When I lived in Myrtle Beach, Iron Legacy was my home gym. When I return to the area to visit my wife’s family, I can’t wait to train at Iron Legacy. Out of the numerous gyms I have worked out at throughout my life, nothing compares to here. The mix of incredible owners, old school feel, and courteous gym-goers all contribute to this special feeling. The outstanding equipment is vast, a studio is available, and rates are fair. Iron Legacy is the best.

I visited Iron legacy gym for my weekend trip at Myrtle beach. The welcoming people and abundance of equipment makes us what makes up this great gym. The 10 dollar day pass was easily the best 10 dollars i ever spent and the highlight of my beach trip!! Will definitely be coming back to Iron legacy anytime I am in myrtle beach

Honestly now probably my favorite gym. Perfect old school bodybuilding gym with a ton of character ane unique equipment you dont find at commercial gyms. If you love to lift and on vacation this is definitely the spot to go to week/day passes are perfectly priced and the staff is so friendly. Will be lifting here every time I come to myrtle from now on!

We just came to Mrytle Beach for the week and needed a gym to go to. If you reading this you probably understand how hit or miss this is on vacations. Im going to give you the piece of mind to stop looking and drop in this one! If you want to keep those gains coming this is a decent size gym. Regulars are welcoming to you and have good gym etiquette! Old school iron weights and the drop in rate is not bad at all (I dont remember what it was but we didnt flinch at all, so I call it a win!) It may not be your home gym, but I guarantee if you lived here it probably would be. Definitely recommend to everyone and will definitely be my mrytle beach gym.

What a gem. Great staff and plenty of modern equipment done tastefully in the classic bodybuilding style (aka tried and tested). This gym has nailed the formula and Id nothing less than a fanastic tribute to the classic Golds Gyms of years past.

The only gym where I can lift the way I want to, wear what I want to, and train the way I need to. ( All of this is done in a respectful and appropriate way of course )So many times you go to a gym and you get tied down with spending a plethora of cash and abundance of rules, but Iron Legacy does it the right way ..The price isn’t outrageous especially of your military, a first responder, or local and the rules are all responsible.The only dink I could give this place is the amount space but this is also what makes it so much better as a gym too and the cleanest and that’s really on the customers than the owners . Some people do not use theirs gym etiquette at times but it’s very minimal and as long as your practicing your own, their wouldn’t be a issue.Overall awesome gym !!!

I love this gym. Owner is very friendly and the place is STACKED with amazing equipment. Ive got a shoulder injury right now thats been limiting my pressing movements but they actually had several machines there that allowed to to train full Range of Motion with no pain.I dont live in town but if I did, this would be my home gym

The level or rudeness and disrespect that I received from this place was unbelievable! The staff here got really upset at me for making too much noise, which made me make because I was trying be best not to make noise but their equipment was rattling. Multiple people on the staff were then petty enough to talk about me loud enough that I could hear them from across the gym. After an eternity of that I decided I’d had enough and left without even finishing my workout. I will never go back here again.

Health and fitness are an important part of my life. The mind and soul are just as important as the body. This reason is why Ive chose Golds Gym in Myrtle Beach. Since 2009 when I fell in love with this beautiful city one of my most favorite parts of visiting here is going to Golds gym. I have trouble getting motivated in commercialized gyms like Planet fitness, LA etc. This is an old school real gym and you will most certainly get results. The family that operates this gym is great. So kind and full of knowledge pertaining to not just this industry but life itself. The bathroom is incredibly nice .Their dumbbells are the best, one cast iron and going up to 150 lbs+ and all iron plates. Most gyms have sold out and got the cheap rubber ones that are certainly not as effective. The equipment is well taken care of and Ive met some great people from all over the country here and some celebrities. No judgementalness. Im from Philly and have been to all types of gyms, but this one takes the cake.-Mike Cameron

Gym is absolutley awesome. Great atmosphere, good people, and a friendly staff that will go above and beyond for you at this gym. More of a serious lifter gym and that is what I like. Even if you are not a serious lifter the staff and members are always polite and friendly filled with great advice. The staff is very professional and flexible with monthly rates. Im just in Myrtle for work and this is hands down my favorite gym in the area when Im here.

Iron Legacy has been a part of my fitness inspiration journey from when I started the bodybuilding lifestyle as a young teenager in the 1980s. So grateful the people Iron Legacy was there then and now!

Sometimes its hard to find a good gym while on vacation but this Golds Gym exceeded my needs! Very friendly staff, extremely clean, well maintained and they have some awesome machines that you dont see in many gyms anymore. All the members are friendly and it has a great atmosphere. My only disappointment is I cant train here more often!

The equipment at this gym is the best. I am going to miss the leg curl and leg extension that can be adjusted for short legs. The owners of this gym are so friendly and I enjoyed getting to love on their dogs.

Was a first timer there, came with my family they are big lifters and I am a novice. I wasnt mad to feel welcome. If you are getting personal trainer then you will love it but if you are some one working out on your own they will run you off machines that they are using for the folks they are training. A lot of the locals will also run off from your space. They will move your equipment and then put there stuff on it. Wont go back

Loved visiting this gym. They have a great blend of an old school gym and modern services. This is the most freindly and non intimidating staff of any golds gym I have been to. For non golds members they have the best daily or weekly rate in Myrtle Beach. If your looking for a great gym check them out.

I thoroughly enjoyed my weekly membership. I took Body Pump twice and Body Combat once. My favorite class is Combat with Pump coming in a close second. Loved the Combat instructors on Tuesday!! They kicked my butt in an awesome way!! Loved my Pump instructors especially the instructor on Monday. He did a great job and was very motivating. I am going to miss LES MILLS greatly as my gym at home got rid of the Les Mills programs and replaced them. I plan to come back again next summer for another round :)!!0

LOVE IRON LEGACY! Joined this gym at age 49 with no experience and an abundance of intimidation and fear that I couldn’t do it. 3 years later I am in the best shape of my life as I have learned more than I can type in this space. Cardio, weight lifting, nutrition, all of it. Nancy Capp, owner and trainer, changed my life and I will be a forever member. The entire staff is friendly and helpful with questions and other members are as well. This gym attracts all types of people from serious lifters to beginners or just those looking for cardio. We all share a space with no judgment and with good spirit in reaching our own individual goals.

Visiting from out of town. The friendliest gym Ive ever been to. My husband was able to stay committed to the 12 week challenge and I took a great class.

Real old school gym. I like it actually. Good body building vibe around the gym. I got a great work out in. Made me feel good. Only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is the locker rooms and the bathroom. Wasnt clean and the lockers need to be updated. Just some little upgrades and its prime time.

Always look forward to coming to this town and going to this gym. It has a real feel environment and a fun but intense atmosphere. This is my favorite gym, hamds down.

Possibly the best gym Ive ever joined. It has a truly family like atmosphere, fostered by the owners; the staff is actually all family. They are all extremely accomodating and helpful. All live a fitness lifestyle and can talk and educate on the full range of topics...from workout advice to nutrition to encouraging you to join in on one their classes. The equipment isnt of the prepackaged kind, it is a mix of the best machines from the different manufacturers. This is a real gym...not a fitness center where you go to walk on the treadmill and talk to your friends. The other members are friendly and let you work in on machines normally and when appropriate. They have a full complement of classes from combat to yoga with great instructors. The prices at the juice bar and in the pro shop are extremely reasonable and membership prices are comparable to any other health club in Myrtle Beach and in my opinion, you get a lot more for the $$. An overall great gym.

Ive travelled all over the world for work and finding a gym away from home is always a hit and miss.But at least in myrtle beach I know where Im going! This golds is just like a gym should be. A mix of old school atmosphere but not too old. The crowds is just my type. They lift and come to workout not play.They do a week pass (VERY reasonable!). All the equipment you need, always clean, weights in place and an owner and stuff that care.Congratulations gold gym myrtle beach. U rock.

Ive been in gyms for over 30 years. This may be the best combination of a hard core gym and friendly staff Ive ever been in. My family was in myrtle Beach on vacation and the staff made us feel very welcomed. My sons and I went there almost every day of our vacation. We plan on coming back to Myrtle Beach next year instead of another beach, and the gym is one of the reasons why. Cant say enough good things about the staff and atmosphere.

Came in from out of town and wanted to work out... Front desk was extremely helpful validating my membership and getting me to the weights. Zack understands customer service and if I lived here I would lift at this gym regularly

This is EXACTLY what a gym should be. It is the perfect gym for people who care about working hard. Ran by a pro bodybuilder Ted Capp who is a fountain of information and willing to share. I wish we still had gyms like this in Connecticut.

We were on vacation and decided to hit the gym a few times while there. We never came back after our vist. My husband and I took my 17 year old brother with us and the lady (I believe her and her husband were the owners) accidentally charged him $56.00 instead of $5.00. Instead of immediately apologizing and fixing the situation, she began laughing like it was funny what she did. She actually didnt even notice the mistake, it was her husband that pointed it out to her. She canceled the transaction but it took 4 days for the charge to be reversed in my brothers account. So, the whole time we were on vacation he had no spending money. After she corrected that, she still charged him $5.00 to get in! The least she could have done was let him in free after draining his account! She goes on to tell us that she has done this before to other customers, charging someone $300.00 instead of $30.00 once! Obviously this is a common mistake she makes. As an owner of a business you should be more put together than this and if you cant handle numbers dont work the register where you will be entering numbers and swiping peoples cards. After this she then walked around the gym for probably 10 minutes looking for the business phone she lost on the floor. As far as the actual gym: we were extremely disappointed with the facility and the lack of room. We were literally on top of other people trying to lift. We were extremely disappointed with both the staff and facility.

Visiting the Cherry Grove Beach area from Rock Hill, my wife and I decided to hit some heavy iron at this gym. This location is smaller than most Golds Gyms I have visited from the Carolinas to California but is packed with a plethora of old school weight machines, which means I was able to fit my 610 frame in them. My wife found comfort in the dumbbells and machines as well. This is a true bodybuilder gym so dont expect an immaculate, upscale, brown-noser gym. The owners were exceptionally polite, especially Trey working the front desk. They also have some nice, reasonably priced t-shirts for sale, that have their gym location name.

Best gym in Myrtle Beach. Been conning here on vacation for the last 3 years and I always go a few times during the week. Staff are very friendly. They have everything I need to get my workout in. Some have complained that the equipment is dated or old. Its a strength gym not Planet Fitness. All the machines I saw where Im working order and not in bad shape. The only gripe I could possibly have would be the restrooms. I will definitely be conning back whenever Im in town..

The staff are exceptional, and the gym has a traditional feel and look. Not youre fancy country club, pansy ass place. Its what a real gym should be if you want to work out.

We train here every time we come to Myrtle Beach. Clean. Great atmosphere. Smaller building but all the regulars are friendly and welcome the out-of-towners.

Loaded with good equipment and machines for just about every muscle group! Dumb bells go up to 150 lbs. Cool people. T shirts/tanks, pre-workout, protien shakes, water, etc. sold at the front desk. Not a very big facility but great for people who take their workouts seriously. Definitely for PEOPLE THAT LIFT! If your looking for pretty colored walls and air conditioning on full blast this aint for you....

This gym is awesome. The classes they have are great especially for someone like me who doesnt know what to do when working out alone or gets bored easily with working out. Body Pump class is my favorite. The instructors here hold my attention well and wear me out! Staff if very friendly, knowledgable, and willing to help answer questions or show me how to do something correctly

I really liked the gym the first day but I came home and there was rust on my shirt and its now ruined. A nice 40$ shirt but that doesnt matter I go the next day and the gym owner was very rude and gave us a hard time cause someone said it was 30 and ended up being 40 per month but I still really didnt mind. The problem was Ted the gym owner the old guy. I tend to be very calm with people but he gave such a rude comment about planet fitness and said were the last hard core gym if your looking for a gym go to planet fitness and eat candy or what ever but still I wish I can go there because my uncle was there when he was my age and now there giving us a hard time. Dirty dirty very unclean gym with twenty year old equipment and urine and rust all over the bathroom floor. Terribly rude gym owner and even worse no brand name body master quipment. Carolina fitness is way cleaner,better floor plan, and top notch quipment for only 25 a month!!! Way better value and nice staff! Never again 86 golds gym just shut the doors on your way out of business anyways

I am a golds member in another state and wanted to workout while I was in SC. I have never been treated SO RUDELY!!! The customer service rep acted as though I was interrupting his day, was absolutely condescending, and treated me as though o had no right to be there. The place is dirty and the equipment is old and rusted. The rust rubbed off and ruined my clothes. The locker rooms are disgusting and in awful shape. This gym as a whole, really needs to be updated and cleaned. Also they may want to think about hiring new staff! Poor, POOR experience here. I have never had this kind of issue with any other Golds Gym. Ever.

Ive been coming here for years, I love the tight knit family oriented atmosphere that the Capps have here! I love Ted, Nancy, Tre Ali, Carli, Mo and the doggies. Id highly recommend you join the Golds family
