While I am not thrilled to give a 2 star, I think it is deserved. The option for customer service is to submit a ticket and someone will get in touch with you every 2 days. Thought he service is slow, Christine was very kind and eager to help.Problem is.... the plant arrived beyond dead. Did they send a dead plant? I ordered on a Monday and it arrived on Friday, I would have expected it still to be some what alive. Because this was a gift, I upgraded the planter, they are refunding me for the plant only not the planter (which i guess is fair.....) Customer service aside, is it not enough to make up for something I bought that will literally go in the trash. So sad... spend your money elsewhere.
I ordered a coffee plant for a friend in LA thinking cool they have a store in LA, theyll ship it easy from there. They shipped it. With no prior indication. From NEW JERSEY.
PROBABLY WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE!.I purchased a Christmas gift on December 16th. I waited until the 23rd and still no shipping information. So I decided to use their email to notify the person that a gift was coming.After 10 days I sent the first email and I was told to kindly wait that they were currently processing my order.After almost 3 weeks and many emails with no response, I finally got so lucky to find somebody in the live chat, and I was told after 3 weeks and after had notified the person that the gift was coming, that they were out of stock and they were going to cancel my order.Whats more crazy is that if I didnt contact them they will never issue a refund for my order.PLEASE DO NOT SHOP HERE, THEY ARE A JOKE.
I ordered a snake plant online for in-store pickup. It was beautifully boxed and ready to go when I got there. The little info card is great for gifting plants to friends who are new to plant parenthood. Everyone in the shop was very friendly and very very helpful.
I wanted to order a plant for local delivery, s d the staff was so incredibly helpful- sending photos and videos of multiple options, making recommendations, and happily went back and forth with me and accommodated all requests. They also got it delivered quickly, and it was beautiful.
Every time I go into the shop all employees are very welcoming! The store is fully stock and the plants look very happy and well maintained.Employees provide and kindly share their knowledge and go the extra mile!The Store makes people Happy!Grateful.
Received a plant as a gift. The package came completely wrecked. Soil everywhere, the plant itself completely thrown about (and pretty sad looking, tbh). The box said they would make things right if the plant didnt survive the shipping, so I uploaded a photo and submitted an online inquiry right away. One of their reps got back to me and offered to send me a box of soil. I guess thats how they define making things right. I asked them how the plant itself would survive until that time (who knows when Ill receive anything, since they havent responded again since that first time).
I came here with a friend a few months ago to check it out and was not at all impressed. I work with plants for a living and can easily find less expensive options elsewhere. Youre just paying for the hipster aesthetic. Do yourself a favor and support one of the many long-standing mom & pop nurseries that dont upsell you. Or go visit the flower district--which is RIGHT THERE.
I received a plant as a gift and there was no card inside. I had no idea who to thank until the person asked me if I had received their gift. Awkward to say the least.I decide to give them a try and order myself for a friend. The checkout experience for gift subscriptions is a bit confusing and I accidentally confirmed my address as the ship to and cc. I immediately emailed them to correct the address and was told to notify the recipient they would need to change the address. Thank you for taking away the element of surprise....Then upon receiving their plant, the planter was broken. Every step of receiving and purchasing was a mess and the customer service isnt helpful. There are plenty of plant subscription companies, so I recommend to read reviews before committing.I also reviewed this business on yelp and the business owner flagged my review to have it removed. Unprofessional and unethical
Update: I posted this review after I sent The Sill an email last week about all the issues with my order to the address in their comments and received no response. I still have not received a response to my private message, but they have the time to quickly respond to my public post without even checking if I had already sent an email. This has been such a disappointing experience that has taken up way too much of my time.I spent a lot of money for what was a very disappointing experience. The box with the plant was a mess with dirt everywhere, which spilled over tot he floor when I took it out. There are so many ways in which they could have improved the way they pack their plants for a better unboxing experience. In addition, one of the items I ordered was damaged (as well as the plant), and the “blush” pot I ordered is something only a colorblind person would describe as “blush”, and the most expensive item was missing. It was like an intoxicated person packed my order. Never again! If you want a plant, go to your local nursery.
BEWARE!!!!!!After purchasing 4 plants online from The Sill over two weeks ago (1/7), I am currently trying to get a response about canceling and refunding my order.I contacted them (on 1/12) after the first week, once I noticed that my order status still hadnt changed from unfulfilled in my online account. They said to note that my order would take 5-10 business days to arrive.My order status hadnt changed after two more days, so I contacted them (1/18) and asked for an update.Two days later, they responded (1/20) saying one of the plants I ordered is out of stock. My options were that I could swap the one for an alternative plant and get this shipped out ASAP, or they would reimburse the cost of the one plant and get the rest sent along. (Note, the 5-10 business day shipping charge was $25.)I responded immediately asking for a refund on all of the plants and let them know I was disappointed in the timeliness of their response.At this point I have still not received a response, my account indicates my order remains unfulfilled, Ive called every one of their store locations-not one phone was answered, and at this point, I am preparing to contact my bank and report the transaction as fraudulent. I have no idea what else to do.I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY.
Came in to pick out some pet friendly house plants. The potting was done for us which was extremely convenient. The ceramic pots are beautiful. Great customer service too!
I ordered a small plant for a friend, with same-day delivery via Postmates. I believe Alex helped me!Id wanted to shop with The Sill before, and highly recommend them as an alternative to flowers or other small gifts to send to friends (especially during the pandemic).
Bought a small Laurenti Snake Plant in the Olmsted Planter and its doing very nicely. Arrived in perfect condition. This is my second purchase from The Sill and Im really starting to love this brand. Ill definitely be purchasing more!
I love this company so much I buy everyone’s gifts through them online. I was so happy to hear they opened an LA store I drove from Oceanside on my birthday just to go here. Staff was incredible, knowledgeable and seemed very keen to help you and answer any questions. Going into the store was a great experience I found exactly what I wanted very quickly and got all the information I needed to care for my new plants. 10/10 recommend
Every plant Ive ever bought from The Sill has been beautiful and healthy, which makes them very easy to take care of at home. The sales reps at their brick-and-mortar locations are also super helpful with recommendations regarding lighting choices, watering schedules, etc. Recently bought the Prospect (large) for our Monstera. Looks like a dream.
Be aware that customer service is less than great. I ordered 2 plants from them that I wanted for a housewarming gift in plenty of time to receive them. I got a notice saying they were shipped. A couple days later I checked the tracking only to discover they had not, in fact, been shipped and were sitting in California. I live in AZ, right next door.I brought this to the attention of them, and 2 days later did receive an explanation and an apology “looks like there was a mix up and they will send me another updated tracking number.” I responded with some concerns about the condition of plants that had been sitting in a box for a week. Got no response.So today I look and it still says “processing” so I emailed and said I no longer want them since the purpose for them is no longer relevant. The housewarming party was the next day.So, what a coincidence, less than an hour later I get a notice that they have been shipped. Again. I am usually pretty easy to deal with, but now I am stuck with 2 plants at a cost of almost $100 that I no longer need.This is, in my opinion, poor customer service. If they had checked on the status of this to make sure all was in order, this could have been avoided. But days went by and since I had gotten a notice that they had been shipped, I assumed they had. By the time I figured all this out, delays in response to my emails (or no response at all) it was apparently too late, so I can either keep the plants I no longer need, or let this become my problem and go to the trouble of me returning them.I have gotten plants from them in the past with no problem, but this was a major fail. If the plants are not in good condition they will be hearing from me again.UPDATE: finally got plants. First, they advise on their website no worries about their plants being put in pots with no drainage holes (as these are) because they are packed with lava rocks in the bottom to avoid drainage problems. Wrong. The 2 I got were simply pots with no drainage holes, filled with soil, no lava rocks.I had to repot into my own pots with drainage holes, so the 2 pots that came with them are useless.Further, I had also ordered the watering can ( which is really cheap btw) and it was just dumped in on top of the plant, squashing it and breaking off leaves. Most of the soil for both plants had spilled out into the bottom of the boxes and one of the plants (roots and all) was just laying on top of what little soil was left in the pot.This was a complete waste of my money and time. Sorry to say they wont get any more of my business.
I got my plants from online (Parlor Palm, Money Tree, Rattlesnake Calathea) and I love all of them. They came boxed excellently so there was no damage, and they had excellent care instructions in-box. I want more! :)

The sills guide on how to care for my plant is really great, and its even helping me be a better plant mom to my plants that are not from the sill! 10/10 would recommend.
I’m sorry to say I was so disappointed with the plants I ordered online from the sill. I ordered a Hoya heart and a small philodendron. The philodendron had several yellow leaves when I opened it but I clipped them and watered it and it seems to be doing ok for now. The Hoya heart seemed fine upon unwrapping it but within a few days had turned yellow and I had to trash it. I know it’s always a risk to buy plants online and unfortunately I won’t be doing it again.
Joining the Plant of the Month club :) was the best thing I every did for my home! Happy girl!
I love all of my plants from The Sill. They all arrive happy and healthy. I have 4 going strong right now.
Beautiful plants, but my ZZ plant came with aphids AND spider mites. Unnecessary risk to my houseplant collection and I cannot purchase from The Sill again.
