If you book and they cancel due to COVID they will only give you credit till the end of the year. They take the fare if you are unable to travel and only give you back the taxes. Might not want to book a flight with them during COVID. I had a flight with both FIJI and Hawaiian air for different legs of my trip. Hawaiian returned my fare after they cancelled my flight and FIJI Airways refused after 8 months of requesting.

Mixed bag of pros and cons:1. lower fare compared to quantas and air nz if transiting in nan to aus or nz2. generous 1 free checked bag of 158 linear cm, 23kg3. out of the 4 different crew on 4 flights, 1 crew lax-nan was incredibly remarkable, so attentive; 3 other not so, 1 crew nan-lax seemed impatient4. in 10-12 hours flight, incredibly small amount of food with only choice of chx or vege, so bring snacks5. boarding at nan was worst than chaotic, thats an understatement6. boarding area was crowded; fj lounge was just a little better which can be purchased separately for 99fjd

The first time we went to Fiji 6 years ago the flight was good lots of good movies to chose from, a toothbrush, pretty good leg room,and personal air flow. This time the flight was horrible. No good movies, no personal air, no space for your knees let alone your under the seat carry on.

Flying from Nadi to Christchurch. At the check-in counter the company asked for the ticket out of New Zealand, witch I promptly show. It was a ticket from Auckland to Santiago (Chile). The agency from Ive bought the ticket didnt sent the booking reference of the flight, but I had the booking flight proof and the receipt of payment. Fiji Airways refuse to check me in because I didnt have the booking reference (for a flight 3 weeks later out of NZ). Worst, they didnt even offer to help or sugest any solution, just saying I had 20min until they close the check-in, refusing to call NZ immigration services to expose the problem. It was night time in Europe, and after 20min and more than 60 Euros on the phone I got the mighty booking reference! Arriving in New Zealand, 99% sure, they made me for that spend 1h in Customs running through all my things during an extensive interrogation. It makes no sense playing with people lifes in a job that you are supposed to help people that paid for a service. Worst flying company I ever travelled.

We reached Auckland airport quiet early but when we went to the aisle then we got told that we were late because they were closing check in because flight is leaving early due to the fog. When we asked if they have informed everyone and they said some people we got in touch with but others no and we were in that no category. If we wouldnt have gone in early then we would have missed the flight.When we were in the flight, baby was asleep and they were serving food so when I asked can I have my daughters food when she wakes up plz? Then I got told we cant heat up your food later so you can have it now or later its upto you.Disappointed at air hostess attitudes.

Unfortunately my initial experience was horrible as i was traveling to DUB from LA airport LAX. I received my luggage at DUB Airport heavily damaged and half the content missing. It looked like someone targeted my luggage as they ripped the section with TSA lock. Furtunely i had my $6000 camera in my personal bag but the missing content and cost of the damaged luggage is around $700 mostly my luggage was the biggest expense. I reported the issue to FA luggage desk at DUB Airport. They recorded a claim and asked me to submit another form via their web site and to the TSA which I did right away.A few months later someone from Fiji customer service asked to work with my travel insurance which I did have at the time something i leave home without when im traveling. They cut me a check for 70 percent of my losses which i was satisfied. I didnt feel it was the Fiji Airways fault but they could have done more to protect customers belongings in the future. So learn from my experience and insure everything.

After my fight from Australia to Fiji I was prepared to give it two stars, but the much longer flight from Fiji to the US gets it an extra star. The shorter flight was on a plane without individual screens and they Reid to make everyone watch the original Ice Age, which was made in the ice age, in movie years. The lifts were on almost the whole time even though it was a redeye. The staff were friendly and helpful in the limited way I saw required. They gave us a meal even though the flight left at midnight. Surprisingly, based on what id heard, we arrived early.The longer flight was on a bigger plane with seat screens. The staff were again fine to good. They gave everyone a toothrbush.The food overall is about average--better than the terrible (like Alaska), worse than the pretty good like Asiana or New Zealand.Their technology is garbage. I couldnt select seats online and had to call. I couldnt check on my reservation or check in online and I had to call.Oh, and its annoying that they actually weigh every carry-on. People need to carry electronics with them, and electronics are heavy. Spare batteries must be carried on rather than checked, and those are heavy.

The lady at the check-in advised me of the visa requirement for Australia and immediately offered to issue the same.When asked, she said the cost online would be $ 20, at her counter $ 25.It turned out the cost online is only $ 9I think thats pretty outrageous.The rest of the check-in was okay, staff friendly.
