I highly recommend Matts Automotive. While I do use my dealership more so than that going elsewhere, whenever I have used Matts, I have never had a bad experience with them at all. As a female, it is assumed that I understand little about maintenence. I have never encountered this at Matts. Yes, they give a lot of details and do want to provide the best service so they are going to suggest what your manufacturer recommends as they work on your issue. It is good customer care, and it is not being pushy. They are happy to know if a recommended service was done elsewhere. They just want to make sure your vehicle is running top notch and bring attention to what you may have overlooked. They also are extremely helpful explain to you when you want more explanation and do not rush through their explanation. Matts is also very community oriented which is a great plus. This was the number one reason why I support their business. Might you find a less expensive option? Maybe...but all things considered, I love their commitment to respect, diligence, thoroughness, and community involvement.

This place is the REAL DEAL. Dashboard light went on, so brought car in. Was super easy -- booked appointment online. I asked for an oil change per the oil light on. They checked and said I didnt need an oil change, the button just hadnt been reset at last change (at another place). They did a check of fluids/engine etc. to see if there was anything that needed attention, even took a picture of a belt I was worried might need changing, they showed me the picture (which is cool you can see inside your car!), reassured me there was nothing needing attention and they said my car was ready - at no charge! So, they are professional, courteous, and honest. Its been a few months and car is running great so they were spot on, was just a reset issue. I so appreciated their taking the time to check if there was anything additional and reassure me, so important to me for driving my kids around. Will definitely be back here for my next service. While a little more expensive, they have a 5 year warranty on any work they do, and 12 month roadside assistance. I love that they have an easy to use website approval system for problems they find during diagnostics. They are never condescending and are great at answering or clarifying any questions. They also have free loaner cars as well. Love Matts!!!

Scheduled to look at car on short notice on a day where all other FM shops were booked. Has options due to having multiple FM shops. Provided loaner car while personal vehicle was in the shop for a few days. Rather expensive prices for parts and labor. Did not seem very competitive in regard to price. Parts cost was excessively high and labor rate was 33% higher than some other places. Picture(s) of diagnosis were provided but initial pictures provided (radiator) were not clear and easy to understand so needed to request better images of issue. Recommended extra services that were overpriced and not completely necessary. Coolant reservoir was low after service was finished (coolant flush) and I needed to request coolant to be topped off before leaving with vehicle. Not very impressed. Seems to have potential for being great but my particular visit was average at best.

Charlie at Matts south Moorhead location was wonderful to work with! He provided me with a loaner vehicle while mine was being worked on so I didnt miss any of my meetings and appointments. His concern for my safety was much appreciated. When I had my car back and had noticed the sensor hadnt been reset after the oil change, he came to where I was at work to set it for me. He checked in with me on Monday after I had my my car back over the weekend to make sure I was able to get arrangements made for repairs I needed that were under warranty elsewhere. Very attentive and a very comfortable waiting area. They discovered an issue from a previous repair at a different shop, and took care of everything for me! Jess called the previous shop, took care of the entire warranty process, and did all of the extra work so I wouldn’t have to worry. She called back less than 24 hours later to let me know the warranty will cover repairs and to schedule service. I’ve never had a shop go this far above and beyond to make it easy on me, and I absolutely recommend them!

We were traveling through Moorhead on our way back to Utah and an oxygen sensor went out. They were able to get us in right away in the morning analyze the problem and get it repaired within an hour and a half. We were on our way very quickly. Excellent prices. They have a great waiting area with plenty of drinks and Netflix while we were waiting. Very friendly staff also!

Ive been taking my vehicles to Matts Automotive for several years and have been to 3 of their locations. I own two vehicles that are 15+ years old. I stay up to date on regular service through Matts and they are both still running great. The staff is always honest about what service is important right away and what can wait. I dont feel like they are upselling for a bigger ticket. The staff is very responsive to providing details with pricing, prior to any work done. Matts is my go-to for service on my vehicles.

I have had such great experiences working with Matts Auto. Jessica and Vern have been so accommodating and helpful with answering questions and easing any concerns. They offer rides if detailed service is needed as well as have rental vehicles which really saved the day for me. They do a great job

This was the first time I have brought a vehicle into an auto repair shop by myself. I went in for a break inspection and an oil change and they were very detailed and informative with what they found and even found another issue with my car that I didnt even know about. They showed me pictures of everything so I could see what repairs needed to be made and talked with me so I understood what needed to be done and they gave me fair price estimates. I came back a week later to make the repairs that we agreed upon and they kept me informed while the repairs were being made. I am very happy with the work that they did, the staff is friendly and patient and I will be coming back to them when I need something done on my vehicle.

If you are a woman or new to town and dont want to be that person that an auto shop sees coming from a mile away...go here. I am so sick of places trying to rip you off if they THINK you know nothing about cars. Not here. You get a females voice first thing when you call! AMAZING customer service!! And they are honest about the work needed, not gonna tell you things need fixing if it doesnt. I would for sure recommend Matts to anyone in the FM area. I come from a small town so I feel the prices are kind of high. But I imagine theres nowhere cheaper in town either.

Mattand the gang are top notch. They were able to squeeze me in before a last minute trip to get an oil change, tire rotation and give my vehicle a once over. Will was great explaining what items should be taken care of ASAP and what to keep an eye on. I’ve trusted them with all my vehicles for many years and will for many more to come.

Offered an optional contactless experience along with amazing customer and mechanical service. The online inspection evaluation explains very clearly the problems areas that they found. I would reccomend Matts to anyone.

Paid 150 dollars for them to LOOK at 1 dash light. (Hit a Deer) They failed to see my shocks and struts broken, (normal wear and tear) my cracked radiator, my control arm bushing broken, and a bent rim. (Deer) 70 point health inspection said all of these were good! A 40 dollar inspection at Tuffys revealed ALL of the real problems. Plus, they didnt put the trim on after inspecting my seat belts! (One locked up from hitting the deer) I had to go back in there and argue with the receptionist that this was unacceptable. She said her mechanics were off the clock. Supposedly, they left the trim off because they didnt know if I wanted them to start the work on it. They assumed I would agree to pay $800 for new seat belt pretensions! You better be a millionaire If you want work done here. If you want to pay incredibly high prices, have to remind and argue with them to put your car back together, and get shoddy work done, come here.

Matt’s Auto is amazing! My car broke down last week, they towed it to the shop, did a full inspection for any possible additional problems, sent me an easy to approve email, and then fix the issues I approved ASAP. On top of it all they loaned a brand new car to me for FREE for the week so I didn’t have to rent or Uber! Blessed for the Matt’s team! Thanks Guys

Brought my truck in for a brake job. Was charged for a brake inspection when that’s exactly what I brought it in for. A needless fee is annoying but the work was done well and in a timely fashion. Beginning to consider looking elsewhere for repair needs.

Extremely over priced compared to other places Ive compared to. I bought my tires through them and am supposed to get free rotations because of this, however, I have to remind them if this every time I go in, else they charge me. Yes I go to the same location each time. Also - I have a discount through work that I have to remind them of each time as well. This should all be in my profile to view when I come in. I also have a Goodyear card I want to use to pay, but everytime Im in there they never have the program set up to process my card so its not an option.

Did not do what I asked but did manage to come up with $2,000 worth of suggested repairs that 2 other shops don’t think I need done. Went to another shop and got my alignment done as I asked for less money and they did not have any recommend repairs.

I went in for four tires and alignment. After sitting and waiting for TWO AND A HALF HOURS, I was told that they had only aligned the front wheels because they did not have what they needed to align the rear wheels. They still charged me 72% of the cost of alignment for 50% of the job.
