I got a haircut from Diane and honestly was one of the best haircuts I’ve gotten in quite some time. Her attention to deal is incredible. She’s got great talent and I would recommend her to anyone. Will definitely come back and see her for my next cut.

Lori was an awful stylist. She was rude, impatient, and for whatever reason did not care enough to give me a proper cut or even clean me up after the cut. I suspect she was hungover, given her curt demeanor and momentary step away because it was quote so hot. I would write a more detailed skewering, but I have given myself more even haircuts and right now my time would be better spent finding a barber who can cover this mess up.

Let me preface by saying; haircuts make me anxious and nervous, Ive had so many bad ones.Today, I was taken care of by Chelsey. She was very kind, and had a very calm, and reassuring demeanor. On top of that, she just gave me a really nice haircut. Its a great fade. She took her time, didnt rush, paid attention to detail, and did a fantastic job. Chelsey; thank you so much!The last time I was here, the hot towel facial, the shampoo, and the shoulder massage was not even offered to me. The stylist I saw last time just gave me a very rushed haircut, then booted me out of her chair.Today, Chelsey offered me everything, the whole works. The hot towel facial, and the shampoo was so relaxing, and so wonderful. A whole day of stress from working and traffic just disappeared, I almost fell asleep in the chair! And because I was offered the shampoo, I ended up being introduced to a fantastic conditioner, and I bought a bottle of it so that I could use it at home too.This experience today was totally and completely polar opposite to my last experience. Now I can see why so many men like this place. I would be more than happy to come back here, and would feel privileged to have Chelsey be my stylist again. I went to this place for the first time and I asked for a 1 to 2 fade which is pretty simple. The fade itself doesnt even look like a fade, it looks like just a number ran through and the line up was super jacked! Most barbers put the mirror behind you when they are done so you can see the whole haircut, well she didnt do that and I see why. Pretty disappointed. Will not be going back or recommending to anyone. The worst part is that she is a manager!!

I had an appointment this morning at 930 to get a hair cut, and it I had to get done today. Keep in mind it did snow pretty hard last night, but after leaving early this morning to make sure I got there on time, roughly 15 minutes early I arrived to an empty parking lot. I called several times and eventually had to call a different store and luckily the district manager (DM) was there to tell me they decided to open that location at noon instead. Apparently she could see I was the only appointment but no way to see my phone number to let me know in advance.So heres my problem.1.This is completely unprofessional way to run a business.2.If they deemed it unsafe for their employees to go in why did they think it was ok to not inform their clients who could be making a similar drive?3. If I was truly the only client that morning and the DM was at this other location across town why couldnt she come across town to fill in for the one appointment that morning?4. If the DM can see Im the only appointment that morning why couldnt she also see my number? does that mean they put my name on an electronic calendar and not my contact info?5. They asked me to come in again at noon. SO, I have to make the drive twice when they didnt feel safe enough to make it once? Sounds fair and reasonable....6. Between waiting and 2 round trips to get my hair cut I will have wasted nearly 2hrs. Not including the actual haircutThis company has disrespected me and my time. Seriously pay extra money somewhere else where they will actually give a damn.

The barber didnt communicate. He didnt even say his name. I mentioned I wanted to go short on the sides, and he went straight to work before I was done talking. He never asked for a specific length, and it bugged me. He shaved my sideburns without ever asking me what I wanted to do with them or how long I wanted to keep them. And when we got to the top, I told him I wanted half an inch off. When he was done with that, I said maybe go shorter, another half inch. So in total, 1 inch off. But it ended up being a lot more than that. When I walked in, my hair was long enough to extend down to my nose. Now, it barely comes down from my hairline. I must have lost at least 3 inches, maybe 4. I loved having it long on top, and now its ruined. When it does finally get long enough to cut again, maybe in 8 months, I wont be going here. They dont communicate or listen.

Probably the best place for a mens haircut in Madison so far, in my experience. You get a shampoo and hair wash too. Just remember to carry cash because there is an extra $0.75 surcharge for using the credit card.

Came by after my SO (identifies as male) suggested I do for an undercut touch up. This place has private cubicles for each hair station, TVs, and snacks in the lounge area. Why aren’t more female-oriented salons this awesome? I’ve only had good experiences for both walk ins and scheduled appointments for a really nice price (again, compared to salon/spas I’ve been to in the past). I intend to come here exclusively from now on. Highly recommend!

I had a horrible hair cut from great clips and I went here right after to see if they could at least turn it into a manageable haircut with what they had to work with. It was so messed up from great clips that I didnt think they could fix it. A buddy of mine recommended Ka and I was extremely satisfied with the results. It was a blessing in disguise because she saved the day with a haircut that I never had before and it turned out really well. Now its my new style and I will definitely be returning. The head and back massages with hot towel are a plus too!

After receiving sub par haircuts my entire life from sports clips and cost cutters, I finally took a recommendation from a coworker to try the barbershop, Cat in particular. CAT IS AMAZING!!! She has transformed my hair and is the best hair dresser I have ever had. I am typically not one for small talk while getting a haircut, but she always has very entertaining stories! I am not one to write reviews, but when I saw someone throw shade at Cat I was appalled.... I recommend Cat to all my friends and family. Cat will elevate your hair.

My bad experience is made up of two parts. I called the shop to make an appointment, the guy who answered my call did not have any sense of customer service or professionalism. He just rushed me and was impolite. A sticker that displayed all the available services that were included with the haircut was hidden from my sight while I was having my hair cut, but the woman cutting my hair only offered to shampoo my hair - nothing else. LOL. I was shocked how they treated me and how bad my haircut was.

If you know exactly what you want you can probably get a decent haircut here. They do take walk-ins, but it can also be quite busy at times. You should expect to get a haircut, wash with hot towel, and massage for $17(price raised to $19), if you use a credit card its 75 cents more. Of course you can choose to skip some of that if youd like. You also get a TV to watch if youd like, and youre walled off so its a little more private.The first time I visited this location I was pretty pleased with the haircut, except that she made my sideburns quite noticeably uneven. This wasnt a huge issue as I have trimmers and it took seconds to fix...but also something youd expect not to be overlooked. The second haircut(different barber) turned out decent, didnt hate it, didnt love it...but Im also figuring out what style Id like. The third one wasnt a great experience, this barber didnt ask enough questions to understand what Id like, then proceeded to put gel in my hair at the end without asking and styled it completely different from how I had it. It took multiple washings of my hair to get all the gel out...Im thorough enough with washing, but noticed some strands each time a while after that still felt sticky with gel.

Ive had excellent haircuts from here and pretty decent ones as well; I have never been displeased though. Just got trimmed by Shannon, she did a great job! Looking fly and feeling alright, felt like I should finally leave them the five stars they deserve. Complimentary coffee, peanuts and back massages, cool staff and good vibes keep me coming back.

What really makes this place special is that atmosphere is beyond friendly and everyone is upbeat and happy to help with whatever you come in for. Unlike some places that mainly focus on their numbers as opposed to the quality of the cut and care to its customers; the barbers here treat you like a person, giving each client their own individual time. You can clearly see this though their haircuts and how everyone leaves with a smile.My first time here I met with Kerri and since then I’ve been coming back monthly and requesting her because of the spectacular job that she does. She pays close attention to detail at all times and is the most friendly person you could ever meet! Great place for a haircut and all the amenities one could ask for for one low price. No gimmicks, no sales, just all you need for a good haircut and get cleaned up feeling great. I get a high and tight military cut so Im there every 2 weeks, and they do a great job at lining up and blending it. I recommend this place to anyone that asks for where to go for a haircut. And not to mention the stylists, theyre great and very personable!

Just stopped in for another beard trim at the barbershop on Lien, top notch as always. Crystal did an amazing job making sure it was even on both sides, did some extra work on my mustache when I asked for it. Very helpful and friendly; excellent customer service overall. My stylist always does a great job and gives me a great shave. They have TVs at each chair, and your barber/stylist will let you watch you want. Haircut comes with shampoo, hot towels, and shoulder massage. I would recommend an appointment; they usually get me in 5 minutes early. Oh yeah, they also have complimentary peanuts and coffee.

Duane does an amazing job! Once you find your barber, pray they stay! He remembers how I get my hair cut and we have some small talk, but very efficient with his time and goes above and beyond to make it a good experience. I’ve been going to him for about a year and a half and haven’t been disappointed yet! They have TVs for you to watch while you get a cut. Most barbers are very personable and make sure you stick to your appointment time!

Go and ask for Amanda! I have been a repeat customer now for almost a year and she gives the best cut this side of the Mississippi, hands down. Also, if you are not sure what you want, just go and she will hook it up right every single time. She prefers being given the reigns to work her magic on an undecided noggin. Since moving to Madison recently I have been struggling to find a place to get my hair cut that Ive been impressed with the end result. Last week I gave The Barbershop a try and was very happy with how they cut and styled my hair. Even better, they trimmed my beard in a way I havent seen it in years!! Awesome Place! Awesome Service! Ill be back for sure!!

I have gone to the stoughton road location many times. I was near this one so I did a drop in. The man that did my hair was in such a rush, it felt like I was keeping him from something more important. He skipped the shoulder massage, when he set me up for the shampoo, he drops me over the sink and manages to leave me in that position for a couple of minutes while he runs off to answer the phone, when he comes back he wets my hair by splashing cold water on my head, shampoos my nearly dry hair, and doesnt even rinse out the soap. Just splashes another handful of cold water on my head and wipes it down with a towel. I am writing this from the parking lot and about to head home to take a shower to wash out the itchy, sticky residue from my hair. I will never come to this location again. Management needs to seriously review their hiring standards.

Our two boy’s both go to the Lien Rd location. Our family always feels welcome the moment we walk in the door. The staff is great, but we have our favorite Shannon is wonderful and really keeps up with current boy’s hairstyles. She is great at listening to what the boy’s are looking for. We have never left disappointed!

They were quick, friendly, and did a good job. I don’t require much for a hair cut being a balding guy with a beard, but they did a great job explaining how beards grow in circles and what to look for to trim it right (which I wasn’t told before). You also get a hot towel for your face, a nice head and back massage, and whatever you want to watch on tv. I will be going back.

My previous barber retired over a year ago and I loved the way he cut my hair! I struggled finding a new place, going to at least a half dozen shops around Madison. Nothing was quite as good. Until recently. I think I have finally found my new barbershop! Falen does an excellent job and I consistently get a good, clean, mens haircut every time. Very good value too. I highly recommend this place!

Ive been going to The Barbershop for over a year now and have never been disappointed with the service Ive received. The staff is incredibly friendly (Falen is always entertaining) but if you dont feel like talking you have the choice of which channel you watch during your cut. After the cut you get a hot towel on the face, a wash and condition and a shoulder massage. Good luck finding that kind of service anywhere else for the price you pay here.

I have been going here for about 3 years. Back when I started going it was great friendly service and good haircut. Now adays it seems just a job shop focus on quick turnover to get more money in. No longer focused on your haircut or what you want done, just in and out.

Best haircut experience in the Madison area. Each stylist has their own personal hair station with its own sink and TV. Includes mustache trim and shoulder massage. A place like this should easily cost 2 to 3 times as much for what you get. Ill never go anywhere else. Definitely go to Falen Benson, shes the best!

The experience is what you want in a haircut first class all the way. They even have peanuts there while your waiting b/c you can never have enough protein. The staff is very professional and accommodating especially when youre even a tad bit late to your appointment. You can never have enough entertainment since theres a TV at every chair. I usually go to Falen but if shes unavailable the rest of the staff is very accommodating squeezing me in with someone else.

This place is legit. My cut is very basic but they always do a great job and its super cheap. A post-cut wash/rinse (with a hot towel on the face) and a quick shoulder massage are included at no extra charge. I strongly recommend this place to any guy looking for a normal dude haircut. All of the stylists are good but I usually wait for Falen...she rules.

Lori is the only person I trust with my hair. The entire experience is top notch - TVs everywhere, a fantastic scalp and neck massage, and one hell of a hair cut. The scheduling process is easy, and Ive yet to meet someone there who wasnt fun to talk to. All for a tenth of the price my wife pays to have her hair done. If they added a hot shave, Id be there every week.

It was an awful experience. I made an appointment for 4:30 and got there at 4:15 just to be courteous. I checked in and there was one other person in the waiting room and another walked in behind me. They both had appointments earlier than me so they of course went first. But then more people walked in and checked in with appointments after my appointment time, one even had an appointment at 5:30, and in total it was about 10 gentlemen and they all got called back before I did and I never even got called. Never have I had such horrible customer service in all my life. Do not go here or you will be waiting for hours.

New transplant looking for a place to get my hair cut and I stumbled across this shop for men. Im a fairly conservative guy in my early 30s and out from behind the counter comes a young girl with purple hair, purple nails, leather pants and a black choker. Immediately I thought this place might be too trendy for me. I was dead wrong. Quinlyn took the time and listened to exactly what I wanted and showed great attention to detail. She went the extra mile by being kind to my daughter who was sitting in the waiting area. Top notch service from a five star barber. I will be going back again.
