Very very disappointed! With the crime in Minneapolis more recently you would think that zest would take safety more seriously. On several occasions our building has been broken into.Any packages delivered to residents are just left in the lobby which is just an open invitation for theft. On another occasion management mentioned to us that the front door was forcefully opened with a crow bar and apartment keys were stolen from the office.Looking forward to getting out of Minneapolis and zest. Richfield has recently built a number of beautiful apartment buildings just 5 minutes away for similar price or less.I really wanted to love living here but my safety is more important.
This apartment building is not safe at all. I’ve lived here for 2 years, multiple times people have snuck into the “secure” garage. The second garage door (that leads to where residents park) was broken for over a year. Anyone could get in. One intruder was able to break into the office and steal keys to all of our units. Another intruder held a resident up at gun point. After expressing concern and trying to break my lease, I was told these aren’t valid reasons to break a lease. I no longer feel safe living there, the office and management does not care at all about your safety. Definitely do not live here!
We stayed at Zest for 6 months during our home renovation. We very much enjoyed our stay. The location is very convenient. The apartment complex was well kept, clean and with a modern, pleasant atmosphere in the lobby/commons area. The community was very nice. Our apartment had a very nice view of the Water Tower. We particularly appreciated the good communication with Jonathon, the property manager, who was especially helpful throughout the process of moving in and with whatever came up during our stay. Great place and great experience overall!
Awesome management, clean building and nice residents. We love living here
We loved living at Zest! Great location - walking distance to multiple restaurants, grocery stores, gas station, and Minihaha Creek. The second floor apartments facing the gas station have huge balconies (enough for an 8 person patio table and raised garden bed), the open concept layout makes entertaining easy, and we rarely heard our neighbors. Jonathon is an amazing manager and super helpful! The only reason we left was because we bought a house :)
Jonathan and the staff at Zest are the greatest guys !! They are ALWAYS super friendly and willing to help. I couldnt ask for better management and team. Plan on being here a loooong time!
Great location, wonderful residents and the building is just a few years old.
Ive lived in a lot of different places in various parts of the country, this has to be one of the best places Ive resided in. Moved in as soon as we could, and there were still some construction underway. I work primarily nights and the fact that I couldnt hear them hammering, drilling and doing whatever loud things construction workers do, I think speaks volumes for the noise control in this building. Which should give you peace of mind when you think, but its in between a gas station and a fire station. I havent had any issues with noise and we sleep with the window open at night! The neighborhood is simply delightful, every single store in the neighborhood is packed with warm smiles and great customer service, which is also what you get from Keith the property manager.Even if the neighborhood was meh, Id still find this to be the most enjoyable living experience, because its just that, an experience. All the finishes are current yet timeless, the pops of green through the building make everything feel fresh without being over done. The fitness room is more than adequate, we canceled our gym membership, the pet washing station is wonderful and great for our chihuahua and the parcel pick-up center right by the mailboxes is genius. My biggest pet peeve with our old place (besides its 1920s charm) was that the property manager was never in their office for me to get my packages. So to have a system that texts me when my package has arrived and is there secure for me to get at my convenience is a touch of luxury above anything Ive ever seen in an apartment building. The lobby is appointed elegantly and is a great place to entertain larger parties with its beautiful fire place, ample seating, large screen T.V. and thoughful lighting. And the pièce de résistance is the single serve machine, its a Flavia brewing machine and you can brew regular coffee (that trust me does NOT taste regular), hot chocolate, tea, cappuccino, lattes, mochas and more (They had tomato soups for a minute and those were YUMMY). I have a cup of something every single day and its that little touch, that wonderful convenience that really speaks volumes about Zest Apartments. The building is also located on the 18 bus line which is great for me as I work primarily downtown and have no car of my own, Im excited to bike when the weather permits. The 18 is great because it is super frequent and rather quick to get where I usually need to go. The underground climate controlled parking is wonderful and there are additional lockers you can rent out.Now the main reason we moved to this building was for one feature and Im so glad we did because we found so many more things we just love about Zest Apartments. We moved here because of the large Terraces on the second floor south facing apartments. These things space the entire width of your apartment and are about 10 feet out...A LOT OF OUTDOOR SPACE. You just dont get that usually in an apartment setting without it being community space. We are so excited to furnish it and host wonderful summer nights with our friends and family. Its a private Oasis and its just wonderful.Speaking of the Apartment, we are in a one-bedroom, is absolutely beautiful. The floors are a grayish color which I didnt think Id like but its so warm and beautiful to look at. Quartz countertops and light cabinets make the kitchen with a beautiful large island really open and bright. In-unit washer and dryer that are eco-friendly and good for the budget are a wonderful and convenient. There is AMPLE storage space in this unit and we absolutely love it.The community of tenants in the building is diverse and very respectful, we never hear our neighbors who live next to and above us and everyone is always polite and with friendly smiles. If we were to leave Zest Apartments it would be for one of two reasons, there is an exact replica downtown or we move out of state. That should tell you all you need to know about this Apartment building and the company that manages it!
Ridiculous prices, ugly and cheap design, contributes to gentrification.
