I decided to schedule my unsuspecting wife a couple separate appointments to surprise her with a haircut with Melina and massage with Michelle. We are new to the area and I chose this place based on a few clients recommendations from my workplace.My wife said that she thoroughly enjoyed her experience and that Melina did a wonderful job while Michelle made her feel right at home and relaxed. They even gave her a little sample goodie bag for being a first time client! I think that she would definitely return.

My hair was very dry and damaged and hadnt been cut in a year. Katelyn gave me an expert cut and reconditioned my hair. I love it! This place is the bomb! Its a beautiful salon with all the amenities. I love the little clothing boutique and I bought a new outfit. I will be coming here often...

I had Todd for a color and highlight service. I came in with a vision in mind, but he told me what was best for my hair to not over process and keep it healthy. I am in love with the end result and already pre booked my next appointment!

Erica is the best for my waxing needs. She is so efficient. She is super friendly and warm and makes me feel really comfortable. Every time she does an excellent job with my brows, knowing how to make them look great without any instruction.Tan spa is also my go to spot if I ever want to go tanning. They have a variety of beds, and I have never had an issue with waiting for a bed when I needed one.It is always super clean, and all of the front desk staff at Studio Z/TanSpa are super nice and friendly. I’ve never had a negative experience here.

I had a 30 minute massage. He did a great job getting to tight muscles/knots in my back and working on those areas. I felt great afterwards. I could feel the tightness being massaged out and released. This was after having tight areas that were causing me a lot of discomfort for two weeks prior.

All the staffs are so amazing, and the service was exceptional. The product I bought here was of good quality. It was so effective and not too pricey. I was so pleased and satisfied with the outcome. My hair now looks brilliant and shiny after the treatment. I would come back here to pamper my hair. Thanks!

Samantha cut my hair about 2 weeks ago and I love it!! I cut a lot off my hair in the last year so I have been playing around with short haircuts that help me feel empowered and she did it. I will absolutely come back to her for her customer service, knowledge and understanding my haircut needs ❤️

Maggie does an amazing job with my hair. Sometimes I just tell her to do what she thinks is best and every single time she nails it! I haven’t let anyone else touch my hair! I have let a couple others touch it over the last 20 years and I have to go crying back to Maggie to fix it! I always joke she would have to move if I ever moved! The salon is always clean and the staff is always great to work with. Don’t hesitate to make your appointment with Studio Z and get that fresh summer color with Maggie.

I got my hair partially highlighted several levels brighter than my base tone, within 2 hours of arriving. The highlighting process was very professionally done by stylist Samantha, who was inviting, warm, and very knowledgeable about her work. Definitely one of the best experiences Ive had at a salon in Madison - Ill be going back.

I have been going to Studio Z for all hair dying/corrections, I have been able to work with the talented Maggie. She has done some great work, fixing one of my personal hair mistakes and got me ready for my best friends wedding. Then I have gotten custom colors from her that have always blown me away. From vibrant oranges and reds. And from blue grey to a white blonde. She is great for color corrections and just provided the best services overall and exceeds the color vibrancy I have ever experienced from a stylist.

Maggie is fantastic. She has been doing my hair for years. She takes the time to listen carefully to what you want and is an outstanding, knowledgeable and talented stylist. The salon is clean and the staff are all very helpful. On a side not— During Covid, Studio Z has taken the safety of their staff and clients very seriously and I feel very safe going there.

My daughter had her hair cut and styled and had a two tone coloring. Her stylist was Stephanie and she went above and beyond with the cut, style, and dye! She was great and Id recommend her and studio z in a heartbeat. 🥰

Needed a new place to go tanning since I moved to the monona area. This is such a beautiful Salon.Very Mediterranean spa vibes. They have so many services they offer. lots of good quality products for retail. Woman at the front desk that helped me was very nice and professional. Look forward to returning and getting other services done too.

I recently started going to Studio Z and Maggie and absolutely love it!!! My daughter referred me to Maggie knowing that I was unhappy with my coloring with my current stylist. Maggie took the time to discuss my concerns, analyzed what my hair needed and proposed a plan of action. I was so pleased with my color, softness and shine that I will never go anywhere else and that is saying a lot because I live In Rockford, IL. Believe me it is worth the drive. In fact my younger daughter and now my mother see Maggie. Highly recommend Studio Z and Maggie!!!!

I’d like to start off with saying that I enjoyed my time at the salon.I came into studio Z salon with Pinterest photos and a general idea of what I wanted. I specifically chose them because I seen pictures of their work on Google demonstrating this type of hairstyle I wanted. I contacted the studio and went in for a consultation. I told my hairstylist that I wanted to do the peekaboo holographic coloring with predominant purple. I was informed that it would be expensive and that she could do it. I was very excited and she seem to be as well. I came back a few weeks later for my appointment. I realized that it wasn’t exactly what I wanted for coloring but it looked beautiful. When I got home and started playing with it I realized that when I parted my hair and a half to put it up you couldn’t see the color. The point of peekaboo color is that you’re able to see the color when you put your hair half up.So I called the salon back the next day. And explained that the peekaboo color wasn’t high enough on the back of my head to be seen when I part my hair and a half. I asked what the cost would be incurred in order to fix this.Now please understand I realize that there would be a cost incurred with correcting the mistake. On the other hand I did not expect them to tell me they wanted to charge me a whole Nother session to fix their mistake. Mind you I paid $240 for the first session with a $40 tip. Though I appreciate the work and the outcome in general. they did make a mistake and clearly aren’t willing to work with me to fix it. I am very disappointed with the customer service offered at the salon. I would not recommend the salon to anyone I know due to the disappointment with customer service and follow through.

LeaAnn is fabulous! She listens to her clients, discusses things with them and then executes and delivers. She takes the time to show clients new techniques & hairstyles, and how to do them ‘at home.’ She also does my 17YO daughter’s hair. She has a positive and fun personality. I highly recommend her.

Maggie was so welcoming and sweet! She listened to what I was envisioning and did a great job informing me what would work best for my hair and gave me great tips to help maintain the style. I was nervous going in to get a new haircut but I felt very comfortable the entire time and love how it turned out. Thanks!

I love Studio Z! I have been to other places for pedicures, but Studio Z is by far the cleanest, nicest, and most professional. Nikki does a wonderful job and I always leave feeling relaxed, with feet that feel great and toes that look amazing.

I was in a lot of pain when I arrived. After 90 minutes my lower back muscles had relaxed and Michelle gave me some tips on stretching and how to sleep better.

Melissa is the best! She is the only person I trust with my long hair, and she always does a fantastic job. I felt very safe with the social distancing they’ve put in place, and everyone is always friendly and welcoming.

I booked a last minute massage but I desperately needed it!The salon was spotless and had excellent protocols in place with everything going on. I felt incredibly comfortable and safe.My massage was AMAZING - it was the perfect blend of tissue work and relaxation. I got exactly what I asked for and I will definitely be going back!

From the front desk to the stylist chair and beyond everyone was friendly, and professional. The place was clean and followed all covid protocols . Had a great experience. My stylist Carlina did an amazing job on my hair from the color, cut and products used. To giving me more tips and information on how to better manage my hair type :).

Can I give 10 stars? Erica never fails to amaze me. I came in with an off-the-wall, difficult request color request. I showed her a picture. The end result on my head was actually BETTER than the picture!Here’s the thing with Erica: She’s brilliant, so she understands the science and chemistry behind her color technique. Couple her superior knowledge and technique with her absolute artistry.When I go to her, it’s like a mini-vacation. It’s an experience. Plus, every time I look at my hair, I do a happy fist-pump!!

My first time to Studio Z Salon. The salon was super cute and clean. They did a great job with the sanitizing and distancing. My stylist, LeeAnn, was very thoughtful and did a wonderful job.

Melina does amazing work! I’ve been getting my hair done here for a few years now and couldn’t be happier. We have switched up my color completely and when I wanted to switch back to my natural dirty blonde color she had no issue in replicating what it once was. Highly recommend!

I have been getting my hair done at Studio Z since I was a kid. Within the last 8 years I discovered a hair angel by the name of Melissa. This woman is by far the greatest hair stylist on the planet. She considers every single hair on my head and always works with my curly hair. I have NEVER left her chair feeling apprehensive about my hair, and have received nothing but compliments. They always fit me in, even at the last minute, and the whole staff is sweet as pie. The price is worth the quality. LOVE YOU STUDIO Z!

Johanna is THE BEST! Ive been seeing her here for years, and she takes such great care of my hair. (Their nail techs and massage therapists are great as well!) Even though I moved an hour away, I will continue to make the trek to see Johanna. :)

If you want a full service Salon that pampers you, treats you as the important client you are, and allows you to regroup and rejuvenate, Studio Z is the place to go. The little extras, like cucumber or lemon or lime water served in elegant glasses, or soda of your choice, and even cookies in pretty jars, is the step above I was looking for. I particularly recommend Erica, my hairdresser. She listens well to what you want and has the talent to bring your vision to fruition. Her cutting technique and color mixing are highly skilled. Her demeanor is pleasant and kind and always upbeat. Have you ever been in a place where your hairdresser talks incessantly or wants you to talk on and on? Ericas not like that. She understands that some of us want our time at the salon to be time to decompress, in whatever way is important to you. For me, its having some me time while my color is processing. Ericas very respectful of that. Because Erica is so talented, her fees are a bit higher than some of the novice stylists at Studio Z, but the price tag is well worth the product. I highly recommend Studio Z and Erica.

I’ve been seeing my hair dresser Maggie for more than 10 years, so when she went to Studio Z so did I. It’s a really nice place. The staff are friendly and warm. Maggie is astonishingly talented. I have taken photos of hair styles or colors I thought I would like to show her and she’s honest and kind about whether or not she think they’ll work for me. She’s always sweet when she tells me her opinions. I’ve watched (and occasionally listened) to other stylists as they work and they all seem to do very good work. I’ve never used any of the other services they offer, so I can’t comment on them. But for hair they get double thumbs up!

Highly recommend booking with Tammy! She knows exactly what I want each time and goes above my expectations every time! Will continue booking with her!!

Have come through this salon many times. They have very beautiful stylists, however I always leave unhappy. They don’t do a thoughtful consolation and my blonde looks gray and dishwater. Love the space they have and really wish I could say I liked it.. I’ve just left crying each time I visit.

Beautiful facility inside and GREAT staff! The spray tan room is VERY unappealing. Its dark, dirty looking and walls and fixtures are stained brown from the chemical tan solution. The booth itself is also dirty-looking on the inside, although it may only be mineral deposits from hard water or salt deposits...not sure just unappealing looking. YIKES, I was so turned off that I am hesitant to return despite the end product (tan) being acceptable. I just felt dirty by being IN the room, it was inconsistent with the experience of the spa outside of the spray tan room.

The staff here is great. Very welcoming. I I was particularly impressed with how great of a job they did on my sons hair.

Incredibly rude owner. Received a service which was less than stellar (whatever, it happens, people make mistakes or are new). What matters is how the business handles and rectifies the mistake. The owner, Karen, prefers to instead accost the customer and LEAVE THE PREMISE rather than try to amicably fix the situation. 1-Star because rather than trying to fix the poorly done service, the owner decided to ghost the customer who was still in the chair.The other incredibly weird thing is that you cannot tip via credit card, it HAS to be in cash, which seems like something Im sure the IRS would be incredibly interested in.

It was my first time coming here to get an acrylic nail that broke off from another nail salon fixed. The rates are higher than little nail boutiques around Madison so I was hoping for a better experience. But...this was one of the most painful nail experiences I’ve had in years. She had to grind down the acrylic off of all of my nails, which she ground down into my actual nail to the point of hurting and kept catching my cuticles. I literally started bleeding at my cuticles and nothing was said about it...she just kept going. You can see in the picture that my cuticles are still torn up the next day.The quality is also not the best either. I asked for pink/white acrylic set, but you can see straight though the pink part and it’s weirdly cloudy. I’m surprised she didn’t rectify it herself right away and offer to paint over it with shellac or something to fix the color when she was doing a shellac top coat anyways... I felt bad for saying anything at this point in the appointment because I wasn’t happy overall and just wanted to get out of there cause my skin hurt so bad.Just sucks because the nail artist I liked and the salon is a nicer place in the Madison area.

Staff has always been friendly and easygoing. Very reasonable pricing considering the great service and work they do. They have gone the extra mile to curl and do basic styling on my hair if I have an occasion the night of my haircut. Good at answering questions about products/etc without being pushy of their own products. The area is always clean and welcoming with infused waters, coffee, tea, etc.

I went in for a consultation to get extensions. I wanted my hair longer for my wedding. I ended up getting a haircut as well. I really didnt want any length taken off what so ever. But I wasnt asked that. So I had about 4 inches taken off, and I didnt realize I had that much cut off until she showed me at the end. Im extremely upset. I know i had damage to my hair but I hate short hair and I hate my hair now. I could almost cry. My hair stylist was super sweet and personable. I liked the experience but I hate my end result and my hair. Im afraid that my hair wont grow back long, as for it hasnt grown in years. Thats partially the reason Im so upset. I dont know what to do. But I absolutely hate my hair.

Im really disappointed that theyre raising the price of the kids haircuts to 25.00 across the board.I have no problem spending a lot on my hair, but my 3 year old doesnt need a fancy haircut. Hes 3.
