Great stuff, I took a wing foil curse. the instructor was great, right to the point. Took care of me and made sure I have the right tools to start wing sailing/ foiling.(still not sure the correct name)Came back for buying the equipment, 2 weeks later, they were very polite and did not try to make the sale just educating me what is the right equipment for Belmont shore. I felt very comfortable and bought 2 wing foils. without asking the owner work out a great deal for me hassle free. (better than expected …ha ha and I’m a pretty educated shopper, I came to the store ready knowing the market pricing). I strongly recommend doing business with them. such a good feeling that I’m here writing this review. A true small business with the focus on the customer thank you
Thank you Sabrina and Leif for the exceptional service and advise. They even tracked my shipment and alerted me the day that it was being delivered. I highly recommend them if you are looking for kite equipment, advise or lessons. Thanks again! I love my new 10m FlySurfer Soul!!!
Omg they were so nice~ This is why I like family companys, they are usually super nice and really know their stuff. I asked all sorts of questions about kite surfing as I want to try it out. Now I know where to buy when I start the sport~
I had the most wonderful time here. The people around are so nice. Yoga everyday at 8am was a huge bonus. Snorkel gear, sup, kayaks, and kite lessons. Even if your not an active go getter it is just a great place to relax, very safe, great views from the bar,and captains deck. Great breakfast!!!!
The best place to get your watersports gear, in particular, kitesurfing stuff. The owner and the staff are very knowledgeable, helpful and product selection is very extensive.
Dan is super knowledgeable and very patient while you learn. I cant believe its only been 3 lessons and Im body dragging in the water! Great customer service too.
The Guys at Captain Kirks are knowledgable and run a good shop. I had a small misunderstanding when I brought in a kite for repair and requested a quote for repair. There was a mix up and the quote was never given but the repair was still made. I was a little upset because the repair was rather large and more $$ than I had planned. They guys at the shop apologized for the mistake and gave me a discount on the repair which I really appreciated. The main thing I care about is a business being able to admit a mistake and make an effort to make up for the error to the customer, which they did. I am stoked on their service and will return to give them more business.
Best water spot shop in Los Angeles,Great Staff, great prices, include kitesurfing school with the Best instructor you can ever meet.
Captain Kirks makes the sport of kiteboarding fun, safe, and accessible to riders of all levels. Once I scheduled my lesson thru their site, I was immediately contacted by staff member/owner Sabrina, who got a sense of my skill level and comfort zone. Until I began my lesson, the staff was in constant contact with me about gear preparation, wind forecasts, meeting locations, etc...My lesson was fun, engaging, and comfortable. My instructor, GP, was enthusiastic and professional while always keeping the focus on me as the student. In the two hours I was there, I learned how to launch my kite, do a water start, and even got some riding time in!Regardless of your level, if you want to get into kiteboarding in a safe and fun way, go to Captain Kirks. Cant wait to watch this sport grow!
The captain is always a fun and knowledgeable guy to talk to. I love to stop by the shop to hear the latest and greatest, learn a bit and keep the psyche up.
Great selection. they had everything I needed. a true one stop shop.
They had everything I need it. Mr. Kirk is brilliant and his soul beats for the kids of the ocean waiting to play.
Complete Bait and Switch. Do not go there to go kiteboarding, you will spend 3 hours learning how to fly a kite, and not even touch the water for $200.The owner called and yelled at me on the phone and then hung up. I dont know how this place is still in business
Kiteboarding is dangerous. If you do not have the patience to 1. Learn to fly the kite properly and 2. Correct use of safety equipment; you will be a danger to yourself and the people and property around you. I spent 7 hours on the above two items alone. I would not have done any less.(FYI, I have skydived, scuba dived, surfed north shore Hawaii and Sumatra and drag raced an 11 second car). Nothing astounding, but I put kiteboarding at the top of the list of all those when it comes to death and injury potential...if you dont take the time to learn it right. Hopefully the first reviewer Erik took more time down the line to learn it right or got in bowling instead.
Kirk and Tom have a great knowedge base and demeanor that will encourage top performed from total beginner to expert paddlers, kiters and windsurfers a like.
Captain Kirks store is very helpful I was very happy.
Friendly atmosphere, staff, great products
