I was in the club and spoke to the GM. He was kind but he refused to assist me. I asked to speak with the owner and was told that the owner doesnt respond to problems such as this as if its too minute for him. You guys are billing my alternate payment source first (I have the contract) and then after that doesnt go through because that card was closed due to fraudulent charges, then they go and bill my primary billing source and then charge me a late fee so instead of paying 22.00 for a black membership Ive been charged 38.37 for 6 months and Im told I cant cancel this membership until I pay the annual renewal fee. Its funny that you guys charge my debit card for everything else but not the renewal fee. This has been happening since January and unfortunately I am busy and dont pay close attention to my bank account. Totally my fault but I have never once received a phone call, text, email, nothing to advise me that there was an issue. My email address nor phone number have changed. I would think that a business with a good reputation would try to contact the customer, pull me to the side when I come to the gym, none of this has ever happened. Instead I have a young man on the phone arguing with me last Friday telling me that I havent made a payment since January. No one knows whats going on and doesnt seem to care. They seem all to comfortable charging my alternate payment source initially instead of charging the primary one. Again, a phone call would have sufficed and showed that I, as a customer, am important to you.

The staff has inconsistent practices when it comes to the benefits of the black card membership. The manager that was on duty, Janero, was not accommodating in his staff’s mishap. Other locations are operationally ran better than this one.

Very clean facility. Showers have a small cubby for you to put your shower things in there instead of the ground.Social distancing implemented on the machines so that there’s one empty machine between you and another person. They stay on top of the cleanliness very well which I appreciated.Friendly staff that greets you when you arrive AND when you’re heading out.Great variety of channels playing while you workout.

Me and my friend came in nocked out a workout, seemed chill excited to go back.Also I went at night, much less traffic.

This is my gym 💪 love it! Ive been coming here for at least 2 years never had an issue machines are always working.

Excellent work out as usual. The place is always clean. There is plenty of equipment available for you to move around and complete your program. People are very courteous. They all take the precautions of cleaning the equipment with the spray bottles and paper towel available at stations throughout the gym. I love the music and I like to see Americans getting out and getting back in shape.

I’ve too many bad things to say about planet fitness that I’ve taken it to corporate.Changed my bank information & never going back, worst gym I’ve ever been to .Not to mention when you cancel they still take your money and say you cannot cancel .Also got called broke by an employee for trying to cancel .They also kept running a card that was clicked to be a ONE TIME CHARGE ! I just regret this not to mention I signed up on a promotional offer and I was told I’d be paying 18$ for 12 months and here they are taking out 60$ ! For what? I don’t know and I have the receipt and proof to prove everything .Lifetime & golds gym are better gyms for sure !

I love this gym. As a new fit was blogger, I love the environment, how its not super packed, and the equipment is up to date and not run down. Great gym! The atmosphere/rules are super chilled too!

So I went to PF last night (04/28/2021) with my brother and this has been the best experience I have ever had at a gym! And I have been to many gyms. The people at the front desk were very chill and relaxed and nice. We went around 10: 45pm-11pm, it was surprisingly a good bit of people in there. Overall, very cool atmosphere. I really felt like it was a judgement free zone. I think I will be getting myself a membership. Keep up the good work PF@Mesquite!

I enjoy going but now with Covid Im more cautious. Some days when I go it looks like it hasnt been cleaned and theyve been out of hand sanitizer. Social distancing is practiced and theyre app is very helpful.

Planet Fitness was awesome a little busy tonight but I was able to get my tripple set arm workout done in under an hour. 💪🏾

Well I love all the machines and facility is set up great with lots of programs and good stress free environment. Good place for a Cowboy to work out.

I just signed up for a planet fitness membership a couple days ago and this was my first day to go workout there. I walked in and there was a Hispanic male at the front counter by the name of Alfredo, who claims he was the regional manager. I told him I had just signed up online and didn’t know what my next steps were. He said that I needed to download the app on my phone to be able to check-in. I told him I didn’t have my phone with me at that time. He said I would not be able to work out without the app check in on my phone. I asked him if he could look me up by name in the computer and he said no. I told him I really believed there was another way they could check a customer in for situations like this one. He said if I was not happy that I could cancel my membership. In my mind I didn’t want to cancel because I just signed up and I haven’t even had a chance to work out yet. This was such a bad experience! Alfredo could have done such a better job at finding a solution. Instead I had to leave and didn’t get to work out because according to Alfredo, I had to have a phone with the app to be able to check in. I hope planet fitness can talk to Alfredo and rectify this. I wouldn’t want any customer to be treated this way. This guy was a complete jerk. I don’t want to leave planet fitness just because of my experience with Alfredo, but I am definitely considering it.

I love Planet Fitness. Its a great place to workout, inexpensive and not over crowded. The staff is great in the evenings, they are very helpful and very polite. Thanks Planet Fitness

Updated review: This place is even worse then the last time I did this review. Theyve had the roof leaking and pipes leaking now. No telling how much black mold is growing and were inhaling. Ive asked like 6 times when they are even going to fix the big clock on the wall which has been wrong since the power outage back in February. I think this may be my last time in the gym since even the managers dont fix stuff you bring to their attention. Attaching mire pics. You tell me if this is the kind of gym you want to pay a monthly fee for.This used to be a nice Planet Fitness to go to. Changing my review because things in the gym stay broken or need repaired for months on end. Case in point, the water fountain has been broken for 4 months. Why are we getting charged a maintenance fee every year? They tell you to social distance but the worked dont follow it. There will be 3 to 5 people at the counter on their phone when things in the gym need taking care of.

Place is kept clean, you will see staff disinfecting the entrance and everyone respecting each others space and time in the gym.

I went to planet fitness last night around 9:30 people was there but I love that they are social distancing things as far as some machines to be on they have a sign on those so you have to use the one next to I thought was very awesome you really have enough room to enjoy yourself I also had a shower as well as I was going to the locker room the last that works there was cleaning and sanitizing cudos to her and she was also walking around the gym as well making sure everything was kept quite clean so yes Im going back tonight thanks planet fitness for making me very comfortable to come back to the gym to start my weigh lost journey whoop whoop and the gym was very nice and clean all over .Everyone still had on mask as well.😀

No paper towels in the tanning room!! guy name Genaro refused to give me more than one token for massage chair was rude lacked customer service said I could come back and get another if theres no one waiting keep in mind theres another chair and hardly anyone here Id say maybe 20-30 inmembers... Great gym but keep an eye out on the crowd meter, from 6-9 it’s packed especially now, equipment is in decent shape for the most part. Staff is cool I guess, the gym users are pretty cool too

Pretty friendly staff. You can check yourself in. It is very CDC protocol friendly. Mask must be worn to enter and can be taken off when you start to work out.

Closes gym to me actually surprised the people working out manage keep machines clean & actually respectful..just started going four weeks ago..enjoying it so far..

New location & many associates ready to help/clean. PF started using the app so very little interaction & touching. Mobile app also tells you about crowds through the crowdometer.Almost everyone wears a mask while working out, and they have blocked off every other machine.

Do not come here if you care about covid. About half of the gym had in no mask walking around and at their station. The people that work here did not care at ally covid is no joke. I just got over it two weeks ago. I cancelled my membership today.

I was charge $40 for a $20 membership. When I called to ask the guy Why, he says that there were NSF fees when trying to pull my payment. I told him that was not accurate since the account has had sufficient funds to cover the membership payment. The guy at the desk says his manager stated they have trouble with Green Dot banking because it’s prepaid and someone should have told me......I’ve been a member for 6 months, no issues. I asked if they will refund my money for the NSF fee and he says no. Never got to speak with a manager and they obviously don’t care about keeping clientele. They will charge late fees, knowing that they have issues with some banks. Keep the late fee, cause you’ve definitely lost my business!

I was exploratory mode and I was truly impressed with the cleanliness of the facility and the genuine enthusiasm from the gyms representative. Just need to strengthen and build up my commitment muscle.

Good gym but would be nice if the people working there actually helped to clean the equipment. They have disinfectant but the paper towels absorb it all so makes it difficult to easily move from one piece of equipment to another and feel confident that youre not going to pick up whatever germs and sweat the last person left behind.

I moved back to the Mesquite area from Garland awhile back.... when I lived in Garland I would work out at the 24 Hour Fitness there off of Walnut Lane, which I truly enjoyed, but I cant say the same for the Mesquite location. The Garland location is twice the size of the Mesquite location and has a lot more variety of workout equipment, no matter what time of the day at Garland you could go in and get a workout in and NEVER have to wait for a machine... ever ! I am very disappointed with arriving to this location and cant get in a workout because it is filled beyond capacity with no place to work out...sucks !

I like the gym but it can sometimes get over crowed and you have to wait to use the equipment and some people are literally just standing at the equipment chit-chatting like no one else needs to work out. But on the plus side, the staff are very helpful when you need your questions answered. I did cancel my membership.

Its always super packed during the day, but thats why I go late at night.lol they should open another Planet Fitness in Mesquite.

During the day there is less people, on average there is a positive vibe. Be warn in the evenings it gets packed!! Not necessarily a bad thing since everyone is there to workout which is a common goal for all the regulars. The building is a decent size with plenty of machines

Its a nice simple gym with the necessary equipment for your needs. The people that work there are very nice and helpful. The best part that we liked was it was CLEAN and the members are in their own world exercising not like others gyms where you have people showing off with their bodies or not letting you use the equipment. And their bathrooms are dirty. I recommend it.

I do like that they are social distancing.. still a bit busy looks like but everyone seems to be respectful.

This place is ok but its not my normal location so they dont have all the equipment and machines that home home location has but it is cool

They ran a card that when signed up was a one time charge. I called them and they refused a refund or credit. Rude

They have taken the needs of their customers as well as the current situation with covid-19 seriously and are doing a professional, pleasant job.

I was able to tan. No wait. Everyone is required to wear a mask.

Best. Gym. Doesnt get any better than this place, folks. #1 its affordable and they have a lot of deals. #2 The staff is incredible ! All of them are very friendly and responsible. An employee named Tony and a couple of his pals were even kind enough to help me out of a major jam by replacing my tire ! He deserves a promotion or a raise after that. Seriously.To sum it up: Its an easy 5 stars. This place is worth the visit. And not just because of the delightful employees, but also because you will clearly see results from working out here. I know I sure did !

I have been at this location a few times and I have to say, its a good gym. I thought it would be worse due to the location, but its fairly nice. A lot of equipment and space helps everyone to do whatever they want to do. Everyone that works out cleans up after themselves and I feel relaxed in there. We all have the common goal so no one bothers each other or judges one other. I cant wait to go work out again.

Good, clean, consistent. Amiable staff and usually not too busy. I appreciate the type of equipment they have since I typically work out alone and don’t ever have a spotter. I would definitely recommend it. No production crews (gym shark/alphalete wannabes) so always a plus. Tanning is awesome and overall a good gym for amateurs and semi professional people.

This is a pretty busy gy . Staff is great! The only issue is that the floor is real dirt . All types of hair and dus . Not once have I seen anyone vacuum. i hope something can be don .

Watch out. I NEVER used this service. I was told initially that my check was not good enough, that my husband had to come in person to sign a check before I could use their fitness center. They told me that I could not use the facilities until after my husband had signed a check for the monthly auto bank draft. I left thinking that I did not have a membership. After being treated this way, I NEVER went back there. My husband never delivered said signed check. Later, I find out that they have been billing and drawing from my bank account, all this time. They are telling me that I will keep being billed until I come in person, or send a certified letter to cancel my membership. The person who signed me up conveniently no longer works for Planet Fitness. Manager was indifferent.RESPONSE TO OWNER/MANAGEMENT:You can’t have it both ways. You can not say I can not use your facilities and then turn around and charge me for it at the same time.Since it will be necessary to “cancel” a “membership” that I was not able to use (because you said that I could NOT use the facilities until AFTER my husband had come in person and signed an auto-monthly-bank draft and my husband never delivered said check); I will have to also send copy cancellation letters to: 1. My bank, and 2. The Better Business Bureau. I will call you all tomorrow for the necessary info. (Names, badge numbers, address).Friday, 22 March 2019:I tried to call the management today. Their GM is the least helpful person Ive ever encountered. I had an issues and left FOUR messages for her to get back to me over a 2 week time frame, there were two other people involved and they left messages for her and she made no effort to contact any of us. She told us to contact corporate because she refused to help.

This is my favorite gym in my area. There is plenty of equipment and usually no waiting to check in. The staff is friendly and helpful. I just wish they would light up that beautiful parking lot at night.

Let me start out by saying, it’s just this location. Sadly, it’s my home location. I was in the gym today. It wasn’t planned, just had time to burn off some energy. There was an employee inside working out. He went to tell another employee that it’s a black guy over there wearing jeans. The employee came over to me not even confident himself about Planet Fitness dress code.Actually, I didn’t have on jeans. I had on comfortable denim shorts. This employee still decided to approach me to say he was going to have to “ask me to leave if I didn’t have proper gym shorts”. He stated, because they had a “no jeans policy”. He saw the way I looked at him and backed down to get a second opinion.I myself went to the counter to see what’s the issue. The off duty employee began to try and address the issue. He wasn’t in any kind of uniform or proper attire to be representing Planet Fitness. The third employee, chimed in after I said, “ if my denim shorts that are not cut off is an issue, cancel my membership.” She states, the worse line I’ve ever heard in customer service. She states, “ your canceling your membership over shorts?” The look on her face was sarcasm. Bad idea for engaging good customer service.No, I’m canceling because of your approach and that your staff are not as familiar with dress code as they should be experts to be approaching customers during a work out. I actually read the dress code which is very broad when it comes to jeans specifications. Clearly because of this, I read a article from previous Store Manager that stated, it’s not as strict as some employees inconsistently try to enforce.I continued my workout but also addressed that their was a man in gym with cut off tank top that they did not approach. There was an elderly White Lady in full jeans working out. They also did not approach her. The inconsistency drove me mad. Especially since I’ve been a member for over three years. Even when I wasn’t going, I faithfully paid my membership.It’s things like this, these employees need additional coaching. It’s issues like this that planet fitness should continue coaching proper customer service and conflict management. Instead, they increased the conflict. If I was unprofessional, I could have seen the situation escalate higher than what it did.This is the closet Planet Fitness to me. Unfortunately, I’m going have to switch my location or even consider another gym. The showers even at this location doesn’t even have warm water. At other locations, this is not a issue. I’m concerned, if this is truly what they mean by VIP Membership have special access. Access to being treated differently, as long as your not a elderly person of the right race. I’m not sure of this locations issues. It clearly needs to be addressed. It’s clearly staffing!

Signed up for new membership online. Never got my tour walk around building on first day. So Ill be canceling my membership for a company that will take out the time to welcome new members.

Awesome atmosphere

Very large PF. Lots of treadmills and ellipticals. Separate rooms for abs, 30 minute stations. Very clean and well maintained. Friendly staff. It gets busy at peak morning times 8:30 am and right after work. You do get a lot of people that dont know fitness center etiquette.

Smith machines are gross. They dont let you use your natural form and they limit your movement on squat and incline. Should be switched to free weight machines. Smith machines are proven to damage your shoulders and put more tension on your inner arms and shoulders instead of chest. Unlike a true barbell bench press that gives you full range of motion and uses your stability muscles.

I love it here because noone is judging you for the way you look,exercise,or what you even wear!!!!

I love this gym! Its less than a 5 minute drive from my house so I try to make it in there every weekday before work. I signed up in January 2017 & couldnt be more pleased about my experience. Ive never felt as comfortable at any other gym as I do here, no judging, no staring. The staff is very friendly & greets you as soon as you start walking up to the front desk to check in. Its never packed & plenty of machinery to go around. Love this location!

Nice overall gym!

Facilities are huge and new and include a Work Out 360 area and 12 Minute Abs circuit training area. Staff can be apathetic and may or may not look up from their phones when you come or go or empty the trash, but the majority of the time the water is hot in the showers and there are plenty of open machines.

They do not have enough free weights. there is always someone else using the machine you want or the weights you need. unless you go at 10:00pm. or 4:00am.but otherwise good bang for the buck

Fairly new gym and has everything you need!! Great admission and monthly payment. Customer service is always nice, too. Dont get high grossed at 24 Hour or anything like that, enter the non-judgment zone at Planet!
