I can’t tell you enough how happy I am with this place! I bought a 1984 Pontiac Firebird and had it in a different mechanic shop before I came to Ernie’s! I lost most of my confidence in the other place and with a car like that I didn’t know where to go! I gave Ernie’s a shot and I’m glad I did! Jeremy is a very awesome guy very knowledgeable and takes care of his customers! They are down to the point and more than fair with you! I can’t tell you how great my car is running now compared to what it was after leaving the other shop! These guys are very phenomenal! You’re missing out if you do not take your car to these guys. Needless to say as soon as I got my other car back I had my wife’s car in there right away to get some work done! They git a long-time customer here!
Best place in town for honest pricing and the work done right the first time! Great employees to boot!!
This is the best place to bring your car for repairs. They do not take advantage of their customers. They are a honest business. I have been going here for 15 years. First time I came here my jeep brake light was out, I do not know how to do this, so I asked them do you have time to fix my light, I was expecting a appt, nope he looked at it right then and there, changed the bulb, I asked what do I owe you, he said nothing..Hard to find a good honest business. If you make appt. Generally within a day depending on what has to be done it is repaired.
Good people who on the last visit saved me a fortune by steering me to an engine replacement under warranty by the manufacturer!
I came right in and they took right care of me and a price is right
Bought two tires and had them put on my car very fast service very good service I do recommend this place dont forget to wear a mask
Charged me $204 for the part, that was only a $60 part !!And It only took them 15 minutes to replace it and they charged me $275 total !! Crooks!!!!!Plus they arent that friendly!!
Very nice people....good job and fast.
Great Service reasonable prices and friendly people!!
Got my truck right in. Finding some hard to locate parts for us. Ernies is a great, dependable and fair priced repair shop. Youll like the place!!
Super nice and got the job done quick
Great service, knowledgeable staff, and honest pricing.
Went for a check engine light inquiry. They ran a check, cleared it, and told me if I ever needed any work done to come on by. Very Friendly and Professional atmosphere.
Had oil leak this facility wanted to change out many things and rack up bill to thousands. Not returning did not trust judgement at all.
Always an honest experience!
Great place, fair prices. They treat you great down there.
I am fairly new to the area and went to Ernies Auto Repair to find out why my engine was rattling when I started my car. My check engine light had never come on, I just took it in to get look at because the rattling had gotten worse. Chris looked at it and said it was my timing chain, which is a very costly repair (around $1200). At that time paid a diagnostic fee and for the alleged oil put in motor when he checked it.The next week he fixed the timing chain within a day and when I picked it up everything seemed fine. But when I turned off my car and turned it back on the check engine light came on. I called, went back he reset the sensor. I drove back to work and when I back into my car to leave work for the day my check engine was back on. So I called again and he said he would look and stated that it maybe my sensor but would need a day to look at it again and do some research it. But he would fix the sensor and only charge me for the part and not the labor –this was my first red flag because why would you offer to do that if you didn’t have a hand in what caused the next problem you have meticulously charged me for every little thing you have done to my car up to the point why the break now?A few days later, against my better judgement took it back there, he had it for the majority of the day never called to let me know what the problem was so I called around 3:30pm to check in and he said he lost my number (mind you I’ve been up here 3 times, you have 2 receipts with my contact information). He said that my sensor isn’t broken but “sensitive” all I need to do is get an oil change which I was not due for another few thousand miles, a motor flush and then drive it 100 miles and the sensor should go off (paid $90).I am well aware that I don’t know much about cars but that is pretty ludicrous to think that a light will magically turn off after driving 100 miles. I drove the 100 miles, the light is not off and needless to say they will not be touching my car ever again. I got it looked at again by someone else and the sensor is indeed broken and my educated guess is that they broke it while fixing my chain because I never had a sensor issue until after they touched my car.I would not recommend this place at all!
This place has been a staple business in the Machesney Park community for years. Ernie Ensley was a great man who ran a fair and legitimate business that still stands today and owned and operated by Trickie Enterprise. Who keeps this business Pride and True as Ernies Auto Repair!
Great service. Super great mechanics will be back for few other things in the future.
Great service, Great work in a timely manner! I will definitely go back and recommend to anyone needing car repair!
Service was good got it fixed right away but I think 170.00 to replace an 8 dollar thermostat is a bit much I miss the old days when Ernies was cheap
Great service and customer service
