I have been trying to communicate with management for 2 weeks now. I suspended my service for an entire year due to an injury early this year. As soon as the gyms were able to reopen, I was charged a $75 monthly fee. I have been calling to speak with someone about this and each time I get an excuse on how management is too busy to come to the phone or return a call, after countless messages. I did not want to cancel just downgrade but now I am very close to closing my account all together. I wonder if I am being stalled to get another monthly payment....

The staff is always willing to help with issues and is responsive to issues that come up. Marc the manager is really nice with members and the front desk are always warm and welcoming. The personal training staff are great too. They keep the floor clean and clear of weights.

BE CAREFUL FOR UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES ON YOUR CREDIT CARD THAT NYSC WILL NOT REFUNDI had an issue with an unauthorized billing charge and spoke to Karen the Customer Service manager. Karen told me there was nothing she could do to help me because she claimed I signed a contract that authorized the charge. However, I did not sign any contract to authorize the charge and when I asked Karen to provide me with a copy of the document with my signature on it she told me that she can only send me a blank copy and that she doesn’t have a document with my signature on it to show me. I explained that if she has no evidence that I authorized the charge then it needs to be refunded or reversed and she hung up on me. When I called back she had her assistant tell me that she was busy and unable to take calls.

Stay away. They raise monthly prices without any notification. Started with a membership of $39.99 and crept up to $64.99 slowly over time.Then they charge you a $70.00 “administration fee” yearly.Many TVs on equipment do not work. Staff is very indifferent when you have any issue.When I told them I would be doing alot of travel for work and want to freeze membership i was told it would cost $15.00 a month to freeze you account.I never gave a review before but am compelled to put it out there so you go in with eyes wide open. I do not recommend this gym at all!!

That entire company is lost. From top to bottom. Especially the corporate management. They are only about one thing the almighty dollar! If they were a bank that would be fine but a HEALTH driven business that doesn’t really care about their members is the underlining flaw. The only reason why they get 1 star is because their personal trainers are exceptional! Some of the best in the business but when you pay them peanuts they tend to leave so it’s a constant revolving door of people. If they tried taking care of their members and employees then perhaps they wouldn’t need mandatory quotas and get better reviews.

This is a really nice gym and work out spot and was about to join when they started explaining options - was feeling very pressured. When we started asking questions about what was meant by the terms in the contract - no satisfactoru explanation was given. We just walked away and joined elsewhere.

This gym is garbage. Not only is it dirty with equipment that is out of order a majority of the time, but they constantly change rates and fees without even notifying you.

First time there today and really liked it. Pam was great orienting me to the facility and getting me started. She was so kind, informative and understanding!Only one suggestion..hand sanitizers should be checked to make sure they are full and not empty.

Nice staff. 2 ellipticala have been out of order for 3+ weeks. When you ask they say a ticket was submitted and a repair person is coming soon. Manager here should plead with corporate to get the facility updated as it gives all NYSC a bad name. Dirty, smelly and not taken care of properly.

This place scam me the minute I walked through the door, just wanted a simple membership, then was approached by a trainer who said there was a special deal, 5 training sessions + 2 free for $316, assured me it was a month trial basis and I could cancel contract at the end of month, if I did not want to continue, after 3 sessions the fourth session he called in sick and didnt even notify me, the next session I told him my situation, and to make sure I dont get charged for another month because I dont want to continue, seeing that I was frustrated we sat down at a desk and he assured me he would cancel my account it actually took like 10 minutes while I sat there never gave me anything to sign told me Im cancelled, they wind up charging me for another month and I never went back to my trainer, then I receive a text message saying thiers a problem with my automatic withdrawal. went down to Branch again to make sure my account was canceled apparently it was not, and they tell me that I have to pay my balance before I can cancel, when they told me my balance I got very upset, still getting the runaround and my trainer is still denying what he said apparently, getting in touch with someone to help me and listen to me is impossible, basically now they calling me a liar, and ignoring the situation, bottom line bad business practices and they dont seem to care. Dont waste your time Ive wasted countless days and hours on this already!!!!!!!!!!!.!!!!!!

Worst gym Ive been to. Not only is it dirty, they raised my rate twice without my knowledge or consent, they charge $80 per session for personal training meanwhile Synergy right up the road is $40 for personal training and wont raise your rate. DO NOT USE THIS GYM!!!

I only continue my membership because of its location...Living in LB, the choice of Health clubs is very limited. The place is a sh-thole...literally the majority of machines have something wrong with them...screens dont work, or if they do work, the headphone jacks are broken, or they just dont work....the place is a lawsuit waiting to happen with the wet staircase going upstairs to the free weight area as the ceiling has been leaking for years...the benches upstairs are missing knobs to adjust them, the padding is loose or ripped on most of them..All the place needs is some TLC..but the more they neglect the TLC stuff, the more horrendous the conditions become...I gave it a second star for their cleaner..the guy works like a dog and does his best to keep the place clean...IDK what they pay him, but its not enough..

Worst gym I’ve ever been to. Half of all treadmills/ellipticals are always broken and take weeks to be fixed, just to break the next week. Upstairs weight area is the same thing. Always broken machines and 70% chance of rain inside the gym due to constant leaks in the ceiling. Complaints to management or employees at the front desk are always brushed off. I’ve had a cable machine snap and whip at my face while i was using it. Compete disgrace of a gym. Limited gym options in Long Beach, but this place is definitely not where you want to be. I’d rather buy my own gym equipment and work out in my garage.

Be careful in joining NYSC. They dont honor contracts. I paid an up front fee of $149 to lock in a low monthly rate. There was no provision in the contract for ANY rate increases. Recently, they increased my monthly fee by 33%. When I try to get it rectified I get nowhere but I wont stop on social media until this is resolved. A contract is a contract.

It has been 6 days since I notified the club that my frozen training account was charged $380.00. I received no training or notification that a charge would be placed on my account. My account was frozen for one year with an expiration date of 5/2018. This has been the second incident of an unauthorized charge to my account and the club has not moved to correct the situation or return calls regarding my daily inquiries. I am outraged!

Nice gym and facilities however they are scam artists. Joined about 3 years ago for the special $20 a month rate, and was told the $40 annual fee would hold my membership rate. Every year since the rate has increased (ended up at around $31 before I quit). Also the emails you get about the rate increasing go directly to your spam folder. When I went in and spoke to someone about this, they said the rates always go up. Unfortunately I could not find my contract and was not able to prove anything. Also when you quit you have to pay a $29 cancelation fee.

Membership policy could be more customer-oriented.

Absolutely horrendous ! Most treadmills do not work and if they do work the screens are broken. There’s blood on the carpet in the women’s changing area and the staff is horrendous and on their cell phones the entire time so when you go to talk to them or complain they look at you as though you are incovienencing them!! I am a step away from canceling and going to Synergy. It’s not far and treats members with respect and it’s club like it should. Super friendly front desk staff that look like they are actually working and not just playing candy crush or scrolling Instagram. New management is clearly needed - this is the absolute worst !!!!

Just joined a month ago, love the classes Was charge right away with $70 yearly fee for maintenance, and I am freezing can you purchase a portable heater until you repair the heating system.If every member is paying for maintenance it is more than enough to get few heaters.😢😢😢😢

I am trying to get someond to tell me when or if the pool will be clean enough to swim in. There are big globs of hair and debris everywhere. Water is too hot and pool needs to be filled!

Gym is always dirty and about 30% of equipment is out of order. Trainers are for the most part over weight / out of shape. Truly the blind leading the blind.

Much nicer than the NYSCs in the city. Friendly staff and clean locker rooms. Rarely too crowded.

My son wanted to join NYSC in Long Beach so he could get in shape over the summer, so I let him do it. Unfortunately my credit card was then charged an annual fee, even though we are only doing a month to month contract with them. So even though hes only using the gym for 3 months, I have to pay the entire annual fee, or they will send it to a collection agency. They also bill you after its too late to cancel.If this is an annual fee, why hide it from the cost you sign up for? Theres no extra benefit for paying the fee, you have to pay it no matter what. The only reason for the fee is to make their membership look cheaper when you sign up. The right thing to do is break it down into 12 monthly payments and add that to the monthly charge. Why do I have to pay the entire year if were only using 3 months? Its simple, they use deceitful billing practices and hide behind the small print. Its a way to swindle more money out of their members.I admit I did not read the policy of the annual fee as I let my son sign up for his own membership. I will now pay for my ignorance. Nevertheless, I feel everyone is duped by NYSC for this extra charge that is clearly a deceitful way to make their membership appear cheaper than it really is, and to additionally penalize anyone on a month to month membership. I have my own business and if I tried to pull this on my clients, I would be out of business.NYSC has lost a customer for life. Im sure they dont care because they have enough people who will just pay and not speak out. I will purchase a weight set for my son and he can work out at home. I encourage everyone else to do the same, or look for a gym that doesnt hide the true cost of membership.

Staff is friendly, but maintenance is horrid. There is always a bunch of equipment out of order (sometimes even without a sign), the water fountains break regularly, the hand sanitizer and paper towels often go unreplaced, and there is a general apathy from management about these issues.The main reason I continue going to NYSC is because of the sauna (there are no other saunas in Long Beach NY)

Horrible Gym! Poorly kept, old machines and free weights, dirty locker rooms and showers, and corporate just raised the monthly fees by $10 without notification. I wonder where that money is going? I know its not going to sorely needed upgrades at this NYSC in LB!

Terrible charged me $ 10 cancellation, I paid $ 25 a month I are now charging $ 35 a month plus $ 70 for a new contract, contract I eh not, sorry mind prey in this place very carefully!
