I just had my haircut with Kelsey, and she did a fantastic job! She took her time to make sure every hair was perfect, above and beyond anything at hair salons from DC to San Diego. She curled my hair so that I would look fantastic at dinner tonight. She gave me hints to help me easily maintain my look and didn’t press products that I didn’t need. It was hands down the best experience in a salon I have had. And she is friendly and pleasant to talk to. I booked her on a whim, but I will certainly be returning to her.

Salon is clean and the staff is so pleasant and friendly, hospitable and welcoming owner April knows me by name as do the other staff members. I was traveling in for a wedding and needed a place to do my hair. I ended up choosing Lockstar because of their rates and proximity to where I was staying. I was very happy with their customer service from start to finish and achieving a very difficult look I was going for! The only criticism is that my stylist Kate (ah-mazing) started 30 minutes late which really set me behind. If ever in Newport, Ill go back to them!

Love Lockstar! I have been going to salons all over Boston for the past 10 years and all it took was a trip home to Newport to find the perfect one. I am a blonde and do tape ins!! Which is hard to keep up with and April is the best! The staff is always welcoming and salon is tip top. Highly recommend.

They did a lovely job kn my hair! However the makeup lady really was rather sneaky adding all these extras in without letting me know to only be charged later for it. Honestly I could have bought everything she used for less than she charged :(

Love this salon. Audrey is my stylist and she always does an amazing job on my hair, my nails and my lashes!!! She has the best consultation and never disappoints. If you want a stylist, lash artist, and manicurist that is a perfectionist and takes pride in her craft, Audrey is your girl!

Audrey is a fantastic stylist. She is meticulous and wants to make sure her clients receive the highest level of satisfaction. She is well trained and up to date on modern techniques. She is also just a very sweet individual and hanging out with her while she does my hair is fun and enjoyable.

This place was AWFUL. I cannot understand the positive reviews.I called to make an appointment for blowouts/styles for 3 and the woman I spoke with on the phone was super nice and so accommodating (thank you to whoever that was), but everything else about the experience was horrible.First, they started us at least 30 minutes late, which wasnt the end of the world, but by the time the last one of us was supposed to start it was over 45 minutes behind schedule and we had a wedding to go to. The owner was annoyed when I asked if someone else could please get started on at least drying my hair in the meantime and was super rude about it. My curling stylist wasnt friendly either.I was quoted $65 on the phone per girl but the end price was $105 for one of my friends and $80 for another.I was at least happy with how my hair looked, until I made the (literally) 5 minute walk back to my air bnb to find it had COMPLETELY fallen out. In 5 minutes! I would have been fine with the bad service if the end results were great, but they couldnt even manage to do a good job on the thing they get paid for.I would NEVER go back here or recommend it to anyone. Give someone else your time and money, please.

I had to get a haircut the day of my friends wedding and I went in and Kate fixed me up right. Felt pretty weird being the only guy in there, but she was super nice and friendly. It was basically like I was back home at my normal barber shop. would recommend 10/10 times.

April is a very talented hair stylist who can handle mens cuts as well as womens. The place is booming with business seems like Middletown /Newport Beach area has found its trendy new spot for hair /makeup. If youre staying in town for a special event you have to go there they know what theyre doing.

This is a great salon! Everyone is very helpful and you can see that they enjoy their workplace which puts the customer at east. All the hairdressers are very good with a steady cliental. I have been going to April Conley for over a year - she always listens to what youre saying. You wont be disappointed by this hair salon.

I brought my 13 year old niece in for hair color (pink!) and with Aprils help, decided on a tasteful section on the underside of her hair to dye. The haircut is gorgeous too!

I have been going to Lockstar for the past year and seeing April each visit. She keeps her salon in great order and is very flexible with scheduling appointments. April uses Redken products, and offers tips and ideas if you are unsure of what products to use or looking to try something different.My first impression of the place was that it had an edgy and young atmosphere. I was happy with my first hair cut, and made a nice connection with April, which was a driving force behind my subsequent returns to the salon.I have been timid and conservative with my hair and hair cuts due to past experiences with other salons. April does a great job with my hair. I come in for regular trimmings, and my hair is very healthy and my face is nicely framed each time. Recently, I mustered the courage to dye my hair. After explaining what color I wanted with April, she created a beautiful hue for my hair. Since I was so reluctant to dye my hair before (I havent in about 2-3 years), we are planning on trying an ombré effect for my next appointment.I would recommend Lockstar salon to any of my friends, not only because of the great service, but I find that Aprils prices are extremely reasonable (if not a steal) to the high quality of work being done.I have yet to try any other services offered here, but will be open to trying the spray tanning that is now available.
