Here are the facts.$109 service call fee to show up and access the problem with my clothes washer.... thats fine, service call fees must be collected.tech determined it was a faulty washer lid switch.. yes, the tiny switch on the lid that lets the washer know when the lid is open or closed.i was notified by their NY corp office that the cost of the repair would be. $328.00!!!! after i picked myself up off the floor, i asked them just how much the part costs.. they replied with $25 plus tax. so i asked how much for the labor... they replied with... $275 plus tax and parts comes to $338.oh... but they told me the $109 service call fee would be put towards the cost of repair... how generous.Brandsmart has Brand New washers for less money than that.so, of course i denied their services.i found the part on amazon for $12.. paid an extra $10 for 2nd day air shipping.heres the best part... me, knowing nothing about the inner workings of clothes washers.. installed the part in 18 minutes... the only tool neccessary... a phillips head screwdriver.... my question is... how much would they have charged me if my motor was the problem, or possibly the pump, you know.... a repair that would take longer than 18 minutes????????????
