Solid service and reasonable price for fixing my exhaust system coming undone on Hwy 169 driving down from Duluth. I needed to be in Mankato for a family emergency which was stressful enough; Ron and crew fixed my muffler quickly and professionally so I could focus on family instead of wondering how me and my dog were going to get home. I love this shop. Great up beat attitudes and a good ambiance overall. Ill go to my dealer when I feel its necessary but for routine work I dont hesitate to go here, save money, and get the Mayberry RFD expierence along with great workmanship.

Will not being back. I took my new vehicle here today for a wheel alignment and was told they couldnt do it due to all these problems. Said I needed to get my ball joints fixed immediately and said it would cost over $1,500!!! Its not a long process, and its a tiny piece I can buy for 20-100 bucks for brand new joints. And pay someone way cheater to fix it. I have someone fixing it for me for 300 tomorrow, and all I can say is that I will never come back for any services. Outrageous prices and took far longer than it should have for doing just the inspection.

Great. First time customer. Ron explained what was needed. Gave me a loaner car so I could get things done.The work was done on time.

Ron was awesome, needed a heat blower for my car before the cold winter came out. Dropped it off before class and he waited for me 20 min past close (when my class ended) to get me my car. Price was very reasonable and actually cheaper than the quote. Had a conversation as well with him for about 10 minutes when dropping my car off to get fixed, loves what he does and is very good at it! Will be back again.

Knowledgeable staff, diagnosed the cause of my Ford Tempos problem (fuel pump), allowing me confidence a replacement would solve the issue. They assist with setting up towing, and even finished my repair the same day!

Horrible. I brought my head in to have the injector seals replaced. I had my head there for 10 WEEKS. I was told excuses after excuses... the seals just weren’t coming in said they ordered them and then after 8 weeks tried another company... guess what? Same excuse. I was told 6 dates it would ”definitely” be done. Eventually I had to just take it home and do it myself. Ron’s auto was the only shop who said they could replace the seals which would have saved me the expensive of the pricey tool to apply the seals. HORRIBLE customer service, received no service. This job ended up taking 10 minutes to do I might add (that is after the tool was bought).

Easy to make appointment, he works with your schedule. Fair price. Work is done right. Been going to Rons with my vehicles for 15 years.

Ive gone to Rons Auto Repair for my oil changes and routine car repairs over the past year and half. During this time, Ive been very impressed with Rons team. Theyve always done a great job with my car and have reasonable prices. What I truly appreciate most is how they speak to me about my car. They never try to make me feel dumb or tell me what to do. PostingI took my vehicle in to Ron because my vehicle started to make a loud, obnoxious noise every time I started it. It would then make a loud fan noise and squeal when I pressed on the accelerator. When I took it into Ron he informed me that the issue was the water pump and that this would fix the issue I brought it in for. I told him to go ahead a fix it then if this would fix the noise. When I went to pick it up the next day, I paid the bill and jumped into my vehicle. I instantly heard the obnoxious noise when I started up my vehicle. Confused because this issue was suppose to be fixed, I went back inside to let Ron know. He took it back inside the shop and said he had made a mistake and missed the cracked manifold as the issue. I was upset because I had just spent a pretty penny to get this problem fixed the first time and it didnt even get fixed and he told me that I had to fork out the same amount I just spent to get the issue resolved. After disputing for a while he agreed to fix the problem, but told me I had to pay for the part. I agreed to this and asked how much the part was going to be. He told me $300, so I said I would look into this and get back to me and he said okay. After looking into the part at NAPA, they informed me the part would only cost me $160 to fix. Upset that Ron was trying to bump up the price, I called him. I have called him for three days now leaving messages and he still has yet to call me back. I believe this is very unprofessional. I believe in small businesses and paying for quality work, but the fact it was his professional opinion that told me the issue would have been fixed the first time around and wasnt made me feel like he was trying to take advantage of me.

I bought a 1931 Model A in Mankato (I live in the St. Louis area) and had Ron do an inspection. I was a little concerned at first - local seller - local mechanic - but I was very pleased with the service. He was prompt and thorough in doing the inspection and communicating with me. After I got the car home, I had some questions and he was very helpful - even after he had been paid!!! I highly recommend Ron and his staff. Bob Hayes

Ron is the most straight forward, honest and capable mechanic I have ever seen!!!My exhaust line and muffler completely fell off. I brought it to multiple shops in the Mankato area who all gave me estimates to replace it that were absurdly high. Ron was willing to bend his own pipe, get the proper parts and do the same job for less than half what anyone else would. All within 1 day!! Ron is straight to the point and efficient. He does the work you need, does it well, and wont try to gut you for as much money as possible. Would recommend!!

I have been a recurring customer at Rons Auto repair, and they have been nothing but amazing to me. I dont know much about car and they always take the time to explain to me what is wrong with my car, how they are planning to fix, and how much it will cost before doing anything. They are very patient with customers and amazing at customer service overall. They always look for what is actually wrong with your car instead of just fixing the symptoms of a deeper issue. They are the typical small auto repair shop who would never screw you over and always look for your best interests. Did not stand behind his quote. I received the same quote from 3 mechanics in the area. I chose the little guy cause I try to support small businesses. My bill was 1/3 higher than quoted. (600 was quote, 900 was bill) Aparantly I paid for him to learn that it takes him longer to do the work because there were factors he didnt know. Good for the next guy that needs to get the same work done. IF YOU QUOTE A PRICE, STAND BY IT.... OTHERWISE, WHAT GOOD IS A QUOTE?

I would recommend Rons to any of my Mankato friends. I had to have a bunch of work done to my car. Not only did Ron get it done in one day. He gave me a loaner car so that I could still make it to work. This was really helpful as I am under 25, so I cant rent a car from a rental car company.

Worst place Ive gone had work done in my head and timing belt, took them forever to get the car back to me and when they did the first time it overheated and had to go back by a tow company, after that they said everything was good and I went to go get my car again drove it a few miles away to get gas turned it off to fuel up and it wouldnt start after I fueled up had to be jump started and then they told me that I would have to get a new battery the battery worked fine the first time I went to go pick it up when it overheated. But I was okay with buying a new battery if that meant my car was all done no problems but less then 300 miles the new timing belt they put in broke and wrecked my newly fixed head, they did fix it free of charge and put in a completely new head and timing belt, but again I got it back and it didnt seem right, after both times I got to take it home I took it to another mechanic and they found problems with how they connected and left some things disconnected like my turbo wasnt wired up right, they even found problems that they thought were safety concerns and recommend I get it done immediately but I didnt hear anything like that from rons, never will go back.

Super poor customer service and service turn around time! this shop held my car for over a month due to losing my original key and causing a security issue after putting the WRONG used car parts on my car from another car . everytime I called, was told excuses after excuses of a return call that I NEVER received in over a month! My car was even sent to another shop without my knowledge. At the end of it all, I wasn’t given any billing adjustment or help with transportation despite the advertisement (that appears to be false) on the company website. I wouldn’t recommend for car repairs as no ethical decisions will be made in your best interest in the event of them breaking your car.

Ron is an old school mechanic who knows the ins and outs of cars and hell always provide you a great deal thatll save you money. Called Rons and went in the next day for a quote - they helped me right away with smiles and even fixed my car, on the spot, in 30 minutes! Did I mention it was only $72?!Great service from a great team, will certainly be returning.

The people were nice and friendly but the service was disappointing.I took my car in for an overheating problem and it turned out to be a problem with the head gasket as I was told. The cost came out to be $1890 due to a number of different things they had to include with the repair (transmission cooler installation kit, cylinder head gasket set, timing component kit and water pump, spark plug, oil, oil filter, antifreeze, a/c belt, power steering belt, and shop supplies). The cost wasnt the problem.The two main problems with my experience there were:1) They left a bolt under the timing belt cover that eventually burnt (or was pushed out) through the cover, leaving a hole.2) The car started to sputter after the repair. Every time I reach 3,000+ rpm or so, this would happen. It makes it difficult to accelerate when entering a highway or even going up steep hills.I took the car back and told them about the problems and was basically told that the hole in the timing belt cover wouldnt be a problem and that the sputtering is a common issue for my car and for me to check to see if there were recalls for that problem.This was really disappointing because although my car wasnt overheating anymore, it now has a new problem - one that didnt exist before I took it in.I would not recommend this place for any major repairs. Maybe for an oil change or something minor.

Very impressed with the honest and straightforward approach. Only fixed what needed to be fixed and actually brought me back and showed me the problem and explained how he was going to fix it. I will be back for any future auto repairs.

I took my pick up to another shop for a leaking differential. After two attempts at getting it fixed, it still continued to leak. I brought my pick up here to Rons, and they figured out what was really wrong and fixed it right. Ive had no issues since. Will definitely come back if I need any other work done on it.

My truck was in for 3 weeks and it still isnt right. 3 plug wires out of 8 were not connected, air cleaner was plugged, and truck is still throwing all kinds of codes after a $1,100 job on the computer replacement. I feel they held back all kinds of information I needed to know about it. For example O2 sensors were bad Cadillac converter was plugged.
