I have been a physician consultant for almost 10 years with Vital WorkLife. Our system of physician support has saved many professional careers and helped numerous health systems deal with employees and physicians having problems, over that intervening time. Vital WorkLifes system works, and the professional support it provides has proven helpful through its network of vetted counsellors and physicians. As a successful business, Vital WorkLife maintains its own cadre of social workers, therapists and physicians who know the clients we deal with and their problems, in the context of their professional organizations. It is a highly adapted service exploring the interaction of an employee within the context of an organization. This is a fundamental way in which Vital WorkLife distinguishes itself from organizations that do, specifically, individual counseling.
I have had the opportunity to work with Vital Worklife for the last 9 years and have found them easy to work with, there commitment to helping health care practitioners succeed is second to none. The consultants they use are highly trained and know how to help people and organizations have better clinical and relational outcomes. Successes have included helping practitioners navigate changes in practice, retirement, leadership development, conflict management, practice management, performance, etc. I highly recommend them
Not a very helpful company. They will approve you for five sessions a year, but only with their approved providers. Even if you have already established care with another provider, they dont value your existing therapeutic relationship and will require you to start over with a new practitioner. Very corporate and bureaucratic approach to mental health. `Quick update on my review in response to the companies response. I already went through the process of asking for my current provider to be credentialed. I made it clear I was willing to wait for a credentialing process to occur and was still told no. My clinician is fully licensed and is willing to do the credentialing process or even do a one time fee agreement. This is a clinician I feel comfortable with and I was clear on the line during my first call that I did not want to start over and go through the process of familiarizing a stranger with all my history. No flexibility was offered and I was told there are enough providers in my area.
I am an emergency physician and certified coach. I have worked with VITAL for several years coaching my peers. The program they have developed since I started with them is the Gold standard by which other programs are measured. When I first became a coach to other physicians and APPs, I thought any certified could be doing the coaching I was providing. I was told otherwise. It matters to my clients that I work in the trenches. The people I work with at VITAL genuinely care about the issues that face my clients and provide a comprehensive, Cadillac product for healthcare organizations.
I have been a consultant for many years with Vital and have referred many people to use their services. They respect where people are at when they make the initial call, value confidentiality, and try to be as flexible as possible for us as providers and for every call or interaction they receive. I wish they were my EAP option for my family .
