Great experience. Very helpful staff. Booked online via different website but the checkin was smooth. Rules were explained clearly. This was the first time we were renting car for over a week. One thing I found strange was third party site and hertz gave me different second driver cost. So always better to double check. Car ran good with no problems.

Had a great experience with minivan rental. Note: because the trip was important, I booked 4 months in advance, added 2 days to rental, on front and back to avoid pick up and return issues, and called to confirm rental a month in advance. I notice after booking that my 5 pm pick up was impossible since the location closes at 5 pm. However when I arrived at 345 pm, vehicle was ready. Also note: No Sunday returns.

Montclair Motorwerks assisted me with my rental and made the whole moment effortless and informative. FRANKIE IS THE BEST. She explained everything in detail, answered all my questions, and assisted me with my rental extension and return expeditiously. Will definitely return and absolutely recommend to anyone is the area to rent at Motorwerks. The service and experience is more than worth it.

Frankie is the absolute BEST! She went above and beyond to help me through a stressful situation at drop-off. Her kindness really brightened my day, and Ill be recommending this Hertz to anyone renting a car in the area!

Place is very small. Attached to a gas station but Frankie, the rental car agent is an absolute genuine and all out accommodating person. Greets everyone no matter how busy she is and goes above and beyond to do her best to satisfy all customers no matter how difficult the circumstances maybe. Cars were overbooked on line and there were a few disgruntled customers when they found out there were no more cars available. She could have gotten as testy as some of the customers because she was not the one at fault however she kept her cool and showed kindness patience and empathy for everyone she had to turn away. A testament to people who enjoy helping others.

I haven’t rented from them since I bought my car last fall but my wife and I rented from here quite a few times. This place is very professional, Frankie is THEE BEST and runs a tight ship. She is very flexible with changed dates/cancellations/extensions, etc. We even had an unfortunate incident with one of the cars and she completely understood and was accommodating.

I have found my new rental location. Miss Frankie is an absolute delight. She was very friendly and super helpful. My car was ready and was labeled with the Clean Standard sticker!!

I booked a minivan two weeks ago and paid in advance. When I arrived to pick up the vehicle at the scheduled time, the location was closed. No one contacted me about changing timing of the reservation, etc. I contacted customer service and there was nothing they could do. I’m now scrambling to find a car to seat 7 with my family arriving from out of town in two hours.

My boyfriend and I rented an car here before in the past, and we had nothing but great service from the lady who works there. This weekend we had an horrible experience with another Hertz place who was unable to fulfill an booking we booked weeks in advance for, and we were in an Jam as we need the car for our vacation coming up tomorrow. Switching the rental to here last minute; this location had no cars available but the lady called us right away. She told us they had 0 cars available, were all sold out and was very sorry about it. We explained our terrible nightmare situation to her, and she did everything she can to try to help us. She gave us other places to reach, and who to call. If we couldn’t get an car by the end of the day and any type of vehicle came in or someone was an no show, she would let us know. We ended up getting an car from Avis; but later were received an call from her following up if we got one and if not to come in as there was an no show. They had one available. This was after business hours and she still was going to accommodate us if we had no luck finding an car. Seriously absolutely one of the most caring, knowledgeable person we have ever deal with for hertz. Next trip, this location will deft be one out of the two places we will ever rent from only. Really amazing service and I highly recommend Hertz in Montclair!

Efficient car hire experience with gas station attached to the location. The lady who manages, Frankie, was pleasant and thorough. Rented a newish clean car for a week and had no issues with pick up or return. Would definitely use these folks again.

Overall smooth pleasant experience, though facility and even the car seemed a bit old and dirty and the guy who was helping us refused to honor a discount i booked with ( the guy at the counter was wrong as i called hertz after that and they immediately refunded what the discount was supposed to be) hence the 3 stars.

We fulfilled an insurance claim rental at this location. Chevy Sonic was clean and drove great. It even had some features Ill be looking at in getting our next car. Check in/out was fast. Frankie was awesome. Will return if I ever need rental services. Thanks!

This place is terrible! I had reserved a car rental approximately two weeks prior to my actual pick up date. I booked with someone on the phone and I was never told that I needed a credit card. I walked in 20 minutes before my reservation, with my debit card and confirmation number. The lady behind the desk then tells me that I cannot rent the vehicle because I do not have a credit card! First of all, since when do you NEED a credit card? And second, Hertz needs to get it together and address this requirement prior to making reservations with clients. My whole move-in day was ruined. People usually rent cars for important matters and this last minute cancellation was beyond unprofessional. Hertz needs to be better equipped with people that CAN do their jobs efficiently. Save your time and money... go to Alamo!

I would 100% NOT recommend renting a car from this place. First of all, it’s not even a Hertz, just a dirty and grimy gas station/repair shop that has 1-2 Hertz rental cars at it. Had booked a car for 8am pick up, arrive at 8, no one is at the desk. Ask the guys in the shop where is everyone and how do I get my rental car? They call the person who does the Hertz and they say she’ll be here in 20 minutes (8:20). I needed this rental car at 8am.... which is why booked it for 8am! So unprofessional. What if I had something extremely important to get to? Unacceptable.

I did everything online so when I got there I just had to get the car. Have to hand it to the woman who runs this place--the phone was ringing off the hook when I got there, end of the day. She remained calm, even as 4 other customers walked in behind me, and very efficient. When I dropped the car off, I left me ezpass on the dash. She called me AND texted me, and held on to it until I could return the next day to pick it up. I love that she cares about her customers and goes above and beyond. If I ever need a rental again, Im going here for sure.

Frankie was really nice. The full-size car I reserved was gone and I ended up with a mid-size but she let me come back when a full-size was returned a few hours later. Because of the inconvenience I received the full for the mid rate without asking our having to fuss. I would come here over the airport location any day.

The entire experience with this location was unprofessional. When I went for the vehicle I was not informed of my gold amount for my credit card, I was not given an inspection, the car had filthy seats and was not cleaned. I called to inform them on my confusion on the compact vehicle being considered a midsize and to tell her about the cleaning. She was rude and interrupting me as I was explain the situation. She even suggested I come to get it cleaned when it should have been cleaned before renting it to me. I will never go here again.
