Its the best and safest place for families and kids. Its very greenish and nice. I feel like home in the foreign country. The agent helped us is Richard Maravalle. He is the best. He calmly answered all our answers and he helped us with a virtual tour. He was the best. The tower apartment is very spacious and beautiful.
Came directly from Canada, there was a lots of difficulties and confusions, but Richard Maravalle lead leasing consultant of Park La Brea helped us in each point. He helped us with a virtual tour, selection of a great garden room with a reasonable rental cost before we reach it here. Also, he was really welcoming when we reached here on our move-in date. Rooms are excellent, cleaned, and well maintained. Love the wide window in the living room and garden area view through it. I am a scientist by profession, I generally love the calmness and natural beauty and Park La Brea has both the combination. We are also enjoying the amazing park areas in the community. Also, the community is very secure with its many gates. The location is excellent with easy access to The Grove LA, many markets, Farmers Market, Cedars-Sinai -Hospital (my workplace), many bus stops, grocery stores. Both I and my wife are really thankful to Richard and Park La Brea for giving us a very suitable home where we really feel like our home.
I used to live here and its the best apartment ive ever lived at. its really peaceful and theres a lot of great people i met. the swimming pool is really nice and the parks are amazing. in mid summer (when there wasnt covid) i remember when we had movie nights in the alandele circle aka the dinosaur park. we also had more events like halloween celebration the curson ave. since this place is close to schools and museums i think its a really good place for kids growing up. this place is overall really fun and a safe place .
COCKROACHES IN THE TOWERS. It is absolutely disgusting to know that these hand-sized, American cockroaches can crawl up to the upper floors where Im at. You want to move here with your family? Think twice. At first the location seems convenient, but youre going to lose serious sleep knowing these pests are crawling beneath your bed. The apartment wont do anything about them either.
We just visited my son at his place at PLB and again came away very impressed. Security, location, space, price—can’t be beat. When it comes to your child moving into a whole new world, I am so thankful he found this place.
Lived with Roaches November-July. I’ve called over 30 times to get the roach termination treatment. Either it doesn’t work, or this issue is not solvable. I have been miserable, and don’t recommend living here. I’ll spare everyone by not attaching the roach photos. But it’s been HORRIBLE.Also I’ve had so many packages stolen. They don’t do anything to help. I don’t even know who to call at this point, no one answers calls or emails. Don’t move in!!!
Absolutely pathetic administration. No one picks up the call no one responds. Houses are old, dilapidated without maintenance. The only good thing about this residential complex is the parks that are within. However, anyone looking for a comfortable and peaceful stay should stay away from this place
My daughter currently lives at Park La Brea and she has had a cockroach problem for months. Mind you she was home for months due to Covid and the apartment was vacant. However upon her return back to living there she spotted some cockroaches,They don’t respond to concerns and take their time addressing issues . This problem has gotten out of hand because we are the guarantors on the lease we have made numerous attempts to contact park la Brea to take care of the issue. No response either to myself or my daughter. Her apartment is infested and they are coming out of air ducts. She had boxes packed as she is moving from this disgusting apartment and when she went to slide a box cockroaches scurried out of the boxes. Since this is a major health concern I will be contacting the California health department regarding this and hoping something will be done. Not to mention the rent she is paying to live in this disgusting place. Do not live here! Terrible conditions and they never respond to calls or concerns! Been a nightmare!
Terrible accounting and leasing office service! They basically tried to scam me. They offered me 6 weeks free rent and I signed the leasing contract for a year. Based on our contract I used my 4 free weeks credit on March 2021 and I had 2 more free weeks left for April. In April 2021, they tried to charge me full amount. When I asked them about my 2 weeks discount credit, they did not answer my phone calls and emails for10 days. Once I got a chance to talk with the leasing office, they acted like they offered me only 4 weeks free rent. (They dont even have 4 weeks free deal based on their website) After checking our contract, they said they will reduce the discount amount from April rent. It has been another 10 days and I am still waiting for them to fix my credit to pay April rent... Be careful before signing the contract and double check your discount amount with them!
Where do I begin? I began my apartment hunt odyssey a couple months ago and it was going terrible until God guided me to Park La Brea. I was helped and assisted by leasing consultant Jean-Tommy Kayembe. He was Professional, Kind, Knowledgeable and guided me through every step of the process and made sure that I ended up with the smoothest transition ever. Anything I asked he had an answer for. THANK YOU Jean to Infinity and Beyond for being so A-M-A-Z-I-N-G and Thank You Park La Brea for being my beautiful new place that I call Home :-)PS: It is peaceful here, it is quaint and a nice atmosphere. Anyone seeking a new home, I recommend Park La Brea.
It is a great place to live and it is a community of peace and quiet in the middle of Los Angeles. Built in the 1940s it is well built and charming.
I am very thankful to JaEl Jones. She helped my family move here and was always there to answer all of my questions. I was not even assigned to her and she added me to her busy schedule to help me with my application because the person at I was assigned did not even respond to my emails. I am very grateful to meet you JaEl Jones.
Thanks to Carl Grubb for providing exceptional customer service, explaining terms and giving detailed answer to the many questions I asked even during covid and while he is also going around the community.
WARNING - Do not take the several negative reviews lightly, there is a reason they exist. TL;DR - The prices and offerings seem to good to be true, and they are. Starting the virtual process with wanting to rent from them has been nothing but a bad mix of headaches and crushed hopes. In a rental landscape with overpriced price tags amidst a pandemic, I was excited when I came across Park La Breas seemingly affordable offerings. And I wanted to move fast. Despite the leasing office picking up my call only after me trying for 3 days and leaving emails, I decided to give them the benefit of doubt (spoiler alert: they do not deserve it). After few more days of waiting, they connected me to Crystal Loporto. She sends me a copy pasted email asking me to send in a $500 application deposit, without making an initial call, offering a virtual tour, or even pictures. I remember reading her name in several negative reviews, as someone who would not get back to you after paying the deposit, and you should consider your money lost. Keeping this in mind, I asked if I could first have a virtual tour scheduled. My question was never answered, she never picked up any calls I made to her (neither did Park La Brea after this occurrence). Frustrated, I messaged Park La Brea to put me in touch with the leasing office. Hearing this, Crystal messages back accusing me of wrongly complaining, doesnt answer the virtual tour request I sent her a week prior, and does not apologize, even once. A cold reply from a service professional to say the slightest.I am furious. Does Park La Brea think moving cities, signing on to over 12 month leases, and doing this whole process virtually, is a joke? I put high prospects on this apartment complex, and was thinking I was lucky to find vacancies. Little did I know that those vacancies have a reason to them.If you are running a business, albeit an extremely profitable one, at the very least, be kind and respectful of peoples time, circumstances, and trust that they hold in proper communication.Ive never experienced such kind of negative customer service, EVER. A totally new experience, and I pray that I never have to deal with such people again.
Crystal Loporto!! If this lady emails you please Do not send her any money!!! She will lie and mislead you all the way to have you send the 500 dollars to hold a unit that you will never see the unit until it’s too late. Nasty attitude and very disrespectful after you send the money. Please, I’m warning you. Do not work with Crystal. Just ask to have your paperwork transferred to another leasing agent. Good luck
Terrible representatives. After paying holding deposit they disappeared. None answers the phone but If they do they just cant help. Fore example. I called leasing office and they told me they cant help with my problem. They told me to call admin office. Guess what they did? Admin office told me to call leasing office instead.... I dont recommend this place. Please give me back my holding deposit!
Safe neighbourhood with decent amenities 👍 the rent’a not bad if you consider the area you’re living in!
I was so excited when I found this place right before the virus hit.... unfortunately it’s a well dressed dump in a good location ran by careless management.Views are fantastic and the landscaping is wonderful but if you like being spoken to with care and respect this place isn’t for you.How they’ve chosen to treat existing tenants during the virus should be illegal and they should genuinely be ashamed of themselves.Security also could not possibly care less about your safety than they do.
FedEx and other delivery executives always block the elevator, they dont even care about other people are waiting. For complaints to call administrative office/patrol nobody attends the call. So much frustrated..
Im giving a 1 star rating for the time it takes to complete a maintenance request. I placed a paint touch up request back in December 2020. Its now March 2021 and it has yet to be acknowledged or completed. Every time you call to place a work order you get directed to an off site 3rd part rep (in The Philippines) who doesnt have much control in tbe process. Ive spoken to a few people in the administration office but nothing has come out of it so far.I understand that with Covid-19 being a factor it may take some time to complete a work order however 3 months for a simple paint job seems a bit ridiculous especially for the amount of money we pay in rent. I suppose I can always buy a bucket of paint myself and redecorate do the place but Im sure the leasing dept wouldnt appreciate that. Id like to know how much longer do I have to wait??? We only have 9 months left in the year
Thank you billy Tatum for your time. Nice people great service
Wanted to update my review thanks to Carl Grub I was able to find a nice apartment and get everything sorted out. Had minor setback trying to contact leasing office but my man Carl went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. Only been here for about 2 weeks but so far so good. If you need anything make sure to contact Carl he’s the best. I will update review at end of lease to reflect my experience.
Anahit George is the leasing agent who helped me for my apartment and honestly she is amazing! She responded to my emails and calls really fast and she gave me all the information I needed. she found the apartment I wanted right away! And she is also really nice :). You should ask for her if you need a leasing agent at park la brea!
I needed to look for a new place to live that was family friendly as I have three young kids. It was particularly daunting to try to do this during the pandemic. I got the contact information for Richard Maravalle at the Park Labrea leasing office. He directed me to their website and pointed out various units that were available both as garden courtyards and tower apartments. I finally found a garden apartment that worked for me, and in two weeks I was moved in.Richard and the leasing office helped make the move very smooth, working with me for the usual hiccups that took place in the move in process. I also requested that that the awning be power cleaned, and that was taking care of the day before I moved in.In my first month here, it has been a great experience as I can take my kids to the various playgrounds within the Park Labrea community. It is also maybe one of the few walking neighborhoods in Los Angeles as affordable restaurants and grocery stores, Ralphs, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe’s are all in walking distance.
I’m moving from out of state and was super excited about this apartment complex. I’ve been dreaming of a safe haven like this to move me and my son to so that we can focus on the things that’s most important To us but after reading these reviews I’m a bit worried and scared. Especially since everyone is saying the same thing! I have spoken to 2 reps who seemed very nice and had lots of knowledge of the complex. I’m hoping that these issues I’m reading about are only temporary because of COVID but I’m going to attempt to fill out an application and come back to update my review on the process . Wish me luck !!
STAY AWAY! This place is a joke. I Was told to pay $500 to hold a unit and fill out the application to apply. I did all that and was told it takes 48 hours to get an approval, It’s been two weeks and I have not heard a word from them. I called in and no one ever picks up. I left voicemails and emails and not once within the two weeks have I got a call back other than an automatic email saying that they are out of the office cause it is their day off. I understand that these are difficult times but this is ridiculous. I am now trying to get my money back cause I can not wait any longer. This place doesn’t even deserve one star!
We inquired a one bedroom and a pet friendly apartment with Blake through online viewing. He showed and explained everything in virtual the apartment and even gave us a break down of everything we are going to pay. After one day we decided to take the apartment and contact him via email and phone but he responded that he wasn’t in the office and we need to contact Anahit George via email and phone call but unfortunately we never heard from her either. Days gone by and still no response from both Blake and Anahit. Out of nowhere he contacted us today which is Sunday so odd telling us the price went high like couple of hundreds. So why giving us a false breakdown at our first meeting if the price will go up in the end?!? So unprofessional!!! I won’t recommend this place nor the people to inquired with.
Great apartment buildings. I lived in West Hollywood until I just moved here recently and Im really enjoying the neighborhood. The buildings are sort of art deco style and really nicely done. Parking is decent, my rent is affordable (at least for Los Angeles) and Im quite happy here. My only complaint is the the elevator seems to break at least once a week.
Cockroaches everywhere! Absolutely disgusting. Could go into more detail about how horrendous my living experience here was, but I’ve tried to block all of those memories. DONT live here.
I have received my deposit last May. Im relieved that I got it now.‐---‐---------‐---------------------------------------------------------------I have not received my deposit yet.(today is April 6, 2021)You have to reconsider moving to this community.I am husband of the person who left the review below. We are updating the below review regarding not receiving my deposit of 5,000 (2-months rent) after we moved out from Park la brea building 40 in June 2020.It has been 7 months. We havent received any news or explanation about why they cant return my deposit since I left the review. Also, we have not received a reply to my e-mail asking when we could get my money back.It is very painful for me and my family to leave without that money. Please contact me if anyone who is responsible read this review.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------My family moved 5 months ago, but still has not received the deposit. My deposit was a 2-months rent of 5,000 USD that is much money for our family’s leaving.I could imagine the financial crisis that you are facing. However, at least managers of Park la Brea need to respond faithfully to residents calls or e-mails and explain the current situation well. One resident who moved out left a review below that he moved two months ago and has not yet received the deposit. But my case is worse.I inquired by e-mail about when I can receive the deposit one month after I moved out, and one and half months after that, I received a reply from the leasing office. The manager asked for the forwarding address in the e-mail, and even though we already provided the forwarding address at the time of moving out, but once again, I returned the e-mail with an address where I can receive deposit checks in the United States. Then, after another month or so, the manager said via e-mail, asking if the international address we provided when we moved in was correct. If thats not the right address, he said he would deduct $50 from the deposit, as he had to cancel the check shipment. What are you talking about? When we moved out, we provided a forwarding address in the US to receive the deposit check, and we provided the US address again when the you asked after we moved out. Suddenly, if the international address does not match, you will deduct 50$ from the deposit? When we moved out, I provided a forwarding address in the US (I am quite sure I did as I put the address paper with my apartment keys), and afterward, we confirmed it by e-mail. But suddenly, you sent a deposit check to my international address, and if the address is not correct, You will deduct $50? Are you kidding?!!We provided our international address (an address of my home country) at the time of move-in, as we did not expect to receive mail or deposit check at that address, so we did not provide an exact address including my apartment suite number. So, if the manager really sent the check to my international address, I asked for proof of sending. But for another month, I havent been contacted at all.It would rather be good if Park La Breas leasing management honestly admits that the situation is terrible due to the pandemic, so they could not return the deposit quickly, and at least let me know when they can return it. And honestly, I don’t care about the $50 that much, just give me back my deposit right away.It has been five months.. Is there anybody who hasnt received the deposit for a longer time than me?I hope that the representatives who read this deal with my case quickly. Its a waste of one star, but I leave two stars because Im worried that my review wont be visible as it would be buried among the plenty of one-star reviews. Please contact me quickly.
I filled an application with Park La Brea and submitted all required documents a month ago.I tried to call the leasing office numerous times to talk about the apartment, and we never received a call back. The leasing consultant contacted us via email. The leasing consultant never checked the documents I initially uploaded on the website, and she was repeatedly asking for proof of income, ID, etc. (Everything was already uploaded on the website at the time I applied).Long story short, after waiting for 11 days, I contacted them to cancel the application. Note that their official email clearly stated that the application processing time is two business days. My wife became stressed out about our relocation from Texas to California. Imagine you are moving from one state to the other, and you filled an application, and no one is answering your phone calls, and you cant plan for your move!!!

Leasing agent Lynn Miller found me a terrific place in this LA iconic little community. She couldnt have been more helpful, diligent and professional. I dont usually write reviews but when people go the extra mile for you I like to say thanks! Ive had friends and family live in Park La Brea for most of my life, and Im really excited to be there now myself! Thanks again Lynn!
The leasing office was full of rock stars this June. We have lived at Park La Brea for 10 years (we clearly like living here) but were interested in moving into a renovated unit. The unit that fit all of our criteria happened to come available and within days we had the deal signed & are currently living in a much-upgraded apartment from our previous one, and we really loved our old place.Alice, Eve & Ryan were all incredibly helpful, and they made it all happen under the worst of circumstances - pandemic leasing cannot be easy.
I’ll be honest. We’ve enjoyed our last 5 years in the garden suites. Granted we picked well or got lucky with a good yard and a quiet street but not much to complain about!
Under normal circumstances, moving is already an extremely stressful experience. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic the stress is compounded.. I am relocating from the East coast to L.A. and wanted to secure an apartment prior to my arrival in L.A.I started reaching out to Park la Brea to inquire about their apartments in July and got no response. I decided to apply for a studio online since it was listed as available for my potential move date. I called PLB to inquire about the application process after submitting the application and someone answered the phone. I explained my situation to the rep and that I was relocating from the east coast, he advised me that an agent would call me back shortly- no call back that day. I called again the following day and no one answered. I called again the day after and the same rep who answered the phone previously, answered. He assured me that the manager would return my call; however, the manager had stepped away and if I didn’t hear back by 3:00pm local time to try again. I called back at 3:00 pm local time and no one answered the phone. This was on a Thursday.I received an email from a leasing agent sometime Saturday night and Sunday morning requesting that I email my proof of income. I emailed him my proof of income and asked him to call me as I was interested in a larger apartment. The agent returned my call that Sunday. I explained my situation to him and had him move my application to a 1br apartment that would be available on October 5th. I had cleared the credit check and make a lot more than the required minimum income for any of the apartments that I applied for. He assured me that he would review my documents and call me back by Tuesday with next steps. I had not heard back from him on Tuesday, I called on Wednesday to follow up. He returned my call the next day; I explained my situation to him again and decided to switch my application to an apartment that would be available on September 25th. I explained to the agent that I would prefer a premium apartment, given that the reviews were so horrible. He offered to call me for the next few Sundays until I move to update me on any premiums that are available. Since I had secured an apartment, I moved forward with getting movers and buying my plane ticket. The agent followed up with me on August 30th. At that time there were no premiums available for late September or early October. I was quite grateful that I had made major progress with PLB despite the horrible reviews and the lack of responsiveness in the beginning. This agent had been nice enough to follow up with me a couple of times since I submitted my application. I missed a call from the agent on September 12th and returned the call within a couple of minutes and it went to voicemail. I left him a voicemail and received no call back that day. I had been tracking PLB”s site for updated apartments and noticed that there were a couple of premiums available for immediate rental. Even though, those premiums did not have all the features I was looking for, I was prepared to lock-in an apartment for the current date, since I did not want to fly out without securing an apartment. I called the agent again on Monday and left him a voicemail that I would like to move my application to a currently available apartment- no call back. I decided to cancel my application and request a full refund on Wednesday.. I emailed the agent to request a cancellation of my application and a full refund of deposit and application fee, as my cancellation has to do with the company’s lack of responsiveness- no response. It is unfortunate that the majority of PLB’s reviews have a common theme- lack of responsiveness from management. I am still waiting to hear back on my refund.
Caste system, Institutionalized laziness... Dismissive, condescending, privileged,, unprofessional, disengaged and fundamentally utterly disrespectful management teams leveraging covid to rule Park La Brea as they always wanted to.Leasing or Management do not bother answering the phone or emails, nor simply doing their job, because naturally covid impact them more than any other property manager or company in LA or in the world..Paradoxically people on the ground such as security, maintenance or possibly the web community managers answering the bad reviews are very descent...After a few months at Park Labrea, It is apparent that there is an established caste system in place with omnipotent and self ruling management teams and... the others...and that includes tenants and aspiring tenants... Having lived in 5 different countries and prospected for new apartments often, I have just never seen anything like it...I would fire the leads aka managers on the spot and do a clean house...Richard Maravalle on the lease team among others...this is the result of your permissive doing, and this is just unacceptable .
I have to say that trying to move during Covid is a stressful situation in it self so i can only imagine how it is for the leasing agents. That being said Alice made my experience quite enjoyable, and even tho sometimes it took a little bit longer for communication. I can only imagine whats its like having to process information for a place that is this big. Alice really went above to make sure me and my roommates had what we needed and helping us get our apartment.
I recently just moved to this lovely neighborhood. It has been such an amazing experience, especially due to my leasing agent Crystal White. She guided me through the entire process and the living space is just what I wanted. Thank you for this great journey
Almost 2 weeks I am trying reach them but I couldn’t. In August want to move this apartment but nobody answered my calls, my emails and voice mails. If they are not responsible like that is better do not live there.
OK place to live, but management is not pleasant when there are issues. Overall, I am happy to live here because of location, but wish they would care just a little more for my complaints.
I’ve lived at PLB for almost 4 months now and, aside from a major spider infestation and loud neighbors, have been mostly happy. But, my AC decided to quit working in the middle of a record-setting heat wave. I’ve called PLB maintenance, administration, and hotline over 5 times in the past 48 hours and have not heard a peep on how or when they are going to fix it. No response. No emails. No help.
The worst memory of my years in LA. Management behaviour was disgraceful. We had problems with cockroaches, neighbouring apartments rented on airbnb creating unsafe and noisy situations, nasty noise from the outdated fridge and from the even more outdated elevators, clearly hearable from the bedroom.
We were really interested in leasing a garden home. We followed all steps required, talked to a consultant, but we were not allowed to see the unit in person without paying. This sounds absurd to me and almost like they make money by getting application fees. We are seriously disappointed since we loved the pictures.
The management team at the front desk are complete lack proper training and customer relation skills. They should all be fired and replaced.1. Service requests are often not completed. They will never give you an ETA or call back.2. My mailbox was defective and they told me to come to the office to pick up a replacement and then when i arrived they said I didn’t have an appointment and refused to let me in or provide service.Again, they will not take any responsibility for their incompetence and treat you like an idiot. Stay away.
I traveled from Texas to LA during a pandemic to find an apartment for my college-bound high school senior. I have gone by the Park La Brea apartment complex twice, called five or six times, left multiple voicemail, and sent emails. I wanted to ask questions about the community and inquire about a unit for my son. I have received ZERO response to any of my efforts and am now set to leave for Texas in two days. I am very disappointed with the level of professionalism this community has toward future residents and am very concerned with their inability to conduct business.
Our experience was amazing first because of our awesome leasing agent Richard Macavalle. He made the entire experience not only enjoyable but took his time to thoroughly ensure we felt 100% comfortable and answered every question and concern we had! He made our entire experience from the beginning to end and still after being at Park Le Brea now has been excellent at continuing to follow up to ensure our needs and any other additional information is met!We have loved the neighborhood friendly feel at Parrk Le Brea and Thanks to Richard our e fire experience has been fantastic!!
This is absolutely the worst leasing experience I have ever had:1. I applied for an apartment with hardwood floor. After going through the entire process, the leasing team told me that the unit is carpet only.2. I was fortunate enough to find another unit with hardwood floor. The IT system was not able to process my e-signatures and the process was delay for a few weeks.3. I applied before the rate lock deadline. But because no one in the office process my application on time, my rental rate went up by $150+. I had to go in person several time for the manager to change the rate back.4. The team is extremely not responsive. My move in date is in a week, and they told me they would send me move in information 2 week before move in date. Up until now, no one has sent me anything.5. I called the leasing number at least 8 time today. They promised me to call me back before 6...and I heard no response from anyone.6. The only times when someone actually picks up my call, they will tell me they are busy and will follow up with me later.I have never dealt with a team that is so incompetent and unprofessional before. They do not put in any effort to help you during the leasing process. I have to go in person to get them to take any action. I dont understand why it is so hard for them to do the bare minimum required for their job. The management team should really reevaluate how they handle customer service.
The location is prime it’s close to everything BUT i can’t wait until our lease is up. The model that was shown to us looks NOTHING like our unit - truly disappointed but we had already moved out from our old place and being 8 months pregnant couldn’t look for another place. The noise here is the worst. If you are looking for a tranquil place to live this is NOT it. Unless you’re in the top floor. The walls are paper thin so you hear EVERYTHING from your neighbor using the bathroom - when they are running water to someone hammering something downstairs and unfortunately for us we have a zoo upstairs sounds like someone is running all day. I have emailed PARKLABREA with no response as our lease does say we can’t annoy our neighbors and i truly feel annoyed. The doors here always slam shut. We hear all our neighbors when they leave and arrive the entrance door always slams shut seems the only way it properly closes and it can startle you until you get use to it. You can hear all the noise outside as well, trash is taken out at 7am EVERYDAY including the weekend and you can hear them rolling out the bins, you can hear security and construction workers talk to each other outside at all times of the day and night. The windows are not insulated so a breeze always comes through and they are really old windows at least in the towers. Overall very disappointed - moved here as i thought it would be a great place to start our family but all the noise wakes up my newborn and it is just not what we were expecting. The amenities also seem great but there’s a monthly fee to use the pool and gym - which i guess i can understand as there is only one for the ENTIRE complex. We opted out of paying extra for the gym and pool so not sure if they are any good. Parking is also scarce since guest/security and construction workers are all using the general parking area but you are able to rent a spot monthly as well for a fee. Just wish there were elevators in the parking garage and they didn’t rate the price from lowest price are the top spots since they are the most inconvenient ones to the most expensive on the lower level. Overall not happy and will not be renewing our lease. Thumbs down for this place - will not be recommending this place to anyone
I lived in PLB apartment, and it is clean and great, but pls clean not just houses, but the basement too.
I live here at park la brea so far 2 years. It has very well location only problem you can have parking if you not purchase reserved parking which cost $65 or if you move to no washer dryer unit it can be really headache i suggest pay hundred dolar more and move to washer dryer in unit ones and purchase reserved parking otherwise these apartments are really cool.
Park La Brea Apts. Good neighborhood. But maintenance is not responsive. Buildings are older and many issues. Tub has been pealing going on 3 months. Even with appointments, maintenance never showed up to fix the tub. Now we have a leak in the ceiling, due to rain. Still no fix. Must constantly follow up to get any response. Moved in 5 months ago and frustrated.
The experience shared with leasing office agent LYNN was disgusting and nasty. She was very rude via the phone/email and to me if you want people feel welcome to your place of residence she should NOT be the person you greet. I personally feel that she has personal racial bias that is unaddressed at this point in time and need she desperately needs to be more informed. Being rude and nasty gets you NO WHERE. You need better customer service at your leasing OFFICE Park La Brea. THUMBS DOWN. Lynn you are Unprofessional.
Almost impossible to get in touch with the leasing team and get an appointment for the virtual tour. I understand that they might be backed up due to COVID-19, but 1-2 weeks wait time doesnt help someone who is looking to make a quick decision. The review is not for the apartment and they might be good (based on the pictures), but one cant make a decision just based on the pictures.
Really like this place!!! We stay in tower apartment & it is really spacious with lot of closets. Beautiful gardens & surroundings in community. Great place to live for family specially if you have kids.Leasing Agent Daniel B. James was absolutely wonderful to work with & made our leasing process seamless. Thank you.
Pretty upset with the teams lack of response. I have called 1000x, finally spoke to a leasing agent who gave me generic information and told me i could come by to take a look at the community from the outside and said we could do a facetime of the unit... now isnt replying at all.. if they are this unprofessional prior to leasing an apt, can you imagine after?
The best leasing agent Richard Maravalle, who has made both my transfer from one of the towers that I lived 8 years to my new town house and my new lease and move so easy and pain free for me and my family. PLB thank you for having Mr Maravalle, he is absolutely is amazing!
I have been living here for a while.First of all, gym a/c is off on the weekends which is the most possible time for me to workout. Poorly maintained. I have called fitness center couple of times to turn on the air conditioning when it’s like a sauna with 20-30 people inside at the same time with different odors... Second, elevators are always not working. Please consider fixing these issues.Thank you
Park La Brea Apartments rent different types of houses and apartments, it has different green areas and is very well located, but its facilities are old, the conditions of the kitchens and bathrooms are old, the bathrooms consume a lot of water and have leaks, is important about the windows security, 2 people died in the last year as they fell from the highest floors, the administration It is deficient and advantageous, little help and they are only pending payments, I recommend looking at other options before taking this option.
No one answers calls or emails. I requested a repair service and parking spot 2 weeks ago. Still no solution. No one works in leasing office. You can’t get any help
If you are more family oriented get a garden home because you will share space in your patio and courtyard with a lot of kids and family reunions ... its a very nice place to live, a lot of light and gardens to walk, walk your pet or simply relax. If you like more privacy and your life its on a fast pace I recommend you the towers, its a lot more private. You dont share anything and they have a lot more closet space and bathrooms are on the same level (most of the garden homes have the bathroom in the second floor). This community has a privilege location, cleaned and the patrol service its very efficient.
My roommate and Is experience with PLB was very unpleasant. Our experience was riddled with horrible communication, unprofessional mannerisms, and underlying tones of discrimination. To start off, the person working on our case, Crystal Loporto, handled our situation very unprofessionally. When attempting to submit our application online, we were unable to have it processed due to website complications. When this problem was brought up to Crystal, she gave us the run around until we basically begged her for an alternate option. After dealing with that, I moved on to the process of submitting my paystubs to prove my source of income in order to qualify. When I did, they were deemed invalid and unacceptable. Trying to be flexible, I contacted my bank to get statements that proved I received a biweekly income, and for some unexplained reason, Crystal also stated they were not acceptable. Running out of options, I tried to get my mother, who operates a successful business, involved as a co-signer. They attempted to accuse my mother of having credit issues, and after proving this untrue, they would still not accept my mother as a co-signer despite not elaborating on the problem addressed. In order to get the place, my roommate submitted her paystubs and had her mother co-sign, they were accepted with no issue. This experience was extremely uncomfortable and felt as if other factors contributed to me not gaining acceptance, especially when my white roommate seemed to have access with no resistance. The issue that stood out the most is the call we received from Crystal Loporto herself, on her day off. She proceeded to call and tell us off, while stating she refused to talk to either one of us from that moment on. After still being willing to work with her even though she would avoid our calls, miscommunicate, and have us complete the same steps multiple times, this was a new low coming from this leasing company. However bad this experience was, me and my roommate are extremely grateful for Carl Grubb. After changing over and letting him handle everything, he was able to get it all settled fast and efficiently.Due to Covid-19 and being in a housing bind, we ended up sticking with PLB. Rest assured, if we had known attempting to live in this establishment was this problematic, we would have not spent the time we did on this place.
Great location and beautiful complex. Its huge area that is insanely easy to get lost in! Buildings are nice and price decent. The elevators seem to always be out which is annoying (because walking up 8 flights of stairs isnt my favorite). Typically, very nice and prompt staff especially considering the size of the complex.
Patrols are very discourteous.1. Hung up the phone without any proper greetings2. Yelled furiously and started cussingMore details sent to the PLB email.
Perfect experience! Richard is made it so easy to move-in our new apartment in this beautiful community. Thank you so much!
This blatant lie about corona should tell you everything; PLB acts like people don’t understand how to use Google- or check their local public county health records. SMH bad form PLB; bad form.
I am sooo incredibly excited with my apartment at Park LaBrea. The staff is attentive, pleasant, and professional. The grounds are gorgeous and well maintained. My leasing agent Ryan Wicklacz went above and beyond his call of duty to attend to my needs and he made all my request come true. Ryan treated me and my son like family. He was patient, understanding, and efficient. Because of Ryan my leasing experience during this Covid 19 pandemic was a pleasurable experience. Thank you Ryan and Park LaBrea for Christmas in early summer, my unit for me is the greatest gift I love it.Darlene Holt🤗🥳
My leasing experience was exceptional thanks to Richard Maravalle. I found that the process can be quite tedious so save yourself a headache and request Richard. He does an excellent job guiding new prospective resident through the leasing process.
On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hairWarm smell of colitas, rising up through the airUp ahead in the distance, I saw a shimmering lightMy head grew heavy and my sight grew dimI had to stop for the night. There she stood in the doorway;I heard the mission bellAnd I was thinking to myselfThis could be heaven or this could be HellThen she lit up a candle and she showed me the wayThere were voices down the corridor,I thought I heard them sayWelcome to the Hotel CaliforniaSuch a lovely place (such a lovely place)Such a lovely face.Plenty of room at the Hotel CaliforniaAny time of year (any time of year) you can find it here
We have been living here for almost one year now and there is construction almost every morning at 8am in my head. We have been patient with all off their excuses. I work at night so i need to sleep in the morning which i can’t because of constantly being disturbed by maintenance or construction! Also there terrible customer service we have received from day one. First of all the we were moved into an apt with termites, which took 2 weeks to resolve. Also the multiple request for things we needed to be fixed or replaced went with no response for almost 3 months! Including our fridge...sockets...windows...doorbell...hardwood ...master bedroom. I wouldn’t be so upset if they would actually reach out and respond back to me via e-mail or any other way to address my concerns. I wouldn’t recommend moving here! It looks nice but there are alot of things that need to change!
I have enjoyed living here for five years now. The location is prime, the price reasonable, and the living space is generous. Its unbelievably quiet for the amount of people that live in this community. That is very important to me! I get amazing sunlight in the apartment which makes me happy!Like anywhere, its going to have its issues (elevators breaking down, laundry room not so ideal) but overall; Ive had a wonderful living experience in Park La Brea. I feel safe and comfortable with all of my needs met and ultimately Im just grateful! Perspective.
Seriously tower apartments feel like 50’s California. No exhaust in the bathrooms and also the air conditioning is outdated, no proper geometry for the bedrooms. The elevators are pretty outdated and I sometimes wonder why people think these are the go to apartments here. There are far better options out there honestly. The worst thing is parking and it’s ridiculous to walk far to your parked car.
Very happy in this community, the attention to the maintenance of apts, the leasing agents post move in being attentive and the security of the community great a ambiance of security and family friendly.Highly recommend living here.
The most inefficient people work here. TINA the ACCOUNTANT is the laziest from all! She refuses to do her job correctly. After over a year, Im still waiting for her to fix some unlawful fees charge to my account. MAINTENANCE, many times I waited MONTHS for them to fix something. PARKING, you have to pay $70 for a reserved parking and many times your spot is taken by someone else!!! Elevators, they are always broken!!! POOL and GYM $20 per day per person.Around the laundry room is infested with cockroaches. EVEN DURING THIS PANDEMIC THEY ARE STILL TRYING TO CHARGE EXTRA FEES.
Richard was absolutely fantastic accommodating patient and very attentive. My wife was not exactly happy with the apartment I had chosen and he remained to come and showed professionalism leadership in control you guys are very lucky to have him.
I was waiting and wanted to move to Park La Brea garden house 3 bed room for 3 months. Finally I got a key recently. Specially it is Lovely, quiet community with beautiful landscaping here Park La Brea during COVID-19. Also, I have nice neighbors. It is very good environment. Our family enjoy living here, especially it is good for taking a nice walk in the community. We love flowers and trees with nice sunshine daily. We Love here, PLB .Richard Maravalle - Lead Leasing ConsultantAlso I appreciate Richard Maravalle - Lead Leasing Consultant. It was so good to see him again. I used to live PLB before for 9 years. He is always professional and helpful. At this time he was treating us like family and was very kind and informative to find what exactly we want. He helped us throughout the application process all the way till we got a key.Even after we moved in here, He is always prompt and courteous in his reply to my inquiries.Providing Very good communication.I think he is the best leasing consultant. Thank you !!!
If I could give negative stars I would. I left a few messages as well as contact the leasing office through email. It’s been over two months and still no reply.
Overpriced, worst service in the world. DONT MOVE TO PLB!!!!!!!!
I have lived in this amazing community for 24 years. It really is an oasis in our metropolis. The grounds and common areas are beautiful and well tended to, and when there are issues requiring maintenance, the response time is excellent. I also have the highest regard for ABLE Maintenance personnel. They are knowledgable, skilled, efficient and effective, trustworthy and very kind. Having lived here long enough to know many of them, I am always impressed with the professional and friendly manner in which they take care of any issue.
I have not been felt threatened since being here; which is more than I can say for my other two placed. But, I have asthma and every night there is smoke (both cigarettes and pot) filling into my apartment living room. I am forced to stay in my bedroom and bathroom. I also have constant fits and my health has only gotten worse.
Can anyone reply to my tour request? I’ve called and emailed numerous times. Seems like this is the only place someone replies
I am a travel nurse and my from my experience with Danielle & the tour of complex & unit was amazing. The unit I saw was very spacious and the lighting was wonderful! Location location location, close to everything for me personally work & personal! When another position or contract opens in Los Angeles my request will be to stay at Park La Brea Apartments! Thanks for everything Danielle. Continued Success to Park La Brea!
There are MUCH better options than this gigantic Apartment Community! It took over 30 minutes to even walk from one gate to another, and the signage is POOR. A lot of the apartments look run down, with torn screendoors, for example. The Leasing Office is very busy and the receptionist told us that she wasnt able to provide us with any brochures or information and that we would have to return for a Tour. We never bothered, after finding out that parking is first come first serve for residents, and the street parking places are in use 24/7. No thanks!
Love my home away from home. Great size apartments that feels so safe and walk able.
I very much enjoy living and working in Park La Brea. It is a great, friendly community. I have nice neighbors. There is lots to do. I am happy to be a Coordinator at the Park La Brea Activity Center and help with many events. I love teaching the Debi Doodles Arts & Crafts After School Workshop, twice a month, now in our 7th year. Thank you for a great experience.
Great place to live, quit and 24 hours security on duty, feels very safe and quit! My friend lives there and I have stayed with her for a week! I dont live there yet but hoping to move there soon! Last week I went to the leasing office to see the offer and to see the community, definitely best place and the service is amazing!Even thought I told to the guy who showed me that I am not going to move in soon but the leasing consultant Carl G who showed me around and explain everything thing very details. If anyone new in town definitely check this place out and ask for Carl to show you around!
In a word, ANAHIT ALICE GEORGE is fabulous! She is patient, knowledgeable, cordial, and not pushy or pressuring all while exuding character, class, and a sense of humor. She has expert knowledge of the product and product availability. She displayed exceptional listening skills, was very present during our time together, and was quite genuine and authentic from beginning to end. Park LaBrea is indeed fortunate and blessed to have Anahit in their employ. Recognizing her talents in very tangible ways represents an investment in the organizations future.
Trying to reach the leasing team through phone. Made any number of calls and left voicemail but to no avail. I like the community from what it looks like on the website and would like to explore the possibility of living there. Lets see if the property manager sees the review and makes an attempt to reach out to the prospective client, who is beyond tired to try to reach them.
Skip Park La Brea.Began the leasing process and received an email from Carl Grubb asking me about my lease details, like how many rooms, pets, etc.Replied to him and never received anything back. Followed up with him and still nothing. Have tried to re-start the application process from their website, still no responses back. Not going to bother with them anymore.
I originally planned to be here just a year or two, to sort things out following my divorce, and here I am a decade later, as the complex is well located and well maintained & landscaped... I want to give a special shout-out to Sylvie and Debora at the Business Center, where I am able to quickly and efficiently use the computers 7 days a week when I need to inexpensively print or copy documents... They are friendly, helpful, cheerful, patient -- everything you could hope for in the customer service realm!... I just wanted to take this opportunity to offer a big thanks for all their help through the years...
I just moved back with my two boys after going through a divorce. I have to say that Park La Brea was a lifesaver. From the time I contacted them until I signed the lease was seamless. And now that I am here, I remembered why I lived here for so long the first time! From the leasing agents to patrol, to service requests, I am confident my boys and I will very much enjoy starting our new chapter here.
We moved here a week ago. We are liking PLB so far. Our one bedroom apartment is spacious and we are happy to have lot of sunlight. The complex by itself is very lively with a good environment. We had a very minor maintenance issue on the very first day of our move and the maintenance fixed it right away. The only downside is the parking. We had issues finding a parking spot close to our apartment the first two days when we arrived late in the night. We tried unreserved parking initially. So we went ahead and got a reserved parking spot for us and we are happy now. There are different reserved parking spot options available as well. You can either choose the one in the garage or in an outdoor reserved parking lot. So far so good.
I toured here, prices aren’t fixed and don’t make sense. Took forever to show us anything we actually would have rented. Hidden fees. Felt like I was in mental health prison. Views were actually great for the towers. Agent was sweet considering all the challenges with the management company she works for.
I am currently living in this apartment. This apartment service is really terrible. My house blind is broken, and I requested to fix it in early July.It takes almost one month, but nobody came to my house to fix it.Still it is broken. Every morning, I wake up very early because of sunlight.I called service center around ten times. They always said I am so sorry about that... I will request service.I can not understand this situation.Fixing blind is very easy. I think they ignore me.Moreover, air conditioner is not working properly.Engineer came two or three times to fix it, but same problem is remained.I was so angry, but I requested service again because I thought they can make mistakes... Although they failed to fix it, they came my house to fix. However, now.. they did not answer my request...Same situation with blind is occured. They just give me the reservation number, and never came to fix it.Never make contract with this apartment. After moving in, they will ignore you.I called the number written on the review, but nobody answer the phone. And I remained the voice mail, of course nothing difference.Still my air conditional and blind is out of order.I think they totally ignore me!
* My Move-In : Mid October, 2018* Type of Residence : Tower* Characteristics- Lease ContractIn the process of making a lease contract, my consultant, Richard, and his partner, Domenica, were both very kind and willing to help me. Without them, things could have gone much harder for me. They gave a good guideline for preparing my contract and made the process go smooth. I very much appreciate their help in settling down here in Los Angeles.- Environment (Outside)As soon as I came to take a look at the apartments, I came to a conclusion to live here. This was due to the apartments complexs safety and green-friendliness. Since I have a wife and a baby, I thought these factors were most crucial in choosing a home. I would still feel secure for my family to go outside without me being there.- Building (Inside)I was told this place was built tens of years ago and due to that matter, the interior of the building seem a bit old-fashioned. Especially, bathroom. I have to turn on both cold and hot water taps to make warm water come out. And the water pressure of shower is a bit low. These are some of improvements they can make later when remodeling.- Rent FeeCompared to the rent prices of the same room type from other areas, Park La Brea Apartments price is a bit high, generally. But when considering the environment of this place and great places nearby(Grove Mall, etc), I think it would worth its amount.
***BEWARE BEWARE BEWARE***CONS:-OVERPRICED-MOST UNITS NOT UPDATED appliances, it’s extra $$$-MOST UNITS DONT HAVE W/D, it’s extra $$$- LAUNDRY ROOMS ARE GROSS AF MACHINES CONSTANTLY BREAKING DOWN- 1br $2500+++ and thats just the basics***THERE IS NO REAL SECURITY*** doors to buildings and campus are always accessibleNO CAMERAS IN PARKING GARAGE, which is also an extra fee to use. There’s been a broken “security” camera in one of our elevators since the day I moved in. Never been fixed.PROS:If you’re able to afford a tower unit with a view, the view is lovely but otherwise this is La and there are other views with less headaches !And I live in one of those overpriced towers with a view, for over THREE long years. And I promise it’s not worth it.Do better Park La Brea. DO BETTER.
I’m a resident living in Park La Brea Apartments for over 1year. Today my friend is coming to visit me and I have already called the patrol office for visitor pass for her car. But when my friend arrived at the 6th street entrance, the security woman said no record in the system. It’s quite weird because I called before my friend comes. And then I called the patrol office for the second time and the office guy said it’s all set. But the security woman still said no record and does not let my friend in with rude attitude??? I do not know what’s going on between the patrol office and computer system in the entrance??? I feel Park La Brea Apartments have great location and good community to live with. But some of the working people should improve their attitude not only for residents but also for visitors. Do not let some unprofessional staff ruin the community ok? Definitely some staff need to improve their attitude!!
Richard Maravalle my leasing agent was the best you could ask for. From start to finish he made the process quick and simple. I highly recommend asking for him.
