My wife and I lived at a Christy Living unit in Prior Lake. Christy Living wound up managing our unit after our old landlord sold it during the pandemic. Unfortunately my wife and I both got laid off due to Covid and we wound up being late on a month of rent while I transferred funds from an investment account. Following that late payment they began passive aggressively attempting to persuade us not to renew our lease, asking multiple times when we were going to put in our notice to vacate making us feel unwelcome in our own residence. These inquiries only stopped once we paid the remaining 6 months of our lease in full.Additionally when they do maintenance on the unit Christy Living typically schedules multiple appointments (Typically 3) over multiple days in order to price things out. We have also had instances of workers showing up without prior notice as long as they didnt need enter the unit. We even had one gentleman show up after dark on a Saturday night to work on our gutters.Finally, Christ Living shows your unit during occupancy. This leads to you having to either be home from work, or to trust that the relator is able to keep watch of your valuables during the tour. Neither option were comfortable for us, especially mid pandemic, but we didnt get a say in things. Good luck.

Professional communication and responsive landlord. I appreciate that I have access to quick communication with the landlord and great maintenance crew. Since I moved in, my landlord has been very open to my requests and supportive of concerns. The building I live in is kind of an older unit and the kitchen floor was in need of an update at the time of move in but regardless I love the space. The price is reasonable for the location and amenities, private patio, backyard and garden, off street parking which was worked into my lease by agent. The laundry is reasonably priced. I also had a great experience with the leasing agent and they were very flexible with getting me into a unit that best suited my wants and needs.

Ive rented with Janene the past year and have had a good experience. Unfortunately the property owner is looking to sell so Ill be moving, but Id definitely want to extend my lease if that werent the case. Any maintenance issues Ive had have been handled in a timely and professional manner; Janene and staff have always been pleasant and professional. In the midst of this pandemic shes worked with me, no hassle, no extra stress. Hoping the next management company will be as great to work with.

Reasonably priced for a great location with a big yard. They have built a new deck and put in a new dryer while we were living here. It can be difficult to know who to communicate to in management, but besides that, a nice company to rent from.

Honestly, a great location, nice that you can pay online, very unique interiors and you got 1 parking spot with the cost of Rent. HOWEVER, my apartment had broken tiles, damaged walls and ceilings that were noted when we moved in. Once we moved we got dinged for damage to our apartment that was there BEFORE we moved in and was not given our full deposit back ( we have photos of the day we moved in). We asked for tile to replaced and they did nothing. I even wrote to them that I was worried I would cut my foot and nothing happened. I and another tenant wrote to them about a RABID BAT issue and was told the bat would fly away. NO this is not true that a rabit bat would just fly away. I even call the city of Minneapolis to the let me know about the rabbit bat issue. They did more than my landlord at the time. My neighbor was swooped by a bat walking into her apartment, and had one nesting in her apartment when they moved in. After a while we stop submitting requests. The apartment was cute but so uncool that repair request went untented, COVID was never address (like if you lost your job and needed to hold on your rent), laundry was broken. I am not sure if all the locations are the same but for what we were paying in UPTOWN we have now moved to St. Paul for the same cost of rent plus now we have a in unit laundry, hard wood floors and land lord that responds to requests. If you’re going to pay a crazy amount for rent find a place your happy with.

We are entering our third year working with Christy Living and are so impressed. Janene is prompt, efficient and best of all straight forward with us and with our tenants. She and her company make all the difference! I recommend them without a nanosecond of hesitation!

We needed a 3-month furnished rental while our home was being remodeled. Christy Living had several choices in convenient neighborhoods. We spent a really fun summer in the Linden Hills area near Lake Harriet with great shopping and restaurants within walking distance. The unit we chose was clean and comfortable, and had everything we needed (kitchen supplies, cleaning materials, sheets & towels, etc.). Janene was always available and answered all of our questions promptly. The online payment system was easy to use. The flexible move-out date and pro-rated monthly charge was a godsend to us, since our remodeling project wasnt finished exactly on time and we needed to stay in the rental for about 10 days longer than initially planned. There was a very affordable option to have the unit professionally cleaned when we moved out, and we happily signed on for that. I highly recommend Christy Living for a short- or long-term rental!

My unit went from being managed by the owner to ChristyLiving and I did not feel like it added anything to my experience. Living in a condo building it added an additional step to the communication chain when an issue needed to go through the condo association.The handy man that works with ChristyLiving was extremely unprofessional (hours late, unfriendly, hard to communicate with, did not come prepared with tools needed- actually needing to use my tools/clean up supplies), when concerns were expressed management told me that this guy was affordable so would be continued to be used. Terms of my lease changed and rent was raised without the agreed upon improvements taking place.All in all it was more difficult to go through this local management company than it was the owner of my unit who lived abroad. I understand that this change was not for my benefit, but for the owner of my unit- which makes sense.

Poor customer service. The man working maintenance is very rude in person and on the phone. Not responsive to emails unless they need something from you. I misplaced a key and had no problem paying for one. It took them a month and a half to finally get it to me after many phone calls, emails and text messages.

We were in a pinch to find short term housing for an employee relocating to Minneapolis and Christy Living came through for us. Its so refreshing to cut through all the clutter and get away from the big corporate housing companies. Christy makes it simple and seamless along with a personal touch you dont often get. I somewhat reluctantly came into the landlord business when I couldnt sell my house almost two years ago. Janene and her property management business, Christy Living, were recommended by my realtor. I made sure to ask for references and they were all glowing ( I remember being just a little skeptical about that). But now, two years later I completely concur. Janene manages many properties but she cheerfully juggles an amazing number of details, so that you feel as though you are her only client. She has great, reasonably priced resources - cleaners, a handyman and house repair contacts, and she deals with any issues that come up so you dont have to. She seems to always be there at the other end of a text or call if a question needs answering (does she ever take a vacation or get sick? Not that I know of) Any difficulties that come up are dealt with effectively and with a big dose of humor. I am happy to recommend her services without reservations.

I stayed in one of Christys Livings furnished condos while there on my travel assignment. When I arrived, the place was very clean and up to date. I never had a problem getting a hold of Janene to either ask a question or get a problem solved. If I ever get a travel assignment in Minneapolis again, I will be contacting Christys Living in a heartbeat for my housing.

First - I would not recommend leasing out property without a property manager. You need a third party for certian situations... Damage to property, evictions, etc.Second - I only use ChristyLiving for my properties. Great tenants, quick turn around(virtually no gapps between renters), quick follow up, and the best handyman/plumber/electrician contacts around!

The apartment was extremely nice and comfortable, very well furnished and with everything one needs to just move in and live like at home.Another good feature of Christy Living is the flexibility of the contract terms, which allow an easy departure without a very long notice period, which can be a nuisance in todays mutable work environment.
