I reserved a vehicle through Hertz at Mobile,Alabama Airport 3 months ago for an economy car type. I arrived on time and was given a large pickup truck without being asked. I refused to take it and explained to the clerk that I signed up for a small car. Then he proceed to tell me that was a manager pick car. The lot was full of cars. He told me that I could only changed my vehicle if I paid an extra 45 dollars. Do not rent from Hertz.

Hertz has lost their mind charging a 5% fee to book with an agent on the phone. I instead booked online as they prefer. Everything was great and I got a confirmation number. Then as I was pulling into the parking lot I got a voicemail saying they didn’t have any cars to rent. Good luck trying to call the physical location - they don’t even bother answering the phone. Could have saved a lot of time if they just told me up front that they didn’t have cars. If you want good service, definitely avoid this company.

I chose Hertz because of their enhanced cleaning process. Yet I received not 1.. but 2 dirty smelly vehicles!!! During Covid, I would have expected extra cleaning to be taking place, not less. Called this location over and over.. no one ever answers. If I had it to do all over again, I would definitely choose a different company or location. I wont be back.

Horrible experience. Daughter had a claim with State Farm and they booked a vehicle. Only for her to leave work 2 hrs early (cause ya know ya only need a car rental up till 5pm NOT) get there and they don’t have any cars. No explanation of why they told her they had a car when they knew good and well they had NOTHING! And very rude on top of that. Stay away. They are expensive and rude and don’t care. Actually said not our problem. What do you want us to do about it!

5 stars that I was able to get a car. Unfortunately picking a car up at the airport means you will be charged an extra 10% CONSESSION FEE RECOVERY and CUST FAC CHARGE. I could have saved over 100$ by picking Is up at a non airport place. Shame on me. But I wanna let everyone know hes reading this! Hope it helps!

I Prepayed when I made the reservation a month prior to picking up the car. They added another 350 when I arrived and told me I would forfeit the money if I canceled. The customer service was horrible! The two people at the desk were rude and extremely hateful. I will never ever use Hertz again. And thanks to social media I only had to tell of my experience one time to have all my friends be aware of how Hertz does business!

Nice staff, Tristen was awesome & tried her best to expedite things & make it right, but just dont expect this location to actually have a vehicle when you arrive, even though you have a reservation. Waited for 1.5 hours PAST my reservation for someone to bring one in so they could have ANY.

You know I came here and the customer service was phenomenal they were super nice up until I was supposed to get my money back they had told me that the deposit I will get back after i return the car and it has been over a month now I’ve waited past 5 to 7 business days this branch will not contact me I have called multiple times throughout this time period. I would’ve been totally OK if I wasn’t getting a deposit and they would’ve just not said anything but apparently I’m not getting a deposit back and they lied to me. Saying I will get it back. I have never had a problem with Herz before but how they handled this was very unprofessional and I honestly don’t think I will ever rent from Herz again. I even called customer service and spoke with them the ladies here truly did lie to me saying that I would get over $300 back because of my deposit. But instead they have taken out over $300 in my account after I have already paid for the car

Horrible experience, they rented me a car with broken windshield wipers in the rain! The car also made a lot of weird noises when driving over 35 mph and when I returned it they weren’t sorry at all. I rent roughly 30 times a year and this was by far my worst experience!

I would recommend against renting a Hertz vehicle at the Mobile Airport. I booked my reservation pick up for noon, and I tried to pick up my vehicle around approximately 7:00 PM. I was told the vehicle was not ready, and that at least five more customers were in line ahead of me before my vehicle would be ready. At this location, the service desks for Hertz, Thrifty, and Dollar are combined - I had a very similar experience three months ago at Thrifty at the Mobile Airport. During this occasion, I set my rental car pick up for 6:00 PM and did not have a vehicle until 11:12 PM. This experience influenced me to set my pick up time for noon today and not pick it up until later, just in the chance that this happened again. It unfortunately did not help. The desk representative was pleasant to speak with, but I will no longer rent from this location.

I had an unexpected emergency and needed a car. After being left in total confusion by the call center agent, I arrived in Mobile at the airport to a counter agent/angel who got me on track. She was phenomenal. She took the time, asked the right questions to understand my situation and put me in the right vehicle at the right price. I’m embarrassed that I don’t remember her name (a black woman) but she was amazing. Thank you Hertz.

My vehicle was ready and waiting when I arrived. I was able to grab my keys in less than 5 minutes...I also received a free, unexpected upgrade. The vehicle was bigger and newer than what I expected. The staff was great and greeted me warmly. Returning the vehicle was hassle-free, I turned in the keys and was out the door.

I’ve been renting with Hertz for years but for some reason this location doesn’t receive a lot of vehicles. Mobile has a lot of events and this location is constantly out of vehicles until your left with a vehicle with high mileage or no one wanted. With the increase in passengers in Mobile this rental location needs to communicate that to their larger locations in order to always have a good selection of vehicles instead of being left with a poor experience.

Well, they got it wrong at first, but they bent over backwards to make it right. You probably need to call and check and double-check and allow extra time oh, and dont hesitate to ask for the manager, who was super professional and accommodating and gave us a break for the extreme inconvenience, and it all worked out in the end. We missed a meeting on the first night of the trip, but I guess it was okay because of the price break?

Normally service at MOB has been friendly and dependable. This time, however, on Wed 24 Oct, I was given a car smaller than I reserved, which was not acceptable for this trip (carrying passengers). When I asked for a replacement, I was given a vehicle with 47,000 miles on it that apparently had not been thoroughly checked. By that evening, the key fob was acting up. By the next morning, the battery was dead. After reporting to Hertz, I had to unload the car in the rain, catch a ride with a friend, and continue my meetings, then catch a Lyft to the airport. Hertz sent for a tow truck to get the car, which was picked up at 9:48 on Thu 25 Oct. Yet Hertz charged me for two extra days that I did not use, and then to add insult to injury, also added a late fee. All this after having been on the phone with Hertz 5 times that morning to get their car taken care of. I explained all this to the agents at MOB; they gave me the number of their manager, whom I called and left a voicemail for. I received no call back. When I called the corporate office about the bill, I was told I would get a $20 discount on the bill--even though they charged me for two extra days that I didnt even have the car.After 22 years of being a customer, I mistakenly thought I would be treated better than this.

The worst! I have literally been calling Hertz since for the past hour to speak to one of the two females at the desk. I’ve made 15+ calls. A few of them were picked up and hung up. I also reached out to the 1-800 line, the nice representative attempted to call the Airport location 3 times as well. Not to mention, I had to wait an hour and half after my scheduled reservation just to get a vehicle for them to give my vehicle away. This is awful customer service. You all should think about hiring more associates if you are short staffed or hiring people who actually want to make your reputable business remain at the top of quality service.

One of the best experience picking up a car rental. Kim had the paper work already printed out. Their was no line. Kim ask for my drivers license and credit card just to verify and gave me paper work to sign. Kim also told me were to get the car and out I went. It took may be five min. Returning the car may have be let then that. Chris ask me how was the car, if I filled it with gas and thanked me. By for the best. Thanks guys when I return I pray its the same.

Poor car management, poor service, uncaring. 73 yr old mother had to wait over 4hrs to get her car she reserved. this forced her to get a hotel and pick the car up on the morning. no restitution or apology. only after complaining to corporate, online and to Expedia(booked with them) did they offer no charge for the gas. They should have offered a reasonable amount for a hotel and have the car in the morning. this would have helped her specific reservation about not driving at night and alleviated their car shortage problem.

Needed a large car for six plus luggage....Hertz supplied a Sienna. Wow, most leg room for all I have ever enjoyed. Car was ready when we arrived in Mobile and drop off took about two minutes...great, friendly service. Thank you!

After another rental car company at Mobile Airport failed me with their attitude and service I turned to Hertz!It was my vacation and also my birthday week! I was looking forward to this vacation and it was almost runined. The nicest people at the Hertz counter on 3 different encounters, same trip, and different people all spot on! Outstanding service. The moved the obstacle from blocking my vacation!!!Excited!!

I will never use Hertz at this airport again. I got off my flight early and went to get my rental car. I was notified they didnthave one ready that I had to wait for my pickup time. Not a big deal, waited the twenty minutes. Then I asked again and they told me they still didnt have a car for me. That I should again have a seat and wait. They wouldnt let me know how long a car would take or the status of a car. All they would say is they have luxury cars avaliable if I wanted to upgrade. It took them a half an hour past my pick up time. I called hertz customer service durring this time and they basically said this is a small shop and they overbook the cars and sometimes you have to wait until another person returns a car before one is ready even if you have a reservation. Once I finally got a car it was filthy inside and windshield was gross. It was wet on the outside like they sprayed it with a hose but they didnt clean it. I rent from hertz all over the country and will say this was my worst experience. There customer service was atrocious.

I arrived into Mobile Regional Airport quite late due to a missed connection in Charlotte, NC. (Flight leaving CVG was 1 hour late departing.)Hertz had eliminated my reservation for a rental car and only had a small Hyundi and a mini-van left. I elected the Hyundi. Its brakes were a bit grabby and the drivers side carpet behind the gas pedal was worn and torn. Otherwise . . . it was okay.The rental agent told me that my credit card on file had been declined. So I used a debit card for the rental. Later I discovered that Hertz had tried to hold $350+ on my credit card twice . . . thus maxing it out. (I am between jobs and was in Alabama for an interview.)Other than that, the rental car and process was fine. When I got to my hotel in Jackson, AL, I discovered that the travel agency had reserved a room for me in Jackson, MS. So, I slept in the rental car at the parking lot of the McDonalds in Jackson, AL. The rental was okay for sleeping with a drivers seat that reclined nicely. But, at that point, Id wished Id rented the mini-van.Great trip!Oh, and the interview went well as did the trip home to Cincinnati.- Mark

I am a corporate pilot and I needed 2 cars delivered over to the General Aviation FBO. I have tried dozens of times to call the rental counter but no one answers the phone.....I have been a Presidents Circle Member for over 15 years and this is the worst service I have ever seen by a Hertz office.
