Metropolitan appliance came out to service my elderly mothers refrigerator for a bad door seal on the freezer door, when Tyler showed up the seal he had with him was badly deformed. My mother expressed her concern to him about the deformed door seal and she was told it would reform its shape after it was installed. The freezer door is still not sealing properly and ice chunks are falling off the bottom of the door by the deformed seal. Tyler returned to repair the seal once again and requested a service fee for work that wasnt performed properly in the first place. Which my mother refused to pay. The second attempt to repair the door seal was unsuccessful and ice is still forming and fall off the freezer door seal. Metropolitan Appliance is refusing to service their faulty workmanship with out a service fee. A reputable repair company would replace the defective door seal that they provided with a new seal at no additional charge. DONT USE METROPOLITAN APPLIANCE. THEY ONLY WANT YOUR MONEY.Second response: My parents had to leave town for a while and wasnt able to get back to you with in 30 days. This was a door seal, and the facts remain the same. Your tech was out twice and didnt get it repaired correctly the second time either. And the second call was in less than 30 days of your second attempt to fix it right. Poor workmanship is poor workmanship. We found someone else to make the repair now, and his first concern was fixing the seal correctly, not how fast he could leave and collect the money. I stand behind my claim DONT USE METROPOLITAN APPLIANCE!!

I had an appointment set through Consumers Energy (have done this many other times in past) told that Metro. App would call the day of when on the way and my window was 12 noon-4 pm. I got a call at 9 am on the day of appt and said they were at the house. I attempted to explain and told that they left a voicemail on 7/27 ( I had not seen the voicemail) When I listened to it later this morning after a horrible phone conversation with Metro App, it had been requested that I contact them to confirm the DATE and that it was our stove top. Now because I had not gotten the voicemail, I never called to confirm anything..again having been told my time was going to be 12-4 I figured my call was to let me know a better time they would be there. IN the voicemail there was no mention of time change or Anything, just wanted to confirm date and what burner.So back to my call with them today, I am trying to explain that I made my schedule available for today 12-4 as I was told originally and the woman from MEtro Appl was rudely talking over me, would not allow me a chance to explain, interrupted me. Seriously we have had them to our home so many different times and never had a problem and have recommended them to my friends, but this time was unreal. It seems the attitude was that I need them more than they need the customer...yet with so many repair companies out there, this poor customer service was uncalled for. She then talked loudly over me and asked me if I wanted an appt for tomorrow between 8-12. I will wait and see what happens

We called Metropolitan panicking. Our oven went out and I had 20 people for Thanksgiving! Joe (tech) said he would stop on his way home. He did and had the part to fix it. Thank you so much Metro. This family recommends Metropolitan to anyone.

This is one of the most unprofessional companies in the city considering they are the only vendor for DTE Energy for home repair. Service calls are based on when the company feels like coming out, not based on schedule. Huge communication gaps between company and DTE which is unacceptable for a client paying for service. I would NEVER recommend this company for anything accept unreliability. The receptionist down to the technicians, unprofessional and unreliable.

Tried to make money off me. Didnt want us to see the damage. Didnt have the part to fix it. Said it would be about 300 to fix one wire. Friend fixed it in 10 minutes.

James, from Metropolitan Appliance Service came to my home today to repair my washer. Before he arrived I received a call from the company that he was on his way. He arrived promptly after that call. He fixed the problem! He was efficient, professional and knowledgeable. He cleaned up after himself. I highly recommend that anyone in need of service/repair of a washer, stove or refrigerator hire this company.

Terrible terrible terrible!Lady on the phone RUDE!People come out and say they cant fix things, then why do you work in that profession ?Just awful. I did write a letter to the better business Bureau. Hopefully they get some people in there that knows what they are doing, and who is polite and has good customer service.

If you want a company who doesnt follow through, cant show up in the time frame they promised, and lies then you found the right place! They had a 4 hour time window and couldnt make it during that time. I told them what the problem was and the guy didnt have the equipment to do the job. He turned off my gas and said dont use it until he comes back. I called 3 weeks later and they said theres nothing they can do. So I have been without a stove for a month yet they never called.

Whenever we have a problem, Metropolitan Appliances is always the company we call to service all our appliances. We have never been disappointed and they make sure to fix the problem. If you want a good reputable company that does great work then Metropolitan Appliance is the place to call.

My warranty company scheduled this service to repair my washer. But when they found out it was in a 38 foot 5th wheel, they said they refuse to let their techs work in an RV. When I asked why, they said it was a cramped space. I tried to inform them that all RVs arent created equal. My washer is in a bathroom on its own floor level and is 7 feet by 7 feet. There is plenty of room to pull it out and work on it.Not sure if they have only very large techs or just ignorant humans. I wouldnt recommend this service to anyone!

I had them come out in June to repair my dryer. Here I am two months later and my dryer is now doing exactly what it was before they came out. When I called, they told me they only have a 30 day warranty and that it would be 68 dollars to even come back out and look at it again. If I could rate this place with negative stars, I would.

They seem to hate talking on the phone. Very rude and short. Dropped a standing air conditioner off. After a week called them to see whats going on. They said there still trying to figure out whats wrong with it... Ok but then after two weeks still no phone call.. Im pretty sure all the good reviews are from ppl working there. Dont believe me just call them. My suggestion find someone on Craigslist or Angies list. They will care more about you and your problem, instead of just your money.

I had to contact Frigidaire regarding a problem I was having with my microwave and they had Metropolitan contact me about a service call. I told them and Metropolitan 3 times the time I would be home for them to come out and look at this under warranty. They did not call before they came out and of course, I was not there...they proceeded to look at it while talking to my brother who was here....that knows nothing about the problems we were having....they left a receipt saying could not get it to do what it did for me....when I got home and I called them back they said they would be out...finally after i called then again...they came out and I showed them exactly what it was doing....The tech said he would have to take it to his shop and test it. That was on a Wednesday. I called this morning (Monday) only to get the secretary who was very snotty, as if I were interrupting her breakfast or something because I wanted to know why I havent heard anything and how much longer to test and get it back....she stated a couple more days....I then said nevermind just bring it back...I will return it to the store.....they now just called to make sure I was home to drop it off. It was Jen who called me today and she is very nice....and she is the one I spoke with last week when I was a little upset and she got it all taken care of in a professional manner. My suggestion is...if the owner wants to continue having a business and make money...he needs to read these reviews and do something about the snotty secretary (not Jen) and pay more attention to appointment times, etc....I work at a small business similar to this and also have done the service call and installs for Lowes and Home Depot.....my point in making sure someone did not show up to my appt without me being there was because I know that having to go to a service call at the same place twice in a day is pretty costly....I tried to avoid that for them by telling Frigidaire and them a total of 3 times that i would not be there at certain times....the tech who just dropped my unit off was also very nice and knowledgeable. Good Day.
