If I could offer the restaurant some advice it would be that the dishes lacked ingredients. I feel the used spice as a substitute for flavor as well. There is minimal chicken. Also, it is okay to raise the price 2 or 3 dollars and fill up the canisters the entire way. This is common restaurant practice and it is expected by the customer. Thank you for making online ordering easy and having a friendly staff. The restaurant itself is clean.

3 of 5 selections were good. The pad thai noodles were under-cooked. Service was attentive. Overall fairly decent with most of the standard offerings you might expect from a Thai restaurant. I dont recall anything particularly unique to them on the menu though but I would not swear there wasnt.

Maybe its because I have been spoiled with authentic Thai but my friend and I were both disappointed. We got the fried spring rolls, red curry, and Supenns Thai pasta. Asked for a 4/5 spice on both. Asked the server for recommendations, she said that she was real basic and only ate the pad Thai and fried rice. The red curry was very thin, without a lot of flavor. The Supenns was rice noodles topped with raw broccoli, raw carrots and raw cauliflower. Also super thin curry base. The Supenns couldnt be ordered mild not sure why other than there were 2 slices of jalapeno on the dish which was the most flavorful part of it all. The difference in spice level just was the amount of red pepper flakes on top. We ended up using a lot of the chili oil, but even the chili oil at the table was weak it was just dried chili flake and in oil. Some fresh Thai chilis, basil, and ginger would go a long way at this place. Service was good, pricing was fine. Sorry this review comes off so negative, the food wasnt bad, it was just disappointing.

Terrific place! We had intended to go to another Thai restaurant, but when we got there, they were not taking any more walk-ins. This place was a close walk from the Depot and the Guthrie Theater. The pho soup we had was delicious and much more than we could eat! They had many other yummy looking things on the menu that I hope we will get to try when we go back. Its definitely when and not if!

This was my first time at Sawatdee & I got take out panang curry and the appetizer sampler for 2. The service was quick & the employees were very friendly but the food was just ok. The sampler was significantly better than the curry. The curry had very little flavor & barely any sauce. I’ll keep hunting for a good local Thai place but if were to go back I would likely order something else.

I want to really give this place a great review because during the construction from what I have seen they have lost a lot of business. I went during lunch time expecting to take part in their lunch buffet, however the food looked unappealing. I have provided pictures of it. Due to the food looking like it has been there awhile I decided to order off the menu. I ordered Sue’s Famous State Fair egg rolls and the stuffed chicken I’m not sure of the menus name. On the menu it states the chicken is stuffed with noodles and vegetables m. As you can see from the picture it was filled with noodles and about 2 mushrooms. The egg rolls were dry and not like the ones I had at the state fair with fish oil. They serve sweet and sour sauce. The service was great and that is why they get 2 stars.

Its okay. This is probably the only Thai place in this area of downtown Minneapolis. If youre really craving Thai food and you can not leave downtown Minneapolis, come here. We got our food in a good amount of time. Food was okay (2/5) but for the price we paid, I was expecting more quantity. We requested more rice twice and never got it, even thought it was only just us and 2 other groups of people. We got our water refilled though. It was my first time here so I was expecting it to be good but the overall reviews on Google Reviews are quite accurate.

Really just the worst Thai I have had in my life. I have had better at the MOA food court. We ordered take out. The calamari was supposed to be lightly breaded. Half was breaded and not fresh. The egg rolls were mushy. We ordered pad thai which had no flavor at all. The chicken wings were okay. The best part was the mango and that is it. Ill add photos later as google is holding up my review.

Food was okay. Pad see ew noodles were not fully cooked nor were the broccoli in it. Then I ordered the mango sweet rice because how can you mess up a dessert?Well, the rice wasnt fully soaked in whatever sweet sauce they usually use for it. It just tasted like I ate sticky rice with mango. The red curry was decent, but mild is actually pretty spicy still - heads up!Also, you have to do meter parking and are limited to 2 hours at their restaurant.

I had a very disappointing experience with this restaurant. I ordered here since they indicated that they offer curbside pickup. However, when calling them once I was there and requested for the curbside pickup option, the lady that picked the phone insisted that I come in because they are open. When I said I wanted to do curbside pickup she slammed the phone, came out and once again literally slammed the bag of food on my car trunk. It was extremely rude - zero customer service! Please do not state you offer curbside pickup if you don’t do so to mislead people. Also to note, their food was mediocre. Overall, the most disappointing takeout experience ever.

Recently moved to the area and was excited to try this place given my love for Thai food. On 6/13/21, I put in a pick up order for the Pad Thai, Spring Rolls, and Wontons. The Pad Thai tasted like it was soaked in my dogs water bowl. We ordered it with extra spice and peanuts and there was none. Not a single trace of either. Imagine plain noodles with tasteless chicken. In Sawatdees defense, the spring rolls and wontons were decent.I very rarely call a restaurant to complain but it felt like a moral obligation at that point. After calling and explaining the situation, the new employee took my name and number and said the manager would call me back. After no call back, I called the next day and was told a manager would call me back yet again. That didnt happen. All this has led me to my first ever review of a restaurant. Id recommend Kindee Thai Restaurant on the other block. Havent tried their food yet but it literally cant be worse.

This food was so plain and greasy. It was some of the worst Thai food we have ever had. We got drunken noodles and a clear noodle dish and they both literally had very little taste and the taste it did had was greasy. We got egg rolls that were 96% full of cabbage and very little anything else. The best thing we ate were the cream cheese wantons. We paid over $45 for food we hated. Will never go here again.

Whatever you do, dont give their current cook any more business. Fried egg roll uncooked (how do you mess up FRIED), noodle dish clumped together sawdust flavored, beef tasted like actual dish soap, pork was so gristly and dry that we thought it was chicken, spice was 4 requested and got burnt salty overcooked instead. The only edible thing was the one they didnt cook ... The raw spring rolls. Will not be back until they change chefs or owners.

Got take out pad Thai, eaten here many times in person and it was great. The take out pad Thai felt like it was missing a major ingredient. It was just nearly clear noodles and bland beef. No salt. No sweetness. The noodles were congealed together and mushy. Needless to say it was horrible. Will be back after COVID but I won’t get takeout anymore

Unfortunately tried this place with my wife tonight and i wouldnt recomend strongly and this comes from a guy who eats everything. Noodle dishes are horible. Cold, no flavor, noodles undercooked, no amount of hot sausage, basil, lemon and soy sauce helped. Only ate the meat and left the rest on the plate. Any fast food would have been much better. You guys need a new cook.Came back home, my stomach hurts and my wife threw up as soon as we walked in the door. Not a good experience at all.

Food was pretty tasty although a little more expensive than was anticipated. The reason for 2 stars is due to inattentive waitress service (though pleasant enough) who did not stop by after taking our order until it was time to pay (despite that we were the only ones inside plus a few (3) people dining on the sidewalk). Also the Thai girl that brought something or other to the table was rudely dismissive when I had asked her a simple (albeit facetious) question re the rather large painting depicting scenery occurring in Thailand.

We had green curry with chicken, dumplings, mussels and tofu pad Thai. Overall, the food was good. The pad Thai was flavorful, and the dumplings were firm and meaty with good sauce. The green curry left something to be desired.
