Very nice gym, best one Ive seen. So many free weights, machines and lots of space. They have others things too like classes and a pool and day care.

The gentleman there was very helpful! Answered all questions and showed us around!

Out of all the gyms in Merced this is the best place to go. It has a pool and a spa which I like the most. The other places do not have a inside pool or Spa. As for the equipment there is a lot of strange equipment I am not interested in. But there is a lot of cool equipment that I am interested in . I have back problems and there are machines that help the back . And its just a nice cool place to come relax and work out the same time . Staff are friendly, members are friendly and respectful, and restrooms are always clean.

It has all of the equipment and space needed, never too crowded, nice employees. Its easy to walk to and no pressure to do less or more than you want. I also like that you dont have to sign up for classes.

The facility is fine and the staff is irrelevant. Problem is no one knows what the hell they’re doing and end up getting in the way much too often. The best time to go is 5/6AM because it’s usually relatively empty and the morons won’t arrive till around 8 or 9. Equipment is always either missing or in the wrong place because no one seems to know how to count. Also 80% of members never put their weight back due to being absolute pigs so you have to take off the weight others left on before putting on your own almost 100% of the time. You will also often see members make a complete fool of themselves doing absolute nonsense. Form? Nonexistent. Sensible routines? Outdated. Logic? Nope. Sadly this isn’t the staffs fault and there’s nothing to really be done but their member base is disgusting and it makes working out here awful. The only reason I’m still here is because I live within walking distance and it’s convenient. Unless you plan to workout early as hell I would recommended finding another gym with a member base that isn’t full of animals.

Everything one needs for a good workout. Equipment well maintained but club could use a little more attention of stuff left laying around from thoughtless people. I like this facility.

I like that I can zone out and focus on my fitness. I like to start off on the treadmill, and sweat all those toxins out! It feels so good to be back!!

I love the environment and the friendly staff. i love my In-shape location because it has the indoor pool and spa. I would like to take this time to recommend a new workout machine im not even sure exist, well it does at theme parks.. An Arm Wrestling Simulator workout machine, every gym needs one.

Vitoria (A Personal Trainer) was fantastic. I am not the athletic type but Vitoria provided me with a great workout without completely breaking me. She was able to be very flexible with my tight schedule and understanding during some family emergencies. Her knowable on the WRX machine and workouts are amazing!

Great gym in Merced. The staff members are all very welcoming! Machines are very nice and very well maintained. In the afternoon its pretty packed but before 5pm and after 9pm it dies down.

In shape is a great gym!I have been with them since 2015. Inshape has Great Magnement team. Theyre customer service and the staff are great . They are so resourceful, respectful, professional and always so helpful. All the equipment works and what doesnt theyre very quick to fix. I like how the gym is well-organized and clean, how in shape has the special classes offered to us members and how they have play care for the kiddos. I would recommend In shape to everyone I know. Thank you!

They are finally putting in classes for kids and families. My kids are at that age where they cant stand being in the kids care because they are too old, but not old enough to workout or do the classes.So Im super happy they are doing family classes. I just wish theyd do it after 530pm or on the weekends...but Im just glad they are being done.They are offering more classes and yoga, which I love.

This gym is okThey really need to keep the ladies bathroom floors cleaner and the shower stalls cleaner. There is always hair in the shower drains and the floors. If you use the pool area or ladies bathroom wear water shoes.

Nice gym! I went to visit my daughter in Merced and didnt want to miss my workout so I killed it there! You really can have a serious workout there and personnel at front desk was very friendly and helpful.

I love this place! Recently signed up. When i came by to look the place over the gentleman I was speaking with answered all my questions, and trust me I had a lot! He showed me all around the place and never once pressured me into committing right then and there. I went back 2 months after speaking to him and joined up. The trainer has helped me (not pressured into get paid time with him, just helped me when i asked questions) with modifying a workout due to health issues. The staff is friendly and polite, and I dont get that. . . uncomfortable feeling that I have at other gyms. All around an awesome place. Also, LOVE the pool at the G St. gym area.

This place is the most spacious in Merced CA, the bad thing is that it is one of the dirtiest, just check behind the machines, always full of dust, fans full of dust, the pillars, and the showers the floor already It is black because the dirt, there is no soap in the showers and almost always the sink is dirty and without paper, without missing that I never see someone from the staff cleaning machines or anyone fixing the machines that are in bad service, but they never forget charging fees, surprises me such good comments about this place knowing that we pay fees for arrangements that are not there,

I joined the gym and I am very impressed with the facility which has an of weights, bicycles, steppers, and a swimming pool. They have four locations in town which are all available to members. and and they are located across the states. I highly recommend.

Ive been a member now for 1.5 years. So far, Ive only used the weight room. I have these two complaints:Poor gym EtiquetteMany users of the weight room really need to be schooled on proper gym etiquette: return weights to their proper location when finished, wipe sweaty mess off equipment, let other lifters work in if they so request. Many users do not follow these common sense forms of etiquette, so they should be schooled in these things when they join the gym. I think it would then catch on more and more. This would really improve the overall quality of the weight room.OvercrowdingI know this problem is not unique to this gym, but at times overcrowding is an issue. Ive been turned down a few times after asking to work in with someone else (see above comment), so now I dont even bother to ask. Instead, I modify my workout by using equipment that is not taken. Hopefully the new gym in town will help with this problem. Id be willing to spend a little more money for a gym less crowded, but Ive not found a better solution.

Large size Jacuzzi, sauna is clean as the facility. Multi workout macines, but best of all... the front desk employees friendliness.

Nice place for a workout. Just avoid peak hours. Plenty of equipment and a decent sized sauna. Just about everyone at the front desk is friendly, professional and approachable.

The best gym in Merced county big free weight room is a plus so you dont run into everybody like Atwater needs to be updated badly

A bunch of followers people that cant get fit or exercise on THIR own instead pay lots of money to a (club) to feel a part of. Mens shower and hot sauna needs better privacy enforce to much sexual nudity going on in the mens room.

Just signed up the other day for this gym, the staff seem a bit to forceful to try and make you sign up. They get irritated very quickly if you want to think it over about the pricing... Im honestly just there to lose weight at my own pace, stop trying to make me get a trainer I dont want one... I already paid enough to go there for awhile, who knows if Ill even stay signed up to that gym, maybe just find a different one

I have been there a couple times and as far as machines, this is the best inshape in Merced. The one on Yosemite is fancier but not as efficient. The smell is sometimes a bit more overpowering than other gyms but thats to be expected. They close too early but they open really early so that kind of balances out. ALL TYPES OF EQUIPMENT!

Workers are good and equipment is acceptable. The workers also keep the gyms, at least the one Im at, really clean at a consistent schedule. Lots of cleaning supplies for you to wipe down machines after you use em. Atmosphere is good and socialble yet people around you focus on working hard. This isnt a gym for showcasing, this is an actual gym for anyone to go at their own pace.

Whether you wanna lose just a bit, tone up those after-baby lbs. or go for the gold; they can help you achieve your goals.

The employees are always happy and upbeat which makes it very welcoming. However, the gym gets very crowded and alot of the females that go have very poor hygiene. I would like for the pool to be at a cooler temp as well.

Overall, this gym is pretty nice but, just a few things Ive been noticing over the last month:The area nearest the bathrooms/pool area with all of the treadmills smells like mildew/mold or more like a sweaty gym sockThe changing room in the indoor pool area has an extremely pungent mold body odor stench in itThe sauna has a notice posted right outside of it regarding the wear of shoes... most everyone ignores this and wears their shoes in the sauna--the gym staff have been notified face-to-face and basically do not enforce the rule...

The gym is OK it has everything you need and an indoor pool which is awesome, my problem is the men’s bathroom and the pool area are always dirty!. It’s really disgusting, I don’t understand why they don’t clean and maintain the bathroom and the pool area.If you’re Interested in this gym take a tour of the bathroom and the pool area first, you’ll see what I’m talking about.

Not clean and it stinks. I prefer the one on Yosemite but sometimes due to my schedule I will just come here for the classes that I miss at the other gym. Also the one on Yosemite rd don’t have stair master which sucks that mean the next closest gym to me is again you guys.Most of all I Hate the daycare! Out of all the rooms that daycare should be one of the cleanest. Lord, does that daycare stink so much. Once you walk in you can feel the nasty 🤢 filthy air in that room. Feel sorry for all the kids. All the kids in there look sick every time. I’ve only brought my 2 year old a couple of time to that daycare and every time I do he always gets sick or catch a cold. Smh 🤦🏻‍♀️There’s just so many bad things I can say about this gym. Not all equipment work. Waste of money.I like their Zumba class depending on who is the instructor. I believe one of them is Alajandra if I’m not wrong, who teaches on a Thursday, Her class and music is fun but to me it seems like she only interact and acknowledge with her own Race they would always speaks in their language and it makes you uncomfortable because you don’t understand what is going on. You just stand there looking awkward and waiting for the music to start. What bothers me the most is the Latino girls (just some, not all) but the ones that always fight for the front rows annoys me so much and they are so rude. I remember staying in the front row and this chick coming in way after me tries to tell me Im in her spot. Me thinking ok that’s fine it’s not that serious we are all here for the same thing you know just trying to stay in shape, so whatever I moved over. Then she goes that’s her friend’s spot. She is saving two spots for her friends. So as she was standing in the front she puts one foot over to save a spot and place her bottle water to another spot to save it for another person. I just find this whole thing a joke. It’s ridiculous and instructor don’t care either. I mean we all pay to be here. First come first serve. Everyone should be treated equally.

We love going here. We moved to merced 2 years ago from Fresno so my husband can work in turlock. Merced doesnt have much for kids to do like Fresno does. We chose in shape so the kids enjoy the indoor pool all year long. We swim very often. This gym is clean and the staff are sweet. The only thing I wish was possible is some sort of day pass deal. I have family and friends come to visit often and with rainy days there isnt much to do here but to coop up all the kids in the house. My best friend is a family of 5 with two kids under 6 years old. The day pass adds up with that many people. I wish they can enjoy it as much as we do. Please help. Love this gym either way.

We had to wait 40 minutes before we could sign our kids in which meant we missed that much of our work out. Due to not being properly staffed. No manager on site. could only locate one 15lb kettlebell in the building. What Ami suppose to do with that. Extremely disappointed.

Ive been an avid inshape member throughout my past 10 years or so. I usually have no problems and love all inshape provides. So long as the equipment works, the televisions have closed caption (as im mostly deaf) and they are on the correct stations. For some reason this particular location continues to have problems with just one television. Which also happens to be my go to channel for my workout. It is irritating. As i want to relax and workout. Ive asked staff to fix it for over a month but to no avail. They keep changing the channel and not putting it back to its original posted channel. Im quite tired of talking to the same employee about it as i know im irritating him as well.. Ive never encountered such a problem in other cities ive lived in and attended inshape. Please put tnt (tv #9) station back on as its posted it should be and leave it there. It is showing abc sports.. I hate watching sports. 14 televisions in front of my workout and there are already alot of sports channels on. Why do they keep changing just the tnt station??????

Needed a gym for the day while traveling. It worked. Wish they were near because they were clean, many varieties of equipment were available. They also had an indoor pool.

By far the best inshape Ive been to in my life. If youre a bodybuilder youll love the free weight roo. They literally have everything and the room is huge. If your into cardio theres plenty of cardio machines. If you like circuits then they have a dedicated circuit room. Not 5 star worthy because the dont give towels. You end up sweating all of the place.

LOST A CUSTOMER FOR LIFE. I was a member of Inshape and was visiting a current member. I was looking to pay for a guest pass for the day which is always $7.00 (I have been there many many times). The receptionist up front called over the sales women and she was overly aggressive on selling me a membership. I was not interested and told both the receptionist and sales women that I moving to Fresno in less than one month for grad school and there are NO INSHAPES in the area. She kept trying to BS me the entire time after I clearly stated I was not interested. I was planning on returning to Inshape when I moved back in 2018 but as of now it is not a practical option for me. She then tells me, Ok well than your going to have to pay $13 for the day then. ....What! She escorted us up front and the receptionist asked me for $7 dollars for the guest pass? Thats not shady at all...The sales women wanted to up charge a guess pass! STRAIGHT FORWARD BUSINESS IS THE BEST BUSINESS! Dont BS your past clientele; very unprofessional and very unethical. I WILL NOT RETURN! Horrible Experience!

Love this gym. Spent a hour in the pool, very relaxing.

First off, this gym has its pros and cons but the positives greatly out weigh the negativity. Ill just get the negatives out of the way. It gets very crowded at times and tends to stay crowded for a long time. People do not put weights back in the proper place which is frustrating. The staff and facility really cant monitor that all the time which is understandable. Another complaint is that the Glute isolator machine in Atwater is so much more accommodating for those with short stature, Ive tried both g st machines and they do not measure up. Having said all this, these are all minor issues. One of the biggest issues is that the bathroom needs better up keeping. Too often it is not clean enough. Despite this issue I will still go to this location.Now on to the positive! I really like the variety of this gym. Seriously, from all of the group classes, to the cardio arena, to the weights/free weights this place has something for everyone. Anyone who is serious about their fitness and/or bodybuilding and/or weight loss should be going here. The 29minute circuit room is nicer than other local options as well. The pool here is decent size as well. Majority of the staff are very friendly and welcoming.Overall a fantastic gym and awesome variety.
