Absolute nightmare, still trying to get back our $1000 deposit after 4 MONTHS!! After reading all of the great reviews on here I decided to go with this company. I booked the car online for 12pm and it isnt until after you confirm that that they let you know you had from 12-12:59 to pick up the car or it would be cancelled no refund. I figured my flight could be late so I immediately edited the time to 1pm and they approved it. My flight lands and I call the company as there was no shuttle, she said my car was cancelled but after some back and forth they realized they approved my later time and sent someone 45 minutes later to pick me up. Just a heads up on top of the fee online there is a $13/day mandatory toll charge, understandable but brings up the cost significantly. The hours on our contract stated they open at 7am however the woman explained they have been opening at 9am but could have someone return us to the airport that morning if requested. We requested 7:30am return to the airport and stressed that it could not be late, she ensured us it would be on time and ready to go. We returned out car at 7:20am but nobody was there so we called the number, it sounded like they forgot about our time and sent someone 15 minutes late to our requested time. The woman started looking over the car and explaining there was excessive sand in the car (in a beach town) and we would be charged a cleaning fee. There was light sand from normal use and the company states they routinely sanitize and vacuum cars between customers. I took photos once we were dropped off at the airport, we were already late for our flight so I was not able to document extensively but you can see how little sand was in the car. Its been 27 days since we dropped off the car and we have not received any word of our $1000 deposit. I emailed the company about the matter and they were very dismissive stating the car needed to be vacuumed and we would be charged. Edit: this company added a $25 “administration fee” to the cleaning fee as well
I found Nico Rent a Car through Turo initially and then used them directly. What a great company! Their communication is top notch, cars are gorgeous and they picked me up and and dropped me off at the airport - no waiting in long lines and crazy shuttles. You can’t beat the price or the personalized service. I will definitely use them every time I am in Miami!
This was the worst experience I’ve ever had. Don’t come here at all. We waited over an hour and never got a car. Our vacation is ruined. Thanks for the service. Absolutely HORRIBLE. I would give negative stars if I could. Ignore the good reviews, they’re all completely fake. This place is a scam and the people here don’t even speak English. We use TURO to rent a car. They charged a 200$ guarantee by credit card They said it will be refunded some days after the return. Now 2 months after they say Turo has to refund. (this assurance never went through TURO app) they basically steel 200$ - Not recommended at all
We waited 1:30 for no car. we had to go to their suspect partner r u rentals, and we had to wait another hour 30 for the car. Would not recommend this place. If you do decide to go here, by no means go to R U rental afterwards.

I booked a car from Karina G. on Turo but when I went to pick up the car, there was no Karina...it was a commercial rental company called Nicos Rent A Car. They are involved in classic security deposit fraud. They will ask you you to give them a refundable security deposit of $400, and claim it will be returned in 9 business days to your account. But will never be refunded that money because this is a fraudulent business that is doing a huge disservice to Turo customers. In fact, even when they charge you the extra fees and security deposit, it will show up on your bank statement as BOAT MIAMI BEACH, likely another sham affiliated business. You will then spend many days trying to get your money back until you finally file a fraud claim with your bank.It is 100% not worth it. Go elsewhere. Turo, if youre reading this, you need to shut down this host for their deceptive practices!

The worst and most unprofessional business I have ever encountered in my adult life. I spoke for 3 consecutive days to a female employee who suggested I book direct and not pay the surcharge through the other sites. Then on the actual date no one knew they had a female employee and didnt make reservations directly. Though I have the call history for the past 3 consecutive days speaking for several minutes each time to the same employee who has yet to call me back, and all to the same exact business phone number. The last person was extremely rude and full of lies. How can a reputable small business not know of any female employee they have answering the phone for 3 consecutive days both morning and night and all of a sudden have complete different policies in place. I would never recommend anyone to deal with this company.

Nico Rent a Cars, an excellent place to rent my car, I guarantee a happy stay in Miami. Rent a Nissan Rouge, in very good technical and clean condition. Miss Aly, attended to each of the details of my reservation online and during my stay in a very professional way, with kindness she kept abreast of each of the details. I have no doubts, Nico will always be my favorite place to rent a car.
So we requested a Jeep for 6 people for 10 days last week.We had chosen this company for the Jeep and the space we needed for 10 days.When we get there.....Theres a white Jeep there and She the office Manager said thats not ours and gave us a Chevy Trax which barley holds 4 people and luggage.Since we had no other cars available she gave us 5.00 off.. which never showed up on our bill, plus they change the time the car is due back from 1 pm for a 4:50 flight and said its due back at 11 am.. this was 25.00 fine.Under a Federal Law called bait and switch companies are not allowed to change there products with out notice..We are filing a law suite against this company and asking the Secretary of state to investigate this company.The car Chevy Trax they apparently 7 of these and only 1 Jeep ..But yet sell you a jeep which they Know you will not get..
Price was great compared to other companies. Had an issue with the refund of the $1,000 in December which took longer than expected to be solved. However, owners responded and explained the situation. The company is NOT a scam; they were going through some stuff but learning from the situation. I got my money back.-Valentina
They were a life saver. They went above and beyond to accommodate my family and I at the last minute with a car when another car rental place that we had a reservation with didn’t have a car for us. DO NOT RENT A CAR FROM HERE!!! The worst costumer service that you can ever experience. And a bunch of thieves. We rented a car and bought insurance with it. We arrived at the airport and waited an hour for the shuttle, no one came for us nobody answered our calls. We took a taxi and paid $15 get to them and when we arrived there was a lady sitting inside with the door shut. Me, my toddler, my husband and sister went in and complained about waiting at the airport and about nobody answering our calls, but then she kicked us out and said that only one person is allowed in because the guy who worked there had COVID!!! My husband stayed in trying to finish the paperwork but then tried to charge us an extra $300 because the insurance we purchased when we booked the car was not approved by the company. It was a total mess! Please save yourself time and effort and rent from a decent company even if it is a little more expensive.
I RENTED A CAR in advance using discover cars for a cheap price and confirmed a certain price HOWEVER upon arriving and a 30 minute wait time, they began to add additional charges. Nico is horrible service! Secretary lady is very rude!

There was a group of people standing with me who were on my delayed flight also and had a cancelled vehicle booking! Classical bait and switch. Total scam. They will NOT honor your own liability insurance coverage, citing they require the liability limit to be 1,000,000. There is no such thing as 1,000,000 limit, the typical max is 300,000. So you will have to pay on the spot.You will end up paying 3X your quoted price.Discover car is no help either and they acknowledge the vendors practice is within the line.Do not use either of these services.
I rented a vehicle from this company last month. From start to finish the whole process was such a breeze. I was in and out and on my way. I would definitely recommend this company to rent a car from in Miami.
Well now that I have my deposit money $1000 back, I can safely say that I am surprised how some companies run their businesses. It took me a month to get my deposit back since their merchant blocked their account from returning deposits due to customers complaining with either their banks or credit card companies; I wonder why? the car was good overall but the hidden charges, and the excessive liability required to rent a car when I fully covered by my insurance is ridiculous. The owner Mr. Nicola Capador or which ever is his name should have his business closed due to false advertisement and really third world customer service and way of operating a business.
I am gladding with this rent a car.I did a call on Jan 01 at 1:30 pm requesting a car for rent and at 3 pm I was driving with everything ready.They offered me a sedan and I got a SUV for the same price. They did not have an exactly time to return the vehicle. I left it in the parking lot of the office at night on Sunday, and return the key into the box outside the office. Very simple.Perfect condition the vehicle, excellent service and attention. 100% recomendable.
Scam artists, never fall for their prey. Actually feel sorry for the staff that work there. The price will look lovely up until the point you are supposed to pay it, when magically it will quadruple because of fees that are not included.Just stay away and keep yourself to one of the bigger names in the entry hall. It will not only save your wallet in the end, but also provide you with decent service. I dont even want to think about what would have happened in the situation a problem would occur with a car rented from this company. You would probably end up in the sewers.
Worst experience ever!!! I was waiting for 2 hours and the owner came in and said she did not have anything after telling me they had 2. Lady in the front desk has great customer service but the owner was the worst. She was extremely rude! Basically kicked me out of the building. I wish I can give negative stars. Now I’m stuck with out a rental after canceling my other ones!!!
The onsite customer service was great - Ally at the front desk was very nice and even drove me to the airport herself, after I dropped off the rental. The rental car itself was OK but suited my needs.
We rented out the Porsche Boxster the car was amazing, and the service was even better, will definitely rent a car from them next time I’m in Miami

DONT GO!!! Very sketchy. Asked for a $1,000 deposit. Online it only says $200. So then randomly clerk dropped it to $500. I was told I would get it back in 20 days. It has now been 2 months and they are no longer returning calls and refuse to connect me to the accounting department. Still no $500 back.

The company dodges your calls and makes excuses such as having problems with switching banks once you do get a hold of them, and ensures that money should be arriving in a matter of days. I have heard this same excuse several times until I now realize they have no actual plan in place of returning peoples deposits. This company operates on complete theft and scam, taking advantages of families.
This was the worst rental car experience I have ever had. DO NOT BOOK WITH NICO.TL;DR: they made us feel unsafe by providing a car that broke in the middle of the highway, were unhelpful with resolving the issue and didnt even apologize for ruining our plans, and on top of that their price was not even lower than of normal car rental agencies.In more details:We had a question prior to the rental and we called them, but the person did not speak English. There were no people before us when we arrived, but it took an hour to finally get the car. I am not sure what exactly the lady was doing, but apparently smth to do with their booking system being down. Also, the price has increased 4x from what has been shown on their website (I do understand the necessity of insurance, and the fact that the fee is not super transparent, but I never had as much of a mark-up with other rental companies). The car was a bit on a dirtier side and smelled weirdly, but not too horrible. Also the car was pretty old, and it looked like it has been through a lot. Almost right away we noticed the sign that there were no pressure in the tires, so we had to stop to pump them. We continued with our trip (and probably have done only around 6 hours of driving in 2 days), when in the middle of a highway the car started making weird noises and kind of almost stopping. We managed to stop at the side of a highway and saw green liquid coming from the car. After that car wouldnt start again. We called the rental agency. Again, the lady didnt speak English, but gave us a number of some guy that we were supposed to call, we did, and then this whole calling different people thing was continuing for 2 hours. They didnt have any set up process for such an occasion and it was all super chaotic and stressful. Finally, we called the towing company, which then took the car to a repair shop, which by then was already closed. The rental company told us that their owner Nico left Miami (which was a lie) to drive to the place where we were and check the car and if needed provide us with a different car. We had to change our plans and book a hotel next to where we ended up. Next morning, thinking that they are trying to solve the problem, we were waiting for them to contact us, which they didnt. Then we called them around 1pm, hoping that we would get another car, but when we called we realized that they havent done anything to repair the situation. After arguing on the phone for a while, they finally offered to give a car from another agency. We checked that agency on Google and all the reviews from there were saying that it was a scam, so that was not an option for us and we just booked with a normal rental car agency, where everything went smoothly (and also much cheaper). We asked for a full refund from Nico, which they said that they would give, but then during the same call started going back on their word. They said that we can apply for a partial refund 20 days after. Will see how that goes. So in summary, they made us feel unsafe by providing a broken car, were unhelpful with resolving the issue, didnt apologize for ruining our plans, and on top of that their price was not even lower.

But they recommend their next door neighbor for double the double the price.Total scam.Update: they lied to DiscoverCars (the travel agent) and said I was a no-show so I can’t get my money back. I have attached the form Nico sent in saying “no show”. Absolute lies.
Total rip off. I had a price online $369 for 4 weeks. I get there and they are basically forcing me to pay the insurance plus taxes and additional fees total $1782. she said if my insurance covers rental the best she could do is $815. My contract shows I only needed to pay $336. These people are scam artists bait and switch. Buyer beware!!!

This is a scam operation. They bait you in with a low quote from discovercar.com; note that the price is non-refundable. Once you arrive, they will force you to pay their ridiculously priced supplemental liability insurance. Your rental price would jump by 3x with the insurance. Dont expect to get away with proof of your own insurance. They would require a limit of $1M liability on your own which you cannot get from any insurer. (your typical limit is only up to 30k). At this time, you cannot leave without being forfeited the non-refunable rental price. So you are locked in to pay for the insurance. This is a bait and switch scam. I am reporting them to the state attorney.
BAIT & SWITCH!!! DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!!! We rented from Nico’s unintentionally, through a third party online company. We were quoted about $300 for a Toyota Corolla. The original listing for the car specifically stated that this company was located at the airport. This is incorrect. THIS COMPANY IS NOT LOCATED ON AIRPORT PROPERTY!!! We landed at 12:30, immediately went to the airport’s rental center where we noticed Nico’s is not there. We attempted to call them for over 45 minutes with no answer. Called the third party online company to request assistance & they, as well, could not get ahold of Nico’s. After 45 minutes, we finally got someone to answer the phone. It was a Hispanic woman who was incredibly hard to understand. I asked if there was anyone around who could speak English & she just kept over talking me. At about the 1 hour mark, we finally get a shuttle to their off site office. The whole ride from the airport, the worker complained to us about the amount of people they had come in at once, the customers before us being rude & not understanding the need for additional insurance, and this being his job due to covid & him living off tips. Once arriving to the off site location, our price jumped from about $250 for a Toyota Corolla to almost $600. The gentleman explained that the difference was mandatory insurance, fees & for tolls. He told us that we had to have $500k in liability insurance or we had to purchase theirs. We called our insurance company & got our policy changed. Nico’s then requested we email over a BINDER. Our insurance company sent over all of the information via email (since this company doesn’t have a fax machine). The employees kept denying that they ever received any of our insurance’s emails. One employee would say they just needed proof of the liability coverage & then another employee would state again that it had to be a full binder. We spent over 2 hours on the phone with our insurance, having them email it multiple times & even offering for the employees to speak directly to our insurance as proof. Nico’s refused to admit that they had received the emails & refused to accept any options we had as “proof”. After 3 1/2 hours, we requested to be taken back to the airport where we were able to rent a Jeep, on site, through another company for $500 with a free sun pass!
They were so helpful! Best prices near MIA airport and the vehicle was so clean and pretty. Staff was amazing. Very detailed and clean more so on top of all COVID precautions. I highly recommend this car rental to anyone needing an affordable rental.

Loved the service, they truly take care of their clients! I had the opportunity to rent a brand new Jeep from them for over a week, and you truly cannot beat the prices. On top of that there was no wait no line when I checked in, and they cater to you in every way from the moment you get in touch with them over the phone. Be careful with this place, they are scam artists. The car we rented looked like there was a murder committed in it. After we returned it they didnt refund our security deposit and charged us another hundred dollars cleaning. Do not rent from these people

It’s really worst rental car shop. Though we made a reservation to pick up at 19pm on Christmas Eve, they have already closed office even before 18:30, and never answer to my call. Eventually I could not rent a car on that day, and had to take Uber. Also, we’ve made some prepayment, but it has not been refunded. I strongly recommend not to consider using this company, which just made you trouble as same as us.

I have finally had real communication with this company and they have given me proof of refund process for my deposit. I repeat: I am still awaiting my deposit to return, but proof of process has been provided.Now I am awaiting to see how long this portion of everything takes. Also, I believe potential users should be aware that they seem to have a 15 day extra holding time policy; it seems they begin counting 24 hours after rental return, and they will not even start the process for refund of deposit until the 15 Business days are up. Not very convenient, nor was this made clear by the company previous to todays conversation. Easily could have been explained much more simply and should have been communicated more readily. up to 2 business weeks is not an adequate, nor accurate answer.The woman we did business through made decent attempts at customer service, but it was very obvious she was overwhelmed and should not have been handling the business without her boss being present as every other question she had to consult her boss, however the boss did answer every one of her calls...(Final rating pending, lets see what happens...)

They offer an attractive price, but on-site it turns out you have to buy their expensive insurance or toll e-pass.Through a thirty party service I booked a car for a great price way in advance, for 48 days. They sent me a confirmation that I am good to go.A week later they call me to tell me that they cant do 48 days, only 30 days and that I have to cancel. Eventually we agree on splitting the 48 days into two periods. I also notify them that my flight time has changed, so I will be arriving later.Thats strike 1, because why do you confirm my booking and then call me later to say you cant do it? What if I lost the second best deal in the meantime?Day of pick-up comes. They take me from airport to the office. Immediately it feels like something is off because we had discussed the terms at length and all that was left was to sign a piece of paper and give me the keys.Instead, she asks to see my insurance. I opted to self-insure, so I show my GEICO insurance. She says its no good because they need $1 million in coverage. I point out that the terms and conditions they sent me did not specify the amount, but that GEICO is fine. Strike 2.I offer to change my coverage right now through the GEICO website.She says she will not accept it. Why? Because their terms and conditions say the insurance should be valid 3 months in advance. (My insurance was valid, I was simply changing the coverage). She wont budge and tells me I have to buy their insurance, which triples the cost of the rental.Thats strike 3 because I offered to meet their conditions, but they wouldnt let me.(I also want to point out it later turned out GEICO doesnt even offer $1 million coverage for certain liabilities. I bet they knew.)The final straw was that after I called the lady out for being deceptive she brought up that my flight arrived later than I initially indicated, so I had according to their rules forfeited the booking. (I had to remind her she had agreed to my arrival time change).To summarize, they are not interested in offering a good service but in attracting you with a good price that turns out to not be real.They do not deserve to be in business.

First off, I was told I couldnt use my own sunpass on the rental and they wanted to charge me $14 per day and I was renting the car for 21 days it felt like a scare tactic if I didnt get there sun pass I would be charged $25 per toll. Also I gave them proof of my insurance and they said it wasnt enough coverage so wanted me to upgrade my policy,they probably dont have enough coverage on there cars! which is bull I never had this issue before. I told them I didnt want there sunpass so I was declined it. Waving it. Then showed me my bill and they were trying to charge $5 for sunpass which I denied I said I dont want it, also was trying to get me to pay for other fees and taxes that added up to almost$100 more than my agreed rental.really shady operation no managers on site it felt like a total scan rip off.there was one more customer there and tried the same thing he got fed up and called a Lyft to go back to airport to get a rental car. I ended up leaving without a car. The whole ordeal left a bad taste I didnt feel right my gut told me enough and we left. Totally unprofessional business. Please watch who you rent from the lowest price isnt always worth it, thats what I found out. OH on top of all that they wanted to charge my credit card $1,000 deposit and said it might take 20 to thirty days to get it back. Please be very careful! UPDATE!!! a day later went to Ace rental car at airport no issues what so ever showed my insurance card no problem, told them I had my own sunpass no problem. I really hope this post saves a lot of people problems and stress and time and money. For ace rental I went to kayak and got a great deal. Look for rental cars in terminal at airport less issues off the plane and into your car to start your vacation. I hope this helps eveyone.

Came to Miami for two weeks and rented a car here! The best decision I made. Its a city you need to move a lot and places are not so close to each other. So you save more money renting than using Uber. Definitely good prices, very professional and excellent service! The car was impeccable!

SCAM!!!!! They tell you the sun pass is a mandatory charge and that the contract needs to be updated because it says recommended on the contract. Then when my insurance contacts them they say they never told me it was mandatory and that it was recommended therefore my insurance won’t cover it leaving me with this “mandatory” charge.

Best car rates around. Originally had a reservation with Zesgo which is horrible! They want to charge Florida resident $1.50 per mileage which is a disgrace, they say it’s in the fine print which is ridiculous when it says online unlimited mileage. Various customers in front of me felt mislead. Nico has a flat rate per day and they help you out the best they can. Very friendly staff, Aly and Nico attended me. Highly recommend!!

APPALLING!!!!!Worst Car Rental Company EVER !!! 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻I made a reservation with this company and they SCAMMED me. I rented a vehicle with them, even contemplated an additional payment to pick up and deliver the car after hours. They charged my credit card.Upon arrival in Miami we would supposedly meet the person in charge of the company outside the Car Rental Center. This person never appeared, they did not answer the calls, the whatsapp messages (they were read), I even went to their offices and nobody ever answered.The charge was not reversed either. In conclusion it is a SCAM !!!

They withheld a deposit on my credit card of $ 300 that apparently the bank had problems on the platform. The man called me and offered me the refund via zelle or cash, which I accepted.
