Really, really enjoyed my two years here - if I didnt have to move out of state, I wouldve stayed longer. I found HW on a whim back in 2019 and it ended up being the best rental/apartment experience of my college years. While its not the newest or fanciest-looking complex on the block, they make up for it with outstanding management, laid-back neighbors, and plenty of amenities. I was never nervous about walking into the office if I needed something as I felt treated like an actual human being rather than a number or a bunch of dollar signs. Maintenance always took care of things quickly, and the community was the perfect mix of students, non-students and families. The location was a great combination of a quieter, suburban area while being close to campus, and I always felt safe no matter what time of day/night I had to leave my apartment. An added bonus was the freedom of choice for internet/cable when most complexes typically require you to sign with one provider.Overall, I was able to focus my time there on school/work and didnt have to worry about my home, which was awesome and a huge difference from past renting experiences - living there is like driving a Toyota, you just put the keys in the ignition and dont have to worry about much else!

Absolutely loved every minute of living here! Colin and Macy were awesome, neighbors were lovely, and we felt right at home from day 1. Maintenance came as soon as we had a problem (never anything major and only once or twice). We will miss this community.

I wish I could pack this complex up and take it with me when I move out of state. Love this complex and especially the staff! The manager and assistant manager are quick to get anything you need resolved! After moving to mobile and getting into a horrible apartment situation (Knollwood apts) and needing to move within the week I found this apartment by chance through a friend that lived here! Thankfully they had an open apartment in the BEST part of the complex (the back, shaded by trees and quiet) and I was moved in within 12 hours of signing the lease! These are older apartments but the floor plan is the best and the area is unlike any Ive ever been in. It is so quiet and I feel completely safe when walking to take the trash out every night. The grounds are fairly clean and the pool is a great place to just hang out during all seasons. Love this little apartment of mine and love all the decorating and lights the neighbors hang up during the holidays! Makes it feel like home!Here is a few of mine this year!

We lived in Huntleigh Woods for 4 years and could not have been more sad to leave (due to a job change). The people-Macy and Colin in the front office, the maintenance staff, and other residents-are AMAZING! Always around to say hi, give my dog some love and treats, or quickly take care of any little thing that we may have needed. The dog park, dog wash station, pool, gym, and updated apartments were everything we could want and more. 100% recommend!

Easily the best apartment I have lived in so far. Prime location, walking distance to university campus, clean and secure. Great facilities, and above all the best management crew. Colin, Macy and Jude are very friendly and professional. Liked the crew and apartment so much that I renewed my lease. Extremely happy to stay here.

Colin and Macy in the office are total sweethearts. The complex is very quiet and I’m very satisfied with the condition of my apartment and the grounds. There are at least 4 police officers who live here as well and park their cars outside. No roaches either. The construction is older thus it’s very solid, well built and the walls are not thin.

I lived at this Colonial Village for 3 years and was very happy with my experience. The office staff is unbeatable. They helped me with anything and everything. The maintenance was almost instant when I made requests. No bug problems and fair/low prices. So close to South Alabamas campus I rode my bike to class most days. I would recommend this complex to anyone!

Very friendly and helpful office staff. Close to the University of South Alabama. Love the layout of the whole unit especially the closet sive. Highly recommendable!

Colin and Macy are awesome! But maintenance is nowhere to be found. It takes about 6 weeks to get something fixed
