We had a rock hit our windshield and had to do all the usual shenanigans with our insurance. the surprise was we had to pay for each day the car was not able to be rented after we returned it while it was supposedly getting its windshield fixed. dont let a rock hit your windshield or anything accidental happen! they couldnt cut us a break even though we had the car for 2 weeks which was quite a lot of consistent income. -Julia Abrams & Clementine Schiavoni

We were having a terrible time trying to find a vehicle that would be cool for my son to ride in for his graduation parade. After all the stuff that has been happening we were trying to surprise him with something special. I called Jason at Dollar and he made our day, we would be able to get a white Dodge Rebel.we were so excited. We came back the next morning to pick up the Dodge with my son not knowing anything and the gentleman behind the counter said sorry the vehicle was promised to someone else but wasnt put in the computer. We were heartbroken. I know a vehicle is just a vehicle but this was for a special day.
They got me in when interprise wanted to charge me 560 and dollar rental did 156 you know who Im going through now thank you guys
We are not from Montana. But we rented car from dollar rental because our car was in the shop. Myself and 3 small children were returning a vehicle we rented. We had reservations from 8/23 - 8/26 we were told by Jerry that we would be charged 312$ for the 3 days Because we were returning on Wednesday at 8/26 and jerry said we had until midnight to return the vehicle before being charged an extra day We said that’s fine. We being the vehicle back on 8/26 at about 10:00- 11:00 pm and was greeted by the most rudest, self centered employee ZEB BURWICK. this guy was the most unprofessional person that I have ever encounter, upon walking in we waited a couple of minutes before he came from the back to take the keys from the rental from us. Upon that I had asked him how his night was going he just rolled his eye and said fine, after I got all my paperwork I noticed my paper work from picking up the rental and my paper work from dropping off the rental, had 2 different amounts on there, I noticed I was being charged an extra 100$ for an extra day. When I brought it up to zeb he had the most nastiest attitude ever and was just like “well that’s your bill, if you have an issue call my manager” I explained to him that this isn’t correct and he just turned Walked to the office and grabbed a card for his manager Jason and said here just call him cause I’m not going to change anything. So we just ended the conversation and headed for the door. My 8 yr old needed to use the restroom and proceeded into the bathroom when he came out zeb came power walking with his negative attitude and yelled at my son asking him “what are you doing?” Is there anyone in the bathroom my son replied “No” zeb then said “well keep the door open then” then turns around slams his main lobby door and puts up the closed sign and just left. I called the manager Jason to let him know what was going on, he told me he would call me in the morning to let me know what he finds out, well he called only to tell me Jerry told us return the vehicle by 8/26 by midnight only for jerry to write on the paper vehicle will be returned at 12:00PM afternoon them knowing I was about 8-10 hours away and was driving with small children. But they didn’t care they just charged us an extra day and at that point there was just no talking to them so I left it at that and just got charged an extra day that I did not useI’m giving this 1 star due to zeb being a negative employee I hope to never ever rent from Missoula Dollar rental again. AND if I do I hope I get a different agent, dollar rental was our families last resort. All other rental companies were sold out or had certain rules on DL from out of state, this 1 Star is also being given to the lack of communication between the employees and us. To be told one thing and see jerry put another thing on paper then for the manager to not even acknowledge or help was just beyond belief.Zeb I hope you read this and change your attitude. You shouldn’t be in a customer service Job if you are going to act that way towards customers. You honestly gave us the worst experience I don’t know if it was cause you were tired, or upset at something but you were completely disrespectful this night and hope another mother with small children don’t have to experience your negative energy.

Great price but they will not rent to you if you are travelling out of state. Unfortunately this left us high and dry during the holiday weekend, and I could have saved 10% elsewhere since I made reservations a month ago. No where did it say that in the rental agreement until we were standing at the counter. You should really remove yourself from national reservations if you do not have the same standards. Nice enough people, but we never should have had an agreement if they cannot deliver.
This was the first time I rented a car, and I have to say- they were a pleasure to work with. They picked up us from our hotel and took us to the car. It was very new and very nice, and we were even able to secure unlimited mileage for our trip that day. Their pricing beat all the competitors by a very large margin. They would earn my repeat business in a heartbeat if I was in the same position again. Awesome customer service!

Make sure you read the fine print before you waste your time trying to get a ride to their facility. Debit card rentals require and extra $500 deposit! They dont give a rats hind end to mention this on the phone if you call ahead.
If I could give 0 stars I would. We were quoted one price and upon return informed we owed almost a hundred dollars more. The employee that handled the return was rude and unprofessional. We had unlimited miles and he informed us that we would be in trouble because we drove to Utah.????? when you pay extra money for unlimited miles dont you think that you should be able to use the unlimited miles?????? I guess not...... trust me go somewhere else..

Worst customer service Ive ever recieved. Called 3 different times and was told each time to call back in 15 minutes because he was busy and only one working (and I completely understand that) but when I called the last time to get prices and info on what wed need to rent a car his response to me was the internet does exist you know. I couldnt believe the response I got. I was stranded on the side of the road barely had service and when we tried looking online it wouldnt let us look at cars to rent for that day because it said this day has past. Ended up using a car rental in airport so much more friendly and helpful!
The company I work for only rents from Dollar. They are wonderful to work with. Cars are clean, and always in great condition. The staffs customer service is impeccable. We are repeat customers for a reason.
A good place to get a car without much hassle. The car was nice and clean with a full gas tank and the employee was nice. I had tried to get a car from Enterprise but neither of my credit cards would process in thier system. There was nothing anyone could do for me without a functional physical credit card. I went to Dollar because they accept debit (with a rather large security deposit) but as it turned out I didnt need to deal with that because my credit cards worked there with no issues. My only complaint would be that they seem to have only one employee who runs both the office and the shuttle so if he is out driving you must wait outside for him to return. Its a minor inconvenience but considering its a rather small company it is understandable.

I love this place, best car rental agency in Missoula. They pick you up and drop you off anywhere in town, the car rental process is quick and simple, their rates are the best in town and the people that work there are super friendly.
This has to be the worst experience I’ve ever had with a car rental company. I reserved a vehicle online for my trip to Montana weeks before my flight out there. I chose Dollar because they were significantly cheaper than any other car rental in Missoula. The day of my flight, during my layover in Minneapolis, my second flight into Missoula was delayed. I was worried we wouldn’t make it before midnight so I tried clicking the “view/modify/cancel” button on the website to modify my reservation for the next morning. That didn’t work. There was no where on the site to modify my rental. Luckily, the delay wasn’t as long as we expected and instead of landing at 10pm, the flight would be landing closer to 11pm (still doable for a pickup before midnight!). I called the 800 number in my confirmation email to get squared away and find out how to access the shuttle to the rental building (I wanted to know where I was going once we landed since it would be so late). The man I spoke to incorrectly informed me that Dollar was located within the baggage claim area. I had to tell him it wasn’t. After he realized I was right, he assured me that when I landed, I could proceed to baggage claim and there would be a number to call for the Dollar shuttle. We landed a little after 11pm and made it to baggage claim by 11:15. I found the number listed on the billboard for all the hotels and shuttles. It told me to “Dial 20” from the landline phone provided. I picked up and dialed 20 and got a message that said “the person you are trying to reach has a voice mailbox that has not been set up”. I thought maybe the ‘speed dial’ was faulty so I called the actual number listed on the sign for Dollar Car rental. I got a hotel instead and the woman on the other end told me she always gets calls for Dollar..... now I’m perplexed. I decide to check the number in my confirmation email. It matches the number for the hotel - definitely NOT Dollar Car rental. From here I decide to try the 800 number again. They’re not IN Missoula but maybe they can at least contact the local branch for me. The customer service rep repeated back the same number for the hotel that I had now tried twice. I told him “that’s not the local branch. It’s a hotel and they have no idea anything about a rental car company”.... he told me that he would personally contact them to let them know that I was at the airport and ready for the shuttle and to pickup my car. He told me “you will receive a call from them VERY shortly.” Well 25 minutes went by and it was now 11:45 and if they were not sending the shuttle at 11:15, they weren’t sending it now. I gave up. Between the number listed on the sign IN the airport being wrong, to the customer service rep being useless, to whoever was supposed to work until midnight cutting out at 11pm.... I was over using this company. Instead, I took the 24 hour shuttle to the hotel I had booked and reserved a car with a different company for the next morning. It has now been a week and a half and I have not received a phone call, an email, or anything from Dollar Car rental regarding picking me up at the airport or my “missed reservation”. I DID get an email asking me to please use them ‘again’ for my ‘next rental’. What a joke!

Returned the car to this location after a day trip from Kalispell to Missoula. Went in to get a recipt, guy checks the car and then claims wed smoked in it. Neither my wife, daughter or I smoke. They thankfully let me take the car to get gas (we forgot in the rush to get to the air port). I brought it back and insisted yet again that noone in our group had smoked in the car. A different guy went out to check it, and came back this time saying there were cigarette burns in the car. Again WE DONT SMOKE! None of us noticed any hint of smoking in the car. In the end they didnt charge us (at least at the counter) and said they will check with the Kalispell manager about the car. Personally I still think its just a racket as they charge an extra $250 if they have to clean the car after smoking in it (which we didnt...uh because we dont smoke). Ill never use Dollar again after this experience.
