The good is that once I got in for my oil change, the service was very fast and professional and the prices were fair. I like that they have cameras so you can see whats happening under the hood and under your car and you dont have to leave your vehicle. You just sit in the car while the mechanics get the work done. Overall this is a very good shop and Ive always had good experiences here.The only criticism I have is that the wait to get into a bay can be a little long some days and they dont have the biggest parking lot to wait in.

Went for oil change and belt replacement. They didnt have the belt in stock so they quickly went to a parts store to get one that would fit my truck. Went above and beyond to help me out. Very fast service on both the oil change and belt replacement as well. Ive been to many different locations and this one has been the best all around by far.

A good place to get your oil change done in front of your eyes. My experience wasnt the best but it was okay. Had multiple issues but they stepped up and fixed those issues so hats off to them. Its just the driving back and forth to meet a manager to get my issue resolved is what was. A little painful

Went in for an oil change. Waited about an hour due to backup. When its my turn, I requested oil change and tire rotation. The 1st service guy said ok and I would just have to switch around to the other side for the tire rotation after the oil change. 5 mins later a different guy came over and asked for me to opt out because it wouldnt be fair for the other people who have to wait.So it was fair for me to wait an hour for my turn but not fair for others because i wanted a tire rotation and it will take more of other peoples time and my time?Service techs never asked what kind of service I needed until i got into the bay. Poor planning and poor customer service. If they had pre-planned and told me, I wouldve gome elsewhere. Will not come back to this location anymore.Edit 8/9/21After contacting their CS with the provided info that was responded on my review, I have not heard nothing back. Shows how Valvoline treats their customers. They dont care. No phone call, no email, no follow up, no nothing. Avoid valvoline. Rating changed from 2 star to 1 star.

This place is ridiculous. Moved me down 1 spot because they thought a mazda came before me. I’ve waited for 2 cars to go by already. This Mazda has only waited for 1 car tango through and clearly came after me. They need a better system.

I was impressed with the service at the maplewood shop today. The wait was about 20 minutes before they pulled me in, and the service itself only took about 15 minutes. I found a coupon on their website for 50% off a conventional oil change which brought it from $44 down to $22. Of course, the area that they are able to make money is on the up sells. In this case, I knew the engine air filter needed to be changed, and they informed me that there was a rear marker light that was out.I was able to drive away for $66 which was a value for me considering the couple add ons. Of course I could have saved some $ on the filter and bulb at a parts store, but the convenience and quality service today was worth it!

I was there probably about 20 minutes ago and they are letting people go ahead of me that were came after me… Are usually go to the location in Golden Valley and I have never had any issues with those guys but I will not be coming back I came on my work break and usually I never go anywhere else but the Golden Valley location and I definitely will just keep going there you’ll never see me at this place again

Please do yourself a favor and avoid this place. The first time I received an oil change here was fine. Easy and faster than a dealership. The second time was awful.About 20 miles down the road my service engine soon light came on. I pull off the freeway (luckily into a dealership) and check the oil, which is already completely gone. Turns out they didnt correctly replace the oil filter and it all leaked out.Well, the timing was unfortunate since everything had just closed and I was about 20 miles from home. So I abandoned my car, arranged to be picked up, etc. The dealership where it was stuck fixed the problem and filled it up with oil.While the time of day, circumstances, and our familys schedule that night and the next day made for a real mess, I considered myself fortunate that the cars engine (only two years old) wasnt seriously damaged since I stopped quickly. And mistakes happen, so I wasnt super mad at the seemingly kind technician I had at Valvoline.I did expect to be reimbursed however, and submitted a claim through customer care. The shop manager eventually called and promised to approve a refund of our original service as well as reimburse me for expenses of being stranded and having it serviced at the dealership to fix their mistake. I was satisfied. Then there was no actual refund for quite some time. Several unanswered and unreturned calls and emails later, they reimbursed me for the dealership costs but refused to refund my original service ticket. I really believe this is the least they should do, and the manager originally promised to do so. Im baffled by it, frankly.For the lack of mechanical care, responsiveness, and honesty, I strongly urge you to go elsewhere. (Furthermore, the dishonest manager also managed the White Bear Lake store, so I wouldnt turn to them either.)Baffled former customer.

Waited over 45 minutes to get an oil change

Waited Almost one full hour just to get an oil change. Six guys standing around working on one vehicle while I sat there for 15 minutes and no one’s working on my vehicle. Not professional will not go again

This time the inspection was not explained in detail to me and things that needed to be looked at or repaired last visit were good this time even though the issues were not addressed yet by me or my mechanic. Kind of makes you wonder ???

Ask them to look for a power steering leak, the attendant said oh no real leak sir its just a loose clamp on the filler tank, Wrong!!!!!!!!! Its wet with oil all over under the radiator, plus if you dont have a coupon its way over priced !

Went there today for an oil change and they were closed even though online and the hours on the front of the building said open until 7 pm. Got there at 5:45 and no one was there. Disappointed their hours arent updated.

Been here over 30 minutes and still waiting.....no one has come out to greet me or explain what the hold up is. Worst part is there’s a car behind me so I’m literally stuck....will not return...IM TRAPPED HELP ME....Update...after 50 minutes thankfully the person behind me got so frustrated they left so I was able to back out and leave. Did not get my oil changed...decided to go to Fleming’s BP on White Bear the next day, got right in and the service was great!! I think cheaper also!

Last year i went there a few time, the service was great and didn’t have any problems. Now last two weeks i went there, during the oil change i heard the mechanic hammering something under my car. I just thought it was normal. One week later, i saw a few amount of oil leaking into my garage floor so decided to look under the car and i found out that the guy who did my oil change put the oil pan bolt crooked and forced it through. (Now i know why i heard a hammering noise). They stripped my bolt. I am lucky the oil leak is minimal, but I will never go back there again. In the past i did oil change myself many times, and i can tell you that it is impossible to strip an oil pan bolt unless you would do it on purpose or dont care. Further they keep changing employees very often. you don t know if you will have a bad employee or good employee each time you go. Go there at your own risk! I will not replace my oil pan because i found a solution. However if you would have to replace your oil pan, it would cost around $600 to $900 part+labor

We needed an oil change for my wifes car. Got there and there was no waiting. The service was quick and friendly. As we finish, we notice cars after cars came in and the place was closing in 20 minutes. I hope everyone recieved the same treatment as we did.

I wish that i could give a review on how the services are. But I am currently still waiting for them to be done with the car in front of me. This is suppose to be fast but waiting over 45 mins with one car in the bay is not fast.

I had gone there to get the oil change everything was good I has asked the store manager Joe to make sure everything was done properly and he said everything is good. now Im home trying to change my oil and everything is over tighten i cant take the oil filter off like the oil filter is in pieces and it wont come off I am super pissed off. They need to teach their techs how to do there damn job properly. Never getting my oil change there ever again.

The severity of a $37.00 oil change turned into over $800.00 in repair from inexperienced employees and denial and lack of customer care on the Corporates end with not offering a loaner for the week I was out of a car filing and waiting for an approval of the damages to get fixed. Which they did but a fat lesson learned not to go there ever again!

Short version: They skipped filling up two of my under-inflated tires and followed it up with unimpressive customer service when I called them on it.Long version:I received an oil change on my SUV yesterday. When I was pulling out of the shop, I realized I did not recall seeing anyone check the tire pressure on the driver side. Before leaving the parking lot, I hopped out and checked my own tire pressure. My receipt stated that my tires had been checked and were all 35 PSI, but I found that both driver side tires were at ~18 PSI. Yikes! I pulled back in line and spoke to the manager (Joe) after a few minutes. He halfheartedly apologized and filled my tires to the correct pressure. When I expressed my concern that this mistake causes me to question the accuracy of the rest of their work, the manager downplayed the mistake stating its only two tires. I would argue that two under-inflated tires could lead to vehicle damage and pose a serious safety risk. When I asked if I could receive any sort of coupon or discount on future work since I had already paid for my old change that day, the manager again said Its was only two tires, its not that big of a deal and stated he would not offer me any discount.Yes, mistakes happen; nobody is perfect. But when you make a mistake that your customer catches, its generally good customer service to make it up to the customer with some sort of incentive to come back despite their sub-par work. As it stands, I have no interest in returning to this shop and will take my business elsewhere.

I took my car here for an oil change. After several attempts to open the oil filter, I was told that they couldnt change the oil which I was fine with. I noticed that they added more oil to my car, but I pulled away not thinking too much about it. Next thing you know there was an oil leak which was defintely caused by the attempts to remove the old oil filter. Well it wouldve been nice if I was given a heads up about the leak! Thankfully Jiffy was nearby to fix the leak and perform the oil change. Im definitely not coming here anymore!

First the good things: The staff was great and did a great job. Always courteous and knowledgeable. Nothing bad to say there.Next the bad things: $65 to change my oil (granted I got a little bit better oil but still, that was a little high) I would recommend this to anyone needing good service but there are cheaper oil changes out there. I told a few people about my experience and how much I paid and basically was made to feel not so smart when they told me what they typically pay for the same oil change. This is an area that could improved upon. If the price was around the same as other local places, I would recommend everyone to visit.

I took my Toyota Tundra here. The service was longer than expected, over 30 minutes, which was fine with me because Im the type of person that would drive the distance for great service. During and after the service I was told that my trucks skid plate only had 2 bolts holding it up and that the tech was installing additional bolts. I thank them for helping me address the problem. I drove my car another 5000 miles and decided to take my car to Jiffy Lube this time. First thing they told me was that my truck only had 2 bolts holding it up. I gave the techs at Valvoline the benefit of the doubt thinking that the bolts that they presumably installed could have fallen off during my daily driving, so I went straight to the hardware store, purchased 2 bolts and installed it after my oil change at Jiffy Lube. 2000 miles later the new bolts that I had installed were still there. THIS LED ME TO 2 CONCLUSIONS. 1. VALVOLINE IS HIRING INEXPERIENCED TECHS AT THIS LOCATION. TECHS THAT CAN NOT EVEN INSTALL BOLTS ON A SKID PLATE CORRECTLY. 2. VALVOLINE IS HIRING DISHONEST TECHS AT THIS LOCATION. TECHS THAT WOULD LIE TO THE CUSTOMER THAT THEY ARE MAKING ADDITIONAL REPAIRS TO COVER UP FOR THEM TAKING TOO LONG. As I have stated prior. Im the type of person that would drive the distance for quality service. I would wait longer than I have to for quality service. Im also the type of person that will burn bridges for DISHONEST SERVICE. A WORD OF WARNING TO ALL WHO ARE TAKING THEIR VEHICLE HERE. INSPECT ALL REPAIRS THAT THEY STATE THAT THEY HAVE DONE TO MAKE SURE YOU ARE NOT GETTING BURNED. ESPECIALLY REPAIRS THEY STATE THAT THEY HAVE MADE AFTER A LONGER THEN NORMAL SERVICE TIME. As for me, first and last time I will be going to the Valvoline on Whitebear and Beam in Maplewood, Mn.

If you have an European car, VW, don’t go to these places! Even the advanced full synthetic oil with special filter costs up to 80$ and the oil quality is not as good as the castrol or mobile 1 that used in dealer.I wait 30min and got serviced, not fast either.

They dont communicate well within their team. They told me that they needed me to pay, but they wanted me to test the oil pressure before I pulled out. Its not that I felt I didnt need to pay for the services rendered, but you tell me I can go, then panic when youve finally figured out that you hadnt paid for the services & call in a panic because you didnt offer to correct their haste. Next time they forget to charge me for an oil change, you should just forget about me coming back to pay for it if you cant keep track of whos paid and who hasnt.

Took my girlfriends Jeep in to get an oil change (just too cold to do it myself) These guys were great. In and out in about 20 minutes, didnt even have to get out of the car which was surprising to me (first time ever getting an oil change, always done it myself) was about $45 for the whole thing which wasnt so bad considering I didnt have to do it myself.

I literally called everyday for a week straight and was informed I had to drive up to their doors and wait 45 mins to an hour or more just to be seen. Then the oil change would take another 30-45 mins. Im sorry that I dont have close to 2 hours to spend getting an oil change. I do not recommend this place. I went to a different Valvoline and was seen in minutes and was done in less than 20.

Joe is always great. Oil changes in general aren’t something anyone looks forward to, but I’ve especially disliked them because of the sales pitches and feeling like I’m being told to get things I really don’t need. He doesn’t pressure you and in general is very pleasant to deal with. Thanks Joe and team!
