Instead of them checking your car and finding oyt whats wrong with your car, she wants you to put it on a card that you have to fill out with your vehicles information then she calls het husband to give you a price. Its too congested and its a bad area

Very rude and unconcerned staff, only wants your money. You pay them for a diagnostic just so they can tell you it’s your motor and transmission. I will never be going to this shop again and wouldn’t recommend anyone else to!

I Brought my 2001 Escape in this morning with a charge/Alt light popping on and off. I ordered a alternator for it knowing that the battery was fine. Hurray!! They did a complete diagnostic on vehicle. And stated that both battery and alternator were fine and they checked all connections they couldnt charge me for a installation that I did not need. I only give my regards to mr. And Mrs. ThongWould recommend them to anyoneThank you again Ive used you several times and Ive been completely satisfied

Reliable ÷ The owner is an expert. I have the most respect for Mr. Thong and his family. I have always been able to trust his judgment, as in the past I would look up prices and estimates and he has never been a penny over. Very fair with prices and service. The most of all RELIABLE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. I have not needed him in a while but hes where I would go.

Took my car in for wheel barring hub replacement they did an excellent job on my car and for a great price. My car runs smooth the staff is nice and honest all the mechanics are honest and know what they are doing I found my new shop for car repairs. Thongs is the place if you are looking for a great place for car repairs thongs is the place to go.

Well I cant give them less than less than 2 stars because they didnt actually do any repairs on my car. I took my car to them when it broke down from some kind of transmission problem. They had it for a few days then told me that I needed to replace my transmission and it would be $1600 to do so. They couldnt tell me specifically what was wrong with it, just that I needed a new one. I immediately took it from them to a Ford dealership (should have immediately, just didnt think to at the time) for a second opinion. Turns out it was a common problem with my type of vehicle and got it fixed FOR FREE by them. Im just really glad I didnt trust Thongs right off the bat, because I would be out $1600+ right now!Moral of this is to always get a second review. I dont know if they just honestly didnt know what the issue was and gave up, assuming it just had a bad transmission, or if they were trying to pull one over on me. But either way, they were wrong. Thats why the low rating.

Took my car there, paid deposit to start work, he told me, car would be ready in a week, checked back he told me one more week, 3 weeks later, he never touch my car, got my car and took it to a professional shop, did get refunded my money, but waisted three weeks of my time.

Friendly, excellent service! I was contacted promptly and quoted prices. When I went to pick up my truck, it cost me less than I was quoted! I will definitely return.

Got my car in the shop because of leak and car not accelerating normally. They told me I needed a new engine. Got a new engine ran but did the same thing. Brought it back. Told me I needed a new trans. They put it in and it ran for an hour. Did the same thing where it would rev and not accelerate. Brought it back again. Payed for towing twice when it wasnt my fault. Left a dent on my hood and fender saying it wasnt their fault. Never coming back again.

Its a little family run business. Ive been to Thongs many times, he is thorough and cheap. He has an amazing skill to troubleshoot the real problem in your car within no time.Dont get fooled by the appearance of place. Thats how it looks like when people are working hard.If it is broke, save yourself some time, hassle and money, go to Thong first.

Mr Bui is a TRUE mechanic. I have a 2005 Nissan Altima. One of the hoses or compressor, something in that vicinity started to leak. Memphis has really hot summers so I needed A/C & needed it bad. I took my car to the Nissan dealership twice and the A/C would work a week or two and go out again. All they were doing was changing the hose(s) and then shoot some Freon in it, not truly fixing or finding the root of the problem as they are technicians. Technicians mainly just replace parts versus any real troubleshooting. Someone told me about Mr. Thong so I thought it couldnt hurt to try him out. He totally fixed my A/C! Turns out the A/C compressor was bad and the main source of the leak. He replaced it and theres a 1 year warranty on the part so Ill be able to stay cool next summer in case something happens. His staff (family) were very nice and his prices are reasonable.

Not good service...I took my car to get a oil change I honestly think they didnt give me a oil change bcuz my oil light were still popping on and when I checked my oil it were very low...They cant never get my business never no more 😥

The price is pretty low. At the same time, you will certainly get what you paid for. I took my vehicle back and noticed lots of dust everywhere inside my vehicle .Another issue is the time they took to repair. The owner estimated two days for my repair and I also called several days before sending my vehicle in. However, it finally took five days and I have to keep change my schedule and plans. When I complained it a little bit, the staff there got mad. I did not get the rationale.

I have taken my cars to thongs auto on n. cleveland many times. several cars. now, i have need of a timing belt. guess where im going? thongs auto! this man can diagnose an engine without fancy equipment. only the best mechanics can do this. dont be fooled by the building. it doesnt mean anything to thong. only the work area. he is a very fine man, as well!

Thong is not a nice guy I gave him Couple of hundred to by parts fix my car he bought parts from the junk yard to go in my fuel tank he told me after I question him...the car ran one day then broke down again my husband tried to talk reason with him that didnt work he offered us no money back or no fix it right then told us to get off his lot or he will call the police...then he said take him to court...he treated us like dogs after he robbed us of our hard earned money!

No warranties on parts they TELL you to purchase, no warranty on labor and honor their estimates when they feel like it. The customer is not right here....you must endure being yelled at and hung up on to make sure you get what you asked and paid for.

For small repairs I might recommend them, for complex things, I say stay on the safe side and use a reputable company. They lack attention to detail and the professionalism you look for when youre spending a lot of money.

I took my truck to him to see if I need a tuneup, but my I add he already had price the labor over the phone of 150 and told me that the problems that my happen after my tuneup gets complete. He test drove my truck and told me it was something else and it would only cost 30 dollars. My mechanic for life

Mr. Thongs Auto has done a lot of work for me over the last couple of years, but this time he really takes the cake. I have a big problem with my Jeep that is going to cost quite a bit of money to fix. Mr. Thong is working with me as far as paying goes. I know of no other auto shop that would do that. Hats off to Thongs Auto Repair!

The asian woman at the front is rude and stoic. When confronted about damage to my car, she denied it. She knows that she can do this in Memphis and get away with it. If you are in a crunch, they can do the work, just make sure you check your car before and after.
