Joan who works at the counter is so helpful! She always gets me the car I want and with a great price. I love renting from here and will only use Hertz on Nantucket. Thank you for the amazing service!
Inept counter service and a 3. hour wait for our reserved car to be cleaned. Pure nonsense. A perfect storm of rudeness and horrible service.
I rented a car for 5 days on the island and I prepaid for it months in advance. When I got to the counter the lady was very rude and told me I had to put down another $1400 as a hold. I was unaware of that policy because I had never experienced that large of a hold on a prepaid car with any other rental company. She was annoyed and dismissive when I was trying to figure out how I was going to come up with $1400. After I quickly shuffled some money around we were on our way. The car was what I expected and the return was easy. Fast forward 2 weeks after I returned the car and I still have this charge on my account that I was told would be given back to me 7-10 days after the car was returned. I have called hertz customer service and they have also been dismissive and told me it was my banks fault. I called my bank and they just confirmed they double charged me and the hold has been released to be for some time. I will not be using them again and I suggest you find another rental company.
By far the worst service I have ever had. I would not recommend this particular Hertz location to anyone. The lady I dealt with was very rude and unprofessional. Don’t call her if you have a concern or question about a charge that shows up from Hertz on your card out of nowhere. You will basically be told to take it up with your bank that it is not her problem. There are other rental car options on the island, I would suggest using them.
