I have watched my husband train with Bruno since 2015. In the 5 1/2 years Dusty has won 3 World Championships, Pan Am champion, and a bronze at Worlds. I recently began to train, and I have trained in the womens program predominantly but I will go to a fundamentals class on occasion. Have learned alot from both. All of the coaches are skilled competitors and champions, and they take the time needed to ensure those who train understand the Hows, the what ifs, and the whys in jiu jitsu.

This is the best investment i have ever done for my two boys. They started training in November of 2015. From when they started up until now the change in these kids has been an awesome experience to see. Within that first year we saw tremendous results. We have also made some friends along the way who we now considser more like our second family. I recommend this place for anyone kids or adults 110%. Amazing and clean facilities! It’s a great feeling to get to learn from friendly coaches who are all also World Champions in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The atmosphere is also very friendly. I joined, not only to learn BJJ, but also lose weight. I was worried that my age(mid 40s)weight, and current fitness level would make it too difficult if I didn’t get into better shape before joining. All the coaches convinced me that nothing will prepare me for Jiu-Jitsu better than Jiu-Jitsu, and they were 100% correct. I am glad I took the plunge. My weight has been dropping and my fitness level has gone way up. It’s also an amazing stress reliever as well. If you are on the fence, give the free trial a shot. You will be hooked in no time.

Friendliest people ive seen in a long time. I honestly love the whole environment and how they told me when youre more determined you can compete gave me a morale boost to wanna make those type of people proud. We started our son with Bruno Bastos and Petya Bastos because he was being bullied in school and he didn’t know how to defend himself. My husband researched and found Bruno. Signed up my son when he was 5 and has been training with Coaches Bruno and Petya for over a year. He LOVES it! He loves the coaches, the learning environment and camaraderie with the other students. I have seen him grown stronger and more confident in his abilities to protect himself. As a parent I love the teaching environment and that you are expected to practice hard to earn your stripes and belts. At his first competition he was so proud of himself for earning a medal. I was proud that he stepped outside of his comfort zone and tried. My path to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu began when I signed my two kids up for class with Professor Bruno and Sensei Petya. I had always been curious of Jiu Jitsu but I had no real intention in training at all. Over the course of a year I watched my kids train 4-6 times a week and became really fascinated by it. I saw both my kids compete in tournaments. I was so proud to see them compete but it was not something I wanted to do.Bruno and Petya are amazing instructors to my kids and now to me. What started as stress release and social interaction quickly became a passion. I saw men and women in class training and preparing for tournaments all over the world. I would get online and cheer for my new friends as they competed.As I saw my now new friends compete I had to give it a try but I was still apprehensive. After some encouragement from them I gave it a try. I have had many ups and downs along the way but my teammates and coaches have been a constant source of support and encouragement.

I live in DFW and was visiting Midland for the weekend for an event, so I was looking for a place to train. Most of the adult regulars were down in San Antonio for NoGi Worlds, but nevertheless I was warmly welcomed by the owners wife (a black belt). The gym itself is beautiful. 2 large mats, and a workout area. She was there at 5:30am and gave me a schedule since attendance was going to be light due to the tournament. The class she taught (adult intermediate) was excellent. She taught knee-drop seoi-nage into a mount transition with finish. Class started with a thorough warm up, well explained technique breakdown, followed by purposeful drilling. Theres an air of professionalism here that is not common. If youre just looking for some rolls, this may not be the place for you, but if youre interested in learning solid technique (including standing/judo), give them a visit! Thanks again for having me. I have 4 kids (9, 7, 5, 3 yrs old) my 7 year old has been training with coach Bruno and Coach Petya for two years and from day one she told me that she loves her coaches. My 9 and 5 started a year ago and I can say that BJJ and coaches have helped my 9 year old with his confidence tremendously. My 5 year old is a handful at home but on the mats is an angel because he knows their discipline is not one to play with. I started jiu-jitsu because I was unhappy with my life, so I thought to myself: what can I do to improve my life as it is?
