Management is absolutely awful, kicks out their residents and charges them for their apartments faulty appliances just to replace carpets with wooden floors and bump up the cost of living in said apartments. The office is almost always closed, with nobody answering phones at all, and the manager that is there is extremely immature in handling any sort of work to be done with the apartments and residents. The place constantly changes management and continues to kick people out, charge them extra, and use said money for new flooring.I advise everyone to avoid this place at all costs
Its quiet and offers a pool and gym but there is a 50$ hidden fee for gas
While I have had a few issues here, this place is a great place to live. All of my issues with the apartment have been fixed and the management here continues to get better every day. I signed on for a second year strictly because the workers here are so friendly and helpful!
I’ve used the fireplace almost every night I’ve lived here, my patio is my little escape not only for me but for my cat! Julie is the best property manager I’ve had. We are staying another year!!
The team here is very helpful, its a quiet serene environment. Pool, tennis courts, exercise room and dog park! Maintenance is on top of things, friendly and efficient!
BEWARE!!! If you move here just know not to expect any or minimal return of your security deposit! We only lived in the building for 1 year, the sprayer on the kitchen sink literally fell apart because it was so old and we contacted maintenance we were told to replace it ourselves because the office would charge us more if they had to do it! We lived on the ground floor and we had more bugs in the apartment than on the outside. Because we were on the ground level anytime it rains you are subject to the drain on the patio filling up with debris which causes the water to leak into the living room! Because this happened over the weekend I had to make sure that I cleaned up the water and dried out the carpet so it wouldnt have any mildew or mold issues, I completed a work request online and was told that the maintenance had to come and clean out the drain but they never acknowledged or mentioned anything about the wetness inside the apartment. If youre looking for an apartment just look around, it looks decent from the outside but sometimes things are not what they seem!
I am a new resident at Maple Ridge Apartments and I love living here. The apartments are clean, spacious, and well laid out. Having a real wood burning fire place is a huge perk and makes my apartment feel very cozy. I love the attractive building exteriors and the landscaping. The location is serene and quiet and parking is plentiful. Neighbors have been pleasant (and not at all noisy) and the rental associates are awesome...courteous and responsive to your needs. I drink my coffee in my office (spare bedroom) each day while watching the sun rise to burn the mist off the James River. It is a great start to my morning! If you value a quiet retreat, with great service and amenities, Maple Ridge is the place to be.
March 2020: The NEW maintenance staff is great and handled the issue we had immediately and was very sympathetic! First time I felt listened to. Head of maintenance was very professional and worked with my hard 3rd shift work/sleep schedule! He even made sure that any chemical wouldn’t hurt my pregnancy and told me what would hurt pets so I could keep the cat away from it. :) This new maintenance leader is the best thing to happen to Maple Ridge apartments in forever and many tenants who we know here would agree.
I very recently moved into Maple Ridge and I must say the transition has been easy and peaceful. Sheryl was with me every step of the way. Lines of communication were/are open and she was always very easy to get in touch with. James was very kind and funny and made signing all of the paperwork an enjoyable experience. This community seems quiet and clean. And the affordability can not be beat not with all these amenities. I appreciate the attention I received and I would recommend this community to anyone.
Do not rent these apartments. Our apartment smelt like cigarettes and marijuana all the time. There was already plenty of damage to the walls and carpets before we moved in and it got deducted from our deposit from renters before us. Overall very disgusted with Maple Ridge and Id never reccomend it to any family. I moved to a way better apartment complex and paying the same price. Lower your prices Maple Ridge for the condition of your apartments.
Best apartment management team and maintenance I have ever experienced. Amy and Phyllis are wonderful and will accommodate almost any request. Glen and Brian (maintenance) are two of the most efficient and friendliest staff I have had the pleasure of knowing. I am a one year resident and have just renewed my lease. I couldnt imagine being anywhere else. Thank you for letting me part of your family!Axel
Worst place we have ever lived you will regret it
Final Review:I had to move out pretty quickly in the middle of my lease as I got a job in Missouri. James made the process pretty simple and easier on me. The neighborhood is mostly quiet since its kind of out of the way. Sheryl and James are also good people. Go and talk to them if you have issues. I enjoyed living there as a whole. If you have dogs this is the place to go. I live here for 4 years and it wasnt bad. The price was still fairly reasonable. The new management definitely made some improvements in the community. That did come with some hiccups but we were able to get those things worked out eventually. I reserve 5 stars for perfect and 4 for pretty good. This place is pretty good.
We love Maple Ridge we just moved at the beginning of January ! James is so good at what he does and is so understanding and met all of our needs we wanted for our family that is soon to begin in June!
Our family has lived here now around one year and we are happy to say that the maintenance team is quick to respond and very helpful when you have a problem. Amy and Phyllis have become good friends as they go out of their way to be kind. They can make our day by their friendliness and a free cup of coffee! My husband and I are raising our first child here and are very happy to say that we feel safe and and enjoy the community. We have quickly made some friends here and like the monthly events here as we gather with friends.
We love these apartments. Very affordable & convenient. Was in ready to move in condition complete with kitchen appliances,& window blinds. Water is paid for. Great gym & pool. Trash & mail boxes are close. Big plus- animals are allowed for a nominal monthly additional fee.
I have lived here for about 12 years with my two children. My children and I love the area and the community. The management we have now is the best that has ever been here. The maintenance men are very quick and efficient. It is a great place for kids and pets. We have an excellent school district. We also have a great fitness area that is well taken care of as well as the pool and tennis area. We also have great places to walk. This is where my children and I call home and dont plan on leaving anytime in the near future. Thank you management and maintenance for providing my family such a great place to live.
James was really helpful in the process of getting my wife and I moved in to our new place, totally recommend moving to Maple Ridge Apartments.
I lived here for a year and actually loved it! the community was amazing management was friendly also whenever i had any problems maintenance would take care of it the same week or would make an appointment the next week and they resolved every issue Immediately. the pool was always clean, and was never packed. i love this place nice, quiet, friendly enviroment i would live here again but the rent was too expensive but i would recommend it because its worth it.
This is the best apartment I’ve ever lived in, hands down. The staff at the office are always so friendly and accommodating, maintenance is great, and the community is welcoming and quiet. 10/10.
I recently toured this property and was so pleased with how friendly the staff was. I totally would have loved living here but decided to buy instead. They were so nice to my dog and made me feel very welcomed
Ive lived at Maple Ridge for almost a year, and I love it. When moving in I had a few requests that where handled right away without any issues. Both Phyllis and Amy are very nice and helpful when needed. I think its a great place to live!
I have lived here almost a year and havent had any problems. James the new leasing manager is very kind and helpful. I must add that when I moved in, my water and trash was included, now we have to pay. Otherwise I am very satisfied.
I had a rough year last year, and this company was very understanding in every aspect. Im glad that I found a home at Maple Ridge while this transition was going on. It has been a blessing meeting Amy and the staff there are very sweet. Thank you again for everything you have done for me during my stay.
My sister, Judy and I love living here like it is home. It is beautiful, comfortable, peaceful. Residents become friends, our pets makes friends with the other residents pets, Amy, our manager, Phyllis, assistant manager plan events, fun things for the us and the children. Maple Ridge is the best apartment complex we call our community because this is how it feels here. Amy always has her door open to you if you need to talk to her. I was told by one of our residents, they were bragging on how wonderful Amy was when one of our residents was having a baby and Amy checked on the resident and our new addition, a baby girl. A smile, a kind word, goes a long way and our manager, Amy does that for us. She has a gentle heart and she truly cares about her residents. Please, if you want not only an apt. but a home you can have a friendly comfortable place here at Maple Ridge apts. My sister, Judy and I have been here for 10 years and hope to have that many more living here in this nice friendly community, Maple Ridge apartments.
I just moved out of here and im pretty glad I did. There are many issues with this complex and if your bring them up too much they pretty much ask you to leave. The management is not bad but i was there for 6 years and saw the management change four times. Maintenance was great until glen got hurt and left then it was taken over by lazy people who swore at you behind your back and aggravated your dogs when they come to fix something (have that on video!) theres a dog park but i brought my dogs there a few times and there were ticks raining doen from the trees above and people were not picking up their dogs waste and it doesnt seem like management wanted to do anything about it. I will say its not a bad starter apartment for someone but Its not overly great. Pay a little extra and get something much better.
I love living here. The Management is very helpful. The Maintance men are great also. The grounds are really nice. And clean. Flowers, trees and bushes. There are 2 dog walk areas and they have the bags for us to use for free. My dogs love walking here. Also a very nice play area for the kids.
We really loved this area! It is tucked away but right off Rivermont, but close to downtown, the hospitals, and the expressway. Management is friendly, professional, and helpful. The only reason we left is that we bought a house, otherwise wed still be there!
Glad to see new management taking part in making these apartments worthwhile.
What a truly wonderful place! If we didnt need more room, the wife and I would still be there! Great environment for children and pets as well. From beginning to end, our rental experience was smooth and handled very professionally. Amy Gutierrez was always on top of her game and made us feel welcome even when we were needy. If something was wrong or broken the situation was handled within a matter of hours. All of the staff are excellent. I cannot recommend Maple Ridge enough.
The assistant manager, Phyllis is extremely helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable! Shes made the whole process of moving in easy and stress free!
It is an awful place now it was a wonderful place until the new property company took over I reported having mold in my home two months ago they sent out a contractor who came and looked and said yes it’s mold will send the company a estimate and will be in to fix it that never happened I have epilepsy and there has been a light that is shorting out outside of my home on the building that strobes that has been going on for over a month that has not been addressed either
They have specials online, but when you go to inquire about the specials, they claim that the website is wrong and that special isnt being ran at the time. They sent us a bill to replace carpet for over $800 to replace carpet that did not even try to clean, and stated that you could see the print where to sofa was located. Only 4 days of receiving the bill, we get a call from a collection agency. We had not even been given a chance to pay the bill within FOUR DAYS! The place quickly went downhill after new management took over and we lived there only one year because management was so unprofessional. DO NOT RENT FROM HERE!!!!!!
Maple Ridge is a friendly place. The manager, Kim Kreh, is always available for a friendly chat with residents. The maintenance staff is efficient and quickly resolves problems. If you love pets, this is the place! Two dog parks are available.
James was a pleasure to work with and we enjoy the pet friendliness and affordability!
I have had a wonderful experience in my time here and would recommend this location for anyone looking to build a home! Beautiful scenery and good walking trails, good community, fine dining within reasonable travel time!
Met with Phyllis about an apartment and she made everything so easy and streamless. Can not wait to get my welcome letter and move in
I am honestly not sure on why these apartments have a 4 star rating. I lived there for a year, and was ready to move after three months . It was not anything spectacular. During the summers, the living room and both bedrooms were infested with ants. I was even warned about ants, from the previous landlord (Amy), AFTER signing the lease. The apartment had a funny smell, in the kitchen/dining room area, that would not go away. The older lady Phyllis always had an attitude, so I avoided talking to her. The maintenance men were nice. However, the thing that really pissed me off was the fact that they made it hard for me to obtain a new place to live. Ive spent over $150 in application fees, thinking that I was having the worst of luck getting approved for different apartments. But come to find out, Maple Ridge were not calling potential landlords back! At first the landlords, at Maple Ridge, made it seem as if they never received calls nor voice mails from the potential landlords. However, that was a lie because I was actually beside one of them, while they called and left a voice message. I gave it some time to contact Maple Ridge again, and finally received an explanation to why they werent contacting the potential landlords. I was suppose to sign a release form, with the potential landlord/ realtors, before they could release my rental history. Ive NEVER heard of that before! Due to this, Iwas forced to stay with family. Til this day, to my understanding, the potential realtors havent gotten a call back from Maple Ridge staff, and all of this took place since June-August! Mind you, my lease ended on the 31st of June. I left the apt very nice and did not cause any problems!
By far the worst place to live. I didnt mind it when Kim managed it but once Amy took over it just quickly went downhill. She is rude and a terrible person to deal with. I hated my time there with her managing it and couldnt wait to get out. When I did finally move out I put my reasonings as management and the fact that the apartments are infested with mold. She lied and changed my answer on the move out sheet to the idea that I bought a house which isnt even true. Do not live there. You will regret it.
Been here since 2006 I love it and the friendly neighbors, also our landlord is Awesome!!
Please think twice before renting here. The maintenance is pretty good, however you will get tired of all the rules coming out of the office as if they are a 5 star hotel business. Dont understand above reviews because they are not that helpful - you will get a nasty letter if only ONE day late. (eviction) even if you tell them ahead you are going to pay one day late with the extra charge of 60+ dollars. They will not respect you as a tenant. You are only a dollar sign to them. Even after paying all rents on time for several years when moving out - which involved all their requirements upon doing so, --- cleaned for a very long day - cleaned all appliances behind frig, cabinets, rugs bathrooms, etc. - doesnt matter they will always find a way to overcharge you and get your deposit PLUS CHARGE YOU for extras, such as carpet for entire apt. even though it had various spots on it when moving in(they shampoo it and then after a few days circles show up and in the end they will try and make you pay for whole apt. carpet (one person was told $3,000.00) They make you sign a mold waiver which makes one very suspicious of mold (which they had a lawsuit about) Their little balconies you can hardly turn around on. Animals are okay but it seems as if this place was made to give all the grassy spots to dogs, NOT CHILDREN, so watch where you step. And one more thing after only 4 days after moving out you will get hounded by a COLLECTION AGENT who is super rude. who will harrass you for an unbelievable amount. Dont be tricked by the pool. It is small and usually crowded. Oh ya, the stove I had would instantly flare up (my burners were clean) something definitely wrong with those stoves. (You will have close calls constantly with danger of fire) There is also a puppy patrol here (group of ladies who police the place and take photos and give to mgmt or police) I dont recommend this place to anyone, not even dogs who have the run of the place. Please spend your hard earned money somewhere other than Maple Ridge. You will not be respected for being a good tenant no matter what you do. .. and my rating is minus 0 - oh and even after paying on time for your stay the collection letter will ruin your credit rating which they dont give a **** about. It is really disturbing they would treat someone gave them so much of their livehood to be treated that way. HORRIBLE PLACE!! Oh almost forgot - we moved out 2 weeks before lease was up and PAID them in full for the apt sitting empty for 2 weeks- did they appreciate that? Heck no.
If you have dogs and love dogs this is the place to be.
Not friendly to graduate students, law students, or married undergraduates. Do not allow co-signers or households consisting of solely full time students.
Tried to charge for unclogging drain. Said there was lots of hair in the drain. I go to the hairdresser or parents. Also, had just moved in.
LOL LOVE IT😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇😇🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑🤑
