Rented with Copenhagen for 3 years; Nora and her staff respond and resolve issues quickly. Great communication & friendly. They do a good job of maintaining the buildings original features while keeping the apartments very cute & quaint. Going to miss the claw-foot tub! I lived in a Copenhagen studio apartment for 4 years and it was honestly great. Management was generally very hands off and I had very little interaction with them, but when I did all the staff were friendly and helpful. Maintenance was extremely responsive and easy to request through the app or online portal. The price of rent was very reasonable for being downtown/downtown adjacent. The building was older but well maintained and still quite charming. For the most part my neighbors were quiet and kept to themselves. I moved out because Im a little older and I wanted something bigger and further from downtown with more amenities (dishwasher/in-unit laundry). I loved my experience with Copenhagen and I loved my studio apartment. It was a great place to live for a twenty something working downtown.

Copenhagen staff was very easy to work with, and the building I was in was reasonably maintained. They have a super intuitive website that makes it very easy to pay rent and request for maintenance. Also the mail area and laundry rooms were always very clean. I would give my overall experience renting with them a 10/10 and would easily consider renting from them again in the future. - Brandon

The neighborhood I live in has some challenges, but the staff of my Copenhagen building is one of the best I have encountered in my 20 or so years as a renter. The maintenance staff is exceptionally responsive, kind, and most importantly, competent! They have gone out of their way to make repairs and improvements in response to submitting tickets through the app. Likewise, the office staff is friendly, responsive, and competent, and more than willing to provide you with a one on one assistance and guidance if needed.

I’ve lived at over a dozen rental properties over the course of my life and Copenhagen is by far the best at responding to maintenance issues. Requesting maintenance is easy using the app, and the repairs are always completed in a timely manner. The staff is always friendly and professional, and the rent is reasonable, and the locations are convenient. Copenhagen Enterprises is a reliable choice that will meet or exceed your expectations.

I lived there for a year and for that time everything went super smooth from viewing the place to moving out. Anytime I needed maintenance they responded quickly and were fast and efficient and very friendly. The place had a ton of character and I really enjoyed it as my first apartment. One thing about Copenhagen I really appreciate is all the staff were super nice and down to earth, even though they have multiple buildings and are a decently sized company it doesn’t feel like your dealing with a big cooperation. Overall I really enjoyed renting from them. Last thing... they do have a breed restriction when it comes to dogs, I have a German Shepard and this is one of the Only places I found that would allow me to have her!

I’ve rented from a loooot of different types of landlords in various places over the years. Copenhagen is the best experience I’ve ever had with a smaller/local corporate property company. I needed to move to my own place ASAP; Copenhagen was one of the few affordable companies that allowed dogs and had properties in locations that were convenient/walkable.When I put in an application, they let me know that there was someone else who was deciding on the apartment and I was in line behind them. The studio I rented was recently updated and adorable! I loved that there was no carpet. Nora and the man in the office were always very professional and helpful. I used to work for a real estate broker and Nora is on top of her game! The only negative thing that happened to me was that the laundry machines sometimes double or triple charged me and they didn’t notify us of some laundry room renovations until after they started, but after that they were more communicative about it (I had to wash my work clothes often). The over-charging was on the laundry machine company and I got refunded, so that all worked out. Copenhagen was never sleazy and never charged a bunch of ridiculous fees. They’re a straightforward, affordable rental company. I’ve experienced my fair share of landlords doing sketchy things and nickel and diming me, and they’re basically the opposite of that. They were very helpful to tenants during COVID and let me out of my lease early when I decided to move in with my partner. I got all of my deposit back, even though I was worried it wasn’t my best move-out clean (I was sick and on antibiotics that week of course). I only rented from them for 7 months, but I wouldn’t hesitate to rent from them again.

I enjoyed renting from Copenhagen- they were easy to work with and maintenance was always very prompt. Maintenance always wore masks and usually sent a txt message heads up when they were coming which I really appreciated. The building we were in was old, but the apartment had awesome character. Only downside for us personally was not having a dishwasher in our particular unit- we decided to move into a spot that had a good move-in promotion price and in-unit laundry and a dishwasher from a different company. Copenhagen did lower the price of our unit when we moved out - so they do keep with the market rates and the value is great now even if it wasn’t a great deal for us at the time of our move out. Overall I wouldn’t hesitate to rent from them again- they are very reasonable, responsive, and friendly especially compared to some other big rental companies in the area.

I have been a tenant in one of their buildings for the last 5 years. I’m currently in my fourth apartment rented through them. I have zero complaints about any of the units I have lived in. The apartments are not new and shiny like many being built around them, but they are still well-maintained and nice-looking and fairly affordable for the neighborhood. Maintenance is extremely responsive and works with tenants to get things fixed in the tenant’s schedule. The office staff are also very courteous and helpful. I definitely would recommend them to folks looking for nice apartments close to downtown.

The Management at Copenhagen were very responsive and concerned about my needs when they came up. I always received a quick reply and immediate attention. They took responsibility for maintenance costs that were out of my control, I know some other apartments charges their residents for stuff like their stove not working ect. ( even if it stopped working having nothing to do with the resident ) so Kuddos to Copenhagen for providing those services to its residents!Nora has always been considerate about my housing situation and worked on providing solutions for my rooming needs. I had a roommate that was moving out last minute and I was not prepared to pay the full rent that that apartment costed and Nora suggested that I could move to a Studio apartment close by instead which would ultimately fit my rental needs.I really like the classiness of my current apartment. It has a high ceiling and old ornament wood cabinet vibes which makes me feel cozy and safe. For Hennepin County Minneapolis, I think this is the most quality apartments you are going to find in the area.

My partner and I were originally solely offered a month to month lease by Copenhagen on the basis of income restrictions. I pushed back against this, saying it felt discriminatory.I regret doing so, as I dont think we received fair treatment from that point on. I should have accepted that it wasnt a good fit. I have learned my lesson not to ask for fair treatment when I feel I am being treated unfairly, it is better to move on and find someone who can be respectful in the Business relationship of landlord/tenant.The building is poorly maintained--aside from regular vacuuming in the hallways, the main entrance and laundry room did not receive discernable attention from maintenance or caretakers. The hallway walls are filthy and scuffed, and there is poorly covered graffiti on the fire doors. If there was an on-site Caretaker over the duration of my lease, I would be very surprised.I do not believe the property manager is consistently treating all tenants the same... including parking permit pricing and methods of notifying tenants of showings and related cancellations. We waited on the parking permit list for months and then were quoted 150% of what other tenants were paying for parking. The unit directly below ours sat vacant for Months and was offered at a lower monthly rate for new tenants only. I have a disability and would have benefited from a second floor unit, instead of third floor. We viewed the unit after asking about it, and considered applying for a transfer, but there was no accommodation offered to extend the move-in period beyond 2-3 days--even though the unit sat empty for seemingly the entirety of our lease. After Nora never showed up to the building for showings we were told would happen, I asked to be told when showings of our unit would be cancelled. My chronic illness requires that I rest often, and i informed my use of the bed and bathroom in the unit according to the scheduled showings communicated to me. I shared this with Nora, and asked for some professional courtesy to communicate changes in scheduling. After this, I got relentless text messages and redundant emails regarding showings and scheduling. I can share screenshots by email, if anyone even cares.I put in notice 90 days ahead that we would move out at the end of May. The apartment was leased to a prospective tenant in April. Once it was taken off the market, Nora texted me three separate times to ask if we would be vacating the unit before the agreed upon time included in our lease documents AND provided notice. My partner responded to tell Nora we would be out on May 31st, and she texted us both at 7am that morning to say she was coming 3 hours early to get the keys from us. She regularly switched numbers that were used to contact me, as well. This was a horrid experience from start to finish and I am glad to be rid of that unit and this business relationship.I would never recommend this property management company, my friends are all too gay and disabled to receive equal treatment from management. All the straight women and couples who have been long term tenants in the building seem to love Nora, maybe she doesnt particularly like gay men or she figured out that I am trans? I dont know. We shared a one bedroom and yet she called us roommates, which is a microaggression that can easily be avoided by simply calling both tenants: Tenants.

Ive lived in a Copenhagen apartment for the last year (on Stevens Ave). I feel Ive gotten excellent value. If youre looking for a fully renovated place I dont think any of their properties quite fit that description - but youll likely be paying 300-400 more per month; in my case Im paying 800 per month for a comparatively spacious studio. The management has a personal touch and is very understanding when it comes to personal circumstances - e.g., they let me give and rescind notice a couple of times based on changing life circumstances. The responsiveness re maintenance requests is fantastic - the main maintenance guy, Joe, always comes next day when I make a request and is very professional about doing the job in a quick, efficient, and friendly manner. All in all, Im thankful to the company for providing a solid, affordable apartment in a dense and transit-friendly part of town. -GY

I have rented several units from Copenhagen for over a decade because these folks have always treated me like family. Some people give negative reviews because, quite frankly, theyre stuck up and naive about what living in a historic, classic brownstone in the city, close to DT is like. Anyone complaining about amenities or the building themselves - well, they literally got to see the building before they moved in and agreed to everything, so keep that in mind. The office and maintenance staff are STELLAR. Most of the time, my maintenance requests were completed the same day! Everyone at Copenhagen is professional, KIND, extremely accommodating - they have even been there for me when I have had difficulties paying my rent. Its one of the only rentals in Minneapolis that allow dogs without weight restriction. I got my deposit back only 6 days after moving out, 100% plus interest. The bad: My building only had street parking. Contract parking nearby is super expensive. No AC but the electric bill was still $50+ per month which seemed excessive. The pipes are very loud, but thats also because the building is more than a hundred years old. The paint job was pretty shabby, mesh and plater patches were obvious, it chipped, lots of dust and ocassionally mice. I was paying $850 a month it would have increased to $900 had I stayed. The location is great, I felt safe. Eat street is right there. My neighbors were cool.

Copenhagen Enterprises has the best, most responsive staff I have experienced as a renter. Not long after moving in, I noticed the bathtub spout was a little loose, sent a quick email in the evening, and it was repaired the very next day. Recently, there was a 100 degree day in the forecast and I emailed the team (after hours) asking if it was even possible for someone to install a window air conditioning unit in the next few days. They called me the next morning to coordinate and said they could make the install once I purchased the unit and brought it home. We even chatted about which unit would be best suited for the space while I was at the store! I placed the ac box under the window, went to work, and it was installed by the time I got home! I certainly understand Im not their only tenant and I cant even tell you HOW MUCH I APPRECIATE that experience alone. My request was very last minute.I feel like this team actually cares about their tenants! They have a service where you can text the team with questions or concerns and are incredibly responsive. On the off chance there is an issue in the building, they keep you informed by text or email and move quickly to solve the problem.I absolutely love my little dog-friendly apartment with hardwood floors, stainless appliances, gas stove, built-in storage, wooden blinds, and fantastic closet space. I currently dont take advantage of the additional storage in the building but mini-units are available at a reasonable price. Ive never had to wait to wash my clothes as there are three spacious washers and three dryers available. The building is older and has that character and charm I was searching for. They just refreshed the paint in the stairwells and hallways. The other tenants in the building are great but I understand thats just a lucky situation. Someone even offered to help nurse my little house plant back to health as I do NOT have a green thumb. Nose level is minimal despite hardwood floors above my apartment. Its a busy and fun neighborhood near a grocery co-op, restaurants, cafes, located about a mile from Lake Calhoun/Bde Maka Ska.If this company has a vacancy that is right for your needs, I would certainly encourage you to consider renting from them. Although I havent been at my current apartment for very long but I have had a wonderful experience thus far! The customer service and reliability of Copenhagen Enterprises are top notch.

I lived in 22 Oak Grove for just about 4 years. Ive seen just about all there is to see. I waited to write a review until I got my security deposit so I could fully evaluate the experience, since many people complained about this. Ill review the company, then the apartments.COPENHAGENCopenhagen was pretty hands off. I mean that in a good way. I made several requests for maintenance, which they were very fast about, but other than that they let me mind my own business. The only complaints I have are about apartment showings. They notify you of a pretty large window that theyll be in to show your apartment (the office hours), which sucks if youre home that day and trying to stay out of their business. On this note, there was a time when they tried to show my apartment 10 minutes outside the window which pissed me off. It may not sound like much, but they had 7 hours to show it (10-5) and I made sure to be out the entire time. The only other frustration I had was trying to protest a charge. At one point they double charged me pet rents, and it took me about 30 minutes to work it out with the office staff. It should have been a 5 minute conversation at most.Overall I was very happy with Copenhagen as a management company.22 OAK GROVEI lived on the 94 side of 22 Oak Grove and let me tell you, it was loud as hell. You think the highway noise will be background until a truck with a jake brake come tearing through, or theres a rear end accident. Trying to watch a movie? Crank it.The building was older, but not bad. The only downside was a poorly maintained laundry room. I dont know what was difficult about maintaining the dryers, but both Copenhagen and later BCS couldnt seem to get the dryer exhaust attached for the long run.One of the problems with 22 Oak Grove isnt management, its the residents. For example, management puts a recycle bin near the mail so that you can immediately recycle what you dont want. Most people, instead of placing it in the bin, throw it at the bin and if it hits the floor who cares. Quite often youll find junk mail laying around the floor because people cant hit the bin. This has lead to more than one passive-aggressive note posted near the mailboxes towards management. Management wasnt the problem here, it was the residents.Lastly, the package drop off with the office was really convenient.COMMON COMPLAINTS IVE SEEN1. They dick you on the security deposit. I didnt have this experience. I retained ~88% of my security deposit, which I feel is more than acceptable. I had two pets for most of my time there, too. When I moved out I made sure to clean. Perhaps people are skipping this step?2. The apartments are overpriced. Eh. Was my apartment worth $770? I paid it, so I guess so. Does it seem high? Yeah. But if people pay it...

Lived here for about 4 years. Moved out around end of 2012. Minor issues with mold in bathroom and heat in the apartment the first year it was really cold. They fixed it and it was fine there on out. Overall its OK its more about the location than the apartment. I had a corner unit so I had a great view of the skyline. (1536 building) Never had any issues with bugs or pests. Dog friendly apartments for 10 dollars extra so thats a bonus. Maintenance is 50/50 one guys does an outstanding job and the other is nothing but lazy and slacks, the fact they still continue to pay him shows they dont pay good enough attention IMO.I lived with another college student so we split the rent which saved me a lot of money so it was affordable and better than dorm housing by far! There are no amenities beyond location. I recently moved back into the area (different management company) and ended up moving back 1 block over in a cheaper and better location (closer to the park and greenway) I would have considered moving back here if the price was right as its decent enough as Im still a full time student so I need something affordable. I wouldnt directly recommend this place as they overpriced there studio apartments by about $50-80 a month. Also they will BS ya on the deposit I was charged hundreds of dollars for repainting the walls in which after living there for 4 years normal wear and tear is expected. there was no holes larger than 1/4th inch as there was a few holes from screws. Also was charged over 100 bucks for cleaning a very old gas stove! The value of the stove was less than that. Which explains all the other negative reviews cause they also got cheated out on there deposit unfairly so.If you rent here figure in the cost of the deposit into the monthly rent (plus expect a sharp rental increase of 20-30) a month increase for the next year lease you sign AND if you prefer going month to month after your 1st year expect another 45ish on top of that 20-30 monthly rent increase... on a positive note.. at least Washing and Drying are 100% FREE! haha..
