Barns were in great condition, but the food and the staff were the best party. Such a smooth operation to the point where I completely forgot about that it was a wedding we put on. We didnt have to worry about a thing. Food was spectacular! The staff were so accommodating. I would recommend the Barns to anyone looking to get married or just have one killer party.

Amazing wedding venue! This was my first time going to a wedding here, it was beautiful! The staff is incredible with adapting to changes in the schedule. Shout out to Kelly, Annie, and the ladies behind the bar, the whole staff rocked it! The food was the BEST wedding food I ever had. Every dish was absolutely delicious. Great job to all!

This place was wonderful, wonderful. Nice atmosphere, grounds. The food excellent. Its nice that it only has one event going on at one time. Beautiful. One thing though I wouldnt have the staff take the dishes of food and drinks off the table until the end. Very annoying. But the staff was great.

We couldnt have asked for a better wedding day or experience with Connecticut Wedding Group, or a better location than The Barns at Wesleyan Hills. The Barn was beautiful, the food was amazing and the staff went above and beyond. Our guests are still telling us a month after our wedding how amazing it was. Mary-Beth was beyond helpful during the whole planning process and always available to answer any questions we had and Cate was a literal angel on our wedding day doing everything to make our day perfect!

Beautiful wedding venue and perfect layout for ceremony on the lawn, reception in the open area and cocktails/appetizers in the bar area. Wasnt crowded and employees were friendly. Everything was great!

Wow, great to see dedicated staff, so many of them. Well organized with a great layout, nice facility. My only negative is the dance floor blocked easy access to the restrooms.

My wife and I got married here in Dec 2019 and it was absolutely perfect. I don’t write reviews and wouldn’t write a review if I didn’t truly feel like The Barns and all of their staff deserved the biggest thank you from us for helping to make our wedding unforgettable. The head honcho Michelle was a so awesome and was at our wedding the day of to make sure everything went smoothly, she’s a true leader. Lindsay our coordinator was so helpful and kept checking in with us to make sure we were taken care of. She was professional and made us feel comfortable despite being nervous and she also kept bringing us drinks without even asking! The best. Food was like a five star restaurant. Dancing was electric all night, can’t say enough about this place. Thanks so much!

They have the best customer service and go above and beyond to make sure that your wedding day is perfect. The whole staff cares so much about you and want to make sure everything is perfect and exactly how you want it. All the staff members are also on the same page and know exactly what to do and what is going on. The food is the best wedding food you will have. My guests are still complimenting the food and how great it was.The atmosphere at The Barns is wonderful. The beautiful original milking barn is a comfortable setting but also elegant at the same time. I cant say enough great things about The Barns and the entire staff there. I highly recommend them.

Our daughters wedding could not have been better in any way! It was so amazing! All of our guests would like to re-live this experience. The venue is breathtaking, the food was the absolute best, and the service was superb. Cate, our wedding planner, was always there to make everything seamless for all of us. I have only positive things to say about the Barns and I highly recommend the confetti cannons!!!!!!

My Wife and I had our wedding reception here last Saturday and all I can say is WOW! We had the most beautiful time. The Grounds are beautiful the wait staff is amazing and the food and drinks were some of the best I have ever had at a wedding (may be slightly bias lol). Everything was perfect but the real highlight and reason why our wedding day was truly amazing was because of our wedding coordinator Lindsay, and let me just say that if it was not for her then our wedding would not have been what it was!We met Lindsay at our first taste testing and my wife and I instantly feel in love with her. Her sense of humor and attentiveness was what really blew us away. We knew that this was not just a job for her, she truly loves doing it. The day of our wedding she made sure that everything went off without an issue! She was always attending to the bridal party asking if we needed anything or if we need food/drink. She made sure everyone was getting everything they needed and that the night was everything it was supposed to be. She truly made our day unbelievably special and we will always remember that about her and the barns! I will say one final thing, I was always told that you get what you pay for. And I can assure you that if you hold your reception at the barns and if you are as lucky as we were to get Lindsay on your special day then you will get more than what you paid for!

The Barnes at Wesleyan hill is a beautiful wedding venue. Outside gardens are gorgeous and inside barn is rustic and elegant. We had picked the place for our daughter’s wedding 18 months in advance and were planning 200 guests. Unfortunately venue did work out for us. We attended a wedding at Barnes in summer, which had guest count of 150-180 range and realized that there is no way we can have 200 guests seating there. Even with 180 count tables were crowded and guests had to stand up for servers to reach everyone. I am writing this review for someone planning a wedding for larger guest count to think properly before making decision. The place is good for 150 max, if you like everyone to see the dance floor and place to easily move around. Even though they say they can seat up to 225 guests, it’s long stretch and that means every bit of floor space is taken by tables and chairs. No place for anyone to move or server to serve food etc. And in case if you want to do ceremony inside, because of bad weather, there isn’t enough seating or standing place for more than 120. We wanted to do a Hindu ceremony, which is 45 minutes long and requires small stage, which will reduce available space inside even more. The only way we could have done inside ceremony is by making many of our guests to stand and reduce our guest count to half. Jessica was a wonderful person to work with and she really tried hard to make it work for us; however, we were unable to reduce out guest list and decided to look for different venue. Barnes refused to return any amount of our deposit, even though it was 15 months in advance and was very easy for them to give dates to someone else.

I rarely do reviews, however, we attended a wedding last night. First of all, plenty of parking on lovely grounds for photos near a pond/large tree. Enter up a a pretty good incline (mentioned for wheelchairs and/or disabled) into a barn atmosphere bar/reception area. The waitstaff is extremely pleasant and attentive. We had passed appetizers, all of which were delicious. We then moved to a lovely barn style room, where beautifully set tables awaited. The barn floor, did make it a little difficult to dance on the dance floor, not for me, but others did comment. The restrooms nearly, where spotless and well stocked with thoughtful items. The meal was delicious (chicken way too salty), and the courses were well timed. Again, the wait staff made the experience. They were very attentive, cleaned the tables and made sure we were taken care of.

I attended my bestfriends wedding last night as a bridesmaid with multiple food allergies and sensitivities. Kate, my friends wedding coordinator at The Barns, made the night perfect not only for the bride, groom, and all guests, but for me as well. I reached out a week prior informing her of my medical issues and dietary restrictions. Kate went above and beyond to make sure I had a properly prepared dinner for the evening. I’m often hesitant to eat at events due to cross contamination and past experiences, however, The Barns and Kate were absolutely fantastic and I can’t thank them enough for going out of their busy planning schedule to accommodate me. All around, the evening was perfect from the service, the food, the staff, the beautiful decor, and all the details incorporated to make the evening flawless for my two friends getting married! My wife and I would like to thank the entire staff of the Connecticut Wedding Group for making our big day truly special. Months later, our friends and family still rave about the food and ambiance. Allie, Cate, and Sam were fantastic coordinators who even went as far as to help us with vendor issues and kept the day moving smoothly. With their help, we were truly able to relax and be present through every moment of the day. I highly recommend the venue for their customer service and commitment to making the occasion special.

Beautiful venue, food and staff very good. Have been to a wedding there nicely done - we also work with a number of couples having their wedding at the location and I have heard nothing but great things about their experience. Especially having a wedding planner on staff that keeps them on track with what needs to be done (thank god) because as a vendor who does wedding gowns, stationery and the rest it is good that someone is telling their couples the true time line to get things done!! We are currently working with a couple brides with their gowns and their stationery and its great that they do help keep them on track and follow up with them! Every venue should help their couples that way!!!

My husband and I got married at The Barns on June 23rd, 2019. I dont think it would be possible to explain how much in love we were with our experience from start to finish. The wedding planners at the Barns are AMAZING. They are there to answer all of your questions and really just take the hassle and stress away from you so you can enjoy yourself. Our day was perfect. Our wedding planner was Cathy and she was incredible! I couldnt believe how well she set up our reception, handled all the little details, and was there every second. She had an awesome personality and honestly it made both my husband and I feel so comfortable. She always knew what was going on at all times. The whole night was exactly how I had envisioned it to be. It was absolutely beautiful. The food was exceptional. The Barns has couples come to what really is a mini wedding a few months before the wedding with other couples who are getting married that year. It was a blast! Totally didnt expect the tasting to be a party in itself but it was so much fun. We got to try all the different options and each was so good. The drinks were also crazy good. There isnt enough I could say about The Barns but it was 100% our dream wedding. Thank you to all the amazing staff for making the day so special!

Loved everything about this place. Rustic feel, very charming. Healthy unique appetizers. Coffee tea station, blazing donuts, so much food. My friend got married in the barn. It was so beautiful with the lights. Would highly recommend.

From every coordinator, to bartender, waiter, and receptionist, our experience at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills would not have been as memorable had we picked another venue. We became friends with them, we enjoyed celebrating our evening with them, and we never felt unsatisfied. We truly are going to miss working with The Barns and all of their staff. I would hands down recommend booking your wedding at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills because you arent just booking a venue. You are choosing a company and the people who you will trust to plan one of the most memorable times of your life. We trusted and LOVED our decision.

We recently had our daughters wedding at your facility in December of 2019.Most importantly, the food, service, attention to deal, venue, were all top notch. Our coordinator, Lindsey was phenomenal. We couldnt have asked for more personalized service than we received.Our concerns are two fold. One, the hors douevres table was outstanding! Unfortunately the passed appetizers were, from what I understand now, quickly devoured by the guests standing by the kitchen. This resulted in many people, ourselves included, not even seeing any of them let alone actually tasting them. Truly the first time I saw any of the appetizers was when the bride and groom were given their own platters in the bridal suite (which was a nice touch!) before the bridal party was announced. We were told there was supposed to be 12 choices, of which I saw only 3.Our second concern was the cost of the decor. The exorbitance of the fees charged was numbing. We were told the decor costs were non negotiable due to a third party coming in, taking them down/up, cleaning, etc. We were at the venue several times before our event and the same lights and fabrics were hanging each time. I daresay they were never even taken down! How can I be charged $4,097.00 for decorations that appear to be hanging all the time, not at all optional? This includes the garden lights, fabric drapes, bistro wall, pin lights on columns and the wine barrels. There were, as I know youre aware, many additional charges as well. I feel there was a fee for everything short of the water and air in the building. All of this, and then we were additionally charged another $901.34 for administrative fees for the decor! The total charges for the decor that someone else has also repeatedly paid for over and over again totaled $5315.73.I have read many of the reviews that have been posted online, most of them extremely favorable. I feel that in fairness to others considering your venue for their special event, the whole picture needs to be presented. While I realized some of the charges ahead of time, the exact totality of the numbers and the fairness of the additional administrative fees on top of that are avaricious.Kathleen Kalentkowski

Went here for a wedding, a very expensive wedding. It was pretty, but the dance floor was very small and the old barn floor made it hard to move around wearing heels. It was a beautiful place but for what they paid I feel like they should have gotten more.

We went to a wedding here a few months ago and we were in absolute love with this place. The staff was amazing and ontop of everything. The food was excellent and when a person in our group asked for a child portion for her daughter it was delivered immediately. Overall, it was fantastic and we are keeping this in mind for our future wedding.

I was there yesterday for my sisters wedding reception. The facility was top notch, the staff very professional, and the food excellent. The grounds were beautiful. We saw a mother duck and five ducklings in the pond and one of the other bridesmaids said that was a sign my sister and her husband would have 5 kids. Haha
