The ladys name was Chris and she was extremely friendly and helped me with a very important document.

I had the occasion to speak with two agents, both were extremely pleasant, knowledgeable and professional. This is important to me since I changed companies after 30 years due to a rude encounter. An added bonus was he saved me a great deal of money; If you are in the market for insurance I suggest you contact them.

BEWARE, Chris took it upon himself to pull a hard credit inquiry without my permission when i was looking for information on mortgage rates for a refinance. He apologized, and stated he assumed it was ok, but what gives him the right to view my personal financial information without permission. This is not only unprofessional, it is a violation of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

My wife and I worked with Chris and his team for more than a decade. He was integral as we started our family, helping us set up 529s for our children, sorting out insurance options (life, car, renters and, then, homeowners policies), and giving us financial insight when questions arose.He and his staff were always professional, courteous, and took the time to make sure all our questions were answered. He builds relationships with his clients for the long-run. The only reason we left when we did is that we moved out of state and started working with another agent local to us.I would highly recommend his office to anyone in need in the Cleveland area.

Edit: This review is referring to exactly what happened when I went to this office. Chris winklemam called my fiance to the office to talk about life insurance. I went with her that day and he was hitting on her right in front of me talking about how she should make him her beneficiary. This was the most unprofessional and uncomfortable meeting I ever had to sit through. Disgusting. Cancelled insurance he will never get any of my familys business again. I was never a customer of state farm, but trust and believe I never will be after this. Im not calling so you could get to the bottom of it the facts are right here in my review.

Chris and his team are amazing. I live about 3 hours from their office but choose this State Farm office because they are the best. I do everything over the phone/email and they are always quick to respond and are never late when we make a call meeting time. Some insurance companies will just give you the price and move on. They don’t go into what insurance really fits you and your family. Chris and his team really go over what’s covered and makes sure you have what you need and aren’t paying for things you don’t. They are never pushy and allow you to make educated decisions. I recently added life insurance and wasn’t sure how much I needed. I was referred to Chris by a family friend about opening an IRA. After an exceptionally easy and pleasant experience opening one, I researched switching my home and auto insurance to State Farm as well. There was never any pressure to switch, which I really appreciated. I was provided the information I needed to do an apples to apples comparison, saved some money and improved my coverage when I decided to to switch. I ended up having to put a claim on my home owners less than a month after switching, but had zero problems doing so. Chris, Will and the rest of the staff have provided top notch service each and every time I contact them. I am thoroughly pleased with the products they offer and the service I receive.

Chris Winkelmann was recommended by a friend but I was hesitant to even get a free quote—I hate change and had the same insurance agent for 25+ years. We were building a new house so we decided to price out our insurance. Not only did the Winkelmann Agency offer the best pricing but it was also the best experience. Chris, and the rest of the staff we worked with, laid out our options and made some recommendations but we never felt pressured or like we were being over sold on anything. We would recommend to anyway just to call and see what they can do for you.Also, unfortunately we have had a couple auto claims. Everything went extremely smooth and we really appreciated the help Chris and his staff gave us in walking through the process and working with non-local State Farm contacts to get everything taken care of.

Stay away from State Farm. I had been with them 30+ years. I had 2 accidents close together about two years ago both not my fault. The second accident was when a semi truck was in my lane on a snowy two lane road and so I swerved and totaled my CIVIC in a ditch - a witness confirmed this in the police report). Because this was my second accident, State Farm doubled my car insurance on one of my cars. When I talked to Chris (my agent) about this, he actually told me I should have hit the semi - then the semi driver would have been at fault (he really said that). Then just last month (two years after it happened) State Farm told me they were doubling the rate again on a car that I bought and that they had insured for 6 months - and there were no new claims - it was just due to the other accidents two years ago. On top of that my 18 year old son just got his first car. Even with good student discounts, they were going to charge him $2900 a year (thats $8/day) for a high school student to drive to school and work. State Farm wanted to take most of his income. So, I went to Progressive and they are saving me a lot of money - including 2000 a year for my son. Again I say - stay away from State Farm.

We have been with Chris Winkelmann for over 10 years. Chris is an exceptional agent. There are always going to be issues with the nature of what insurance is, if you have a accident. The difference is having someone like Chris that really cares about the outcome for your family. I know that if we ever had an issue, Chris would literally work day and night to get it done for us. Lots of people can get insurance anywhere, but they dont have Chris.

Ive had Winklemann as my agent for a few years. In fairness, I never had an issue until I was in an accident and actually needed my insurance. State farm has been a complete mess. The accident wasnt my fault and the first issue was not having a rental long enough and taking two weeks to get a check for my new car. I filed a complaint with customer service and was basically told if I wasnt happy I could leave state farm. So I called Winklemanns office and told them about my complaints and concerns. Never heard anything back. So I filed another complaint, this time I was told state farm messed up and I had other options to get a check sooner and shouldve had extra days for a rental. A bit late to help. Then I get a text from Winklemanns office, they want to finance my new car. I text back how unhappy I am with their customer service and dont feel appreciated as a customer. They text back that I am valued. Still no call. No apology. Im still fighting with state farm to get treated for my injuries, the whole thing is a mess. As soon as this is over I will be switching.
