Stop. Amstel is not a Barber shop. A real barber will listen and understand the customer and cut the hair accordingly. The butchers here only provide one hair chop, AKA the squirrel cut regardless of what you desire . A real barber will use scissors to perform a haircut and not just a buzzer. Anyone can buzz cut hair with ten minutes of training. Also the prices are shameful. I observed a young Dad pay 48 bucks for himself and 2 young boys. If youre okay with this style cut, buy an inexpensive buzzer from Walmart and do it yourself for the same result.

I brought my handsome 11 year old son in for a fade, to the Middletown location. Unbelievably, he left there even more handsome! John did an EXCELLENT job on his hair. We are both very happy! Nice clean shop, we didn’t have to wait and John and the other barber working were very nice. This is our new place!

The staff was nice, but I told the guy what to do with my sons hair and he failed. I told him to only trim the top hair and he just kept cutting and cutting almost like he messed up and had to correct it over and over again. My son is so upset. Well never go here again. And no this is not the first time Ive been. Ive taken my son here in two other occasions with a different barber and was not impressed. I figured since it had been awhile that maybe they got more experienced. Im sure theyre great for the regular buzz cuts, just not for longer length hair.

Not horrible, but not good either. Been there about 6 times. Seems like every time I go, someone different is working. Ive had some decent hair cuts and some horrible ones, where my hair is visibly asymmetrical even after corrections. Whats consistent is how little time they spend on my hair - usually about 15 minutes, even after I ask them to make corrections. Not worth $20 + tip for anyone with short hair.

I used to go to other barbershops my whole time living in Delaware, but I always felt like they couldve done a better job. Then I tried Amstel, and I loved it. I went for the first time with my brother, and Ive been going back ever since. Already told lots of my buddies about this place, and theyve loved their cuts too. This place is a real BARBERSHOP ... No spas, no massages. Just a great place to go get a fresh cut from some cool dudes for a great price. The atmosphere is great, and theres virtually no wait (unless theyre busier than usual). Each barber is very talented at cutting hair, so theres never really a need to ask for a certain barber imo. Theyre very careful meticulous, and they will make sure that they give you exactly what you asked for. I feel like you never have to worry about not having a hairstyle come out they way you thought it would when you go here; they really do an awesome job. They manage to do a great job pretty quickly, too! Its like youre in and out of there in no more than half an hour if youre there for just an average clean up. Amstel is really one of those places where you truly feel that you got every pennys worth of what you paid for. Definitely recommend it.

Came in for a fade cut and a beard cleanup and they hooked me up fast and accurately and even made sure I didnt leave without it being both to our liking. I think Ive found a new regular barber!

Took my sons to get a cut on a Saturday afternoon. No long wait or that dreaded barbers friend priority that other shops seem to have, that will leave you waiting an hour or more. First come first served seemed to be well observed. Very nice atmosphere and professional barbers. Got two great looking cuts in about 45 mins. Will be back.

Have you ever wanted to wake up and just ooze sexiness? You have? Of course you have.The problem is, you cant do that unless you come here. You cant even come close. You might drip a little...but you aint gonna ooze it unless you get in one of the chairs here like cold beer gets in your belly.Youll walk in a normal slob like the rest of the world, but youll walk out like the damn king you were born to be. Again...just oozing that sexiness everywhere. Youll see people just start slipping when they walk behind you...but you wont give a damn.You just left Amstel. You dont need to give a damn.

This is the place to go. Ive only been in Delaware for a couple of weeks now and gotten my haircut twice. The first place I went to was less than ideal. Then I found Amstel. I wont go anywhere else while Im here. The atmosphere is chill AF and the barbers are cool AF. Hell by the time I left I was thinking, Man these dudes are the type of dudes that you can crack open a beer and chill with. Dope AF.Google you better post this review since I didnt spell out what AF stands for this time.

Every time I go here there is a short wait they keep a conversation. They show concern and care theyll also go out of there way to do little extras no other barbers would. Would highly recommend this place even if its a little out of your way.
