He showed up on time and tested everything. Went to his truck came back fiddled around with it and we went inside to check it out. The air was cold again! All it needed was a $5 part. We were expecting to have to replace the whole unit. But he told me there was no charge...at all...not even for the part. He could have easily sold us a new one and we would never have questioned it. While he was here he also took a look at our heating unit. He said it was really old but to run it til it quits. Good old fashion, honest service. When it is time to buy new heating and air we will definitely call this company.
My contractor brought Bauer in to install the mechanical system in our new build. Matt (Bauer) came to the initial meeting to scope out the project. He walked the house in a rough framed condition and seemed very confident that he could effectively plan and install. I trusted that they would come and provide a quality product. Unfortunately, they left a lot to be desired. First of all the penetrations they made into my house for their line sets were extremely sloppy and left an eye sore on the exterior of my home. Furthermore, the line sets got pinned against some of the floor joists which have resulted in some mechanical resonance in the house which is very annoying. The biggest issue I have is that the system seems woefully undersized. In the summer with all the blinds closed we cannot keep our house cool. We are always about 4-5 degrees above the desired temp. We have a vaulted ceiling in the living room which drives a lot of this issue, but this is something that should have been evident and accounted for during the preliminary walk through. Overall its frustrating that in a brand new home we cannot get the mechanical performance one might expect. I have reached out to Matt several times to resolve this issue only to be brushed off.On the positive side, the first HVAC unit they installed failed in the middle of winter right when we moved into the house. After extensive pestering and a couple of very cold mornings waking up with no heat Matt came out and replaced the entire unit (hence the three stars instead of 2)
I have known Matt for approximately 10 years. In that time he has worked on about four big projects for us. I appreciate his dedication, timeliness, bid accuracy, and most of all, his integrity. I never feel as though I am being sold when working with Matt which I truly appreciate. I consider Matt a straight shooter who does right by his customers. He is the only HVAC contractor we will ever use.
We got three bids from the big guys and received a referral from a contractor friend to get a bid from Bauers to replace our HVAC. All three of the big guys were 3-4 thousand dollars more in their bids and were pushy in promoting their brands and didnt really do a thorough assessment of our situation. Matt came in and measured everything out and genuinely told us what they needed to do. The work they did was fantastic and I would recommend them to anyone instead of the big players in town!
Matt was wonderful to work with! He worked on a new construction build for our family and when we had hang ups due to other construction issues he worked hard to make sure we did not slow down with his parts of the build. He went above and beyond the normal job we had hired him for. We will use Bauer Mechanical again!
This is a no BS company. Very knowledgeable and professional. I recommend Matt and his team for all HVAC needs! Well done, thank you!
Matt is the real deal. Down to Earth and easy to work with. They installed HVAC in our brand new home and were right on schedule. Great company.
6/21/17........Probably, the very best service I have ever received from a repairman! Punctual, professional, very knowledgeable, and clean! Seriously recommend Dennis Lewandowski, the owner of Bauer Mechanical Services for any and all your service needs! Thank-you, Dennis!
Bauer mechanical installed a new furnice for us after ours unexpectedly went out right before winter. They had the absolute best price after a few estimates! Thanks guys!
Amazing customer service and detailed installation of my furnace and air conditioning !! Incredible price as well as scheduled time to install
I give the highest possible recommendation to Matt and Bauer Mechanical for what they did for a friend of mine just a couple of weeks ago (end of Sept 2016). Sorry its a bit long, but I think its worth the read -- definitely a feel-good story, and a bit of an eye-opener about getting HVAC work done. Disclaimer: Matt is a friend of mine, which why I thought to call him. Other than that, I have tried to make this review unbiased -- and I think the story below speaks for itself.A friend (single mom/grandma) was having an issue with her furnace last winter (late 2015/early 2016). She called one of the local HVAC places, and, after doing an inspection, they told her that 1) her heat exchanger was faulty and 2) she needed a new furnace, as her old one was putting out lots of carbon monoxide and would kill them if they continued to use it. They also wrote HX Failed (i.e. Heat Exchanger Failed) on top of the furnace. She called 4 other places in town and they all came out, looked at things, and provided quotes to replace the furnace, with all of the quotes ranging from $4000-$6000. She didnt have the money for a new furnace, so they didnt use it for the rest of the winter (which was COLD). Unfortunately, she didnt tell me (or anyone else) about it at the time.Fast-forward to about 3 weeks ago. With winter coming in just a month or two, I was talking with her and she was explaining the situation, trying to figure out how she was going to be able to get a new furnace, so I asked Matt from Bauer Mechanical if hed be willing to take a look at it for her. We went over to her house, and he spent about 5 minutes looking at the furnace and then told me (in a somewhat surprised voice) that he didnt think there was anything wrong with it. I asked about the Heat Exchanger and he said that its something almost every homeowner cant check on their own, so its easy to tell someone their HX is broken and thus the furnace needs to be replaced. He had his service tech come out and inspect the HX, who inspected 6 or 8 locations and told me that the HX was perfectly intact. However, the furnace would cycle on for about a minute, and then shut off for a couple of minutes, then back on, etc. The service tech told me thought it was just a limit switch problem, and he would go get a new one. So he left to get that, and I left to go get a carbon monoxide detector with a digital readout so we could verify there wasnt a CO safety issue. When he put in the new part, we fired up the furnace, and it ran perfectly! Also, the CO detector showed a level of ZERO (and has ever since). After all of this, I asked the service tech how much we owed them for the part and for the service call, and he said we should just consider it a Christmas present to her!Not only does this really give me confidence in Matt and Bauer Mechanical, but has made me question the other places in town (and the industry in general). I dont know if they actually inspected her furnace, or just relied on the HX Failed note. Its sad when places try to take advantage of someone who looks like an easy mark...(Incidentally, we also needed to have our furnace and A/C replaced, and, after this experience, we definitely wanted to have Matt and Bauer Mechanical do it. Their price was about 25% less than their competitors, and they did a fantastic job, and did it really quickly -- not even taking a full day to do both). Great job!
Matt is easy to work with. Great people, prices, and work!
