I was able to get an appointment within an hour of calling.The shop is clean and decorated in an interesting way that helped me while away the.minutes while my hair was being cut.My barber did a great job and followed my requests exactly.The price was reasonable.Next time in Missoula and in need of a haircut I will definitely go back to Compass.

Absolutelty loved my experience at Compass Barber Shop!I went in needing an ideal style and received outstanding service. It didnt take more than 30 minutes for the haircut. Very quick.Jason took a real genuine interest in my hair and how we could get it cut to my preferred style.I will definitely be making more appointments with Compass due to Jasons professional service, and I highly recommend anyone to do the same.

I’m spending some time in Montana with family, and have been looking for a place to get a skin fade from someone wearing a mask. I got that and so much more at Compass. Smalls was a skilled barber and gave me one of the best fades of my life, was totally clear and respectful with Covid guidelines, and all that came along with a good conversation and tips on where I could find tacos. Oh, almost forgot about Otis, the shop dog who greeted me as I walked in. What an absolute stud muffin.Can’t wait to go back.

First off, I am beyond picky and have no affiliation w/ this barber shop. That said, I had the most professional and attentive cut from Anna. She is a beautiful woman who takes her time and knows what she is doing. The rest of the staff also seemed very professional. Very comfortable, ideal setting. The best haircut Ive had in a long time. I have extremely thick, long hair and now it is light and bouncy, and my natural waves can finally come through. Smalls knew exactly what to do with my hair, even when I explained what I wanted very poorly. Ill definitely be coming back from now on. I love my hair again!

Hands down, this is is the best barber shop in town. I have never had a closer skin fade than one give by Smalls. They are very friendly, reasonably priced and the atmosphere is amusing. I left Missoula last October and I havent found a place comparable to Compass anywhere in OR. Miss this place.

The waiting area is amazing, the ambience was stellar and I have never felt so relaxed getting a haircut! I was well taken care of, and my haircut looked amazing! I had my hair cut with Zac today and wow! I’ve never had such an amazing experience getting my hair cut. Zac gave me the best haircut I’ve ever gotten and was extremely professional and focused. I’ve been to many different barbers and it was the first time I felt like someone truly cared about doing a great job. Zac cut my hair like it was his own. I highly recommend going here, I have a lot of confidence that any of the barbers will exceed your expectations.

Shop was nice but Anna was not personable, not prepared, and didnt give me what I asked for. Paid for 45 minute cut and asked for a bald fade, which costs extra btw. I received neither, for a $35 haircut, very disappointing!

Id spent a little while switching between barbershops to see what works best for me and my schedule. Never have settled on one but this shop is fantastic. It is a nice quiet shop right on the hip strip that is welcoming and friendly. Definitely worth going to for a good haircut and a good time.

I have been getting my hair cut here pretty much since they first opened and I could never say one bad word about them. By this time, the stylists and I have formed more of a friendship rather than a simple patron/provider relationship and I look forward to each appointment I have scheduled.Collaborating with them on the haircut youre looking for is part of the process, especially until you find a cut you like. Several of my initial visits (and some recent ones, even) have been spent finding what works and what doesnt and I can always rely on a professional opinion and honest answer on what will look good and what wont. *IF* I have ever been displeased with a cut, the fault has been mine alone. That being said, they will do what they can to fix any issues that may come up in regards to your satisfaction with your cut.I hope that this shop continues to flourish for years to come and if I ever move away, Im going to do my best to persuade them to come with me so I never have to go somewhere else.Thanks for being amazing, guys!

After reading all of these overwhelmingly positive reviews, I thought to myself, there is NO way all of these people had the best haircut of their life here. After I had my appointment, I understand. This place has it all- friendly, professional staff, lots of awesome/weird/amazing art all over the walls, cold beer, and yes- the best haircut of my life. I wish I lived closer to the area so that I could get my hair cut by Smalls EVERY DAY.

Ive been getting my haircut here with Smalls for a couple of years. I love the atmosphere and the people, and Ive gotten the best compliments on my haircuts; namely, my wife said to thank Smalls for a job well done (which she has never said for any other barber) 😆.

Ive had my hair cut by both Zac and Smalls and they do a great job. They also listen to my dumb stories and warn me first if the haircut I ask for might look weird on my cube-shaped head. Make sure you book an appointment several days in advance if you have to come in on a weekend or need a specific time, its super easy to do online.

This wouldve been a 5 star rating, but the haircut wasnt quite what i had in mind. The atmosphere is great, employees were friendly and prompt and they use a straight razor to clean up your neck fur. Its just a tad pricey, not too bad.

I just had the best shave and haircut from two incredible craftsmen. Shannon and Zac have the skill and attention to detail you would only expect from 40-year veterans in the industry. Yet, they aren’t jaded and they know when to really take their time for that classic, quality look. This has to be the best barbershop in the state!

I’ve been searching around for a place to get my haircut since I’ve moved here 6 years ago. I went here a few weeks ago and got my haircut with Zac and it was the best haircut I’ve ever gotten! The look and energy of the shop was fantastic and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. And the prices are relatively affordable for a men’s haircut! Definitely can’t wait to go back!

Came in as walk-in and was told they would just barely have time to squeeze me in between appointments. Before my cut even started another customer walked in and my barber insisted she could actually fit him in too just give her “ten to fifteen minutes.” That had me nervous already because it was clear she was planning on rushing through me to get to the next customer in time. She cut my hair extremely fast. I had to instruct her to cleanly edge the back because she hadn’t done it and she complied but did insist it wouldn’t grow back as nice... Besides disagreeing with my cutting choices and rushing through I thought the cut was still good, the big mirror is pretty far away but it looked alright. Now that I’m home and can inspect closely I can see that my sides aren’t buzzed evenly, a big section above one ear is cut super short in a narrow section that clashes with a rest and looks like she slipped with the razor. Besides that glaring error the whole job was really rushed and maybe I’m not astute enough to pick out the differences myself but I’m used to a cut that takes 20 to 25 minutes and costs 15 or so. This took 10, didn’t come out great, and cost me 22 before the tip. I’m usually not a big griper over bad service but it’s a bummer when it’s your hair and you have to live with it till the next cut or pay to have someone fix it up. Nice atmosphere though...

This is by far the best barbershop in town! Its a comfortable and welcoming space and, most importantly, the haircut was second-to-none. Ive gotten a haircut from both Zac and Smalls at this point and you cant go wrong with either. My most recent cut was with Zac and he really took his time and made sure it was just right. I was blown away with how much more care and consideration was taken compared to even other nice hair places.

I love Shannons haircuts. She does it just like I want! Zac told me to start brushing my hair more and now its getting thicker and less dry! LOVE these guys!

By far the best place around. I live in great falls and was commuting to missoula about once a week for 7(ish) months and ever couple weeks I was at compass. No where in great falls or missoula can you get the quality or the atmosphere as compass. Good music, local artwork, and zac and smalls are both awesome to talk too.
