Ive had my hair cut here many times over the years. The owner is always very courteous, and offers good pricing compared to other shops(even with the recent raise in cost during the pandemic.) For a while I was keeping my hair pretty short, and he always did a great job giving me the cut I wanted during that time.However, I had been letting my hair get a little longer, and when I came in for my most recent cut, it was absolutely the worst hair cut Ive ever had. I have pretty thick hair, and can understand how someone might be less familiar with a certain hair type. But I would expect a professional to admit his lack of expertise with a certain hair type and suggest me to go somewhere else. Instead he did my entire haircut using texturing shears, without a single use of normal scissors/shears. While this struck me as odd, I wasnt about to tell a professional how to do their job. But this was by far the worst haircut I have ever had in my life. It doesnt matter that it was affordable, because I had to go to a much higher end shop and pay extra to have someone else fix my hair.Ive had great haircuts here, and Ive seen and heard many others receive great haircuts from here. If you want a fade or another short hairstyle I would definitely recommend this place. But if your hair is long, thick, or curly, Id HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest going somewhere else that has more experience with cutting that specific hairstyle.

Clean, quiet shop with an excellent barber. Takes his time, precise, and listened exactly to my preferences. Probably the best haircut Ive gotten in a decade. Highly recommended, will definitely return.

I was visiting Missoula for some R&R and really needed a hair cut and beard trim. I searched for barbers near me and ended up at the Bighorn Barber shop. I waited for 2 people ahead of me and wondered if I was going to be disappointed. It was well worth the wait. The older gentleman that cut my hair did a fantastic job and and I was pleasantly surprised and it was well worth the wait for an excellent cut.

Never know how much its going to cost you. The sign says $16 for a hair cut. I paid $17 the poor guy ahead of me got dinged for $20.

I needed my bangs trimmed... They obviously dont do many of those, but I decided to give it a try and Im glad I did. The gentleman did a better job in about half of the time than any other place I have ever been. I am thrilled with my cut and will be coming back here for my next one from now on.

Walked in off the street after seeing online reviews of the place, and left totally impressed. Mel gave me a fantastic fade, was very careful to really understand what it was I wanted (I don’t know much about hair so took a little conversing to figure out), and was very down to earth and easy to converse with during the cut itself. Plus, the prices are great; $16 for a men’s cut! Give these guys your business!

I just moved to Montana from Oregon. I asked to bring in the sides on the cheeks and then to square off the bottom to even it out. Instead he removed almost 80% of my large beard and now I’m starting back over. I could have done this at home with my own buzzer. Thanks for removing 4 inches of my beard and bringing it up to my jawline. I literally asked for it to be squared off at the bottom, not removed entirely.

My husband has been coming here for years and now my sons are also fans. Really excellent, detailed, high-quality cuts every time! John takes such care to give you a cut that looks really professional and clean. And what a bargain! John is a hidden gem. Highly recommended!

Ive been going to those great clips type places for too long. It was a great change at Bighorn to tell that the guy takes pride in what hes doing and cares about his business. Not to mention give a great haircut for $14. Found my new barber shop. Highly recommended.

Clean shop and my barber Ford was a nice guy. Sadly, the haircut itself was very uneven. Poor lineup as well with a bunch of spots being either missed or others gashed out.Had to drive to another shop to have the entire thing fixed.

I have been growing my hair out since last July, only a couple of trims at one of those chain hair places. Decided to go back to short hair and ask Mel to do a high bald fade with length left on top. That exactly what I got. Mel faded it to perfection and continually checked his work to make sure it was perfect. Even if I dont keep my hair this short I will happily return and let Mel cut my hair again.

This guy is absolutely phenomenal, I made a huge Mistake going to Dillards to get a hair cut, someone had reccomended me and I placed my trust in this place. Long story short, this Dillards Haircut was so terrible, that I can safely say that self-performed haircuts I have done were way better. It looked like a blind 4 year old cut my hair with fingernail clippers. This guy was able to help salvage this mess. I was impressed with his ability to fix it. A True Hair Artist. I cant wait until my hair grows back out so I can get a proper haircut the way I want it! Thanks again!

A little trepidation at first, as the first gentleman got a military cut (active Army). I never faced the mirror once during my cut and it seemed liked mounds of hair were coming off my already-balding scalp. Was sure I would have nothing left by the end when he finally let me see his masterpiece. Excellent job all the way around and EXACTLY as I requested it. Couldnt be happier!

This place was great! I was just passing through town, and needed a cut on a Saturday. The barber (John I think) was very professional. I have an easy cut, but he took his time to make sure the fade was right. Almost makes me want to drive the 1.5 hours from my home to get my next cut.

Ive been pretty spoiled in the past with my Barber Shops, both of the ones I used prior to moving here were over 40 years old and absolutely flawless in their work. I moved to Missoula at the start of 2016 and could not for the life of me find a barber shop that gave me the cut I asked for. I kept walking out with different hairstyles than I requested and would have to grow it back out for several months before trying again.Bighorn is the first Barber Shop Ive walked into where my expectations were both met and exceeded. The attention to detail was flawless, I havent felt this good about a cut in 18 months. I will definitely be a return customer for as long as I live here. You wont find a better fade or a better cut at any other Barber Shop, trust me, I tried a lot of them.
