This 5-star review for our October 23rd wedding at Watson Block is LONG overdue, but we had the most amazing experience working with everyone at Watson Block. Amber was so fantastic and did such a great job navigating a very stressful and complicated planning process during COVID and helped us have the most wonderful wedding day. Watson Block is a gorgeous venue that was just the right size for our 60 person wedding. The décor is beautiful, the chandeliers are amazing, and the location is great. I cannot say enough good things about Watson Block and highly recommend them to anyone looking to get married at a beautiful venue with great staff in the Twin Cities area. Thank you so much to Amber and everyone at Watson Block for helping make our dream wedding a reality.
Gorgeous, absolutely beautiful venue. Our wedding here was fantastic and Amber the venue rep/day of coordinator was amazing and saved me so much stress. Price to rent was also so reasonable for such a gorgeous space! So happy we picked this venue for the wedding, it was perfect.
I was in a beautiful wedding hosted at Watson Block and it was amazing! The event coordinator, Amber, did a great job with everything. The space is gorgeous with many small details. I highly recommend this venue.
The staff and venue were absolutely incredible. Our wedding was perfect with everything we could have hoped for.Amber is the best venue manager and will without a doubt give you an amazing wedding.Sarah was great with accommodating the catering and everything was so good! For anyone looking for a place to have a wedding this is a 10/10!
I just had my dream wedding at Watson Block a couple of weeks ago! The space is GORGEOUS with exposed brick, wood floors, crystal chandeliers, huge windows with a city view, floor length red drapes, leather lounge furniture, an infinity piano… the list could go on and on. We booked Watson Block without even looking at any other venues, we knew it was perfect from the moment we stepped inside. The best part about Watson Block is the staff. Amber, our venue coordinator, was AMAZING. Communication throughout the process was 10/10 (we booked over a year ago before covid hit). She helped us with every last detail and we honestly could not have done it without her!100000/10 would recommend Watson Block. We got so many compliments on our wedding. I cant say enough good things! It’s the perfect downtown city venue and everything I ever dreamed of.
Our son and new daughter just got married in this venue. Amber was beyond organized and helpful to the very last detail. As both sets of parents watched their children dance their first dance, Amber rushed a napkin over to us as she noticed a few tears. Seriously, beautiful, personal and the perfect city venue❤️
We knew right away Watson Block was the perfect venue for our wedding - we booked it without seeing any other venues in person. The venue coordinator was kind enough to let us bring back family members multiple times to show them the space after wed signed our contract as well. They had great recommendations for everything from a pianist to a valet parking vendor. As anyone who got married in 2020 can attest, planning was complicated to say the least. Amber at Watson was instrumental in helping us make informed decisions about the best way to create a safe, socially distanced but still elegant and memorable wedding reception. She so patiently answered all my questions and was a dream to work with leading up to the day of.We had the pleasure of working with Taylor at the venue on the day of our wedding. Taylor was a true rockstar. She helped coordinate deliveries from vendors, oversaw table setting setup, and helped add some of the finishing touches to our tables all while we were busy having photos taken and having out ceremony at an off-site location. She provided helpful, polite support all night long and I dont think we could have gotten through the day without her!Our reception at Watson was so lovely, not only for the decor and event design, but because the venue itself is beautiful. We especially love the bar and lounge areas and the large windows overlooking downtown provide amazing ambience. I would absolutely recommend Watson Block to anyone considering a venue in or near downtown Minneapolis.
I LOVED my experience at Watson Block! Amber the coordinator was so amazing, she made everything run so smoothly and better than I ever imagined, she also helped us set up our flowers on the tables and on our arch!! I dont know how much she gets paid but it is not enough and she needs a raise! Even in a pandemic she was able to make our wedding day perfect! Not to mention how beautiful the place is, everybody is still commenting on how beautiful Watson Block is 😍
My husband and I were married at Watson Block last month, and we (and our guests) have nothing but positive things to say! The venue is elegant, classy, and in a great location. The large windows, deco bar, exposed brick, timber, and chandeliers make this a beautiful space. We worked closely with Amber in days leading up to the wedding to finalize details and day-of, she coordinated vendor drop offs and timing of our ceremony and reception so I didnt have to sweat the details. 10/10 would recommend!
We just had our wedding here the weekend before last and it couldnt have gone better! After a ton of shopping around, we found the price at Watson Block to be unbeatable, and the space was perfect for our 55 guests (and can accommodate more). We worked with Bria and Sarah throughout the process and they were fantastic, and responsive! Bria was an absolute hero to us because she took the initiative to persuade her bosses to remove the oversized TV that hung above the ceremony space. I cant describe the relief we felt to see the TV gone and not have to worry about trying to cover it up anymore. They were so open to helping us achieve our vision by letting us move other venue items around and get the exact layout we wanted. They even let our florist (Richfield Flowers) hang 50 ft of smilax vine along the ceiling beams, which completely transformed the space!Bria worked with our other vendors and our day-of-coordinator (Emmy Ross of Posies and Poise) to ensure the evening went smoothly. Having Bria there on the day-of was such a huge bonus that made things run so smoothly! We went through one of Watson Blocks preferred caterers, Sterling Catering, and couldnt be happier with how well they worked together. The food was delicious and working with one of their own caterers made it so easy because they already had a good working relationship. The venue came with so many items you dont often get at other places, such as beautiful lounge furniture, large area rugs (which we incorporated into the ceremony decor), tables, chairs (though we opted to rent different ones), and little decor items such as decorative books and small planters. We had a DJ who brought sound equipment, but Watson Block has a built in sound system that we could have used if we wanted to DIY the music. The preferred caterer we used (Sterling Catering) provides linens and dinnerware, in the cost, though we chose to make our own linens to fit our vision. But its a huge cost saver if you use their linens! While they dont have their own parking at the venue (because its downtown), there are plenty of options for self-parking, valet services, or opting to use public transport. A lot of our guests used Uber or Lyft, and some parked at the Ramp C parking garage, which is just a 3 minute walk from the venue (and you can leave the car there overnight). The aesthetics of this venue are what ultimately sold me on it. So many places just werent to my taste, but Watson Block had the perfect elements that made it aesthetically pleasing, while also being easy to transform into your own unique design vision. We loved the huge walls of windows, the wood floors, the brick walls, and the fact that the other colors used in the space (deep red curtains, and gray-blue walls) went well with many other colors. The only sore spots were the TV (which Bria managed to get removed) and the 6 frames pictures that hung on the wall (which they allowed us to replace with our own art during the event). So with those things amended, it was ideal for us!Thank you so much Bria, Sarah, and everyone else affiliated with Watson Block who made our day so perfect! We have heard so many rave reviews from all of our guests and couldnt be happier with our venue choice!
Watson Block would have been a perfect venue for our January 2021 wedding. We werent able to have the reception we wanted because of COVID and Walzs restrictions, but the staff at WB handled the situation with grace and ultimately we decided to cancel. We dont have a single bad thing to say about their staff and the space. Its gorgeous and navigating the constantly changing restrictions was difficult. Sarah and Amber kept us up to date on how WB was implementing the various changes and it would have been a dream to host a snowy reception in the space.
Everything about Watson Block is great! I stumbled over Watson Block online, liked the pictures but the minute I stepped into the venue I loved it right away. Bria was simply amazing, very professional and timely in her response. My Guests were very impressed and everyone had lots of beautiful comments about the Venue. The pictures and every moment was simply amazing!I had a 40th Birthday party for my husband and we all loved the experience.
Watson Block was the perfect space for our fall wedding. I lost count of the number of guests who told me how much they loved the venue. We opted to have ceremony seating followed by a room flip for dinner for 110 people. The flip was seamless and Bria was amazing throughout the planning process. We had quite a few vendors (Claire Ward illustrations, North Mallow s’mores bar, Mirror Me Perfect photo booth, Adagio DJ) and Bria was incredibly helpful in figuring out how to maximize the space. She even sent a floor plan so we could visualize how everything would look. I highly recommend taking advantage of the beautiful piano and hiring a pianist. Sharon Planer played the piano throughout the ceremony, room flip and dinner. The price point was awesome and much lower compared to other venues we looked at. The best part - our dog Leonard was able to spend the entire day with us. I would recommend Watson Block to anyone!
Perfect place to hold small event. Great people work there.
This venue is absolutely beautiful! Our wedding reception was set up in a cocktail party fashion with appetizers and desserts. People couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful the venue is. Catering options allowed for a great variety. Bria was fabulous as the venue manager and made sure that we were well cared for and made us feel comfortable asking any questions or requests. We decorated with simple floral centerpieces and candles scattered throughout the space, no need for more since it’s such a natural beauty on its own. Thank you! Kim and Ron.
Cannot say enough great things about Watson Block! I recently worked with Bria and the Watson Block team for a clients wedding day and they were so amazing! They were flexible, easy to work with, kind, and fun to spend an entire wedding day with. The guests had nothing but amazing things to say all night and Im so happy that everyone had such a great time at Watson Block. Would highly recommend Watson Block for your next event, you will love the team and space, its beautiful, unique, and youll be so happy with your decision.
Watson Block was absolutely wonderful!! We had a cocktail style reception with 70 people. We used the beautiful lounge furniture that they have and people enjoyed being able to have a few different areas to hang out when taking breaks from dancing. The space is so beautiful minimal additional decoration is needed, we only brought in a few floral centerpieces. The exposed brick, big windows and chandeliers really lend themselves to beautiful backgrounds for pictures (even ones the guests took turned out so lovely). The downtown location was wonderful and easy for us to do some outdoor pictures near by. Bria made sure the planning went smoothly and there wasnt anything to worry about the day of as she had it all under control. I cant recommend Watson Block enough and all our guests commented on how beautiful it was.
Having our wedding at Watson Block was truly wonderful! The venue itself is gorgeous and has a cool, dope vibe that completely fit our event! Our guests just raved about it! Bria, the coordinator, was incredibly accommodating and worked with us through the whole planning process to get things exactly how we wanted them from the set-up to the last moments of the wedding, everything was just perfect. Bria is just lovely to work with! The catering options were great, our food was outstanding and the bar set-up at Watson Block is fantastic! Honestly, I cannot say enough good things about this place and all of our guests felt the same way!
Last weekend we had our daughters wedding at Watson Block and it was wonderful!!I have received so many compliments from wedding attendees about the uniqueness of the venue, the big windows, the cool bar, the chandeliers - it was everything we had hoped for.Plus working with Bria to plan the event was a breeze. She was great to work with, answered questions quickly, and made everything run smoothly on the day of the event. We cant thank the staff enough for making this day so special. I would recommend Watson Block to anyone.
This is a lovely event space. It is both warm and elegant. The finishes honor original materials while bringing in some elements with a New Orleans feel. Long, red draperies pair with crystal and metal and the original brick and floors are retained. The large windows allow a view of downtown. I love the security of the entrance. The space would be versatile for any mid-sized event whether corporate, networking, or family. Highly recommend.
We had our wedding here this past weekend. We worked with Bria and Sarah, and both were awesome and accommodating. Bria coordinated closely with our other vendors so we didnt need to sweat the details about delivery drop-offs and setups, and really helped everything go to plan. We had just over 70 guests, and held both the ceremony and a seated reception here, and there was more than enough space for us. The venue is beautiful and the perfect blend of old and new, rustic and elaborate; It can really be whatever you want it to be for your event.
This is such a stunning space! We LOVE working with such a wonderful venue and we know you will love to too! A perfect place for a perfect day. 🖤
I couldnt have been happier with our experience at Watson Block. Our wedding was spread out across two days, with a larger reception (attendance of 130 or so) on the second date at WB. We instantly fell in love with the aesthetic and received many compliments from our guests about the space and decor. The brick interior gives such a warm, home-style feel to such a big occasion, and it helped our guests settle in right away. The bar was very easy to coordinate and was quick to accommodate a couple of special requests we made.If theres anything we would have changed in retrospect, it would have been establishing some sort of off-site shuttle option. Luckily, our Sunday afternoon event was on a weekend where the Vikings were out of town and street parking was readily available. Still, this isnt any fault of the venues — just a logistical thing to consider for your day. We can confidently say we would have our event at Watson Block even if given a do-over.
A STUNNING new urban event space!! We had no trouble parking and appreciated the secure entrance with gracious staff. Original brick work and floors from this renovated Minneapolis cigar factory added warmth to the flexible open space. The on-trend bar area was inviting and paired well with the wall-to-wall windows. Highly recommend booking Watson Block for any social or professional gathering.
We just got married at Watson block and it was a dream come true . Everyone complemented us on what a beautiful venue it was and how amazing it was ! The staff was so helpful especially Bria ! She was awesome to work with, organized and she on top of her game . She listened to every detail and remembered it all. I was so impressed !!!! I would definitely recommend this venue time and time again
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Watson Block in September and could not have been happier with our decision! We toured a few places downtown and knew right away that Watson Block would be the best fit for us. Bria and all of the staff were so great to work with! The space itself is gorgeous with huge windows, exposed brick and a beautiful bar. No décor was needed aside from the floral arrangements from our florist. We had around 120 people and didnt feel cramped at all. We had a cocktail hour immediately following the ceremony while the seating was flipped and tables were set up. Our food was served station style and we used 4 tall bar tables, 8 large round tables and had a lounge seating area which was plenty of seating for people to eat, mingle and enjoy each others company. We would absolutely recommend Watson Block to anyone looking for a great wedding venue in Minneapolis!
What a great new venue! We toured it for a prospective business meeting and we all loved the decor and the location in Minneapolis. We are planning on holding all of our quarterly meetings at Watson Block.
Watson Block is an elegant and contemporary event space with a stunning view of downtown Minneapolis. From the original brick and timber, unique hamdmade bar, beautiful chandeliers and restored hardwood floors, this venue is perfect for an urban chic wedding or corporate event!!
Excellent venue space with impeccable decor and ambience. Will be back for many more events
