I had just moved to Texas from Washington State. I needed a Vehicle inspection Report to get my leased 2020 Toyota RAV4 registered so I contacted Gene Messer Toyota to get established, get the report done and I had just been notified that I was due for a maintenance visit so set that up as well. My appointment was this morning. I was treated like royalty. I was there for less than an hour, left completely satisfied and actually stopped back in as they said they would put my new plates on for me! Talk about customer service!!! Great job!!! The staff was very informative and quick to get me in. The service was performed very quickly. My only complaint was that my windshield washer fluid was not refilled. Though it was not discussed directly, every other shop I have visited refills the fluid. It makes me wonder that if something so minor was missed, could something larger been missed as well.
Had no issues. Bought from them one month ago, and all the finances are set up exactly as they said they should be. They were upfront and honest. Had to cancel the extended warranty after initially buying it, and everything concerning this went smoothly as well.

I bought my 2018 Camry SE Monday from Josh Short. This entire experience has been friendly and easy to say the very least. Josh was there every step of the way to make sure everything was completed in a fast timely manner. There was a small issue that I noticed that the service department is taking care of, which is no stress on me. They were very quick to get my Camry in and get the part ordered by lunch. The customer service is great! I needed to visit the service department for an oil change and I decided to book an appointment online. I came in at 9AM and Adam was great in helping me out. Even made sure I wasn’t cheated 40$ which I appreciate. I thought my car would be there all day, but they called me 40 minutes later informing me that my vehicle was ready to be picked up! Overall, I had a great experience and will be doing business with them again in the near future.
Usually good experience, but this time after making a appointment, dropped off car at 9:00. You didn’t call until after 2:00, that is ridiculous amount of time to get car serviced.

Weve had our car serviced at Gene Messer several times. They have always gone above and beyond to make sure our cars needs are met, and we are happy. We recently worked with Colby, we had a recall taken care of as well as a service done. There were a few mistakes made on the paperwork side, but Colby took great care of us.
In the past, I have regularly been frustrated when taking my vehicle to the dealership for maintenance. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this visit to the Service Center. I was able to schedule an appointment online and was seen at my appointment time. The service technician, Adam, was friendly and efficient. He stated the maintenance would take approximately two hours and my vehicle was ready within this timeframe.
Just moved to Lubbock. Best Service I have ever had on my Toyota Corolla. Mark was great .They did not try to take advantage or charge me extra. Will continue to go back!

Dont trust the financial guys at all they will rip you up and lie for example past them if they charge a few points extra on interest. Its called a financial reserve in Texas car dealers can charge 2.5% above the interest rate that a bank gives you they dont tell you this upfront you have to ask its illegal for them not to tell you whats your ask. For example Chase Bank gives you 3%, but they report to you that the best interest rates you can get was 5.5 they get back 2.5% from the bank. Look it up its called financial reserve very interesting piece of information to have

Had an electrical issue while traveling and dropped my vehicle off here. Toyota was diligent to find the source of the issue and got me back on the road and back home. Colby provided excellent communication and customer service throughout the process. I would recommend this service department.
Service staff was friendly and the service I specifically asked for was completed so that’s the 2 stars. However, instead of calling me to tell or ask me if I wanted my cabin filters they found dirty replaced they apparently emailed it which I later found at 9pm. No mention of it when I picked my vehicle up either. Had I gotten a phone call I definitely would’ve replaced those so I wouldn’t have to take it back in as an inconvenience. They couldn’t text or call me asking or telling me of any issues yet they managed to spam text me trying to buy my 4Runner off of me 🙄... I’m not a happy camper cause today was the ONLY day I had a ride so I didn’t have to sit up there waiting forever. They also didn’t even mention my tires to me I asked about tires since I will be replacing them soon. Yet I see that was marked as a yellow on the email also. I need a phone call or a live person not a email I may or may not check for days on end. Total fail on communication. I’m just hoping my actual service that was performed on the vehicle since they had it from 7 - 3 ( cause nobody called to tell me it was ready ) is better than the communication I got from them.

I wish we had the experience others are bragging about. We were treated kindly during the deal but afterwards we were treated very badly. The sales manager was degrading and insulting. I guess customer service to this outfit only applies when you are giving them money. We will not go back. will go as far as leaving town to buy our next vehicle.

What a joke. Every single time I come in for any maintenance on my vehicle I bought I get the run around or some excuse. 3+ hours for a tire rotation and when I called for an update they said they didn’t know where my car was…. So after an hour I decided to come up to the dealership to see why it was taking so long and why I hadn’t gotten a phone call back. They had just started on it when I came to check. Every single interacting with anything that says “gene messer” on it is a terrible one.

We called and asked if we could get service on our 2020 Toyota 4 Runner, we were on the road and the service light came on. Adam was very helpful and was able to work us in. They provided a ride to a local restaurant and were done by the time we were finished eating. Could not be happier with the service and the courtesy provided by Adam. Quick, easy and affordable! I had my sales professional give me a call when I was just trying to get an inquiry on my trade in, but the price they gave me for it was great! I traded in my old 97 Avalon for a new Prius Prime, and have a low rate per month for it. They were willing to work with what I had rather than make me come up with something I couldn’t afford, and I think that’s a great way to run a business.
They did an excellent job, truck runs great and Colby Watts was very helpful.
Used a coupon so got a great deal but it took them 3 1/2 hours to complete an oil change.
Very professional and courteous. We stopped by late in the morning after leaving our second vehicle at another dealership for maintenance. Colby arranged for an Uber to collect us from Gene Messer Toyota and drop us off at the other dealership where the second vehicle was waiting.

He also let me know that you service other cars besides Toyota. I brought my Cadillac SRX in today for an oil change and windshield wiper blades. Again, Braden was out of his way helpful and personable. It also is customer friendly that you have Uber service to make it convenient for me. Thank you.

I had received a letter from Toyota that my 2019 4Runner was under a fuel pump recall in early 2021. I tried scheduling this with Gene Messer Toyota in Lubbock and had to overcome several hurdles in order for them to complete this work. They appeared to be so confused about the recall process and in how to order the part and schedule this work that it was as if 1) they didn’t understand the Toyota recall process 2) they don’t know how to communicate effectively with customers or 3) they simply did not want to complete this for me. It honestly became a part-time job for me to manage this replacement of my fuel pump with the number of times I had to call them, talk to different people, follow up, and coordinate the ordering of parts between dealerships in two different states! Horrible experience, I certainly do not recommend and will do everything I can to not return! Hopefully I can locate another Toyota dealership in the area who appears more competent.
