Who really enjoys car buying? I know I don’t… however, Kyle made things as seamless as he possibly could for us. He was extremely patient with us as we thoroughly inspected the car, asked him numerous questions and helped us get the process done quickly and efficiently so that we could make it back home (2 hours away) in time to grab our kids from school. I generally don’t speak to car salesmen. I let my husband do that. My experiences in the past have been less than great as a woman walking into a dealership. This dealership, this salesperson, made me feel welcomed and didn’t downplay any of my concerns. And he didn’t ever try to push us into purchasing the car. That spoke volumes to me, personally. I called and made an appointment and explained exactly what needed to be done. When I arrived I had to explain it again, I had mentioned needing my driver’s side window button replaced and was told they weren’t sure they had the part. I had to drive a hundred miles to get there and since I expected the service to take several hours I asked if there was a loaner car available but that was not an option. So I waited. After two and a half hours I went to check on my car but it was sitting in the drive, untouched. Finally got the service done and received a text saying my total was about $550. Walked around to pay and was told it was $650. Showed the young lady the text and she corrected it without apology or explanation. I certainly will never return.

They kept in frequent contact with me, making me aware of how the repair was coming along from the beginning to the end. From Duanes scheduling of my appointment, to Mark handling the week long repair, to the men who performed the labor, and Marissa closing the matter and handing me the keys. My state inspection took almost an hour. A trim piece on my vehicle was snapped off and sitting in my back seat. I alerted my service guy and he told me he could get me a price to fix it. I told him it was not broke when I arrived and I shouldnt have to pay for it. He said he would have a manager call me today, and that it was unlikely his technician would have broken it. It is the end of the day and I have not heard from any manager.

I bought a Jeep Patriot in January 2018. I was pleased with the entire process except for one glaring issue I didnt discover until the weather got hot. I specifically asked that since I was purchasing a a used fleet car, if there was a history of it having been driven by smokers. They assured me it had been a non-smoking rental car in the past. When the summer temps reached the 80s and 90s my Jeep smelled like a pool hall. The odors of nicotine and tobacco were overwhelming! I have tried various air fresheners and detail solutions to no avail. I will likely use this dealership again but next time I will make sure that what I was told is also put in writing so the issue can be fixed if necessary.

After months of researching I called Gene Messer VW and asked for a salesman. They directed me to Bradley; I told him which car I was interested in and that I didnt want to spend hours at the dealership. He took care of most everything over the phone. When I got there I test drove the car and decided it was what I wanted. We signed some papers, then sent me to the finance manager and that was it, done! No all day going back and forth with the salesman, finance etc, just super fast and easy. I got the car I wanted at a great deal and was super impressed at how quick it really was.

Very difficult to have service work completed. We live 3 hours from the dealership and had to make 3 trips before a recall could be completed on our 2018 Atlas. The first time we took off work, paid for a hotel and traveled to have the recall addressed, they did not have the catalytic converter so only part of the recall could be completed. The 2nd time we traveled to have it fixed, they didnt have a loaner or available rental; and since it was supposed to take all day to fix (the tech was apparently over booked), we decided to reschedule so that we werent having to keep our kids entertained at a dealership for several hours. I called to schedule a 3rd appointment with the service department in Lubbock, and was transferred to some 3rd party scheduling person who assured me that I would not have to drive 3 hours and not get anything done, once again. Luckily I called the service department right back to straighten out the details only to find out the 3rd party had scheduled the recall on a day that the tech was unavailable. The manager rescheduled my appointment and made sure I had a loaner this time. I did finally get the recall fixed....3 trips, 18 hours of travel time, 1 hotel stay and 3 missed days of work, later. I love Volkswagen, but I will never buy another car from a dealership so far away.

Went in just for an oil change. They told me I needed over $2500 worth of work done, and some of it had to be done or it wouldn’t pass inspection. Windshield wiper blades are brand new and they said I needed new ones, and that my two front tires would never pass inspection... id just taken it to discount three weeks ago and they said my tires had plenty of tread.My husband took my car to another place today to see if it would pass inspection, and just like we knew, it did.

Took my car in to get an oil change with the service department. After picking it up and getting ready to leave I noticed my sunglass compartment was open, tried to close it and it would not close. I decided to go back in and see what was going on with it since I literally never touch that. Was told by one guy that the clips must have broke as it was common among my car type, another man told me that they don’t mess with that part of the car and they wouldn’t have broken it. Please explain how it was just fine when I took it in, but between drop off and pick up it broke on it’s own??! Was told it would be covered under the warranty but would take a few weeks to get the part in. I now cannot see out of my rear view mirror which is a huge safety concern for me as I drive 200+ miles a day for work. Will not be going back for oil changes if I’m going to come back to other parts of my car being broken.

Overall happy with the truck I bought customer service was good! Only issue was when I brought up price they don’t want to haggle which is fine just came off a little rude they way they told us by whipping out a phone and saying well this is what we should sell it for and pointing and saying you see that big sign over there that says no haggle little unnecessary! Overall they agreed to replace the wind shield so they did help some and the price was competitive! And once we agreed to get it the customer service was good and financing was quick! Still like gene messer usually deal with the Chevy house but good quality trucks!

Appointment for 1pm. I arrived early as always for an oil change and inspection. Apparently after the inspection, It was found all 4 tires I purchased about 3 years ago (from the same place) had dry rot so I needed to buy 4 new ones. Annoying.. but fine. The following 4 hour wait after agreeing to buy new ones was the most frustrating part of the appointment however. It is what it is I suppose.

Best dealership experience I’ve ever had! Everyone was very friendly and helpful! Walked in to look at a vehicle I saw online but found out it was sold the night before. Joshua in sales recommended a VW Atlas and I was sold on it quick! He helped us through the whole process of purchasing our Atlas, even when he wasn’t in the office! Matt helped us finish the deal and gave the Atlas a wash and fueled it up! Amazing group to do business with! The dealership had a kids corner that my daughter played in while we talked. I was in and out so quickly, from looking at the vehicle to being handed my keys! Highly recommend Gene Messer Volkswagen!!

The monthly car payment changed because they pushed the warranty. Next we could not take car home due to address being different from license. I was the main signer instead of being the cosigner as discussed because of credit score. The finance manager got very ugly with me and argued with me about why we couldnt take the car home that had my name and insurance info on it. He then refused to speak to me and tried to only deal with my daughter the cosigner. I tried calling to pick up paperwork that should have been given to is the first day, but my calls were avoided and unanswered numerous times. Finally after 3 days of back and forth we got paperwork left at the receptionist desk. I will not ever go back to any Gene Messer branch. We have bought cars here for over 20 years and never before have been so badly treated or hqndled so dishonestly by any dealership. Go elsewhere if looking for a vehicle.

Just did my timing belt, service was good but they didnt have the common courtesy to put my wind shade back up in my windshield which was laying in the passenger side( outside air temp is 110 degrees. They also had the AC on full blast which can damage the compressor if not cycled off properly. Im a helicopter mechanic I know all to well.

Worst service that I have ever experienced in my life! Where should I began after being told when originally making appointment it would only take 2.5 hours it ended up taking 5 days that we had to leave vehicle there due to one of the technicians breaking the inhibition key housing for sterring wheel which they charged me $360 for the part and $745 to install when they broke the part, We did not live in the same town so the vehicle could not be picked up to the 6 th day and they left the Vehical outside with no windows, knowing that after we picked up Vehical it was going straight to the body shop to have windows installed, To top it of the was a huge rain storm that flooded the interior which to this day a week later my seats are still soaked and the interior smells like mildew, I literally had a mentally and financially break down after dealing with Volkswagen service department and all they had to say was they were sorry. Dont make the same mistake somewhere else

We purchased a brand new VW vehicle from Gene Messer a few weeks ago. It is already in the shop for a check engine light. We were told it would take up to a week to determine the problem. No replacement vehicle was offered so we are left with no transportation and no customer service! Unacceptable!

The finance man we were speaking with and that we told what we wanted our payment at haves a number around $50 above that and when we said no thank you he said oh let me look that this bank and got it down to just $10 over. I’m wondering why he didn’t give us the cheaper price first !?! And was there an even cheaper one? But we had been there for so long and with 4 kids and were ready to leave. They do have a nice play area for the kids though.

Because of some matters at home, I hadnt had any time in the last month to go out car shopping. I was in a serious bind to make a selection quickly. I purchased my VW from this dealership with no issues and I love my car. I have just had a terrible experience with the service department though. I was waiting in line for my scheduled appointment when someone completely cut in front of me while the service member was getting my information. No one did anything about it and allowed her to cut in front of me in line. I’m dissatisfied and it took much longer due to this. I might even go out of my way to find another VW dealership to take my car to from now on.

As far as just doing a regular maintenance of our car oil changes and recalls, I have never had a problem with Gene Messer. However if you have an older car, there service department is definitely not my top choice. They say the initial diagnosis is free, but they can’t tell you anything with the free diagnosis. So after you spend a couple hundred dollars they’ll tell you the ten year rule on the cars is up parts can’t be found and they can’t fix it for any guarantee. It’s also a guessing game if you can ever get ahold of anyone in the service department. They will call you for more money, but you can’t get them if you are trying to call back to ask questions. On top of it all if you are any type of mechanic they will definitely not explain anything on how or why you had or are having problems. It’s a beat around the bush situation with no guarantee of results they just want your money.After having the time to fix my car I wanted to update my review, so that all the people that don’t trust dealerships have have the piece of mind that they are correct. The $1,800 I was quoted to attempt to fix my car just cost me $125 plus a spanner wrench I had to buy. The timing belt was loose and the plugs and wires needed changed. However I was told buy the service department that they changed the plugs from the picture you can tell that was never the case and there was an engine mount out that was extremely obvious. If they have this bad on technicians working there maybe they just need an actual mechanic. As for my cars they will never see this dealerships service department again, I’ve truly seen their colors. Oh and the reply you see from the service department they never called it’s just to make them look good on their side.

Am so frustrated with this dealership. I bought a used Jeep Wrangler from them and was told it was in good working order. About two weeks into owning it, the air conditioner went out and then the brakes failed on the curvy mountain road I live on. I could have been seriously injured or worse. I took the Jeep into a local dealer that takes the warranty I bought when I bought the car. They found $2000 worth of repairs that the Jeep needed in order to even run. The timing belt is shot, it burns oil and much more. Gene Messer insisted the warranty pay for it. The warranty won’t pay for it because it was pre existing conditions from Gene Messer dealer. I have put in countless calls to Gene Messer Volkswagen to get this dealt with and keep getting the run around. I want them to either just take the car back or make sure it is in good working order. I feel swindled and treated poorly by a company I researched and trusted. Beware of this company.

From the minute I walked on the lot to when I drove the car off the lot it was a great experience! My husband and I don’t like to buy a car in one trip. Our experience took probably two weeks, from research to actually buying the car. The salesman called on a Saturday and due to a mix up, I had to email but it was taken care of very quickly. Great customer service and follow up too! Matt worked with us and never tried to push us in anyway. I will be buying my next car there also! Service dept was excellent. Went in with the Tiguan in mind! The vehicle was ready in the front of the dealership! I was able to hop in and test drive it! After test driving it I realized that it wasn’t going to be what my family needed! I expressed my concerns with Ben, and told him I was going to wait because I wasn’t 100% sold on this vehicle! I went to look at the dealership with my daughter one night and then the next day I inquired online. Benjamin responded and was extremely helpful. We decided to buy the car for my daughter and it was a surprise so Benjamin helped us keep it a secret doing most on the process via phone and electronically. He even helped us come up with ideas on ways to surprise her with it. He was her through on showing us all the features of the car. We have bought a lot of cars and by far one of the best experiences we have ever had.

We were in the dealership several hours (on a Sat). They were busy but folks who came in after us were called in first. Sales gal was fantastic though. Was told if they found financing I could drive it off the lot only to be told later it needed an oil change & inspection. They would deliver it Mon at 3. That time came & NO ONE showed. Made several calls because I was getting the run around. A guy finally showed around 4:30 so I had to leave my position to go out & deal with that. He said it had been held up in service because he thought they were talking about the tires but it passed inspection. So now Im worried about the tires. Later called & finally reached my sales gal (Ilana) She threw attitude immediately saying she left me a nessage. (no VM no missed call) Asked for a manager who said they would put new tires on, which they did Wed. Ive dealt with this dealership over 20 years ago & NEVER had this much trouble. After sale service this time FAILED MISERABLY!!

I went to Midas to get my tires aligned and to get my oil changed. They werent able to align my tires and told me that I had to go to the Volkswagen dealer for it to be done properly. I was able to easily schedule an appointment to bring my car in by calling the dealership. The morning that I brought my car in, I needed a ride because it was going to take a few hours for them to service my car. They provided a complimentary Uber for me to get to my house. After a couple of hours, they sent me a vehicle report about what they had found other than the alignment that could be fixed (specifically replacing air filters). The price of the change was listed along with a video explaining why changing the air filters was important. All that I had to do was approve the additional services, which I was able to do without even having to call. When my car was ready, they sent another Uber to bring me back. They wrapped my steering wheel and car seat in protective plastic for COVID precautions and removed it immediately upon giving me my car back. I cannot say enough great things about my experience. Each staff member that I came in contact with was very friendly and patient. Additionally, the alignment ended up being $30 cheaper than it wouldve been at Midas. I highly recommend this location!

They quickly managed to find the vehicle with the details we preferred, completed a detailed orientation with my daughter and developed a package that worked for me.
