After waiting several minutes to be greeted by the man at the counter I was able to explain that I had a tire going flat. He told me he couldn’t fix it tonight as they were 10 minutes from closing. I asked if he could put air in it to get me home since tire stores were all closing around town. He told me to pull up to a particular garage door where I waited for about 20 more minutes with a couple men working right beside me in the garage, none of which who greeted me nor helped. I had to drive off. I’ve been in a similar situation before and there are other stores in Montgomery that will bend over backyards to help. I only stopped by this particular store bc it is where I was when my tire started going flat. I recommend avoiding this store if at all possible as their work ethic appears to be minimal.

Rated 1 star because I couldn’t rate them a 0. Paid over 1000 dollars and my car is still not cranking. Turns out, it was my battery the entire time. I was told that my battery was good. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM!

RIP off. Always tell me my tires need.replacing for a leak. Tried to charge me 1200 for a striped oil drain plug. They tried to replace the entire oil pan. American lube fast fixed it for free with an oil change. Saved me 1140. Dont go to pep boys. There are as shady as firestone.

The manager Jay was great. I was in and out I’m about 30 minutes with no appointment.

I arrived at 8am for an 8am appointment. The main door was locked so I waited. A couple minutes later I saw an employee walk through the side door, so I entered there. He held up a finger and said, Hold on, wait a minute. I thought that was rude, but waited anyway. A couple minutes later he unlocked the main door then walked away, even though I was standing right there. Customer service is important. If you cant be ready for someone who shows up on time for an 8am appointment, you shouldnt make 8am appointments. I left and went to another establishment down the street for an oil change.

I was passing by Montgomery, Alabama on my way to San Antonio, Texas. I got my tire blown up and then I requested a tow to take me to the closest Pep boys. Thank God for the guys who work here. Jay customer service was exceptional he was very kind, honest and professional. I thought I was going to leave with this hard situation unresolved since no one could exchange this tire due to having key locks on each of the tires (something the previous owner didnt warned us about, what a headache has been). So imagine my frustration when my tire couldnt be replaced with the spare. But Jay found a way which Im really thankful for. I had to leave my truck there for several days and they take well care of it and fix in less than an hour. Thanks for it giving up Jay!We need more trustworthy people like him. Please someone give him a raise!

I can’t believe how much my rims were damaged after tire installation. Is this common?

At the prior appointment Pep Boys was to do a free tire rotation as part of the oil change. I looked things over when I got home and called and that manager admitted they had not. I made an appointment to get it done, but upon arrival that manager insisted that the tech said he had rotated those tires the week before. But after I told that manager how I knew that was false, they did rotate them. Take a wet rag and make a clean spot on the white wall of both front tires. Then if they actually do rotate them the ones with the clean spot will be on the rear.

They are a joke. They act like they don’t see you. They don’t even greet you. Just a scam. Don’t recommend for anyone to go here. Go to a better place somewhere where it’s 5 stars.

DO NOT GO HERE! BIG SCAMCame by just to get my wheels aligned. They came back and told me there is thousands and thousands in repairs. Went to my trustworthy mechanic and they found nothing. This is a BIG scam I repeat DO NOT GO HERE.

My wife just went to get an oil change and ended up getting more than an oil change for a total of $121.69. My prior experience with them has been the same each time I visit them for an oil change. It makes me wonder if unnecessary repairs and upgrades are being made so as to meet a profit quota.

I would like to acknowledge the professionalism and great customer service exhibited by Jay and Steven at the Taylor Road location (store #1577). It was an emergency situation and these gentlemen went above and beyond to make sure my sons vehicle was safe to travel back to his destination. They even stayed after closing time to get the job done!! I will definitely visit this store for any future needs. Thanks so much for the wonderful experience....truly a blessing!!

Thes people where so nice and helpful. I was on my way to Florida and I had a trouble with my motorcycle. I couldnt even get help from the Harley Davidson in Montgomery. These people fixed my bike for me while they were working on a bunch of cars. I want to thank them very much. And if you need service that is were to go. They are there n Taylor Rd.

They always come through when I need them. Ive been quite a few times without making an appointment, and they still managed to fit me in when others could not. The crew is always friendly and professional. I just got my car serviced this past Saturday....I actually made an appt this time. Lol. My guys got me together per usual. The wait is a little long bc its a smaller shop and crew, but I still cant complain.

Great service and honest work! My truck started driving strange right in front of their store so I pulled in. I was met with a smile and a How can I help? I told Jay, the store manager, that my truck was driving weird and I wasnt sure why. I left it with them and the next day Jay called me and told me all it was was a bolt had come loose and he had a new bolt on and it was ready to go. I told him to check the rest of the truck out and make sure everything looked good and he did. The next day I picked it up and Jay handed me the keys and didnt even charge me for the work! He said it was no big deal and to come and see him the next time I need work done. And I definitely will! Outstanding manager at this location! I highly recommend them!

Jay was the best!! Driving through Alabama to a big car show in Kentucky, front tire lost the tread on it. Jay was able to get the tires that we needed to continue our trip with minimum down time. the entire staff was very friendly and quick to respond to our tire needs and get us back on the road.They all deserve GOLD STARS!! Pep boys on Malcolm Drive is the place you want to go if you want your car fully inspected. They explain and show everything to you as they find issues and give you very reasonable pricing! Ask for Robert! He’s super knowledgeable and passionate about his work! I am very pleased!

I highly recommend you stay away from this place. I went to get my tires check and found out I need two new ones. After I got my tires changed one of my tires shake if I go over the speed 60. I did not have this problem before I got the tires and the car is new. Went back to let them check and they say my rim was bent. Before I got my tires changed I did not have this problem at all. To avoid troubles in the future I recommend you choose a different tire place.

I have always come to this location to service my current vehicle. I came in for an oil change and I knew I needed tires. My tires were under the mileage warranty and Jay was able to help me. I purchased 4 new Michelin tires at this location for my Suburban on Monday, May 18th. Jay, the manager, was very professional. Unfortunately, the following Saturday, May 23rd, my wife had a blowout while 100 miles from Montgomery. The tire was completely destroyed. We placed the spare on the car and returned to Montgomery. I called Jay. He could not have been more helpful. A sharp piece of metal had caused the blowout. PepBoys replaced the tire and ensured everything was ok. Their customer service is great.

First time visiting this store #1577. I pulled up and they got right to work. Jay, was absolutely courteous & professional. I shopped around various repair shops and was amazed by the great attitude and attentiveness displayed at this location. This is my location for life hands down.

I love this place! I have consistently received good service at fair & reasonable prices. They fixed my a/c several months ago, very pleased. Everyone is polite and helpful. If they are super busy they suggest a time to return which has always worked out fine.

He took me out in the shop to show me how badly I was in need of theses services. I’m so very happy that he was honest with me & recommended these services. Back on the road again👍🏼

I had a car battery go bad after 41 months. Right after the 100 percent free replacement had expired. Robert was great at greeting me fairly quickly even with calls and people at the counter. Robert was great at using my receipt to look up the prorated warranty from another store and getting my battery changed out in time to make my daughters practice gymnastics meet.

My visit to PEP BOYS on Sturbridge Montgomery Alabama was the best experience of my life. I’ve never met a group of guys who were so hands on in my lifetime.I had major issues with my vehicle and those guys figured it out and I was able to return home for the holidays thanks a lot PEP BOYS.

I have NEVER received service like this before!! Every member of the staff at store #1577 was extremely courteous, knowledgeable and helpful. They made sure to explain until I understood exactly what was wrong with my car, without trying to upsale me to death. Jay took great care of me and I will be going out of my way to utilize this location again.

Had a blow out due to god knows what, took it to Pepboys off Malcom Drive in Montgomery and it is by far the best experience I have had especially since I thought I may had been rude because of all the stress... anyway I actually needed 4 tires and Ryan and Jay hooked me up with a buy 3 get 1 free deal on some Cooper Adventure tires and it is the best ride by far.... Store 1577 : Very helpful and satisfied with the tires I purchased. Their prices are competitive. Jay was on the spot and kept me updated on the progress of my service.

We went to several other stores including other pep boys locations and this was the only one with our size tire in stock and that could get us in and out in a reasonable amount of time. The staff and service were great and helpful also! This is my new go to location!

I was desperate to find a tire for my little bitty car but no one in town had one in stock. Jay was a miracle worker and got me a tire the next day! All the guys up there were super nice and now my car is good to go!

I was offered to leave my car and they could work it in but unfortunately I had no where else to go considering I live in another city. So, the guy did schedule me to come in the next day at 5:30pm and it was understood that it was no problem on both parties to get my oil change. My husband took my car back the next day as planned and the guy tells him they could not change my oil due to it was after 4pm. Still would not budge after showing him the appointment card. This is a nightmare every time I visit this location and for some reason it’s always the same excuse. Why set up an appointment for a oil change if you guys don’t do oil change after 4pm. Last time I brought a vehicle here for an oil change I set an appointment for 1pm. Around 3 I got a call asking what kind of oil to use. Then I had to call back at nearly 5 to find out if it was ready for pick up. It was, but no one bothered to call. 4 hours for an oil change is unacceptable when you set an appointment in advance. The staff is friendly, but their appointments are meaningless.

Went in on a Friday and they told me they would have my tires there on Saturday. They called me Saturday and said it would be Monday or Tuesday. I called Tuesday and they said probably Wednesday. Its Wednesday and still not here. Im going out of town and had to scramble and find a place with tires in stock. Paid a little more but better service.

If I could give more stars I would. The manager and employees went above and beyond to help us get my vehicle fixed as we were on our way to panama city beach for vacation when my drive shaft fell apart. They knew immediately what was wrong and fixed fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes. The nice man didnt even charge us which was a huge blessing since we were on such a tight budget for vacation anyways that this small vehicle problem could have easily depleted our vacation funds and in the end, ruined our whole vacation. I would recommend this place to anyone.

Came in for one service; got another taken care of for free. The problem had been bugging me for about a year, and other places hadnt been able to fix it. I asked more than once about a charge for the service or even a tip, but the gentleman refused, insisting he would take care of it for no extra charge. In asking them to diagnose you car is like asking him to cut off his right hand. Base on what you tell him he just assume what the problem is without giving you the diagnostic test you request and then comes the big fat bill. REALLY!!! I could have assumed for myself. Twice I have been there and greet by this person and the same response. I know the service here want change so you best bet is to use another location...

I was visiting family for the weekend, when I walked out and started loading my car to return home I noticed one of my tires was completely flat. My brother-in-law used his air compressor to inflate my tire and recommended Pepboys. I was able to make it there, which was about two and a half miles away from my familys home. The manager had someone start on the job immediately. The service was done in no time. The manager was on the phone and extended his hand for me to shake and said have a good day, there was no charge! I live out of town and heard personal stories of stores in my area also from Google reviews. This store by far shattered the stereotype I had of this franchise.

Bad customer service. I got there like 2 hours before close and told me that I cant get and oil change. Bad business. Big Ten was better. This company is not going to last long.

Made an appointment to change engine oil, went there counter said engine oil ran out. Okay the following week made a second appointment she says mine not in the system. They dont check inventory and ran out they need to make a call to customers... Why they ask phone numbers then if they are going to make customers come all the way in the morning for nothing. Very bad experience. I went there for a problem with my A/C and the guy just handed me a diagnostic price without even going out to look at the car first. I understand that you have to run a diagnostic and all before telling me whats wrong, but atleast look at what I am talking about. He was very rude, unprofessional and didnt seem to care much about what the customer is concerned about. I will never go back to this place. Absolutely hated it.

I made an appointment for an oil change on Saturday April 1 at 1000 am. I guess I forgot it was April fools day because the joke was on me. I arrhived at 9:45. When I went to check-In I was greeted by a woman that looked at me like I was the devil incarnate. When I told her of my appt she said I got 4 in front of you. When I asked about my appointment she said that internet dont know nuthin [sic]. Then she said it will be a while before we can get to it. When I asked her - actually politely - if she could give me some idea as to what a while would consist of, she said you just need to leave it. When I informed her I was alone, she says...12:00 0clock. So I asked, If I come back at 12 will I have to wait behind others or is that a time I can come back and get it done. So I am sure - you not being the April Fools joke - you know the end of the story. When I went back at 12 there were only 2-people ahead of me; not counting the one in the bay. So what do I rate this store. Minus 10. Good luck if you choose to go here. For sure, dont make it on April Fools Day.

My fiancé went there to get a new tire, instead of getting her what she needed they decided to push 3 new tires on her for 10 minutes and ask her to get the pep boys store card to pay for it.

THE WORST PEP BOYS EVER. I would give them 0 star if i could. They always try to make you fix stuff that you dont even need to fix, and always try to hustle you. The managers there are VERY rude and dont know ANYTHING about cars. Please avoid going to this Pep Boys.

Took my vehicle to Pep Boys for the first time ever I had a great experience

I took my f_450 to get brakes repaired and got great service.there was a rush going on at the time.and alot going on and they handled it very professional.I would deffintly go back

I just had a really creepy experience at Pep Boys on Malcolm Drive in Montgomery Al. We went there to have our brakes looked at and there were workers milling around, totally making a show of ignoring us. Not a single hello. So we went into the store and waited for a few minutes for a costumer service rep, who finally walked in and did not even acknowledge us (my husband loudly said hello). He finally finished what he was doing rudely asked what we wanted....the whole time refusing to make eye contact. Creeeeepy! Yes, we left!! And I will probably avoid Pep Boys forever more. We went to Express Lube instead and they sure know how to treat costumers!

Big mistake! Day one i arrived around 3.40p they claimed they had one person in the back so i waited patiently & i asked guy at counter could i come back tomorrow & set an appt he told me the following day @4p day, Day two i came a little early about 15 mins early i went inside to let the guy know i have 4p appt & im a little early i can wait he goes to tell me the same thing from previous day they told me i have one guy working idc i have other things to do if i set an appointment & u tell me i might have to wait till after 5 when im the only one thats left that needs service besides drop offs, im there physically & u got one customer leaving...he goes to look in the computer to say some other name at 4p & says idk what the guy did the previous day, he asked to see my confirmation i showed him...thats not my fault i set an appt & showed u proof now i have to wait till after 5 or another 45 mins or so your not sure...really dude on top he was nasty & rude about it, after i went back/forth 5 mins i went outside & left i went to express oil change up the street they werent rude, more organzied, faster & went above & beyond & gave me a discount i needed something extra done to my car express didnt do but they gave me tips it worked i didnt have to spend it with yall clowns plus discount & i get synthetic oil & i get my fluids filled & then some....it was worth it!!! Never go to this place not all but this one!!!

I made an appointment online, but the employee lectured me that I should have called the store instead. Didnt give details on tire options. And the tires they sold were not eligible for the rebate as advertised.

Dropped my car off to have it looked at and they had it all day and didnt even look at it. Not even a call to let me know they couldnt get to it.

Took my car in the store to get my oil changed and tires rotated.They were courteous and prompt.When I was leaving,I started my car and the change engine oil light came on.Went back inside,Spoke to the associate who did my oil change.He stated he tried 3 times to reset it.But couldnt get it to reset.Told me not to worry about it,yo just go by the mileage.Took my car to the dealership.Told them my problem.It was reset in less than 2 minutes.Light has not come on since.No more Pep Boys for me !
