If I could give them zero I would. I booked my truck rental over a month ago for tomorrow to move across country and just today they said they do not possess a single truck. Despite being a truck rental company this place does not have any trucks. Do not trust them with your move. They will leave you scrambling to try to find another way to move. So unprofessional. How do you advertise yourself as Budget *Truck Rental* but not have any trucks to rent, even when you promise a truck when you reserve one a month in advance. Truly horrible business. Do not use.
Pretty straight forward complaint:I made a reservation ten days in advance; 30 minutes before my scheduled pick up they cancel my reservation. I called to find out why and the person on the phone didnt know what was going on and couldnt offer me a straight answer.
Awful company. They cancelled my girlfriends truck reservation days before her move after she had reserved a month in advance. They told her they didnt have any trucks available and dont actually do anything to reserve them. Never use Budget Truck.
I am very satisfied with the level of customer service they offer. They made sure my road trip is going to be pleasant from the get go. And during the process of checking the vehicle, he helps you with valuable inputs to make sure Im happy with the vehicle I am renting. Thank you. Nice owner - nice guy.
I made a reservation on 8/17/2020 to pick up a truck on 8/30/2020 and return on 9/1/2020. The company confirmed the reservation and notified me by email. On 8/26/2020, a few days before my move, they send me an email stating they cancelled my reservation. They did not provide any clear reasons and did not help me find a new truck. Get your operations in line. This is unacceptable!
I’m never going back to Uhaul. Budget has better trucks and prices. Oh and nice people at the counter!
Had confirmed reservation, called two days prior to tell me we did not. Offered no help at all except call 800#, then their very rude inventory control person, in Colorado, informs me that is nothing available. No offers of help, substitution, etc. Nothing, just sorry we are cancelling your reservation, a day after receiving an email confirming my van was ready. Been renting 40 years, never experienced such absolute lack of responsibility.
Came all the way from Illinois. When we got there they didn’t have the van, didn’t care, wouldn’t help. The worst, deserve -1 if possible. Go somewhere else, save the time and aggravation.
So July 17th I reserved a 12ft Budget Truck for Fri 8/30-Mon 9/02...get a call this morning essentially saying“uh sorry we won’t have a truck for you tomorrow because it’s in the shop and nothing else is available anywhere”youre welcome to call customer serviceCustomer service : sorry well have the manager call you about thisManager : Were cancelling the reservation theres nothing available for you have a good day, clickWtf Budget...Took a while and lots of looking and calming exercises but I was able to snag a U-haul Cargo Van thats up north just a bit and at least I got something thanks to U-Haul
Worst service ever. Reserved a 12 truck a month in advance for 8 AM pickup on July 31st. Daughter had to be out of apartment by noon. Showed up - while in line heard the employee tell group in front of me only trucks available are 26 as the previous renters had not returned them - 16 for them and 12 for me. Budget had scheduled my truck to be returned the morning I was to pick it up - not the day before - the morning of!! And they could not reach renters by phone. Who runs a business like that!! I could not use a 26 - way too big for small back of apartment parking lots I was going to in SE Mpls. I left. Thankfully - Reddy Rents on Hiawatha had a small van available. Had to make extra trips but got move done. NEVER using Budget again!! If I could make this rating ZERO Stars I would.UPDATE: 2 days later my credit card was charged by Budget. So even though they had no truck for me, they left my reservation active. I had to call 800 number to get it resolved. Supposed to get credit back in 5 - 7 days - we will see. Inexplicable incompetence.
If I could give zero stars, I would! They cancelled my reservation a day before picking up. No compensation and or attempt to get me a vehicle. Very disappointing.
They couldnt get my truck to my pick up location so I had to get it from the drop off... They only charged me for in town and gave me an extra 70 free miles... it was cheapen than penske by $200 and they were much nicer... I plan on using them again
They were great. I was expecting them to throw on late charges or something but they were really easy going. They did however quote me a couple different prices.
Very sad. I would be careful with this rental place. I called the office to rent a car. I was told they dont have any available. I left my phone number to call me when they do have one available. At the same time I was checking online, if there is any rental within my surroundings. It showed up this place have a car for rent. I was very confused and shocked when the lady on the phone told me she doesnt have it but the website shows they have one. At this point I discovered they are profiling me because I have an accent. I didnt say anything I just reserved the car and went with my reservation. They cant denied me since I have a proof of reservation. I told the lady I have a reservation she said sorry we dont have that price but if they offer me for to upgrade for an extra $10. Also that could have been communicated on the phone before I got to their office. I guess my look, my accent made them that I cant afford to rent for extra money so I walk away. I agreed to it cause I need a car to rent. My car was at the mechanic. I didnt want to use a race card but I was saddened and very distrub very much.When I returned the car. I mentioned to the manger. I asked him why they didnt call me and why they denied me to rent me a car. His answer was very disturbing as well.. He said someone returned the car and they were busy to call. He didnt know i was checking online @same time. I will spread my words as much as I can, to make sure Minneapolis dont tolerate race profiling. I pay my tax and right to live like anyonelse.Racism dont have no place. This dude forgot he runs his business in the inner city with diverse ethnic and backgrounds if you dont want to rent us because of our backgrounds or accent then you need to pack up go somewhere else. STOP PROFILING PEOPLE WITH THEIR ACCENTS OR BACKGROUND. DONT JUDGE US. WE ARE NOT CRIMINALS . WE WORK HARD AND PAY OUR TAXES LIKE ANYONE ELSE. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO JUDGE PEOPLE. ONLY GOD COULD JUDGE PEOPLE.If you are people of a color or anyone with an accent be careful when you dealing with this rental place. I am sure you are going to try to cover this review by asking your friend or family. Am sure someone will read it. You cant hide the truth what you could is to apologize and change your head to accept and treat people the same way you wanted to be treated or accepted by anyone,.Keep that in mind!!!
They have amazing customer service. I especially appreciate the next-day return (as opposed to U-hauls effort to schedule one truck to several people in a day). It made my moving experience much less stressful. The customer service was also less niggardly: they did not inspect my sweeping, the paperwork was less onerous, and the truck came with a handtruck. I dont know if this last detail is standard, however. I also had a problem with the truck such that I could not refill the gas tank (someone had snuck onto their lot and vandalized the truck). They were very understanding and thanked me for bringing it to their attention, and did not charge me for the fuel that I had used. I think my total rental cost less than a similar sized vehicle at U-haul, and the wait was much shorter. I would definitely choose this location over other moving rental companies in the twin cities even if it cost $30 less at a competitor.
Realized once the bill came that we were charged more than expected. Looking over the paperwork, the Odometer Out reading was 120947, but when we got the truck is was 120966 (I took a picture before/after figuring that was how Id prove how many miles we used being that we were to receive 25 free ones for having our reservation switched due to a truck breaking down). So whoever did the paperwork added 19 miles on to our total right off the bat. I did not even realize this error was on the agreement until after I signed it, thus Im stuck with owing for the extra miles. Yeah its roughly only $9, but thats still $9 Im out for their error. Wont be going with this Budget for the next move.
