected and couldn’t get a refund. (0/5) So I got a bad haircut, okay it can happen, I get it. Although when I went back to ask for a refund because I had to fix my hair myself at home (yes it was that bad) I stated how I was very unhappy with their service and how im a college student so I cant let this slide for my hard earned $20. Thats when they accused me of being cheap and broke and that I belong at Goodwill? It was a bad insult at that but I was still completely respectful, didn’t raise my voice or use sarcasm as they did. They offered to try again on my hair but the damage was already done. Not a business you should give your money to.
One of the best barbershops in Nashville. They moved to this new location from Harding, but the atmosphere, barbershop chairs, and friendly faces are still there. The perfect way to get a good old fashioned haircut.
Great barber shop. Never had a bad haircut. This is the one youre looking for.
We have always heard great things so my husband was excited to try them out. We went on a Saturday and found the door locked. When we looked inside we say three employees with customers who all looked at us and then just went back to their work. We knocked and finally one of the employees cracked the door open a few inches to tell us they were closing early (this was 4 hours before they were scheduled to close and there was no sign on the door). He spoke to us as if we were extremely rude for knocking and then abruptly shut the door in our faces. The encounter was extremely uncomfortable and some of the worst customer service we have ever experienced. We are very disappointed and will never return.
These guys are great. Always friendly, they do a good job.
Old fashin Barber Shop...the kind you went to as a kid. This is where I get my hair cut...guys are nice, the place is clean and the conversation is friendly.Great cut for a good price.
Simply a great barbershop. Friendly staff and an excellent cut. I will definitely be back.
Dont go to a chain barber shop, go here. These guys are great. Just some good ol boys that dont mean no harm. Family owned, not corporate. I have never walked out with a bad haircut. Thanks guys!
Couldnt be happier with my experience at BMBS. Been going to these guys since they first opened and i am always met with a smile and a hows it going. Bellevue is lucky to have such a fine group of barbers and such a fine service business.
Been coming here since I moved to the Nashville area. ALWAYS a great cut with great banter!
First of all, I was there when Davis, Lauren, and Chimney or Chymia whatever (2 of the 3) came into the Barber Shop, and everything theyve claimed is false...except that the gentleman got his hair cut there. He acted a fool and tried to get a $5 refund instead of getting his line fixed. The barber offered several times to fix it for him but nooooooo. Always wanting something for free or at a discount, classic. Anyway they didnt engage the barbers in conversation once, so Im not sure why they are saying that the barbers acted like they werent there. I know I was acting like they werent there, because when all that you talk about is your homies in the hood in Memphis getting killed, I want nothing to do with you. Ive been going to the BMBS for over four years now and Ive never heard a racist word come out of any of their mouths. After the man didnt get his $5 refund, he slammed his hand up against the glass window on the way out. Then he drove up to the front of the shop and threw a plastic soda bottle at one of the barber shop employees. These people acted like classless animals, while the barbers maintained their cool the entire time. Im glad theyre never coming back. I dont want trash like that interfering with my pleasant experiences there anyway. Take your ghetto hood rat selves back to Memphis!! I just thought Id set the record straight here. I love the BMBS. Keep up the good work boys!
Making America great - one haircut at a time.
So I just left with my boyfriend omg Im so disappointed he ask for a taper and a line both guys were older look like they been cutting 10 years plus my boyfriend was talking nobody was responsive to him I dont know if it was because he was black or the guy didnt know what he was doing I felt so out of place I been living on belluvue 20 years plus I will never be back if u tell somebody u know how to cut hair and u dont own up to your word so not cool

I asked for 1.5 inches on the top and they gave me 0.5 inches and butchered my hair completely. Do not come here.
