Went here the other day for the first time and the staff was a joy to be around. Oscar took the liberty of cutting my hair. He was funny, kind, and very good at what he does. I wasnt sure what to do with my hair but I gave him an idea of what I wanted and he provided me with an amazing haircut. He was very experienced and took his time get it perfect. The other staff Tyrone was a joy to be around as well. He is a free spirit and was fun to talk to when it came to sports. Compared to other barbers, they charge $40-50 a visit but from what I saw, they were charging $20 plus tip. This place is definitely cool and chill. I will be coming back again and I highly recommend this place for others to visit as well.

The barbers here are awesome. They take their time and really get it right. Ive seen them do some really creative, fun styles as well as plenty of the more common styles and they all look so good. You may wait a while on a busy day (Sat theres pretty much an hour wait all day), but they have TVs playing movies and the atmosphere in there is pretty chill anyhow. Highly recommend it!

I had heard a lot about Oskars place so I decided to give it a try and Im glad I did because Ive been going there ever since. He always takes his time with my haircut and makes sure Im satisfied with the outcome, even if it means going back and fixing little details. The wait can be a little long sometimes depending on when you go but its definitely worth it. Oskar provides top of the line haircuts and outstanding customer service.

I came from California, looking for a barbershop and after work stopped by to see how it was (since I worked right up the street) I was welcomed by Oskar, nice guy. I sat in his chair and we began to make convo like if Ive knowned him already before. I told him I wanted a medium razor fade and thats exactly what I got. He took his time and made me feel comfortable to the point where I was happy enough to keep coming over and over again. Hes the best barber in town and hes got good people skills. I came here for the 2 years that I was living in AZ. Unfortunately I moved back to Cali. But I highly recommend this barbershop to ANYONE and definitely worth every dollar. So let me tell you that Ive lived by this place for a few years and paid it no mind until I found out it was owned by someone that a lot if my brothers (fraternity) go to and know personally. I have a tendency of going to a place and sticking to it. Well, normally I go to sportclips until I got the run around of when my favorite stylist would be there. 3 wasted trips there only to find I had been given the wrong info on when she would be there. 3 strikes and you are out in my book. So I was in dire need of a hair cut so I decided to look up Oskar (the owner) and see where his shop was. Low and behold, it was literally around the corner from where I lived. I decided to give Oskar a chance. Boy! Was I glad I did. Let me tell you folks, if your barber takes less than 30 minutes on your hair then you have the wrong barber... my cut was over an hour but im glad he took his time. Now I understand why good cuts take so long. Oskar took the time to consult with me and get ideas on what I wanted to do with my hair. During the cut, he would explain what he was doing so that I had a thorough understanding of what my hair was doing and why. He also made suggestions on what I should do and how I should style my hair. No one has ever done that... ever. Highly impressed by this mans work ethics and talent. Im so impressed, that Payan Styles Barber Shop is now my new barber! Thank you Oskar for being a cool dude and excellent barber. Now I see why my brothers highly recommended you.
